⭐️ Finally starting a long yearned for series - a new long-term project. #sabinesminis #sabinesmemoirs #wabisabicollage #sabines6x6 ✂️ Mini collages in 6 × 6 cm on cards from the children's game #Memory. The small format encourages me to decide quickly and spontaneously, to be not to precious, to try out a lot without overthinking. I like the idea, that formerly classical black and white photos are now being given a new, playful face. I appreciate the object-like character on the thick cardboard that feels good to the touch. Adding a minimalist word fragment is a nice challenge. The #collagecard should be imperfect, slightly object-like and incomplete. Just as I am interested in the #Wabisabi philosophy at the moment: the beauty of imperfect, defective, broken, long lived materials . In my case photographs. The analogue enlargements are 30 years old and older and I wish to express new appreciation for the fragments. The 6 × 6 cm format particularly appeals to me because it alludes to my archive full of analogue negatives in medium format on 120 roll film, which are then 6 × 6 cm in size. Last but not least I have found that collaging in this style is good for me. Cutting, tearing and combining is a powerful and fulfilling activity that helps to navigate moments of personal crisis.
