#cobra kai interview

Yesterday night I watched Brandon H. Lee's interview with the Cobra Kai Kid and I'd like to share with you some interesting answers he gave along with some conclusions I've arrived after watching some other interviews of him:

Kwon is basically written to be a villain villain, not a misunderstood villain. Translation: we won't be seeing any character development I fear :')

Kim and Kreese have told the Korean team about Miyagi Do and its students. But they won't explicit that in the show. It's left to the viewer to assume that.

"You guys will se what you see in parts 2 and 3" (so he'll also be in part 3?? Let's hope so)

In part 2 he will appear "a lot more".

"The creators are amazing at giving the fans what they want" (he said that referring to the fights so I think we will see him fighting at least against Miguel, Robby and Hawk).

The scene where he kicks the highest mark on the wall was a "freaking fun scene to film" (makes me wonder if the kick competition is official or if it's just something the guys start doing only "to proof who has it bigger" XD).

The spit and the patch taking thing during the trio fight was all Brandon's improvising, same as the korean phrases.

He describes Kwon as a bold character.

He says the members of the cast he ended up hanging out with the most were Jacob and Tanner 😍😍. In fact, Tanner insisted to drive him to the training lot even though it was just 5 minutes away from the other studio (we love the rivals on character, friends behind the scenes dynamic).

This is maybe just me being paranoid but I noticed he was so careful not to mention Peyton in any of his answers 😂. He barely said "oh yeah, seeing that Tory was on our team was a big surprise" and that was it.

And talking about paranoid: Brandon please stop saying "Kwon is Cobra Kai till I die"🥲 in every interview, especially now that the leak about your character is in everyone's mind.

Finally, he said something about film making that I want to leave here for my fellow perfectionist writers: if you publish something you really like and then you don't like anything you write after that, because you don't think it's as good, and you go months and months without publishing or writing anything, you should find the fun again in what you do and only do it for fun ❤

When the interviewer asked when we should expect s5 to be coming out, that’s when Shawn mentioned that a little bit of an answer to that might be out there soon.

He actually mentions that this answer could be out by the time the video for this interview comes out, and since this interview was filmed mid-May and it’s now mid-June, I’m assuming we could be getting something soon or within the next couple months, potentially about a release date aka possibly a small teaser with 2025 stamped at the end…

TVLINE | Silver is a master manipulator. Can you speak a bit about his ability to seduce people to the dark side? I think in those manipulative moments, there’s truth. Getting that history of Miyagi and presenting it to Daniel, as a character who has had so many ups and downs emotionally and where he’s at, I can relate to [Daniel]. “The bulwark of my philosophy is crumbling, but look at what you come from.” So there’s truth in that. There’s an intelligence to Terry. He’s not just this thug-like character. I think why those scenes work and those moments work and people relate to them is because there’s such commitment from Silver in doing it. It’s not just mustache twirling. It goes beyond that. It goes by something I really believe in or this character really believes in… I gotta stop saying “I” believe in it because people will think I’m crazy! [Laughs]

I both hate and love Gianni’s interviews because he’s so unserious, but because he’s so unserious I never know what true or not because he’ll be saying stuff like “we get to see a different side to Demetri this season” then immediately after that say “he’s so scary and then he DIES it’s crazyyy” like what

I get the giggles when I think about Cobra Kai part 2 promotion tour and imagine Peyton, Brandon and Tanner together

Do you think we will get to see all three of them together?? It would be so fun listening to their experience creating this new "love triangle"

I want to know what Brandon thinks about the ship edits of Tory x Kwon that were around even before the trailer for part 2 came out. I mean, the man really said so much with just one look:

It would also be so much fun watching Tanner and Brandon interact as their real selves and not as rivals, because both of them have totally cheerful personalities 😂
