🧲 - Magnetic Marvels: Researchers Flip the Switch on Depression
1. New Zealand Government announces prescriptions charges will be free.
Tumblr media
The $5 prescription fee at pharmacies will be scrapped in July. This is set to save about 3 million people a year money, and in particular 770,000 people aged over 65. It will make most prescriptions in New Zealand free.
Free access to medicines is also hoped to ease pressure on the over-burdened health system by helping people get medicines sooner.
2. Platypuses return to Sydney's Royal National Park after disappearing for decades
Tumblr media
Platypuses have been relocated to the Royal National Park in Sydney, after they disappeared from the park's waterways about 50 years ago. A joint project by the University of New South Wales, NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service and the World Wildlife Fund has reintroduced five females to the Hacking River, with a group of males to follow next week.
3. 74-year-old musician Otis Taylor gets Denver high school diploma decades after being expelled for hair
Tumblr media
A musician who was expelled from a Denver high school over 50 years ago received his diploma. Otis Taylor was kicked out of Manual High School in 1966 because of his hair. This was decades before laws ending racial hair discrimination. Denver Public Schools wanted to right a wrong.
4. Researchers treat depression by reversing brain signals traveling the wrong way (with magnets)
Tumblr media
A new study led by Stanford Medicine researchers is the first to reveal how magnetic stimulation treats severe depression: by correcting the abnormal flow of brain signals. Powerful magnetic pulses applied to the scalp to stimulate the brain can bring fast relief to many severely depressed patients for whom standard treatments have failed.
The FDA-cleared treatment, known as Stanford neuromodulation therapy, incorporates advanced imaging technologies to guide stimulation with high-dose patterns of magnetic pulses that can modify brain activity related to major depression. Compared with traditional TMS, which requires daily sessions over several weeks or months, SNT works on an accelerated timeline of 10 sessions each day for just five days.
5. Electricity generation through solar, wind and water exceeded total demand in mainland Spain on Tuesday, a pattern that will be repeated more and more in the future
Tumblr media
The Spanish power grid on Tuesday tasted an appetizer of the renewable energy banquet that is expected to flourish in the coming years. For nine hours, between 10 a.m. and 7 p.m., the generation of green electricity was more than enough to cover 100% of Spanish peninsular demand, a milestone that had already been reached on previous occasions, but not for such a prolonged period.
6. RI Senate passes bill making lunch free at all public schools
Tumblr media
Free lunch for all public school students in Rhode Island is one step closer to becoming a reality.
Tuesday night the Rhode Island Senate overwhelmingly passed a bill by a vote of 31-4 that would do just that. If the companion bill in the House were to pass, that takes effect July 1. The bill would make breakfast and lunch free for all public school students in the state, regardless of their household income.
7. Critically endangered red wolf pups born at North Carolina Zoo
The North Carolina Zoo in Asheboro celebrated the arrival of “not one but TWO litters” of the world’s most endangered wolf – the red wolf – in late April and early May.
A total of nine pups were born – three to parents Marsh and Roan, and six to Denali and May – the zoo announced on May 9.

Pairing: Bucky x Reader
Summary: Reader finds herself crushing on her sister’s ex boyfriend after they run in to each other years after the break up.
Word Count: 4,670
Warnings: 18+, smut, no condoms, dirty talk
Taglist: @jbbarnes-dog-tags
‘And substitute regular milk for oat milk please.’
You type a quick ‘okay’ to your sister as you head to the coffee shop that you frequent almost every day. Today’s weather is sort of gloomy but nice. Lately it’s been rainy, mild showers and light thunderstorms. Your favorite kind of weather to have a latte while accompanied with a book. You scrub the bottom of your shoes against the coffee’s welcome mat to prevent tracking in mud or leaves.
“Good morning, welcome to Aristocrats!” You thank the familiar barista as you head to the counter pulling out your phone to order both drinks.
“What can I get you?” The barista asks with a smile on their face.
“Can I get a hot vanilla latte with 2 shots of espresso and oatmilk?” The employee mumbles the order back as they input it into the system as you continue.
“I also would like an iced chai latte with 3 pumps of brown sugar syrup instead of vanilla. As well as one shot of espresso, thank you.” You put your phone away as you get your wallet out from your bag.
“$15.28, cash or card?” The barista asks as you hand them your card to swipe.
You find a few dollar bills stashed in your bag as you drop it into the tip jar.
“Thank you, just give us a few minutes.” Handing you the card back you put it back into its usual spot as you crumble the receipt into the bag.
One of the reasons why you love this coffee shop isn’t just for the drinks but the book collection they have along with the scenery. It’s located downtown with windows that face the street that pour in natural light. The owner kept most of its natural architecture. Which included the layout, windows that surround the building on two walls, as well as the little fireplace that runs on cold days.
As you wait for the drinks you browse a few magazines near a table before you find one that peaks your interest. You situate yourself near a bar in front of the front facing windows to take advantage of the light that projects in. You flip through the first couple pages not caring for the luxurious ads of Gucci or Louis Vuitton. You never understood why anyone would spend thousands on a bag. You ignore the bell above the door that signals a customer as you continue reading about a woman’s divorce and her advice. While you have never been married it’s interesting to read about people’s lives.
“Here you go, hot vanilla latte and an iced chai.” The barista sets the drinks down as you reply with a thank you.
You look towards the counter as you spot a man ordering. Something along the lines of an americano. Typical. Men never go for good drinks. Reaching for your drink you realize you forgot a straw. Getting up you head to the side of the counter to grab one. As you begin to reach for one another, one hand is trying to grab a cocktail straw for their drink. You quickly retreat your hand back apologizing.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t see you there.” You say, embarrassed as if you were in his space.
“No troubles, you’re fine.” You turn to him finally getting a good look at him as he does the same.
“Oh shit, hey kid. How’ve you been?” It’s Bucky, your sister's ex-boyfriend. His eyes light up as he smiles at you. Like he’s excited to see you.
“I’ve been good. I finished up my last semester early. In December I graduated well. I didn't walk but I received the diploma which is just as good.” He crosses his arms as he listens to you furrowing his eyebrows that he always used to when listening intently.
He smiles as he lightly pats your upper arm in congratulations, “Hey that's great, really, you find any jobs or anything yet?”
“No, I mean I have but the pay is so shit that it’s not even worth it.” He nods understanding the job market has plummeted.
“I get that, if I hadn’t secured the job I have now a few years ago I probably would be back in school not knowing what to do.” Bucky came from an affluent family. His family always had money due to businesses, properties, and of course trusts and estates. His comment comes off a little tone deaf but you know he means well just trying to relate.
“Thanks,” he says as he grabs the drink from the barista as he begins adding a little packet of heavy cream.
“You stay around here? Or often?” He questions out of curiosity but also a small part of him hopes you say yes.
“Oh yeah. I moved back in with my parents after college. I mean- I don’t have a job so I really had no choice.” You hope you don’t sound like a complete fool of yourself. No job, living with parents, and your daily activities consist of getting coffee and reading.
“You’re still figuring it out, there’s no time limit.” His words comfort you, making you feel less alone. Even if he can’t exactly relate, it’s still nice to have someone understand your struggles.
Bucky continues to ask, “If you got a few minutes, you mind if we sit and catch up?” You smile and nod, letting out a small yes as you lead him to your little nook.
You're laughing at some story he’s telling from a recent event he went to where a kid found drawing on the walls of an art exhibit.
“Oh no, did the parents do anything?” You ask taking a sip of your mostly watered down chai.
“God no, remember these people think that their kids can do no wrong. Instead the dad threw him over his shoulder as they left quickly.” His answer made you shake your head wondering how parents never discipline their children.
“What have you been up to? Last thing I heard you were supposed to be taking over the family business.” The family business was just that- business. It was just managing properties, selling, and trading. But it brought in so much revenue. It’s the most popular realtor company in the state along with locations in neighboring states. It was started in the 40’s by Bucky’s great great grandfather and has now succeeded multiple generations.
“I have, well not entirely. I told my dad that I wanted to travel some first before settling with the job. Once you’re in that position all you can do is live for work, live to work. It just seems exhausting.” He sighs as he runs his hand through his short hair.
“You know I have a degree in Architecture, and I want to put that to use but my dad keeps pressuring me to take over the business. The money is good-
You cut him off,“But is it worth it? Money is great but if you aren’t happy with your job or what you do, no amount of money can compare to your happiness.”
“Yes, exactly. I’ve been sort of going back and forth on it but maybe I just need to go with what I want rather than what someone else wants.” Saying the quiet part outloud made Bucky realize that he wants to do what makes him happy regardless of money or fortune.
“You know you’re pretty insightful for your age. I wish I was like that when I was in my early 20s. But you seem so grounded. That’s very admirable Y/N.” The compliment causes your heart to skip a beat. You usually don’t get too many compliments, especially not on your mental or emotional intelligence.
“Thank you, it’s probably the books and because I’m the youngest child.” Your sister and you have a 10 year age gap that didn’t really help form a sibling relationship until you entered high school.
You weren’t planned which resulted in a little bit (a lot) of negligence from your parents. They had albums of pictures of her, always went to her events, and constantly doted on her. You were the youngest and the last. You were often thought of last. If you wanted them to make it to your events, school lunches, or any activity they'd send your grandparents. Which you became very close with at a young age because they noticed the difference between you and your sister. They never made you feel like a burden or second thoughts. You’ll always be grateful for that. Your parents apologized to you when you were older but the childhood trauma still stuck.
“I forgot you guys did have an age gap. I guess it’s more noticeable when you were younger.” His comment glides over, not caring to bring up your sister, his ex-girlfriend. Which you’re kind of happy about since he asked to catch up with you and he genuinely meant it.
Before he can get another word in your phone lights up, your sister is calling.
“You need to get that?” Bucky asks, noticing the screen.
“Yeah probably.” You sigh internally knowing that the coffee catch up is ending soon.
You swipe on the screen as you hold up a finger to give you a second.
“Where are you? It’s been an hour, I thought you said you were just getting coffee, not running errands.” Her voice is a little upset and can be heard by Bucky which makes you cringe a little.
“I’m sorry, I ran into someone and wanted to catch up.” Yeah her ex who you seem to be getting along with a little too well.
“It’s fine. I just didn’t know where my coffee was. Or you.” The last part was thrown in quickly to save herself. You know she doesn’t mean to be rude but that’s just how she can be.
“I’ll be home soon, sorry for taking so long. I didn’t realize how long I was out.” You really didn’t mean to take so long but the conversation lasted longer than expected.
The phone beep indicates a hang up as her reply.
“I’m sorry, I guess I got to go. But it was really nice seeing you again.” You stand up to gather your belongings.
“I really enjoyed it. I had a nice time, I really needed it.” Bucky meant what he said. It had been a while since he had a genuine conversation that wasn’t about work or mundane questions.
“Maybe we can catch up again, I mean I obviously don’t work so I’m always free.” You're hopeful that he’ll agree instead of it just being a one time occurrence.
“You have my number still? Or can I get yours?” You shake your head not remembering if your phone transferred his contact from the last time you updated it.
He grabs his phone to unlock it and lets you type in your number. Once you save your contact you head towards the door,“I got to run, but like I said just message me whenever you’re free. I can always make time.” I can always make time for you is what you wanted to say but bit your tongue instead.
“For sure, I’ll text you soon.” He promises as he watches you walk out of the small coffee shop knowing he’s already forming a liking to you.
It’s been a few months since you ran into Bucky at the coffee shop. Since that day you guys had been messaging non stop. Which quickly turned into late night phone calls that made your stomach hurt from laughing and cheeks sore from smiling. You only get together once a week since he’s still helping his dad and it took up most of his day. But he never fails to call or message you throughout the day to let you know what he’s up to. You’ve learned a lot from each other these past few months. He loves classic cars, museums, and fashion. He doesn’t care much for the bars but will go when his friends plan to. He designs a lot and is great at drawing too. He enjoys taking you out to museums, botanicals, and lately since the weather is better he’s taken you on hike trails. In return you’ve introduced him to books you enjoy and have started listening to audiobooks together. You’ve also found out how to make your own coffee. Bucky has an espresso machine in his condo that he never used. But together you guys figured out how to make your favorite drinks. Though you still go to the same coffee shop for convenience. It’s been a week since you’ve hung out and you expect a hangout session is due.
It’s morning when you get an unexpected call from Bucky. You answer without hesitation excited to hear his voice.
“Hey, what’s up?” You ask as you sit on your bed anticipating his message.
“What are you doing?” He sounds like he has a smile on his face, which you picked up quickly through the phone calls how his voice and facial expressions match.
“Nothing, just at home.” You look over at the clock next to you flashing 9:52 a.m.
“Would you be opposed to packing a bag and going to the next state over?” At first you thought he was joking until he said “you there?”
“No, I mean yes that sounds fun.I’d love to tag along” You say quickly gathering yourself.
“Perfect. I can be there in an hour. Just got to drop off a few things for my dad and I’ll be on the way. You won’t need much, just a few things to last a night or so. Oh and pack a nice dress, I want to take you on a date.” Your heart flutters at the word date, he hadn’t used that word yet, neither have you. It was sort of a weird territory but this solidified there is more.
“Sounds good, I’ll see you then!” You hang up letting the phone fall on the bed as you rush to get ready and pack looking forward to the night.
You arrived around a little after 3 in the next state. But since you couldn’t check in until 4 o’clock Bucky showed you a few places around the city. You ventured into antique shops, locally owned book shops, and of course you had to try a coffee shop. He offered to buy you whatever you wanted and insisted that you had to pick out at least one thing that he could buy you or else you couldn’t leave the store. You opted for a few books (it was five in total of hardcover books you could never find near you and were too expensive to order online). He seemed pleased to be funding your reading addiction.
You check your phone’s time making sure you’re not late getting ready. Bucky said to be ready by 6:45 and you’re cutting it close at 6:30 trying to finish a few makeup touch ups.  And you haven’t even gotten dressed yet. Bucky left the room an hour ago so you could get ready in private. He didn’t want to intrude on your space saying that ‘I know how women are. My mom always enjoyed getting ready alone because she didn’t want to feel rushed.’ He was right, if he was in the same room you’d feel like you would have to get ready quickly.
You curse trying to get your heels ons as you lace up the second heel trying to secure it as much as possible so you wouldn’t fall. As you’re finishing up and repacking your makeup to clean up the area the door clicks open as Bucky walks in. You turn to him hoping he likes it. It’s nothing extravagant to you compared to their style. It’s a black strapless elongated dress tailored to your height. A narrow slit starts from the upper thigh opening towards the bottom.
“Wow, you look incredible. I mean not that you don’t always look good but today, tonight you just look exceptional.” You try not to smile at his words but fail. It’s the first time you’ve ever seen him flustered.
“Thank you, is this too much? It’s my old winter formal dress but I didn’t have time to get a new one.” You hope your attire suits the restaurant dress code. The last thing you want to do is embarrass yourself in front of him.
“No, you look perfect. It’s perfect.” He’s matching with black slacks, sweater, and a long peabody coat.
“I can say the same for you, I like the monochromatic look. It suits you.” Your comment makes him smile as it means a lot coming from you.
“I wanted to look my best for you.” He checks his watch, noticing the time,”we should probably head down. The valet is waiting for us.” He holds out his hand as you accept it.
The waiter sat you at a booth per Bucky’s request. You’re glad to sit to relieve pressure off your feet. You only walked a little but the heels are skinny and feel like they’re stabbing your feet. Bucky orders drinks for you as you look at the menu. It’s limited but that’s how most fine dining restaurants operate.
“I want you to get whatever you want. My treat.” You don’t say thank you this time. “Don’t worry, I will.” Your reply comes out teasingly creates a smirk on his face knowing that you’re comfortable around him and letting him treat you accordingly..
The finished entrees have been pushed to the side leaving waiting to be picked up as you listen to him talk about this week's work load. Your phone interrupts him mid sentence as a message comes through from your sister. He doesn’t mean to pry, it was in the middle of the table after all.
“Do you need to get that?” He asks politely knowing that he’d give you all the time you needed.
You check it before answering him.
‘Hey, just checking on you, hope you’re doing okay. It feels like we haven’t talked in a little bit.’ For a second you feel bad. But you also know she only comes around when you don’t make plans or reach out first. You are always chasing and you hate forcing things, especially familial ties. It’s also not just that, that makes you feel bad. You’re sitting across from her ex-boyfriend who she dated for 4 years who she thought she was going to marry. Given it’s been two years since they’ve broken up. Now you’re sitting here wondering if you should leave for her sake or stay for what your heart wants.
“No it’s fine, just something with my sister.” He must’ve noticed your demeanor change as he grabs your hand from the table. He rubs his thumb across your hand soothing you.
“I get it, this situation isn’t ideal nor normal in a sense. It’s confusing, conflicting. Like you're questioning yourself what's right and wrong or too far. If you want me to take you home tonight and never speak again I understand. But I will say regardless of what happens after tonight. It’s up to you. It’s your feelings I respect ultimately. But I want you to know, I’d regret it if I don’t at least try. Because even though it’s only been a few months since we reconciled, I finally got to know someone that I have never met. Emotionally and mentally you captivate me in a way no one else has. Someone that actually listens to me, understands me, and wants me for me, not for what I have. I would be a fool not to chase someone like that regardless of who they're tied to.” He takes a small breath before finishing, “I don’t want to imagine a life without you. If it’s not you then I don’t want anyone. Above all I don’t want to walk away from tonight without telling you how I feel. What I feel is you, you make up my thoughts, I see you in my future.  I’d do anything to prove that love I have for you. Even if it means allowing you to walk away tonight. Because you’re the most important thing to happen to me in a long time. The last thing I’d want to do is hurt you or make you choose something you aren’t ready for. I’m here for you even if you walk away, I’ll always come to you if you need me.”
His eyes are a little teary as he cups your hand with both of his hands and kisses it.
“You don’t have to make up your mind right n-” He’s cut off by you.
You interrupt him as you lean closer to the table with a shaky breath.“I don’t want to live a life I regret. Especially regretting someone that I could have a life with but chose not to out of fear or for someone else's feelings. I don’t know where life is supposed to lead me but I know I want it with you. Most people follow through with decisions based on what’s most logical but I choose my heart. And my heart wants you.”
He leans over the table as you meet him halfway to kiss him. Letting his lips envelope yours, soft and plump like you imagined. It’s sweet and gentle like him. You pull away from the short kiss wishing it lasted longer but you’re also in public.
“So you for sure don’t want to go home?” He asks one more time knowing your answer.
“Not unless it’s with you.”
No words are exchanged as you’re sitting on the edge of the bed, one of your legs is on his shoulder as he takes off your shoe. As he unties the last heel he kisses from your ankle to your thigh. Moving upwards to the wetness between your thighs. You lay back on the bed allowing for more access. He kneels on the floor, grabbing your ass and pulling it closer to him for better positioning. Your dress is pushed up, bunched around your waist as he pulls your panties off. He throws them to the side discarding them. You feel his breath on your pussy for a second before he kisses it. He gives the mound and lips little kisses teasing you as you wait for him to give you more. Shivers run down your spine as you feel his tongue on your slit. He flattens it to cover the whole area, licking a few times. Savoring the taste of you. He takes your swollen clit into his mouth to gently suck on. You can feel your clit pulsate as his tongue teases the little nub. Flicking it  and rubbing it in a circle with his tongue. Causing your hands to find his hair as you grip it and grind against his face. His hand reaches between your thighs as he rubs the soft skin gently before he runs two fingers over your wet pussy. A moan escapes your mouth as you feel his hand on your wet cunt. Once his fingers are wet, he uses one finger to open you up. Allowing you to get used to the feeling before he adds another. Another finger joins the first stretching you. It gives you some relief as you rock yourself on his fingers a little as he begins to lap at your clit. Tonguing the nerve as he finger fucks your small hole.
“Your fingers feel so good.” You moan gripping his hair.
He removes his face from your pussy, “you taste amazing. Just as I thought” He gets back to his feet to lean over you as he begins to furiously fuck you on his fingers. You’re cursing at him as he continues, loving the sounds you’re making and faces you make when you’re being pleasured. You place your fingers on your clit as you feel yourself getting close. Rubbing circles and other motions to aid in relief. You’re begging him at this point whimpering knowing how close you are. He adds one more finger stretching you beyond belief knowing that you can take it
“You’re taking my fingers so well I can’t imagine how good it’ll feel on my dick.” . He says as he guides you while you’re cumming. Letting you know how good you are and how pretty you are.
He waits a few more seconds before he pulls out his fingers leaving you empty. He gets off the bed to take off the rest of his clothes, swiftly undoing his buckle and pants to reveal a very prominent hard-on. You move closer to the headboard to get more comfortable as you wait for his return.
“I don’t have a condom. I wasn’t planning on having sex.” He’s on the bed again rubbing his cock trying to relieve the pressure.
“I don’t care, I just want you inside me.” Your voice is needy as he grins before he’s quickly in between your legs again.
He rubs his cock up and down your slit. Letting the juices coat the tip. He teases the clit for a second until you whine wanting him inside you. He lines his cock up at your entrance with one hand letting the tip slowly enter. He looks at you, watching your face to make sure he’s not hurting you. You gasp as he slides in, his length completely filling you up.
“You doing okay?” You nod as he waits for a second before moving.
His thrusts are gentle to not hurt your cervix. He knows his size is above average and easy to bruise if too rough. He leans down to kiss you, one hand on your hip, the other on your face. His kiss is hungry and rough compared to his thrusts.
“I’ve been waiting for this. Dreaming about this.” He says moaning into your mouth.
“I know, I’ve cum to you so many times.” You confess.
“I can’t count the times you’ve made me hard by just being next to you.” His pace quickens up which makes you grip his biceps.
“Fuck.” You draw out the word as he continues pounding.
He grabs your legs, bending your knees to your chest. This position leaves you completely folded, breathless, with how deep he is.
‘Fuck you’re so big Bucky.” You say throwing your head back.
“Maybe your cunt is just too tiny then. Maybe I just need to keep stretching you out then so you don’t forget who you belong to.” He leans his head down to watch his cock retreat in and out of your hole. Mesmerized by the wetness glistening on his cock.
He bites his lip as he slowly pulls out almost all the way, just to thrust back in. He loves watching your face as he’s inside you. Your little sounds and whimpers almost send him over the edge entirely with how sweet you are. You move your hips against his cock, meeting his thrusts. You’re so wet you can’t even tell if you’ve already cum or not. Sweat is building up on his forehead as you watch him pound into you. You know he’s close by the erratic thrusts.
“Where can I cum?” He asks, needing an answer quickly or else he’s about to make you a milf.
“Inside me. I’m on birth control.” He moans leaning down to kiss you as his thrusts speed up and his body shakes. Your walls grip him tightly as he spills his seed inside of you. Filling your cunt until it’s dripping.
Once he’s finished he gets a warm rag to clean you up. Letting the warmness soothe your now aching core.
“I love you” Bucky says as he doesn’t care to look for a ‘right time’ anymore.
“I love you too.” You really do.

Slightly unhinged Good Omens meta:
• Crowley could change his eyes in theory, but he didn't realize at first, invented shades a thousand years early and by the time he figured out that he can, he was too committed to the sunglasses bit to stop.
• There is a cleaning roster in Hell. Everyone is on the roster. Literally. That's why Ligur was standing there with a bucket in season 1. The reason everyone is always mad at Crowley is that he regularly leaves his shed skin lying around and doesn't throw away coffee cups.
• During the Egyptian plaques, it was actually one big frog. Precisely, it was Hastur. (He had to go through a few back channels to get the gig.)
• The reason some angels ride segways in Heaven is that the foors are too slippery. Archangels can power walk around because they get rubber soled shoes as a job benefit.
• The main reason Aziraphale agreed to become the new Archangel Supreme was the desire to introduce them to new filing systems, something he had always been passionate about.
• Crowley wasn't lying when he introduced himself to the Scottish surgeon. He actually is a doctor and goes to med-school every few decades, to get another diploma. He was only lying about Aziraphale, who never studied to be a doctor. He did, however, later on, became a registered nurse during the Great War.
• About 50% of demons and angels are dating someone from 'the opposition'. They also know the meaning of the word 'discretion' and that's why we never hear about it.
• Every once in a while someone goes down the wrong corridor in Good Omens Hell (wronger? Since there are no right ones?) and ends up in Sandman's Hell, or vice versa. It always takes a long time to sort out and nobody likes to talk about it.
• There is actually only one Eric at the time. His special thing is the ability to cause double vision.

Finally got the cover done :3 I'm really proud of this, it took so long.
Tumblr media
The comic will be posted here on Tumblr(converting my Original species blog that I never ended up using), NamiComi, Deviantart, and maybe Wattpad(most likely not because they are owned by Webtoons and I'm trying to keep my comic away from Webtoons), YouTube(if I get voice actors and/or go the extra mile and animate it like a crazy person) and Tapas(I just would need to convert it to their format because I don't think they support the comic page reading left to right[nor the manga reading right to left]) I really hope y'all will enjoy my comic
here's a summary of the story(which I'm trying to aim for young adult): "a recent graphic design college graduate, Lilly Cole, receives an inheritance from her grandmother, Jessie Cole, who died the same time she received her diploma. The inheritance included her Grandma’s home, car, pet, and a potion business in a magical world that’s only available to those with strong imaginations. Now, with the help of her grandmother’s business partner, she has to try to keep the business running to keep the legacy of her grandmother alive despite having no knowledge of the magic system nor potions."
If you want to support me and my work, you can either buy an adoptable or device background from my Kofi shop or just send a donation on Kofi. But if you can't do that, just reading and sharing my comic and my art if you like it is more than enough :3

I always see fics about Eddie hurting Steve but I never see any about Steve hurting Eddie. So here you go! I hope you guys like it and please leave your thoughts in the comments.
~*~*~*~
Eddie knew that Steve had good intentions and he knew that he was blowing things out of proportion. However, he was so sick of not having control over anything in his life that things were bound to blow up at some point. Between not graduating high school with the rest of his year, being put on house arrest for several months while waiting for his name to clear, and dealing with his life-altering injuries, Eddie was a miniscule way away from breaking down entirely.
Unfortunately, Steve was the last crack that it took for his whole facade to shatter.
Eddie didn’t have control over anything. He couldn’t make the townspeople believe his side of things or in his innocence. He couldn’t walk across the stage to pick up his diploma like he’d dreamed of doing for years. He couldn’t even breathe too deeply some days in fear of awakening a flare of chronic pain.
What he could do though was keep a tidy trailer. He’d taken to organizing the fridge and cabinets in the kitchen in a way that only made sense to him. He’d color-coded his DnD notebooks and tapes in his room. Hell, he’d even organized Wayne’s remaining mug collection in order from most to least flattering colors. He had a system now in his home and it was quite literally the only thing keeping him together.
So when Wayne dropped him off at home after a particularly grueling physical therapy session and found the kitchen reorganized, he might have lost it a little bit. And when he opened the fridge to find his travel cup of coffee missing, what other option did he have than to cry? He burst into loud, ugly sobs and melted to the floor. It wouldn’t help the pain in his scars when he tried to get back up but he needed to feel close to gravity again.
Steve came running out of Eddie’s bedroom at the first cry and sunk to his knees beside him desperately. “Eddie, what’s wrong? Are you hurt? Can you answer me?”
“Where’s my coffee? I had it on the door of the fridge but now it’s gone. Where is it?” He asked frantically.
Steve just shook his head, “Eds, it was almost empty and it’s been there for days so I threw it away.”
There went his last shred of sanity. “I made it today! It was fine, you had no right to throw it away! That was the only thing I’ve been looking forward to! Fuck!”
“Eds, relax. There’s another coffee in there and you shouldn’t be drinking so much coffee anyways. The kitchen was really disorganized so I cleaned it up for you, I thought you’d be happy,” Steve said.
Eddie just shook his head in response, tears still dripping from his face. “I’m the one that organized it! I have a fucking system, Steve! This is the one thing that I can control and you took it away! I asked you not to mess with anything, but you did it anyway.”
Steve just looked at him in confusion, “I just wanted to help-”
“Please leave, I can’t do this right now.” He needed to sob his emotions out in peace and then take a long, grieving nap.
“Are we breaking up?” Steve whispered.
“No, I’m mad at you because you threw my coffee away and fucked up my system. I’ll call you later just… please leave for now. Please,” Eddie begged him.
Steve shrugged, picked up his keys, and walked out the door. Then, Eddie was alone with a disastrously organized kitchen and a lack of coffee. They would talk this out later and establish boundaries so this never happened again. But for now, Eddie was alone with his depression, pain, and angst. With little else to do, he tucked his face into his knees and cried.

Summary: Miles Edgeworth has been looking out for Vera Misham since her father's death, but he's not the one she considers her guardian angel.
The letters had started almost immediately after the devil was locked away from the sunlight, and she keeps them hidden from everyone despite their influence on her.
Meanwhile in jail, Kristoph tries to weave another spell, and regain some measure of control.
-
August 02, 2028– 2:05pm
In October it would be two years since Vera's father had been killed, and she had been put on trial for his murder. It was still a little bit unclear to her how exactly prosecutor Miles Edgeworth had ended up in her life, but he had been waiting in her hospital room when she woke up, and since then he had helped her make arrangements in her life.
So far, most of those arrangements had involved helping her understand her finances, securing her living space, and managing her enrollment in an accelerated adult learning program to officially obtain her high school diploma.
Now the fancy dressed man– who was by now the chief prosecutor– was helping her arrange the next step in her education.
He took a sip of his coffee, sitting comfortably in her kitchen with her.
"You're sure this is what you want, Vera? I remember last year we had discussed an art program."
Vera’s hands wrapped around the mug before her, letting the coffee inside warm them as she nodded firmly.
She’d thought about it for some time, of course, turning it over and over in her head on one of her many sleepless nights. She’d written back and forth about it, and debated it both internally and externally to always the same conclusion.
Art had stopped bringing her joy, at least as a career choice. Every time she’d put the brush to canvas with the intent to create something she could sell and survive off of, her father’s spirit hung heavy over her and crushed her creative spark to nothing. With the joy smothered from her dearest hobby, the idea of it becoming her job felt like an ever tightening box.
“I don’t want to make copies anymore.” she said softly. “That includes copying my father’s life. My eyes, my hands, could help people like how Apollo Justice and Mr. Wright helped me.”
Mr. Edgeworth sighed and sipped his coffee, before putting it down on the counter with a little click. He shook his head.
"I understand, Vera. Sometimes it seems like everyone that this justice system touches ends up becoming absorbed by it. I wondered if perhaps you'd escape the… pattern."
Curse. Mr. Edgeworth hadn't said it. But that was what he meant. Maybe he was right. By now of course, Vera knew about the chief prosecutor's own history. The death of his father. The trial of Manfred Von Karma.
The beginnings of the great prosecutor Miles Edgeworth, in circumstances strangely reminiscent of her own. He’d been dragged into the mire of the legal system. Maybe it was a curse, a fate imposed on those touched by the scythe of death on its path through someone else that you’d find yourself entangled in the complicated and difficult world of the law and justice.
But Vera was no stranger to curses. She sipped her coffee.
“Sorry Mr. Edgeworth…but I’ve talked it out and come to a de-decision.” Her voice dropped low. “I want to be a forensic investigator. Like Miss Skye.”
"If that's what you've decided, then I won't try any further to dissuade you." He smiled a rather sad little smile and Vera managed her own fragile one in return.
“Thank you…maybe I’ll..I’ll get the chance to work with you someday, Mr. Edgeworth.”
"Perhaps you will. About all this– I heard you'd also been talking to Pearl Fey about the matter."
She nodded. “and I have been…Pearl and I have talked a lot about it, actually. She was …one…of the people I talked to when trying to figure things out.”
"I know she's been quite enthusiastic for herself," Edgeworth said thoughtfully. "Was she the one who suggested it to you?"
She hadn't been.
Vera was absolutely certain Miles Edgeworth wouldn’t have approved of the one who had. Her fingers tightened against her mug, a minute and easily missed sign of her internal spike in nerves.
If Apollo Justice were here, she was certain he would have noticed right away. The one who had suggested the path through the police academy had been another person entirely. A demon hovering over her shoulder, or her guardian angel, she wasn’t entirely sure.
“No, Mr. Edgeworth…she hadn’t. But when I told her I was thinking of joining too, she got rather excited.”
"A fine coincidence, I suppose." Edgeworth nodded, satisfied. "The two of you have a lot in common, in some ways."
“We do, Mr. Edgeworth?” Vera cocked her head. “..I mean, I feel as if we do, we’ve found a lot of common ground…but I’m curious what you mean.”
"Well. Without meaning to offend," he said carefully. "You were both raised in a quite sheltered way by a parent who was then… removed from your lives."
“Ah…”
Vera had heard a little on this, here and there, in her conversations with Pearl. She’d always gotten the sense it wasn’t exactly something she liked to talk about– which was fair. Her own memories of her childhood with her father were complicated and entwined with the gut-wrenching feeling of poison pulsing through her body.
“That’s true, isn’t it..? Leaving us a little adrift when they were gone...”
Miles nodded again. "Ms. Fey I think is a little bit ahead of you in working through that in some ways, and I think a little bit behind. Perhaps the two of you can help uplift one another during your time at the academy."
Vera leaned forward.
“I’d like that. Pearl’s a stable presence. Nice. Maybe we could dorm together?”
It was better than the mortifying ordeal of being set up with a stranger.
"I'll see what I can do," Mr. Edgeworth nodded. "It shouldn't be a problem. Beyond that– I want you to know that if this doesn't work out, it isn't a problem or a failure, Vera. There's no shame in trying something and then wanting to change tracks."
It was a nice sentiment, but she had no intention of backing out. She’d been raised since she was a child to be an unknowing accomplice to forgery and corruption. Her talented eye and clever hands had rarely created anything beautiful that wasn’t a fake designed to put money in her father’s wallet.
As much as she loved art, this was something that could be all her own..just as she’d said in the letters to the man who’d suggested the academy in the first place.
“I know Mr. Edgeworth,” she smiled warmly at him. “I promise. But I know I can do it. I bel-believe in myself, as frightening as it is.”
He nodded, and raised his coffee cup to her. "I believe in you too, Vera. I shall be watching your career closely."
August 02, 2028– 3:15pm
I shall be watching your career closely.
Miles Edgeworth couldn't know that he wasn't the only person who had said– or at least who had written– those words to her in the last few days. With the chief prosecutor gone now, she was alone in her apartment. Just her, and her correspondence.
She sat at her quiet drafting table, unused paints and brushes gathering dust from where her lack of inspiration left them, pen hovering over an empty page as she scanned the opened letter pinned just beside it.
A simple envelope, and a letter scented with a gentle perfume written in careful handwriting.
Her pen swayed in her fingertips as she read it over once more and formulated her reply to one of the most constant presences in her life since the death of her father.
The letters had begun sometime shortly after she’d awoken from her coma, when she’d been getting settled in the new chance at life Apollo Justice had given her…and despite her better judgment, despite the good sense of men like the sort wielded by Miles Edgeworth, she couldn’t stop herself from responding.
There had been no apology.
Perhaps that was the most striking thing. No apology whatsoever. The letters had simply started with the tone of a casual correspondence.
Dear Vera,
I hope that you're keeping well and you haven't had trouble with your accommodations due to recent events. I'm afraid mine leave much to be desired…
That first letter she'd received almost two years ago– it was so casual. So pleasant.
She’d crafted a frame for it, though she never dared display it where her rare houseguests may see it and wonder. It sat, protected by hand-carved wood and glass, in a quiet drawer next to her drafting table.
It’d been just like its sender– so polite and affable, even when tugging the strings of its trap taut around you. It’d been a comfort to see that he hadn’t changed.
She’d responded in a haze.
My life is in a state of flux, but Mr. Edgeworth and Mr. Justice have been very kind to me. I may lose papa’s house, but I’m told I should be given assistance to pick an apartment of my own. Are yours so terrible? Perhaps something can be done…And just like that, she’d gained herself the strangest pen pal. A correspondence course in life after tragedy, penned at the hand of the devil himself. And yet– here, 2 years later, she still had pen to paper again behind Miles Edgeworth’s back.
Two years later, and she had two years worth of letters saved and boxed. She'd received one twice a week, almost like clockwork in that time. More than 500 letters.
It was her little secret, the secret joy and the secret shame all in one, bundled away for her eyes only.
Her correspondence with the man who’d tried to end her life–and the man who’d ended her father’s.
She began the latest letter, chewing nervously on her lip.
As I’d mentioned in my previous letter, I’ve gotten accepted into the LAPD Police Academy with the intention of entering the detective course on my way to becoming a forensic investigator. Mr. Edgeworth checked in with me, but I think he’s worried about the idea of me getting involved in law because of what happened to my father.
Fathers.
Fathers were something they'd discussed over the course of their many letters.
The devil had never apologized. But he had spoken of his own father. A tyrannical man who had been a famous defense attorney before a sudden and surprising heart attack had made his children orphans.
Any sensible person would have hardened themselves to the story in the face of the devil’s evil, but Vera only ever felt stings of sympathy as she’d responded back. It was through him that she’d started to see the wounds her own father had left on her, and see the lingering spirit of Drew Misham for what he was.
Sympathy for the devil had lead her to respond about a life in isolation after the kidnapping attempt, a father who used her talents for financial gain, the loneliness of being raised in a gilded prison by a man so selfish he’d make a child with a gift into a criminal who knew nothing of the world.
He seems to think our idea is me falling into a curse that befalls those who lose their parents to criminal violence, that it’s somehow inevitable that we’re drawn into the Goddess Justitia’s world of crime and punishment. Maybe he’s right, in a way. Do you think that’s a bad thing? Or is it natural to feel drawn to it like a moth to flame? Some insight from my guardian angel may help.
Her guardian angel– the devil had often referred to himself as such, after Vera herself had used the phrase. And he generally had plenty of advice for her. The advice hadn't even, as of yet, involved poisoning anyone.
Either way I don’t intend to change course. Pearl Fey, a friend of mine, is going to the same academy. We’d talked about it often after your suggestion and I honestly hope we get the chance to room together. She’s a good person, someone who I think understands the difficulty of growing up like I have. I think I can sway Mr. Edgeworth on it, but if you know anyone who can help I’d be happy. She smiled to herself as she wrote it in elegant script. No…he’d never offered to poison anyone, or for her to. It might be shocking to many, and even herself, but her guardian angel had always given her sound advice. Despite the incident that had left her comatose and sickly, he’d never steered her wrong. Maybe that was why she was so drawn to him and his every written word.
I know things don’t change often in prison, but I hope things have been going well. Did you receive my last painting? I thought maybe if you hung it up it’d make your accommodations a little less stifling. I haven’t had much of the spark to draw lately, but when I thought of your cell I was struck by inspiration.
He'd sent her a picture lately, of his little cell. It wasn't much to look at, though she supposed that it might be considered opulent for a prison. There was a bookshelf, and a little table and chair, but not much in terms of decoration. The photo, evidently, had been taken at his request by a friend whose name he hadn't mentioned.
As comfortable as a cell could be, it was still a cell. Something she knew well from her time cloistered in her father’s moldering old house. So with the inspiration of such a bare confinement, she’d been spurred to take up the brush once more and finished an original painting…an abstract painting of the sunrise as viewed through crystal fingers.
I want to hear all about what’s been happening there, if it’s not too much to ask. Are the guards treating you well? You’ve been on my mind once again…It’s likely too much to wish that you could see me on the day I graduate from the Academy, but I daydreamed that I saw your face in the crowd and could see how far I’d come from the frightened forgery you once knew.
It was unlikely, of course, that she would ever see him outside those bars. Or even outside that smiling picture that he had sent her, settled elegantly in that chair, by the table in his cell. The devil had been convicted of two murders. He had never spoken of it, and the specifics of his sentence were not public record– it was entirely possible that she would not be receiving his letters for many years to come.
It shouldn’t hurt so badly to imagine the inevitable. Vera knew–the devil was a wicked man, they’d all said it to her time and time again. Mr. Wright, Edgeworth, she’d even seen the pain in Mr. Justice’s eyes when he talked about him. He’d even said it in court. ‘Because I am an evil man’.
But even with all the evidence, even knowing he was the devil himself, she couldn’t help but see him as the angel she’d met all those years ago. Her heart felt tight in her chest at the very thought of the day her letters went unanswered.
I’ll imagine you there. I A tear hit the page to her surprise. She hadn’t been aware she’d started to cry, and yet the evidence lay there smudging the ink.
Evidence, as the devil himself said, was everything.
And the evidence said that Vera Misham cared very much.
She dotted the paper with her sleeve, leaning back in her chair with a quiet hiccup as she attempted to compose herself. Her face felt hot, and her breath felt ragged as it did on the stand years before, when the charge of murder nearly fell on her shoulders.
…can’t imagine a graduation without the one whose encouragement made it possible. I hope that I’ll make you proud, Mr. Gavin. Her hand shook above the page, speckles of ink joining the damp tear marks from her quivering pen.
August 02, 2028– 3:45 pm
"You know, I keep thinking. It's nice, in its own way, to see you on the other side of the bars, Lana." Kristoph smiled his soft, seemingly guileless little smile at her as she stood in front of his cell door.
Lana Skye had been free now for about a month and a half, after more than ten long years in these walls. So why did she keep coming back?
Maybe it was simply the amount of time she’d called the state penitentiary her home. She’d become quite the staple in the lives of many of the men and women who passed through its barred doors.
Lana Skye, the fallen Chief Prosecutor had been there to offer advice, debate, and friendship to most everyone at one point or another. So maybe instead it was those lingering connections to the unfortunates still behind bars and their untold stories that kept bringing her back.
“I’m glad it can bring you at least a little comfort, Kristoph,” she chuckled as she adjusted her scarf. “I’m sorry I can’t say the same to you.”
"I suppose I have to lie in the bed I've made, don't I?" he agreed, cheerfully enough. "Unless someone were to overturn my sentence I suppose. Not very much chance of that."
“As we all must, my friend…but who knows. I’m not Chief Prosecutor anymore…but I can certainly put in a good word for you should you ever have a parole hearing.” Lana sighed quietly, tucking a lock of her hair over her ear.
She wasn’t chief prosecutor any longer. In and of itself that was a relief, even with the loss of authority and influence that could have helped those she’d gotten to know. But, somehow she’d found herself back in the prosecutor’s office, starting from the bottom by the grace of her old protege Miles Edgeworth.
“I don’t want to see a brilliant light like your own flicker out behind bars if I don’t have to. You’re a smart man, Gavin…” she placed her hand against the bars, “and if I’ve learned one thing behind bars, it’s that everyone has more to their story than the verdict lets on.”
"You have a keen eye for that sort of thing, Lana." He lingered near the bars, arms crossed and thoughtful. "You may not be the chief prosecutor any more, but I know that you have the ear of the new one. And I have heard some interesting things about what he intends to do with the position, and has been doing already."
“Yes…he’s asked me advice on it a few times since my release. He’s looking to change the system from the ground up through some rather unconventional methods. One of which, I’m interested to say, was allowing my re-hiring into the prosecutor’s office despite…” she trailed off for a moment before her expression firmed and her eyes hardened, “my part in Gant’s little game.”
Gavin, on the other hand, smiled a little wider, and drummed his fingers on his elbow. "Yes, Mr. Edgeworth truly seems like a man interested in second chances, doesn't he? It was only last year he had Blackquill prosecuting cases from death row."
Lana chuckled.
“A bold move, honestly. It worked out well for dear Simon. I’m proud to say he’s back prosecuting cases free of his chains already and has been doing quite well for himself.” She crossed her arms as well, a mirror of his posture, and hummed as she put her fingers to the bottom of her chin. “He seems to believe very much in second chances, and of revisiting facts once thought concrete to find the truth hidden within. He’s a good man, Gavin.”
"I believe that, you know," Kristoph said with a smile. "One wonders how he came by such goodness. But perhaps you could tell the good chief prosecutor that I am eager to be of use to him, in whatever capacity he might put me. Defense attorneys aren't the purview of the state of course, but I'm a flexible man, Lana. Let him know that."
Lana chuckled as her finger hooked against her chin.
“You know, Mr. Gavin…I was going to offer the same thing.” She closed her eyes with a smile “I’ve gotten to know you over the last two years or so… and I think you’d be a great candidate for his rehabilitation project. I know you’re flexible, and willing to do what must be done, so I’ll bring it up to him during my next meeting, alright?”
"I appreciate that, Lana. Even if it comes to no more than a way to pass the time until the end– well, it's very boring with you gone. All I have to do with my days is read and correspond."
And cry, perhaps. If Lana understood the meaning of the dark bruises, puffy under Gavin's eyes.
Lana would never insult a prisoner’s pride by pointing it out. She had been no stranger herself to private tears known only to herself and the guards who pretended not to listen. So she simply smiled instead with a bow of her head.
“It hasn’t been the same without the chance to speak to you more often, Mr. Gavin. I’ll confess, I do miss it.” She closed her eyes. “I’ll see about getting you some sort of diversion. A new book, perhaps, or a correspondence game– though it sounds like you have something of the sort going? I remember you asking me to take that picture of you, after all.”
He chuckled politely and bowed his head. "You've caught me, Lana. I am fortunate enough to have my own little correspondence game. But I'll never say no to another diversion."

Im here today to talk to you about one of my special interests;
Señor Danny Trejó
Tumblr media
This man has lived such a life at age 79; and is still kicking, but I think people don’t really appreciate all this man has been through to be who he is. I genuinely believe his biopic needs to be made bc oh my goodness.
CW: drug usage, incarceration experiences, tough home life, murder, stabbing, death penalty, violence (feel free to lmk more and I’ll add as pointed out)
Also to note; this is a historical summary. Aka the facts with as little of my opinion as I can manage (while considering that I do have a bias), I do not condone the violent acts mentioned. That being said I do sympathize with many actions being a product of circumstance and that this is a man trying to own his past while using his present to make a better future for himself and others. And THAT is why I respect the hell out of him
Ok let’s start this; spoiler alert I look like
Tumblr media
By the end
Ok so Im gonna have to categorize this baby; a note, most of this is from his Wikipedia page and subsequent cited sources
Tumblr media
Personal
Tumblr media
-was born in (1944) as the child of an extramarital affair; his mothers husband was away fighting in WW2 at the time
-He’s been a fan of the LA Rams since their early days (1946) and some of his earliest memories are from sneaking into games as a child
-he fled LA with his family to Texas as a small child bc his father was wanted for stabbing someone. His father turned himself in a year after moving back to LA
-he purchased his childhood home and as of his 2020 biopic, still intermittently lives in it.
-he completed his high school diploma during his stay at Soledad correctional facility (likely during his time in solitary)
-among his many jobs between prison and film; Trejo helped construct the Cinerama Dome in California (now where many of his films have been screened at today) with a construction company as a labourer, a gardener and part time owner of a lawn company
-Trejo has been quoted to still have fears that his life is all just been a dream and that ‘hell wake up in prison with someone urging him to “go get some chow”
-Trejo has been a contributor to several books relating to prison life
-trejo published a cookbook in 2020 and his memoir in 2021
-As of 2020 Trejo owns 8 restaurants; including a taco restaurant, a cantina and a coffee and donut shop. His rainbow cauliflower tacos made the LA times fav recipes of 2017
-He has been married and divorced 4x with 3 children (however he helped raise 2 additional children with his second wife)
-Trejo is a registered Democrat
-battled liver cancer in 2010, moved to be closer to his mom in 2011. She passed while filming the Muppets most wanted in 2013. Although sad, Trejo recalls he didn’t truly break down until Kermit offered his apologies in character (due to his macho personality)
-In 2019 Trejo witnessed a car accident and helped rescue a small ychild from that very wreckage (trapped in the car seat in an overturned SUV)
Tumblr media
Prison
Tumblr media
-was first arrested at age 10, first incarcerated at age 12 at Eastlake Juvenile Hall
-was in various prisons within the California prison system from 1956-1969 (conflicting accounts say one term may have been till ‘72)
-notable stints include; three years at Camp Glen Rockey in San Dimas for stabbing a sailor in the face with broken glass, a stint in Los Angeles County in 1961 where he met Charles Manson (who Trejo describes as a “dirty, greasy, scrawny white boy” who was an allegedly talented hypnotist), Soledad in 1968 where he hit a guard with a rock during a prison riot on Cinco de Mayo. Due to this he was sent to solitary confinement and faced capital charges and the death penalty. He also completed the 12 step program at this time.
-His most memorable stint was in San Quentin in 1966; his heron use was exacerbated here. Here he was a debt collector and drug dealer; often engaging and witnessing acts of violence and occasional murder. He also picked up boxing in this stint and became both a champion of the lightweight and welterweight divisions throughout his other prison experiences.
-his final prison stint was five years of a ten year sentence, most commonly believed to have ended in 1969 (aged 25)
-he was known as the gossip queen of his cell block in several prisons
Drug Usage and Recovery
Tumblr media
- Trejo had been using Marijuana since age 8, heron by age 12, and cocaine by age 13; all introduced by his uncle Gilbert
-Trejo overdosed on first heron fix (also under his uncle’s supervision)
- participated in his first drug deal at age 7
-completed the 12 step program during his time in solitary at Soledad. He has been quoted being sober since completing this program, and is celebrating 54 years in recovery
- Trejo became a substance abuse counsellor in 1973, and is still actively working to help substance abuse cases today
-in the 1980s Trejo worked in Western Pacific Med Corp, assisting with the establishment and operation of sober living houses. He also lived in the houses at this time
-He was called to help assist with the cocaine usage amongst teenagers on the set of Runaway Train (1985)
-Trejos work as an actor was meant to help further his work as a rehabilitation counsellor and he claimed it helped him as clients would recognize him as an actor
-While filming scenes at San Quentin for Blood In, Blood Out; trejo helped a prisoner (Mario Castillo) through the 12 step program and remained in touch after his release. Today him and Mario remain great friends and both speak around the country in both juvenile detention centres as well as rehabilitation centres about their experiences
Film
Tumblr media
-his character Machete was created FOR the Spy Kids film
-the creator of the Spy Kids franchise is his second cousin
-Danny originally got into acting after meeting a boy in a sober living house who explained he worked a day job as an extra to make 50$ a day (in 1980); between the “easy money”, availability with his schedule and publicity he could provide to the Western Living House Org, Danny decided to find an agent for background rolls
-After being asked to help with cocaine issues on the set of Runaway Train, Trejo was recognized by the screenplay writer, Edward Bunker. Bunker has been a fellow inmate with Trejo in San Quentin and was also a fan of his boxing work. Bunker helped hire Trejo as a boxing trainer on the film and negotiated Trejos pay to be closer to ~$330 a day, due to his additional help on set and general knowledge/experience
-Bunker also helped land Trejo a role as a background actor in the prison scenes in Runaway
-Penitentiary 3 (1987) was his first billed role, during which he met one of the members of the Galbino crime family (one of the 5 mafia families in New York)

Eddie’s Education: Chapter 1
 Masterlist link
Eddie's Education
Synopsis: 15 years after the events in the upside-down and Eddie's unlikely survival, he's still left with scars and an uneventful life working at his uncle's garage and as a part-time bartender. Although he planned to get out of Hawkins like a bat out of hell, he's still there and feeling stuck. At Uncle Wayne's suggestion, Eddie goes to night school to finally get his GED. Little does Eddie know that his life is about to get a lot more interesting when he meets his tutor, Leia, and realizes staying in Hawkins might not be so bad after all.
A/N: Eddie Munson x OFC, slow burn to eventual smut, multi-parter. Cannon divergent. Eddie's a sweetheart, Eddie Lives! Minors DNI
   -----
Chapter 1
In  Classroom 4 of Hawkins Community College, Eddie slouched in his chair and stared at the clock, tapping his foot nervously and sighing at the chicken-scratch markings on his trig worksheet. Academics were never his thing, or rather systematic herding of children through an arbitrary system of achievement was never his thing. His high school classmates called him a freak, his teachers called him an idiot, but Eddie was never a dummy...just a non-conformist. Eddie was 34, the new millennium had turned the corner, the metal head figured it was time to turn a corner of his own and finally get that piece of paper that held him back for so long; a diploma.
Finally the clock struck10 pm and he was free, jumping up from his desk gleefully before he remembered that today he would begin his extra tutoring after class. The gray-haired teacher stared him down through her big serial-killer glasses as she passed him the little slip. It told him which room to go to and who his tormentor would be for the next hour...and the rest of the semester.
As he strode through the tunnel of florescent lights he read the details in all their dot-matrix glory.
Room : 66, 3rd floor   Staff Tutor: Violetta Leia Vespero (Adjunct)
Jesus, Eddie thought, grinning to himself, what a fucking lucky number! And what a fucking name!
----
Leia hustled down the polished expanse of puke yellow Formica that constituted a hallway in Hawkins community college, clutching her coffee for dear life. These days were long, the hours were weird. She had just army-crawled her way to the end of teaching a two hour block class of high school level English to GED candidates. These first days of the semester were always the hardest, new faces, new names, new struggles. She felt for her students. She tried her best...but god, was she tired by the time that clock finally struck 10.
One hour to go...just one hour of tutoring, and then home, hot bath, anime, bourbon...you can do it...come on. She thought, cheering herself on as she hoisted her pile of books and a loaded backpack up the three flights of stairs to room 66.
---
As Eddie made his reluctant way towards Room 66, he spotted a pile of books with legs breathing heavily as it kicked the stairwell door open with a booted-foot. He hurried over.
“Hey...hey!” he said waving down to the pair of dark eyes peeking over the wall of paper. “Uh....need a hand?”
“Oh shit, yes please. Thank you so much,” she huffed out as a tall guy with wild brown hair and a leather jacket took the stack off her hands.
“Uh...where too?”
“Room...” she paused opening a crumpled note from her pocket, “ha,” she chuckled, “ you're not gonna believe this...66”.
“Oh hey, me too!” he exclaimed.
As they arrived, Eddie held the door open, nodding for her to go ahead of him.
She huffed out, “Thanks again! I was hauling that up from the basement,” as she set her coffee carefully on the teacher's desk. Eddie twitched with surprised realization. She's the tutor?! How is she old enough to teach here??
She quickly fished a hair elastic out of the  pocket of her dress. He figured it clearly came from a thrift store; a worn out but tidy relic (probably the only “professional” clothing she could afford on an adjunct's salary) paired with an old pair of Docs. Apparently, intentional or not, for this young lady grunge never died.
He watched as she efficiently wound her straight black curtain of hair from her waist up into a knot to get it out of her face. When he realized he was doing a trademark Munson zone-out, he asked her quickly, “You...you wouldn't happen to have another of those I can borrow do you? This,” he said gesturing with a funny exaggeration to his wild curls, “keeps getting in my face.”
She chuckled. “Ha...yeah sure. I know the feeling,” she replied handing him a spare elastic.
“Thanks,” he said, tying his hair up as well.
“Sooo...do I call you Miss Vespero or what?” Eddie asked
She offered her hand to shake as she said, “Oh no no. Just Leia is fine.”
“Leia?” he said, puppy eyes wide.
She rolled hers, and laughed. “Yeah yeah...I know. Like Star Wars. Came out the year I was born...my dad's a nerd...etc.”
Fuck, now I feel old, He thought.
Eddie realized he was shaking her hand while saying nothing a little too long for it to be comfortable and tried to recover saying, “Uhhh...nice...nice to meet you. I'm Eddie Munson.”
“Likewise,” Leia said, then glanced to the door as a few other students came in and jostled into place, grumbling as they took their seats.
Leia carefully called out each name, and checked it off as she got a response.
“Hey everyone, welcome. Uh...I'm Leia, I'll be your faculty tutor every Thursday night, so feel free to bring whatever subject you're working on and I'll do my best to help everyone...”
She continued but Eddie was already zoning out, wondering about this girl, elbow on his desk, head propped in his hand. He checked out her stack of books. Scanning the ladder of spines, he read, Beginner's Guide to Linguistics, Grammar Exercises: Level 2, Beowulf, I Am Legend, and the cherry on top was a thick well-worn volume; The Silmarillion, J.R.R. Tolkien. He didn't even realize that his jaw had dropped, mouth hanging open in surprise and delight. Maybe Thursday nights wouldn't be so bad after all, he thought as he could almost hear Hot for Teacher blaring inside his own skull.

University should be compulsory for all
Education is one of the important weapons in the overall development of a child. All students must be educated to know the basic etiquette of right and wrong. With high-quality education, children are informed about their rights and duties to utilize them when required. It basically helps students in serving the purpose that can build their future.
To achieve career goals, students should know their perspectives and interests. Many educators help children choose the right streams according to their interests in school. With the helpful suggestions of teachers, they can easily select a stream of their interest. Moreover, it depends on whether students want to attend university based on their interests and stream after completing their school education.
Everybody has their own choices. Some want to go to university, whereas others never wish to go to university. Making University Education compulsory or not becomes a big part of the debate. If colleges become compulsory, many students will be forced to go to a university without the desire to pursue their education. Besides, many high school students who desire to go to university would be happy if university education became compulsory.
Making it compulsory means it's a must that might burden students. Learners who are not interested in going to university will not be able to show their potential and skills at a higher level. In this blog post, we will discuss whether university education should be compulsory or whether children should feel free from that.
Cons and Pros of University Education
As everything has positive and negative impacts, university education has some cons and pros. Let's overview whether a college degree is worth it or not.
Pros:
Higher Education is something every individual strives for at least at one stage in his/her life. Everyone dreams of going to college and getting a high-paying job. Those interested in attending college are fond of college culture, libraries, environment, etc. University Education helps people in multiple ways, from raising their living standards to achieving their goals. Some of the Pros of making university Education compulsory are as follows:
1. Better Education
University is a tool for students to use to further their education. They can learn more about what they love and what they don't. University means more access to class learning, enhancing information for their brain to soak up.
2. More Job Opportunities
Several jobs require a minimum qualification of a college degree. Employers usually don't get a good response with their resumes unless they have a college education. Additionally, students with a diploma qualification get more opportunities for high-paying and interesting jobs.
To get new job opportunities, study24hr.com provides you with ample options. It is a great online education portal that allows you to show your skills and talent. Study24hr.com bestows various job opportunities such as educator, instructor, content writer, etc. The platform helps students enhance their learning capabilities with a systemic and effective virtual environment. Moreover, it offers an ever-growing range of informative and high-quality online courses.
3. New Experiences
There are countless people and places that you meet and explore. As an adult at a university campus, you have full freedom. You can meet different people from different religions, cultures, and faiths. Also, you can check out new coffee shops or wander around your campus. Trying new things and meeting new individuals gives you exposure to new experiences.
4. Chance to get yourself out of your comfort zone
When you go to university, you are expected to be self-independent. You don't need your parents or guardians to hold your hand and drop you at the college gate. Instead, you can do your things on your own. While doing everything independently, you'll sometimes become stressed, but you'll find that you can do much more than you expected.

Cons:
Most people think spending on a college degree is just a waste of time as it has few negative effects, such as student debts, stress, missing family, friends, etc. They say many successful people never completed their graduation, and many jobs don't require college degrees. Let's check out why people think a university education is useless.
1. Stress and Anxiety
Schools are stressful, but universities are even more stressful. It's up to you to get to the session to figure out how to graduate. Even though you have counselors as resources, things will still stress you out and make you anxious.
2. Student loans
As college fee structure is increasing rapidly, student loans are also rising fast. Families with poor financial conditions can't afford to send their children to universities. And that's why parents take loans from financial institutions. But once children have graduated, they become worried about clearing their debts.
3. Rich people without a university Education
Famous Businessmen like Steve Jobs, Ellen DeGeneres, and Bill Gates have one thing in common- a lack of college degrees. Besides, many reputed entrepreneurs and celebrities started a semester but eventually dropped out between graduation.
4. Jobs don't require graduation
Successful careers such as opticians, dental hygienists, and veterinary dieticians don't require their employees to have a college education. These jobs pay well and offer steady income and a way to have a comfortable life.
The Last Word
University Education should be provided to those passionate and interested in getting a college degree. High profession-seeking students would be unhappy if it became mandatory for all. There are several options besides universities for getting an education in good-paying jobs.
The learners who are more interested in some professional courses would not be able to focus on their career-objective goals. As a result, a major part of the resources would be wasted.
In the end, it is concluded that college Education depends on students' ambition. If they want to be a successful car salesman, a college degree won't be compulsory for them. But if any child wants to become a scientist, a degree in pure science is essential. Hence, a college degree should be optional so students can give their best and make their future bright.

Uncle Jun went to Georgia'Z forest an hour ago ( what?! GEORGE + BETSILOGZ a big lie angels )...
Another thing, Uncle Jun was really scared yesterday coz he was sick and couldn't eat... I told him it is normal coz he is sick and having an asthma attack so basically, he needs to rest and keep on taking flu meds every 8 hours for 2 days more ( even if he feels a bit ohkay ).
Nana is still sick as well... Hmmm...Hmmm... God give us strength me and my baby-John...
Still, waiting for father figure to give signs of life ( Uncle DD ) I wonder if he is real.... hmmm...hmm...
Still, figuring out how to survive the day but I still have coffee this early am...
8:46 am
I still feel bitter... I still need a bf as my support system but there are some rules, still... Desperate, bitter but still have some a lil pride here..
I still wanna kill some unfair net 25 people???
11:19 am
We survived the lunch, even the dogs here by simply making a simple porridge for now ...
In the Nutshell:
Again, I need a bf who can be open-minded about my situation here...Someone who understood doing a good snap and foul snap... Sometimes you have to snap for the awakening of our mental state but it didn't give anybody to step on your pride or your dignity as individual.
2:55 pm
I still have the windblow trap and I wanna leave the hometown....I feel low, my self-esteem is very, very low...
I'm thinking of money and job, Cavite just took away my college diploma....
3:08 pm
I have traitor relatives, I think so...
5:20 pm
Uncle Jun is here now, he said Uncle DD gave him a missed call... Waiting for food alms... Not my ideal life here... There is something strange on Uncle DD's ( waiter boy ) behaviour... First the short fundings of 2400 instead of 2600 with water fundings...
I'm supposed to have my own life or receiving wealthy aristocrat Filipino suitors or on aliens such as colored bf, I can't exist.. .. Hmm...
6:34 pm
Speaking of local breadshop!
We are still surviving... Bread is the new dinner angels... John loves the bread with ube and most specially the "binangkal"...
