Hello! I'm presuming from your post about Filipino Jon that you're also filipino, so I have a question of that's alright! (Please feel free to ignore this if I'm intruding lol)

I was at my Filipino neighbours house the other day and they made this really delicious jelly- like dessert, it was small green cubes of jelly that I'm pretty sure she said was made with leaves? And it was in a sauce made with condensed milk and something else that I can't remember.

Anyway, based on my vague description, do you happen to know what it's called? I would love to make it but I can't remember the name haha

Does it have coconut in it? Because that sounds like buko pandan

#it's possible your neighbor just didn't have coconut meat in hand but the 'sauce' is a mix of condensed milk and coconut milk iirc #the jelly is made of pandan leaves

Crafting update: I did not craft anything sewn, knitted, crocheted, or embroidered today, but I did make dulce de leche!

#the person behind the yarn #food mention #I had two new (ish) allergy asthma triggers this week #one testing if it really is coconuts I'm allergic to (it is)#and one involving a kitchen accident and the accidental vaporizing of something I already knew I was allergic to #and it turns out if I breathe it in while still recovering from the coconut thing #talking too loud (like. say. normal speaking volume) has about a 50% chance of making me start coughing #I will be okay it has just been a learning experience of a week so I took a day off crafting #BUT there's no ice cream in the freezer I can eat (related to the whole coconut thing)#and I did not feel like chopping apples for muffins so...dulce de leche!#maybe I'll make muffins tomorrow #the dulce de leche is the 'made with milk and sugar on the stovetop' kind not the 'cooking a sealed can of sweetened condensed milk' version #I am sure that version is good I am just to concerned about the possibility of it exploding
