Rice Gateau
Bonjour! Let’s make a Rice Gateau! We are traveling to Paris, France for our honeymoon and we wanted to share a unique Parisian sweet treat we hope to find during our trip. Over a year ago Devin and I were walking home after dinner (and a few drinks) and stumbled into a used bookstore. Their cookbook collection was quite impressive and we left with The Essential Rice Cookbookby Zoe Harpham. This…

Pasta & Cherry Tomato Pie
Pasta & Cherry Tomato Pie
This weekend we made what I would like to call a rustic charmer. Pasta & Cherry Tomato Pie according to The Easy Kitchen: Comfort Food, is considered a Scottish pie which from what I can tell is a mac & cheese filled pie crust with sliced cherry tomatoes on top to resemble pepperoni on a pizza. We weren’t quite sure what to think about this recipe but TRUST ME it’s good.  Typically this pie is…

Greek Turkey Burgers with Tzatziki Sauce
I’ll admit it, every January I join the healthy bandwagon and pledge my life to eating better and going to the gym. Now, I haven’t visited the gym yet…but I have started to eat healthier! I count this as a huge win during the first month of 2018. I was really craving a greasy burger the other day but I decided to try out a Greek turkey burger with tzatziki sauce instead. Around the holiday time,…

Simple Rice Noodle Crisps
I cannot believe Christmas is less than a month away! It seems like it has been sneaking up on me faster each year but the main cause this year has been planning our wedding. Time is sure flying by when I’m stressed about rental details and invitations. I’ve been so distracted that I didn’t realize I said yes to every holiday party we have been invited to. This means Devin and I have FIVE-holiday…

Golden State Cider
Happy DAM Good Drinks Day! If you are gluten free then you know cider is your best friend. I always hear non-cider lovers say cider is too sweet but, I have a theory they have only tried Angry Orchards.  Nothing wrong with a good Angry Orchards but their ciders tend to be on the sweeter side. I personally prefer very dry ciders so, I’m always on the quest to find dry ciders that fit the flavor…

Asian Style Sweet Potato Salad
Asian Style Sweet Potato Salad
I love potato salad. I feel like Oprah when she shouts “I LOVE BREAD” but obviously I would never shout I love bread. That’s just silly. Back to the point of the post: Potato salad is simply the best side food. It’s filling, soft, cold, different textures, full of mayo, goes with any main dish, etc. Why I’m not serving it at my wedding I don’t know! Perfection in my opinion. The other day I was…

Irish Apple Cider
Who doesn't love a hot apple cider in the fall time? Katie and I definitely do. After the past 3 weeks going through this blog site update, we especially needed a drink. As I mentioned before, I decided on a whim to change our blog site from Wordpress.com to Wordpress.org. Why did Katie and I make this change? The main reasons we made this change is because we had more flexibility and options with the future of DAM Good Food. We also had been researching a discussing the switch for months but deciding to start on that particular day was a spontaneous choice of mine. I did not expect the complications or time frame so that was a little frustrating. DAM Good Food can finally proceed and I couldn't be happier! I decided to make an Irish Apple Cider. I chose to use Jameson Whiskey because it is my favorite Irish whiskey and also the only gluten free whiskey option for Katie. The cinnamon syrup seems like a process but it is very simple to make and also makes a ton of leftovers for future drinks and coffees! You can also purchase cinnamon syrup but I prefer to make it from scratch. Irish Apple Cider 2oz Irish Whiskey (I prefer Jameson, it is also the only gluten free Irish Whiskey) 1oz Cinnamon Syrup 7oz Apple Cider Apple Wedge and Cinnamon Stick for garnish Cinnamon Syrup Instructions  1 cup sugar 1 cup water 3 cinnamon sticks Combine all ingredients in a saucepan or small pot. Heat at medium-high while stirring  constantly until sugar has dissolved.  Remove from heat and let cool. Put away in a small mason jar once cooled.   Click to Post

attention body:
Starting tomorrow we are going to be living our life differently.. It's not a 'health-kick' because I want to change my lifestyle and not get back to this stage. Healthy eating and exercise are becoming my new best friends!
I will: eat/live vegan, only eat raw foods before 4 P.M. & eat a total of no gluten - stop you're making yourself sick, move ATLEAST 12000 steps EVERYDAY.
Stay tuned..
