A Blackhawk, Adder, Mad Dog, Dragonfly and Summoner from my Ghost Bear unit, the Clawtake.
Newly minted Star Commander Jehan recognized in the early days of Operation: Revival that the strict traditions of the Clans were a hindrance in the fight against the Inner Sphere, and that should the Clans be successful they would need to integrate Spheroid warriors, with their own traditions and tactics, into Clan Toumans.
His opinion was sufficiently well argued, and the ensuing trials sufficiently well-fought that he was instructed to form a unit to beat the Spheroids at their own game. His initial star was filled with Warriors almost of Sohlama age, with the intent being that they would be replaced with Abtahka.
The plan worked, and the unit came to be known as the Clawtake, after the trophies claimed after a successful Clawing ritual. Furthermore, it led to Jehan being promoted as the unit grew and sponsored to the MacKenzie Bloodright.
It was only after the fact that my spouse pointed out I'd painted them in the colours of the Asexual Flag.
Star Colonel Jehan MacKenzie, reporting for duty, Commanding General.
I understand we are still tasked with taking the dropport, in concert with Star Captain Tseng and her bondsmen?
Also, I do not suppose I could sit? It has been a long run from Kinship, and my ribs are complaining vociferously.
On 13th April 1719 a small Spanish force, believing itself to be part of a much larger invasion planned for England to return the Jacobites to power, landed in Loch Duich, east of the site of what is now Kyle of Lochalsh.
The little known 'Little Rising’, saw a force of 300 Spanish soldiers land and combine with less than a thousand Highlanders, under George Keith, the 10th Earl of Marischal, William Mackenzie, the 5th Earl of Seaforth Lord George Murray and John Cameron of Lochiel.
The plan had been hatched by King Philip of Spain and Italian Cardinal Alberoni as a diversion to help in the campaign to restore Spanish power and territories ceded to the British following the Treaty of Utrecht. The Spanish force should have been much larger, but much of it had been destroyed by a storm. Added to this Highlanders did not join the Jacobites in the expected numbers, However, the Jacobites made their base at Eilean Donan Castle and intended to capture Inverness. Unfortunately, Hanoverian ships shelled the castle and the only battle was at Glen Shiel two months later when the Jacobites were defeated by a Government army led by General Joseph Wightman.
This uprising is often overlooked, the only “major” action was on June 10th at the Battle of Battle of Glen Shiel, more of that in a couple of months.
A wee added note to this, it was during this time that Eilean Donan was destroyed by Government ships bombarding it the ruined castle was abandoned until 1912 when it was purchased by Lieutenant-Colonel John MacRae-Gilstrap. Rebuilding was undertaken between 1914 and 1932 and it was at this time that a bridge was built to link the island to the shore. The pics shows how the castle looked in the two centuries between these events and the restoration, and the ruin, as it was.
Today in the Department of Before They Were Star Trek Stars, Leonard Nimoy guest stars in "The Imposter," episode 13 of the first season of Mackenzie's Raiders (original air date January 3, 1959). Nimoy plays the leader of a gang of horse thieves Colonel Mackenzie infiltrates in order to catch them in the act.
Bud: The hospital wouldn’t let him visit Colonel MacKenzie since she’s still recovering from her injuries. The Commander was told that, unless he himself was also injured, he wasn’t allowed to stay. So, he punched himself in the face and told the hospital staff that he was injured, so therefore he could stay.
Admiral Chegwidden: Well, you have to admire his… dedication I suppose.

Wedding of HRH Prince Oliver of the Scots, Duke of Rothsey & HIH Madame Hortense of Francesim Part 6
Stéphane: Meanwhile, we are moving over to the Royal Mile to see some of the military units on parade, ahead of the newlyweds, with the King’s Highlanders being ahead of the couple and their cavalry guard of honor. Do I see bagpipes in the band?
Travis: Yes! I believe the King’s Highlander’s pipes and drums have joined the regimental band to celebrate their colonel.
Stéphane: The couple are now on the Royal Mile, and they look glorious!
Travis: That they do! I do love that the nation has brought out the memorabilia, including the combined flags of Scots and Francesim!
Stéphane: And we see the bridal party in the carriages behind the couple, the children being impeccably behaved.
Travis: In the first carriage, we see Princess Armance, Prince Lenerd, Lord Callen and Mr. Charles Everett and in the second we have Princess Amelie, Prince Andrew and Lady Mackenzie.
Travis: And we are now seeing the Royal Navy in parade followed by the Royal Air Force ahead of the King’s carriage.
Stéphane: Was the inclusion of the Naval unit a nod to the Emperor?
Travis: For them to be in this order, yes! The King was also in the RAF so these two units share associations with the two crown heads in the carriage.
Travis: And we see them heading down the royal mile now!
Stéphane: They are all pros at this, granted the Scots have a bit more practice than the Emperor at the art of public appearance.
Travis: This is a rare moment of the French monarchy in open top carriages no?
Stéphane: I believe so! The Imperial household mainly uses cars and enclosed carriages. I do think that they should invest in some open tops!
Stéphane: And we see TRH now entering Horse Guards, home to the Royal Household Cavalry, the pair paying their respect to the guards who are lining Horse Guards to support one of their own.
Travis: That’s right! All members of the Royal Household Cavalry who are on ceremonial duties are present either in the escorts or here. And they are about to pass through the arch
Stéphane: Sneaking in a kiss while away from the crowds! A sweet moment for sure, immortalized on video
Travis: I don’t know if they know that there is a camera in the arch.
Stéphane: A bit sneaky there Travis!
Travis: I will say, it is normal for us to have a camera there! Before people get upset!
Stéphane: I think people will appreciate the moment! We now are getting a shot of them holding hands in the carriage, quite adorable.
Travis: I think now we can really see the characteristic Stuart adoration and protectiveness of their partner. I can definitely guess that the hand hold is protectiveness because this is an overwhelming situation. They are now turning into Holyrood Palace.
Travis: As the newlyweds turn in, we are seeing a quick clip of the carriages behind them, and look at Prince Lenerd adopting the double wave!
Stéphane: He is already mastering the art of public appearance.
Travis: And as everyone returns to the palace, we're going to take a brief moment to just unpack this momentus day. It was glorious! was it not Stéphane?
Stéphane: Absolutely! I think it was because at it's core, it was about a couple truly and madly inlove with each other. The calls to both the Imperial Simparte Family and Royal House of Stuarts through out the day was beautiful.
You ask if I am Bloodnamed, and to this I answer that I was sponsored to the MacKenzie Bloodhouse shortly before the Trial of Tukayyid, on the strength of the successes I had using the tactics of Spheroid warriors against them.
You ask if I have taken many Bondsmen and to this I answer that it is the strength of the Clawtake that many of our warriors are Abtahka, former bondsmen taken from the finest warriors to stand against us.
As for my opinion of the Inner Sphere, I find that the Spheroids dwell amidst an embarrassment of riches, that their leadership seem intent on squandering. It is a far cry from the careful husbandry of resources that the Great Father insisted the Clans practice.
Narrator: Here’s a 64x63 lot out in the middle of nowhere on the outskirts of Hidden Springs.
It’s nice sunny day and Admiral Tosh Nakamura is standing in the middle of the lot wearing a flightsuit and chaps (a g-suit).
Hopefully it makes sense to somebody, because it sure as hell doesn’t to me. Having finished up their term of service in the United States Navy, he’s decided that he’s going to settle down here and earn some money in order to live comfortably for the rest of his existence. Considering the fact that he’s done his forty years of service, he pretty much can’t get called up again.
Evidently he won’t be alone either.
Vice-Admiral Meg Austin, former Judge Advocate General is now retired after thirty years of naval service and she’s decided that she’s going to take some time and spend it with friends while she figures out what she’s going to do with the rest of her life. Does nobody figure this stuff out while they’re in the service?
Accompanying her are Captain Kimber Benton with twenty years in (who is still subject to call-up), Lieutenant Colonel Sarah “Mac” Mackenzie, Captain Harmon Rabb Jr. Lieutenant Commander Jack Keeter and Commander Phil Burrows. Yes, it’s an odd-numbered situation, but well, Phil’s nuts. That pretty much explains everything he does.
It should be fine as long as he’s not haranguing the commode. But one thing I still want to know is: Who the hell decided to let him in the cockpit of an F-14 Tomcat?
The Watcher has given them pretty much nothing other than five apple trees and a lettuce plant. Yeah, that’s going to really help them out. And they’d better nurse that lettuce plant because if it gets eaten by deer, they’re not getting another one.
But thank goodness for the Navy and their pension. They will receive the equivalent of §2.5M each for their separation and they will receive §18,500 a month for the rest of their lives, which means §55,500 a season. That should be enough to get them started. But the only thing is that they can’t build their house without getting good at being handy around the house. Frankly gaining the handyman and inventing skills is the only way they can start building and the inventing work table. That means that for every wall section they create they have to have at least a Level 2 skill level and unfortunately it would have to be one section a day, no matter how much money they have. If they have mastered the handyman and inventing skills, then they will be able to complete a room in a week, which means that they will have to all work together at getting this done. Each of them will have to learn how to become handy and invent things. Nope, it’s not going to be easy.
But where will they sleep? How will they eat?
I guess they’re going to have to pick a spot on the ground...and if it rains, it’s going to be miserable. C’est la vie.
ADM Nakamura: My back is going to hate me in the mornings.
Watcher: Looks like he finally got out of that flight gear. That's half your problem, Admiral, 50 pounds of flight gear on your torso's bound to make your back ache.
CAPT Benton: What exactly did I get myself into?
LCOL Mackenzie: I don’t know how I’m going to work this around, but I know Harm’s to blame for this.
CAPT Rabb: I’m so dead.
CDR Burrows: Oooh...I can go fishing, and biking and…
LCDR Keeter: Oh, man, I stepped in it...now. This is not going to be comfortable even with Meg around.
VADM Austin: Texans are supposed to be tough, but camping out in a temperate rainforest isn’t one of them. The temp is going to get down to 42 at night. This is going to be miserable.
