According to former staffers and a deposition, Nancy Mace has allegedly used her tech background to deploy bots across social media—and asked staffers to surreptitiously post on her behalf.
Nancy Mace, the South Carolina Republican congresswoman, often tells her staff that she’s a self-taught coder—just one aspect of how Mace presents her tech expertise, as befits her role in shaping the GOP’s policies on technology and work as chair of the House subcommittee on Cybersecurity, Information Technology, and Government Innovation.
“I would say [it was] at least a weekly comment, if not daily,” says one of several former Mace staffers who spoke with WIRED. Another found her high regard for her skills somewhat at odds with her demonstrated ability. (Like all the staffers WIRED spoke with, they requested anonymity because they fear reprisal from their former boss.)

THE CURRENT STATE OF FOOL'S PARADISE (DON'T WORRY SHE'S STILL HERE)
Hello to our dear FOOPARIANS! We wanted to start this announcement with our team's sincere apology. The lack of updates on the state of the game has rightfully worried a large part of our fanbase, and we wanted to create this announcement as soon as possible.
2025 is officially our studio’s first year in business. Last year was, to be blunt, a disaster for our team. Many development team members have left over the past few years, leading to our writing team being only two individuals (thank you to Mock and Notafish, by the way, for their extremely hard work during this trying time). With no editors on standby, we are stuck with a slowly progressing script that has to be entirely written and edited by the same team. Any finished scripts are passed to our coding team (Tora coding script content and Maita scripting minigames and screens), making the choo-choo train process even slower. Alongside the large cast and expansive content of the game, our production has been snail-pace. I’m not even going to come up with the expansive list of (IRL) disasters that hit our team members individually last year, but I’ll say it was an overall bad time for us.
What we can say for sure is that we are sincerely thankful for your kindness and patience while we are producing this game. Not creating subsequent updates for you guys was irresponsible on our end, and we will be more proactive than ever to deliver the content you deserve.
Overall, FOOL’S PARADISE is still in development and an active project under our studio.
WHAT WILL HAPPEN:
To accommodate our small team, applications for open studio spots will open in early February. Open positions include 2D Artists, writers, editors, coders, and music producers. These will close on February 16. Accepted applicants will assist our studio in developing FOOL’S PARADISE and other upcoming titles.
We will release a 2.0 demo before March with the finalized script and visuals for the first portion of Act 1. Then, FOOL’S PARADISE will be released in three acts without the Kickstarter. The first act will be released for free, with the second and final acts being paid DLC. While we work on FOOL’S PARADISE in the long term, we hope you enjoy our less intensive titles as we prepare for the wild ride of our main project.
We will also open a Patreon page to help sustain our members and projects financially. Here, we will post a variety of content weekly. This ranges from exclusive artwork, drabbles, behind-the-scenes content, and early beta builds of our productions.
We are in the process of opening our official website with assets for our studio’s branding. Here, you can actively apply to our studio and view information about our titles and teams. After this is finished, we will develop an online merchandise store that will sell products from our current games.
Monthly devlogs are back! We’ll post updates about our games’ and studio’s development on our website and social media. If the log’s information pertains to a specific game, it will also be cross-posted to Itch.io.
In the meantime, why not check out our other, completed title—TOY BOX?

Someone had sent a confession on alt rock confessions a while ago about how people immediately seem to discredit artists for having any training at all; if they come from a school or have been told anything about the music industry, they are 'being groomed' as if knowing about the industry isn't simply the only way of making good, informed decisions.
They've been doing that again on the Fontaines subreddit, it is so infuriating to me. Knowledge is power. These people's thinking is loosely along the lines of 'if you have the music industry equivalent of financial literacy, you are not pure of heart' which is just dumb and backwards. What the hell, man. Look at this nonsense, directly quoted off Reddit.
I happen to have been in BIMM at the same time and can tell you for a fact that the band were nurtured by the college. Not “manufactured” per say but definitely groomed into the industry. The same happened to The Murder Capitol (sic) also. It didn’t matter what these bands made they were going to get signed and were destined for success based of their connections, markability (sic. Ed: marketability?) and network. BIMM had classes called Artist Development where teachers would pair students into groups and cover songs as weekly assignments. A significant element of the bands image, style and aesthetic arose from those classes and assignments. The band still had to find their way afterwards and build an established reputation but a Lot of groundwork was done in BIMM before they took a foot into gigging and touring etc and most of it was guided by tutors. FDC (and TMC to a lesser extent) had years of experience and were well schooled in the music game a long time before they toured. Anybody that says otherwise is talking bollox, this is straight from the horses mouth of someone that went through the trenches with both of these bands and knows the story.
If you think spending an hour in classes where you write and cover songs is industry insiderism, you are insane. I am not a professional musician, and even I have sat in on these classes. I've built a portfolio of songs written during classes. It doesn't make me a professional musician. To say that these bands had an 'unfair advantage' because they... wrote songs in classes is insane. That's like saying anyone who wrote code as part of their assignments in my computer science class had an 'unfair advantage' over someone who didn't go to school, and so accordingly should be seen as a less good computer scientist than the pure-of-heart basement coder. You sound insane.
(I'm not going to even address the claims on their image. What 'image' did Dogrel-era Fontaines have? They were Just Some Guys who turned up and played music. If anything, their look was the 'metrosexual bearded city man' look of the 2010s. If my job was to tell people to grow their hair long and make a manbun a few years too late into the long-hair-and-manbun era, I would be bad at my job. It's not like they recommended designer Lady Gaga fits for the lads. Ffs. The only time Fontaines have had a look is now, aged 28, when Romance rolled out.)
Let's put aside these tepid claims and delve into those who say there are classes that teach you how to navigate your way through the music industry. If you're a musician on some path to a music career, you've probably been to some sort of industry event. Played or attended a showcase festival. They often have talks that are meant to teach you the same things. You can go ESNS for the entire week for €100. NXNE full fest passes go for $29. Canada Music Week (arguably more of an industry-mechanics event than NXNE) costs $75 for the whole weekend (they're renaming it Departure? What? Anyways). SXSW is a tech event now and I refuse to count it. Focus Wales costs £80 for the whole weekend. The Great Escape is £108.
What I'm saying is, you get a chance to do that networking, meeting people in your industry, those starting out, those who have already been where you've been. There will be people giving advice on what to avoid, what is a myth in the industry, what a record deal means. This is not an 'unfair advantage', these are things you SHOULD know if you're going into the music industry.
It sounds as wishy-washy as anti-intellectual sentiment about those who read being 'above' you or whatever. Knowing the first thing about the music industry just means you don't die penniless at the end of your life because a horrible record contract crippled your finances and life.
#music#musicians#Fontaines D.C.#but this goes beyond them boys#music industry#good for them if they went to school? That doesn't make a career#fontaines dc

A principal—and unusual—use to which Mace put her skills, according to former staffers, was setting up burner accounts on a variety of social media platforms to monitor what people were saying about her and bolster her image. They also claim she requested that staffers make their own burner accounts to defend her online.
“We had to make multiple accounts, burner accounts, and go and reply to comments, saying things that weren’t true—even Reddit forums,” a former staffer says. “We were congressional staff, and there were actual things we could be doing to help the constituents.”
“It would be a slap in the face to taxpayers across the country for me to spent [sic] time on their dime commenting on my bosses [sic] personal life,” Sydney Long, Mace’s communications director, writes in an email to WIRED. “The only relationship the Congresswoman cares about is her one with South Carolina. She is married to her job and that is all the media should care about.” Mace’s office did not answer a detailed list of questions on the programming languages in which she is proficient and what types of devices she uses for coding.
Mace, who staff said once identified as a “never Trumper,” has become one of the president’s staunchest allies on Capitol Hill. She’s willing to go to more extreme lengths than many of her colleagues to attack Trump’s enemies and gain ample attention online in the process, like introducing a resolution to stop transgender people from using bathrooms in federal buildings that align with their gender identity rather than biological sex. (This legislation, Mace confirmed, purposefully targeted Representative Sarah McBride from Delaware, the first openly transgender member of Congress.) She also has a guiding hand on technology policy; earlier this year, for example, she reintroduced a bill she previously cosponsored in 2023, the Modernizing Government Technology Reform Act, which, if passed and signed into law, would require a sweeping audit of legacy federal IT systems.
Recently, Mace showed a “naked silhouette” of herself during a House subcommittee hearing on surveillance as part of a running string of allegations she has made against her ex-fiancé, South Carolina businessman Patrick Bryant, whom she accused of physically assaulting her and of possessing images of “underage girls” in an explosive floor speech in February. During the speech, she alleged three other men had committed various other crimes, including sexual abuse, sex trafficking, and taking videos of sexual acts without their consent. Bryant and the three other men have denied Mace’s accusations and did not respond to requests for comment from WIRED. (Because Mace’s comments were made on the House floor, she may be sheltered by the Constitution’s speech and debate clause, which protects lawmakers from lawsuits related to their legislative actions.)
In late 2023, before Mace’s house speech, the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division began an investigation into Mace’s “allegations of assault, harassment, and voyeurism.” In an unrelated deposition, which was conducted by Bryant's lawyers, the congresswoman’s passion for technology and alleged use of “Twitter burner accounts” came up at length.
The terms hack and hacking appear a combined 13 times during the deposition given by Wesley Donehue, whose firm did consulting work for Mace’s 2022 and 2024 reelection campaigns before he says he fired her as a client.
“You need to know that Nancy Mace is quite the—when I use the word ‘nerd’ or ‘geek,’ it's always favorable, but a computer nerd or a computer geek,” Donehue said in the deposition, first reported by FITSNews, a conservative-leaning South Carolina outlet. “She programs her own bots. She sets up Twitter burner accounts. This is kind of a thing she does. She sits all night on the couch and programs bots, because she's very, very computer savvy. She controls her own voter database, she programs a lot of her own website, she programs Facebook bots and Instagram bots and Twitter bots. It's what she does for fun.”
In a post on X, Donehue claimed he stopped working with Mace because, he said, “I don’t have time for her constant egotistical bullshit and drama in my life.” Donehue did not return a request for comment.
At another point in the deposition, Donehue alleged that Mace tried to get into Bryant’s phone because she found out he was using an unspecified dating app. “And because she found that,” Donehue explained, “she started thinking that he was cheating on her, so she got into his phone. And then when she got back from the Caribbean, she hacked into other apps—and I don't know what those other apps are—and seemingly found hundreds of photos and videos.” (In her February House speech, Mace alleged that Bryant “put my thumbprint on his phone” and then gave her "legal access” to his phone. During the speech, she also said, “Patrick Bryant must have forgotten that in my younger days, in my youth, I used to be a computer programmer … know enough about technology.”)
Mace’s staffers shared a similar assessment to that of what Donehue alleged: The congresswoman was often using rudimentary tools available for anyone with a professional account on social media sites, such as automating comments on her Facebook page for anyone thanking her.
“I never saw her coding shit. Ever,” the first former staffer said. “But, I mean, she’d talk about tech a lot.”

What do the brothers do, like, outside of Lucifer after he leaves with Diavolo? They got plans?
Well, three of them end up getting married.
Mammon gets married to a tall sea captain siren wrath demon named Aezorin Idreieus, Zori for short. He founds a chain of casinos called Lucky Coin and (with the help of his wife) keeps himself financially stable while still giving into his greed.
Levi is... dating? Roommates? Best friends? No one is really sure, even him and Adramalech. They live together and are game tester (Levi) and coder (Adra) at a very big tech company. Adramalech Dreik-Mukhin, as stated before, is transmasc, extremely noodle like in stature, an Envy demon, a dragon fly demon, and was a human before they died.
Satan actually lives at the castle, though he spends most of his time beneath the actual structure. He lives in the Archives, a large library beneath the castle that holds the record of everything ever to happen in Devildom (and beyond!). He's dating, but marries Diavolo's younger adopted sister, Metztli. Metzi is a small greed demon with cotton candy pink hair and she's an albino bat demon. She's very traumatized, I can give her backstory if you want it.
Asmo has three partners. Solomon, Devereax Eros, and Ariadne Kamini. Sol we know. Dev is an incubus and a stripper with the name Rose Quartz. Ari is a fashion designer for Asmo's brand. Asmo doesn't marry any of his partners, but they all have no plans of breaking up
Beel gets married to very nice gluttony demon named Dahlia Toth. She's a trans woman, short, plus size bee demon. She is also a human soul. She's the head cook at Infernal Delights, her and Beel's company. They live with Belphie (who's aro and acespec) at the House of Lamentation and host the weekly family meetings
If you have any further questions, feel free to send me an ask!

Why is landing an Internship as a Computer Engineering/Computer Science Student so hard ?
Hey there, dear coders!
I apologize for my long absence—life caught me off guard with a lot of work and projects. Now that I finally have some time, I wanted to make a post to connect with you all. Thank you so much for 1,000 subscribers! I know maintaining a community requires consistent posting, and I feel like many of you might have forgotten about me. But I promise to make something big out of this. I've been thinking about starting a newsletter where you can receive weekly emails from me, discussing something I learned that week or anything that intrigued me and I felt like sharing.
Now, back to our question: Is it really hard to land an internship as a computer science student? The answer is yes, and as a computer engineering student myself, I can attest to this.
I've often wondered why it's so difficult. After some observations, I discovered that almost every computer science student's resume looks the same. The portfolios are nearly identical, lacking uniqueness. If you've studied at the same school as your friends, what would make a recruiter choose you over them?
This is where uniqueness and a sense of self come in. Your portfolio or website should reflect exactly who you are as a person and highlight your strengths.
The second crucial factor is dedication. I've had classmates who are extremely dedicated. They might not have any special skills, but they show immense interest in what they want to do. This drive is palpable, and recruiters can sense it too.
Sometimes, the resume isn't even the most important aspect. For big companies like Oracle, what you say and know during the interview and technical tests matters more. The resume is just the very first step.
So, what I've learned along the way can be summed up in two words: uniqueness and dedication.
Now how to Create the Perfect Resume to Land an Internship as a Student ?
1. Keep the design simple:
Avoid extra designs or too many colors. While uniqueness is important, recruiters generally do not favor overly designed resumes.
2. Structure your resume properly:
- The Resume Header
Contact Information:
Full name and title: List your first and last name. Use the title of the role you want instead of your current title.
Professional email address: Use a clean format like [email protected].
Phone number: Choose the number you check most frequently. Record a professional voicemail greeting if yours is too casual.
Address: List only your city and state. Let recruiters know if you're willing to relocate if applicable.
LinkedIn or other professional social media: Include your LinkedIn profile if it's active and relevant. List any portfolios or computer engineering-related sites.
- The Resume Summary
A paragraph where you describe yourself by answering these questions:
What is your professional style? (Use one or two descriptive words such as patient, critical thinker, consensus builder, excellent designer.)
What is your greatest engineering strength?
What will you add to this particular team?
What is your process for building and maintaining computer networks?
What are you proudest of in your career?
Example:
Motivated computer engineering student with a strong foundation in software development and solid analytical and problem-solving skills. Looking for an opportunity to enhance my skills in a challenging professional environment.
- The Employment History Section
Be specific about how you contributed to each position and the impact you made.
List the job title, organization name, dates of employment, and 3–6 bullet points showcasing your achievements.
Start each bullet point with a strong action verb like collaborated or designed.
Highlight significant achievements rather than just listing responsibilities.
If you have no experience, include a projects section. This will act as your experience. Highlight how you worked on each project and your passion for it.
- The Skills Section
Combine hard and soft skills. The skills section is often the first place recruiters look to ensure you have the key abilities they're seeking. Your entire resume should support the skills you list here.
- The Education and Certifications Section
List your education, including any relevant courses or special achievements during your degree. Also, mention any certifications you have, whether from freeCodeCamp, Google, Coursera, etc.
By following these tips, you can create a resume that stands out and showcases your unique strengths and dedication. Good luck with your internship search, and remember to stay true to yourself!

x-men game!
this project- now known as x-men: xcel- is officially being written and coded! this will be a continually updating game, with no 'full game' release at any point due to the fact this is a passion project and i believe this is easier for me.
the first release is looking like it will cover character creation and basic character/plot introductions. every subsequent update will be either every month or every couple of weeks, depending on how much progress is made.
i am taking suggestions on what could be in the game at this point in time! however i may not take every suggestion offered, so please be kind.
if you are looking to possibly help with this project then please click below:
this is my first time using twine to create a game of this size and as such i do not consider myself a 'master coder' so if you have any HTML or twine skills then please dm me!
if you cannot code but still want to help then these options are available:
playtester (you will be sent smaller updates of the game weekly and you are to tell me any bugs/glitches, ooc moments or even confusing writing you find. if you do not send any feedback within a week then you will not be sent the next weeks progress.)
researcher (you will collect information in a concise way about the necessary characters/plotlines and send it to me)
writer (you will be helping me with writing the game itself, you will need to prove you can be committed to it and that you have the writing skills needed.)
thank you for reading this all and if you feel like you can help in any way then please do feel free to message me!

From DrC17 on Telegram:
PLEASE HELP!!!!
https://www.givesendgo.com/veldhuizencheese
A few weeks ago, (his) personal friends in Texas, who own a dairy and cheese farm going against “big dairy” and “corporate farming”, lost over $350,000 worth of valuable farm equipment in a freak fire.
They had everything insured recently until the insurance company conveniently dropped them due to being “too far from a fire station” (they’re 15 miles from 2 fire stations).
Regulation coders are routinely trying to find ways to harass and shut them down by combing their entire business through every code and regulation bc they are making dairy God’s way and not “corporate dairy way”—visiting them sometimes weekly with “new things” they may be in violation of but that they aren’t.
This family feeds thousands upon thousands of people, and a family of four generations works in this business that desperately needs help from you guys to stay afloat after this fire. They are one of the few dairy farms standing in the way of “corporate dairy” taking over Texas.
If you would please consider donating even $5-$20 or more to help them continue to stand it would mean the world to me.
Please Repost and thank you !!!!

Note
if we have another month of no updates, I will be withdrawing all financial support. it took discord players hounding for an update of ANY kind for Q to post the mostly updateless update. we are 3 days into the week with no weekly update/post so it feels like another broken promise on LW's behalf.. oh and we STILL haven't gotten Lorch rewards.. please just pick a schedule and release even small QoL/typo/bug updates regularly, if the coders can't handle that then it is pretty worrisome for the longevity of the game.
