Hope this week is treating you well! Today I wanted to chat to you about a new skint tint launch that has been out for a little while but I wanted to test out a lot before I shared my thoughts. We are chatting about the new Kylie Cosmetics Skin Tint Blurring Elixir Foundation , £26.00 30ml.

Now we all know how pleasantly surprised I was by the original Kylie Cosmetics Power Plush Liquid foundation , £29.00 30ml Since my original review it has become one of my favourite foundations to wear! The original foundation was a lightweight formula that gave you satin matte, medium buildable coverage with 12 hour wear. This foundation was perfect because even though it was a medium, matte coverage, it didn't feel heavy on the skin and effortlessly gave you a flawless finish.

However now there's a new kid on the block with 24 flexible shades. Ironically since I'm very fair I wear shade 2C in both collections and it matches me perfectly so I didn't have to worry about finding a new shade. However I would recommend checking your shade at Harrods or Boots just to be safe! I have been wearing this skin tint for 3 weeks now (give or take a day) and I adore it! This new formula follows the trend of lightweight, breathable makeup perfectly.

The new skin tint is described as a "medium, buildable coverage offering up to 12 hours of comfortable wear, gives a natural look that blurs fine lines, pores, and texture and eaves a soft, cushiony feel with an airbrushed, satin finish that’s not too dewy, not too matte". Personally I feel like that description matches really well because I worn the formula quiet sheerly and it looks like my skin but smoother. other times I've built up the formula for a more medium finish and it looks like the original foundation when I've done this. One of my favourite tricks is to actually mix the two foundations together when I want my face base to feel light weight but have a little more coverage.

Overall I adore this Skin Tint and really think that you should try out the formula. Personally I'm not the biggest Kardashian fan but I do have a lot of respect for Kylie Jenner and her brand because she does bring out really great formulas in her brand. So if you can put the name aside I think you'll be really impressed. As always all products mentioned are linked above.

Kotlc collecting habits Pt.1

Basically what I think various kotlc characters (mostly the kids) would collect. other than prattles pins bc we all know everyone collects those so.

this is inspired by my own habits of picking random shit up and stuffing it in my closet.

Sophie: she doesn't rlly have the time to like exclusively go out and collect things she wants. I think she's rlly causal act what she keeps. if she see's a pretty rock? yoink. some nice smelling flowers? she'll pluck a few to maybe sundry when she's not busy saving the world lmao. I do think she would collect garden gnomes tho. Bc of mr. forkle's human house having the gnomes (the most weird or scary looking ones ofc, shoppes a weirdo 100%). It reminds her or her human past, and it also srsly weirds out like everyone who comes Havenfield which is is plus. Like just imagine a whole line of creepy ass gnomes lined up right outside havenfields entrance. She names them all too. they all human names ofc ofc. like bob. and carl. and other such things.

Keefe: I think he collects things based off of ppl if you know what I mean. Like he see's a bottle caps that reminds him of Sophie's exact eye color and adds it to his Sophie collection. Or if he see's like idk a purple rock that reminds him of like that one time Biana painted his nails the most vibrant and gaudy purple color she had, he adds it to his collection of things that remind him of Biana. maybe he adds little pieces of art he did for each person he collects stuff for. idk. Omg and maybe someday like he has all these collections and like the gang happens to fid out, and they start going through that shit. Keefe's so embarrassed and low-key scared they'll be mad, but they all love it. Fitz finally reunites with his long lost Bramble Jersey! Keefe immediately steals it back tho dw. he's such a people person fr. Especially bc of his empathy. He doesn't have collections for his parents. He used to for Gisela but when she was revealed to be a part of the never seen he showed her's into some dark corner of the house and hasn't looked back.

Biana: ikkkk ppl are gonna say that she collects hair pins and like jewelry and makeup and other stuff like that. And she does, She has an entire closet dedicated to dresses and shoes she has over the year. Like this is canonical. But her most prized and valued collection, is her stick collection. She has so many sticks. She has such stick fight vibes. She used to beat Keefe and fitz up with them. She organizes them by height. She lovingly pets them all. No one is allowed to touch her sticks. Biana = stick girl. One time when the gang was like idk practicing fighting with their bodyguards, she found the biggest most beautiful stick ever and literally screamed. No one knew why Biana, the girliest of girlies (said lovingly ily Biana) was so worked up over a stick. It's ok Biana, sticks r amazing fr.

Dex: I feel like before he became a techno path, he would collect like plant ingredients for different potions and elixirs needed at slurps and burps. He likes the idea of being useful, bc all his life he's been seen as a mistake. He's trying to prove his worth constantly. Kesler happened to ask him to get a like plant in front of a noble, and the noble complimented Dex on being such a good kid, so now he's like oh, I'm a good kid! which makes me so sad. But also he collects like useful things exclusively bc of the triplets. Like he can't bring shiny rocks or shells that he finds on the beach bc the triplets will get to it so fast that he won't even be able to like have a collection to adds things to. Instead, he collects pieces of scrap metal, herbs, wires, wood pieces, etc. so that he has the excuse of saying that this is material he needs for gadgets and elixirs and whatnot, so the triplets can't steal/break anything. he collects pens too( he is anti pencil).

Linh: Because of her being banshed for like 3+ years, I can't say that Linh is a big collector, neither is her brother. She didn't have the means to have things simply for enjoyment. Whatever little she owned went to keeping her and her brother alive and fed. It's hardcoded into to only take what she needs and nothing more bc of her previous life style. But now that she lives with Tiergan (NOT choralmere I REFUSE), I think she might start buying like little trinkets. Maybe stickers or small bracelets, or charms. keychains. Friendship necklaces. She would definitely buy lotttttts of excess things for princess purryfins. Like fancy collars, or little animal clothes. combs to brush her hair. Linh spoils her sm I swear. I wish is was Princess purryfins fr. I also think she would invest in a lottt of water proof clothing/goggles/etc. Like overly so. More than she needs. it's a way of calming her anxiety act her ability. Even if she messes up and loses control, at least she and everyone in Tiergan's house (I forgot what hi should is called) will stay dry. She hasn't fucked up completely.

Bownes Before His Initial Post? What was our beloved host like before?

He had been living by himself for four years before Scare, aka his first guest, came a long.

Most of his wardrobe consists of pink, but he also has so clothes that are colored in pastel blues and greens and purples, as well as some brown or cream colored attire.

He always has a very very faint smell of sea salt on him, no matter what perfume he wears (but it is VERY faint.)

His signature scent is “Burberry Her Elixir” which smells like a strawberry vanilla milkshake

He gets chilly really easily, that won’t stop him from wearing his pink open-shoulder turtle neck!

He loves making seashell necklaces, he gave one to Scare and intends on giving one to Elias and Icarus.

He has way too many pearl necklaces (just kidding, there’s no such thing as too many pearls)

He has a really thorough skin care, hair care, and even nail care routine. He always wants to look presentable for guests!

He likes wearing makeup, but he only ever wears it on special occasions. Except for that one time recently! Then it was all smeared off when Euryale attacked him.

‘Put your glasses on, Eggsy.’ Merlin sighed, and Harry couldn’t help but laugh at him. ‘Stop your laughing.’

‘I told you that book would bite us in the arse someday, but no you needed to have a record-’

‘There’s only so much space in the human brain, Harry, how else are we supposed to keep track-’

‘Boys, boys, ain’t no need to argue about shit- I just wanna know. I been with you ages, I fuckin’ live in your house, and you lot’ve got more makeup stashed about than one of them internet models. Wouldn’ it be easier not to have to lie all the fuckin’ time?’ Eggsy jumped in, having somehow managed to tap into their line- which would normally be something to worry about but at the moment was at the bottom of Merlin’s list of cares.

‘I don’t remember how long ago it was- a millenia, I think?- I stopped for a drink of water on the way back home. Brought as much as I could carry home- I’d often forget to get water from the well, while working. I’ve always been a man of science, though what I was interested in was called magic at the time, and I had a task ahead of me that many people of the time thought impossible.’ Merlin began, and Eggsy closed the book. ‘I managed it-’

‘Of course you did,’ Eggsy interrupted, grin on his face, and as irksome as the interruption was the grin set Merlin at ease. It, more than anything, let Merlin know that this wasn’t going to end poorly, with the loss of Eggsy from their lives- it would just be… complicated… for a time.

‘I managed it but it was a lot of trial and error. I’d been throwing things together at random, tested things on some animals I’d trapped in the forest, eventually tasting one thing before inhaling fumes from another- as much a mad scientist as you could imagine- before getting the combination right. I delivered my creation and some supplies to the person I thought most likely to succeed in the idea we lot had crafted together, and went home to wait.’

‘When I got back,’ Harry jumped in, ‘months later, I confronted Merlin in his chambers. Demanded to know what devil he’d sold his soul to to see our mission completed, shoved him into a wall with a blade-’

‘I think he gets it-’

‘And until I saw the absolute confusion in his face I’d no idea that he’d had no idea-’

‘It was entirely an accident-’

‘Easy t’see you’ve never told this story before cos I got no idea what’s going on. You’re usually better at givin’ the facts, Merlin.’

‘Well it’s not every day you have to tell someone that you accidentally made King Arthur immortal.’ He snapped, ears red in a strange mix of embarrassment and fury, accompanied by Harry’s howling laughter at Eggsy’s face. Eggsy’d jumped as if electrocuted, sending the book to the floor and accidentally kicking it with a twitching foot so hard that it slammed into the leg of a nearby table, which caused a mug to fall and shatter.

It was the sort of thing film sets contrived to make the audience laugh in an otherwise tense moment- and, in this, Harry was the audience of one. Eggsy’s jaw dropped and Merlin growled to himself and cleaned the mess before turning back to the computer screen he’d been focusing on before Eggsy’s intrusion. Not truly seeing it, just pretending while he tried to pull himself together.

‘You’re tryin’ to tell me that you,’ Eggsy pointed at Merlin, ‘made some shit that accidentally made King Arthur immortal and then fuck knows how much later ended up here where the whole place is themed for King bloody Arthur?’ Eggsy was laughing, having snapped from shock to acceptance in a fraction of a moment, obviously only half speaking to Merlin as Harry’s laughter renewed itself for a moment. Merlin pulled a flask from his desk and poured the contents into a glass before setting it on the table before Eggsy.

‘Not quite, Eggsy,’ Harry breathed, seeming to understand Merlin’s continued silence as a cue to take the story over. ‘You see, I can’t even remember what the elixir was that Merlin sent me off with that day, that journey, so long before there were any real consequences and all we had was a collection of ideas. But, I do remember the traveler’s flask he’d passed to me, filled with water that tasted of sunlight.’ Harry sent a message to Merlin’s lenses, a simply understood ?????, but Merlin ignored him.

‘Not sure I get what you’re saying, Haz.’

‘The water, Eggsy,’ Harry said softly, whether from lack of breath of an attempt to make the facts easier to swallow he couldn’t tell, ‘it wasn’t anything Merlin had concocted, it was the water he’d brought back from the spring. Neither of us had any idea until I lost my temper with him when I got back. I’d pulled a dagger to try and scare Merlin into explaining the devilry he’d managed, and miscalculated-’ I’m not even THERE you arsehole another chat bubble appeared, and Merlin ignored that one as well before feigning outrage.

‘Miscalculated?! You stabbed me in the neck because you tripped-’

‘And nothing happened when the blade pierced his flesh. There was no blood; in fact Merlin didn’t quite know what had happened at first and continued to babble on as if nothing was amiss. Meanwhile I was so frozen in terror I couldn’t breathe which I then discovered I had no need to. Which is an odd thing to adjust to-’

‘You don’t have to breathe?’

‘Let me finish, Eggsy- we’ve spent the years since trying to solve the mystery of the spring- luckily Kingsman has near limitless resources- and the pair of us have made it our business to be masters of illusion in whatever technology develops. Yes,’ Harry interrupted Eggsy’s attempt to speak, ‘that means makeup. And every other kind of theatrical illusion that can be translated to the modern day- manipulating clothing so that others’ gaze is where you intend it to be and nowhere else.’

‘That is sick.’

‘There’s more than one reason to make a covert agency’s cover a tailor’s shop- both historically an excellent place to obtain information surreptitiously and a useful skill to hone when one must be covert.’

‘Which brings me to my next point- how long ago did you find the book, Eggsy? You never let on that something wasn’t sitting right with you.’

‘When I moved in; you shits didn’t so much as make space for me as drag me in like a fuckin’ sarlacc and expect me to make myself at home. Which I did-’ Eggsy panicked to add, seeing the hurt bloom on Merlin’s face at his statement, ‘don’t get me wrong I love that you didn’ even think about it, that you thought I’d fit that seamlessly into your home, but I started explorin’ and you got loads of weird shit hidden about. I thought it was a gag gift at first but it was too good, y’get me? But figured you lot’d tell me when you felt ready- didn’ realise I’d have to prise it from you myself.’

‘We’ve never had someone we wanted to tell before, Eggsy, if this spectacular shitshow doesn’t make that clear.’ Merlin spoke up for the first time in a long while, having finally pulled himself and his decision together. ‘But we were always going to tell you, once we figured out how. We didn’t even have to tell each other, this is literally uncharted territory, but,’ Merlin shook his head and met Eggsy’s gaze evenly, ‘that doesn’t make it undesired.

‘For your average person, a moment like this would have a fancy dinner, some romantic shite and a ring,’ Eggsy didn’t look away from Merlin, didn’t dare to blink, but it was easy to see the moisture welling in his eyes. Even if he was being a bit misleading, the intent here was the same. You’re here, Arthur- here we are, and here he is Merlin sent back, and he could hear Harry’s huff of laughter.

‘What Merlin’s trying to tell you, Eggsy, is that we have no intention of letting you get away from us. We’d like nothing more than to spend the rest of our lives with you.’ Harry whispered, and Eggsy couldn’t stop a tear from escaping though he wiped it away quickly.

‘Don’t you mean the rest of my life?’ His jaw was clenched, and Merlin could see the sad smile pulling at the edge of his mouth. The heartbreak he was causing himself.

‘We do a lot for the world; we risk the things we know others can’t, and we have been glad to do it and are glad to keep doing so- but we’ve allowed ourselves to suffer. We’ve distanced ourselves and made shite choices and we hadn’t even noticed how far we’d fallen from the path until you.

‘So no, Eggsy, we don’t mean the rest of your life-’ Merlin leant forward and pushed the glass across the tabletop, ‘we mean the rest of ours.’ 

Eggsy looked down, seemingly noticing the glass on the tabletop for the first time, and gasped. One hand pressed to his lips while the other twitched in his lap, as if Eggsy was holding himself back from taking it, and Merlin forgot to breathe.

‘... Are you sure?’ Eggsy whispered, having finally pulled his hand from his face as he searched Merlin’s eyes imploringly. As if there was something else mysterious and unseen happening at this moment. As if the rug was going to be pulled from beneath him if he lifted the glass from the table.

‘I can’t claim it will be easy, lad- and there’s no way to undo it. In a few hundred years if we argue, if we break, you’ll have to continue on. Perhaps we’ll find each other again, but maybe not.’

‘You two broke before?’

‘A couple dozen times, easily, but we took a few years apart and came back stronger for it, in the end. But, Eggsy, you’ll have to grow used to seeing the things you care for disappear, or change beyond recognition. It could break you, even if we don’t fall apart.’ Harry whispered, and Merlin watched as Eggsy swallowed heavily, eyes still on the glass, before he reached past it and pulled one of Merlin’s hands forward.

‘You think we can make it, Merthur?’ Eggsy looked up at him from between his lashes, tongue poking out and a cheeky grin breaking through.

‘Who?’

‘Y’know, Merthur, one of them couple names. Merlin and Arthur. Shove a bit of his and a bit of yours in there to get somethin’ new. D’you really think we can make it? Me ‘n you?’

‘Have you ever known me to make a decision without being certain of the outcome?’

‘No, but I still got to ask, yeah? This is big, this ain’t like movin’ in together, or a marriage, even; this is big. And, yeah, it’s gonna be heartbreakin’ at first- havin’ to watch everything go on without me- but,’ Eggsy squeezed Merlin’s hand and rubbed a thumb across his knuckles before he pulled away, ‘I’ve never done shite cos it was easy.’ As if he’d never hesitated in the first place, Eggsy threw back the glass of water with a smile that outshone the full moon on a cloudless sky.

‘Y’know, never thought about it before but Harry- Arthur- was right.’ Eggsy said a moment after, staring at the now-empty glass as he licked his lips.

‘About what?’

‘It does taste like sunlight.’

FusionFall Headcanons: The Rise of Lord Fuse

Fuse is a powerful enough enemy to be massive competition for Vilgax, comfortably dismiss a demonic entity like Him, and cause almost all of the villains of Earth to unite with the heroes against his army.  He’s faced some rare losses in the past (such as against the Glorft’s homeworld) and has spared some planets so long as they can aid his intergalactic conquest (like with Anur Phaetos); however, with little to no information on how and why this was so, he seems to be a pretty unstoppable force. Even Samurai Jack has commented that hope would be lost if Fuse ever managed to fully manifest on Earth and has concerns over the planet’s slim chances.  

(What I’m about to go into with this series of headcanons is going to enter a lot of theory territory, just based on what small information like above that we’ve been given and from comparing Fuse to other CN villains.  It’s a story very much with me filling in stuff to connect random dots, so some parts are curveballs thrown in the dark to see what sticks. Either way, hope you enjoy!)

Gonna jump right in with the curveballs: I think Fuse might have a similar origin to Aku. This theory comes from the various similarities between the two: Their each having existed for well over a millennium; their undying love of conquest; the planets under their control losing the bulk of their original, organic lifeforms to instead be replaced with monsters and visibly scarred landscapes inspired by the makeup of their conquerors; their ability to corrupt/possess other lifeforms if they end up infected by their matter; little to no life being able to survive in environments made up completely of said matter; their limited weaknesses relying partially on some spiritual element (more on this in the bullet below); and each choosing Demongo/Fusion Demongo as one of their top minions. However, going back to some of Samurai Jack’s dialogue, Fuse isn’t anywhere near as strong as Aku is either, so with that in mind why would one of Earth’s greatest heroes be worried about losing to him?  Well, if they have a similar makeup, they’re effectively two pieces cut from the same cloth--just stitched into different things. Similar to how Aku only gained sentience and some of his other abilities after Jack’s father, the Emperor, fired an arrow dipped in poisoned elixir into the black mass he spawned from, I believe Fuse gained life from Planet Fusion--his initial makeup combining with that of the world’s own to create fusion matter in its current state and eventually adapting to give Fuse sentience as well as complete control over the planet. (Effectively, a weaker version of what might have been had Aku’s own darkness had been allowed to spread prior to his creation.)

Now, as to those weaknesses. this is where Aku and Fuse would start to differ because--unlike Aku--Fuse does have some clear, solely physical limits.  Fuse and Planet Fusion are practically one and the same: He can’t manifest anywhere where there isn’t a strong concentration of fusion matter whereas Aku had free mobility from what would later become known as the Pit of Hate. On Earth, Imaginary Energy (IE) is the strongest weapon the Fusion Fighters have against him and is combined with both their Nanos and tech. (This can potentially also parallel how normal weapons won’t work on Aku, but Jack’s sword can due to it being forged from the Emperor’s own righteousness.)  Still, other things have pushed Fuse’s army back too, such as the activation of the various totems located on Earth and the meteorite found in the Haunted Ridge. It’s possible they too have something to do with IE or a similar energy, but without further information it’s hard to say.  Either way, it seems to be that his symbiotic state with Planet Fusion means that Fuse himself is forced to depend on the world’s own strengths and succumb to its weaknesses.  If a part of him was born from the same original, evil mass that spawned Aku, it was likely an even smaller, damaged fragment than what Aku came from that needed to rely on the planet’s energy in order to sustain itself.  Or, if Planet Fuse had any previous inhabitants, maybe whatever they did to try to stop the takeover of their world only ended up blending the two powers.

Sidetracking here, but this would also address why it was a terrifying concern when Fuse’s army had collected a fragment from the Shadow of Aku, as well as why Aku himself doesn’t make an appearance in the game. If Demongo is to be believed and Aku is in hiding (more than likely in a severely weakened state from his battles with Samurai Jack), he’s probably biding his time to regain control over his world: He’s not gonna share with what’s basically a much weaker version of himself.  While it’s unlikely that they’d work together (or else they already would have by now), there’s a grave chance the two forces would either try absorbing each other’s powers or creating another one of themselves--this time, however, under their own control.  Aku is likely building back his own strength, personally unaffected by the fusion matter bubbling around him in whatever pit he’s in. Right now, it’s believed by many that even Demongo’s probably ordered to be on Earth’s side only because Fuse is the bigger, more pressing issue--even distracting Jack from his life’s mission--as well as letting the flaming, blue demon glance over the Fusion Fighters to take his pick of the litter of souls if/when the “alliance” does end. How their nano versions may effect these plans, however, remains to be seen...

Planet Fusion has continuously gained power by absorbing other worlds in its intergalactic conquest--Fuse’s control over the world being strong enough to actually break it from it from it’s original system’s gravitational pull and steer it like a massive ship across space. In this sense, he could probably crush numerous other worlds just by side-swiping them with his own, but he can’t absorb them without their first successfully breaking them down with fusion matter.

Both his Fusions and fusion monsters exist in a hivemind, and he doesn’t really have a care for them as most will simply morph back into regular fusion matter after a world is conquered to reform into something new on the next. The exceptions are for minions who show a particular skill from a world he already conquered that could prove useful in future invasions--skills that can only be obtained by manifesting from some element of that world/individual they’re copied from.  Usually, these too inevitably later fall unless Fuse hangs on to some personal item or DNA source to recreate them.  He has a small collection of such souvenirs, which he plans on greatly expanding after seeing the various strengths and abilities of Earth’s forces.

Blogmas Charlotte Tilbury hydrating skincare 🤍

Hi guys,

Since it's been so cold lately I wanted to talk you through my winter Charlotte Tilbury routine. During the colder months my skin needs more hydration so today I wanted to chat you through products that really help my skin. So today we are chatting about my favourite Tilbury skincare products and if you want to see an affordable drugstore skincare version let me know.

Let's start at the beginning of my routine after I have washed and double cleansed my face, I pick up the Glow Toner, £40.00. I love this toner because it is a pore-refining, acid-free hydrating toner with niacinamide for baby soft, smooth feeling skin and pores that appear reduced. I love how fresh my skin feels everytime I use this and glow it gives me after. It is also really good at removing dirt / dead skin cells from your complexion. I'm obsessed and use it every morning.

Next up I use a product I recently added to my collection the Magic Hydrating Mist, £35.00. On Charlotte's site she normally recommends doing this step before the Glow Toner but I don't want to then remove it with toner so I swap it around. If you haven't seen the Hydrating Mist, this is a new product in Charlotte's skincare wardrobe and it is a mist that oxygenating, hydrating face mist with hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and pollution defence for an instant dewy glow on-the-go

In the past few years I have been obsessed with serum and using it after the first 2 steps feels like I'm looking in all that hydration. The Magic Serum Crystal Elixir, £65.00 has been my go to serum for 4+ years now and I owe a lot to it. Before I used it my skin was so oily and I felt like my skin was dull but having used it everyday for 4 years now my skin texture is amazing compared to what it was. Since my skin is more hydrated using these products I'm less oily because my skin isn't making up for hydration it's missing. When I started using this serum I didn't expect it to make my skin look so much brighter and just give me a nice healthy glow. Even on days when I'm not wearing makeup I will always have serum on.

Lastly we have the Magic Water Cream, £79.00. This cream has been designed for the "dehydration nation" as Charlotte says. Like the original cream this one cream will make your skin feel softer, more plump and boosts skin hydration 100% ( can't confirm stats from website but does feel amazing). I love using this cream because my skin feels way more hydrated when I use it and my dry patches are way less intense when I'm wearing makeup. Using this cream with the other products really helps my skin texture feel smooth and hydrated but you could also use this cream itself and feel like your skin is 10x better.

Though I know it's a pricey skincare collection to purchase, from my own experience the products are amazing and have really helped my skin type and texture improve. Product Review : Bjork & Berries

I recently discovered a gorgeous new brand called Björk & Berries !

“Björk, the Swedish word for Birch, also known as the life giving tree, is one of their signature ingredients. The tree symbolises their mission to create clean, natural and organic skin care and fragrances, inspired by the volatile seasons and uniqueness of the Swedish nature.”

Here’s a little review on two of their products :

Gentle & Nourishing Cleansing Gel

The first product I tried from Bjork & Berries was their Cleansing Gel. The pink clay cleansing gel comes in a large white bottle with a pump and I think on first impression the packaging is really sweet. It’s fragrance free and works to gently clean skin before hydrating. It applies like a gel , doesn’t foam up too much and works a treat at clearing off dirt and old makeup.

Key Ingredients to soothe skin & draw out impurities include :

organic green mandarin

pink kaolin clay

Birch Recovery Facial Oil

Next I tried their Birch Recovery Facial Oil. Key ingredients include a potent botanic blend of borage , birch leaf extract and organic jojoba oil to hydrate :

Stylist UK said “borage oil would be set for big things in 2019 (also known as borage seed oil or starflower oil). This golden elixir boasts one seriously incredible super-power. “It’s rich in gamma linolenic acid (GLA),” explains Dr Pauline Hili, fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry and founder of Nourish London.”

The plant is a bee favourite too as it’s flowers contain a bigger hit of nectar than most! The flowers are also edible and work well frozen into ice cubes . You can see my borage in our north london garden at the height of its glory with bees busy as ever above and below!

The oil has a sort of fruity fragrance and gives a lovely glow to skin once absorbed.

During my teens, I listened to a lot of metal and industrial; the heavier the better. It made me feel good, feel strong when I wasn’t in control of so many aspects of my life at the time. I saw a lot of live music, collected t-shirts of obscure bands, and screamed in rage alongside bands like Fear Factory, Morbid Angel and White Zombie. I wore a lot of black, ringing my eyes in liner and mascara, and blended Cover Girl foundation furiously into my complexion to contrast starkly against my dark hair.

Now that both my skills and taste in products have become better, I decided to play up my industrial side (including an industrial barbell in my left ear), complete with an old Ministry shirt.  A gathering of clean tools included my Beauty Blender, Sephora Pro Collection Fan Brush 53 for contouring, Morphe M124 for shadow application and blending, and good old Lancôme flat-top blush brush #75.

When I went for colour selection, that was actually what I didn’t want: colour. I chose blacks and greys, and the palest foundation I could find — Sephora Collection Airbrush Foundation in Cream. The black products came in the form of Phoera Cream Eyeshadow in 08 Midnight, and the same colour name and number to the Phoera Matte Glitter Lip Stain.

To be honest, I loved the lip stain, which was creamy and black as tar until tacky; I pressed my lips together and the more I manipulated this awesome product, the more glittery it became, like stars coming out on a dark night. The shadow, on the other hand, while glittery, had almost no pigment when I blended it out. Disappointing!

Over this I applied Blackheart to get the depth of pigment that I wanted, and moved on to filling my brows with Dark Grey brow powder from my usual Kiss i-Envy brand. The powder itself shattered, so eventually I’ll get around to making a paste of it out of rubbing alcohol of 70% or higher (I use 99%, myself). When the alcohol evaporates, the powder will be usable again as a whole rather than patting at grains of shattered product in the bottom of a pan.

Liner was ringed against my waterline in Feline, by MAC, and that was followed by an application of false lashes; these were an old favourite from House of Lashes: Noir Fairy. Duo Glue and Kush Mascara finished up this black-black-black-black-number-one eye makeup, and all that was left was the epic decision of “do I wear bangs or no?” I couldn’t decide, so I caught pictures of my hair both ways.

Once I was done grabbing the selfies I really liked, it all came off using Farmacy Green Clean oil cleanser, because GOSH those Phoera products are waterproof, and that was impressive. A drop of LaNeige’s Water Bank Creme mixed with two drops of Farsáli’s Volcanic Elixir had my skin glowing and clean and ready for me to crash out.
