That year, the NHL was embroiled in one of its periodic work stoppages, this one a lockout.Players were allowed at practice facilities, but team officials were not.
Crosby took on the role of media relations director. A day in advance, he’d tell the media what time Penguins players — usually around a dozen — would be working out. One time, in a particularly endearing moment, players canceled the next day’s workout. So, Crosby called me and asked me to tell the rest of the media not to show up. It was a very strange time for hockey and especially for Crosby, who had just lost 100 games in his prime due to a concussion. Now, he was missing more time in his prime because of a lockout.
Also because of the lockout, Crosby had plenty of time for introspection along with his hockey player and media relations duties. He had time to pay close attention to the rest of the hockey world, too, a privilege he typically isn’t afforded in October.
Two hours north of Pittsburgh, a 15-year-old sensation had arrived in Erie, Pa. — Connor McDavid was taking the Ontario Hockey League by storm. I had decided to travel to Erie with Penguins broadcaster Paul Steigerwald on Saturday, the night of McDavid’s second home game, when the Erie Otters were taking on the London Knights.
On the game’s first shift, McDavid split defensemen Olli Määttä and Scott Harrington and then scored to finish off a highlight reel goal.
Dan Bylsma, then coaching the Penguins, was there. Following the game, he chewed out Määttä and Harrington, a couple of Penguins draft picks, for allowing that goal on the game’s first shift. After seeing the interaction, I joked to Bylsma, something along the lines of, “I don’t know, that McDavid kid is kinda good.”
Bylsma looked at me and said: “He’s 15. They shouldn’t be getting split like that.”
I relayed this story to Crosby, who asked if Bylsma really said that. Then he took my side.
“Doesn’t matter how old he is. He’s different,” Crosby said.
Oh?
Crosby always politely answers questions about players, but he doesn’t typically go out of his way like that.
Then it occurred to me that Erie Otters games aren’t televised in Pittsburgh. I had assumed that Crosby had never seen McDavid play.
“Got some time on my hands these days,” Crosby said with a smile. “I’ve seen him. I’ve seen highlights of him.”
The greatest player in the world is checking out YouTube highlights of a 15-year-old hockey player?
“Yep,” Crosby said.
Then he said something I’ll never forget. Sensing that he saw something in McDavid that was different, I asked him if McDavid reminded him of anyone. In a non-arrogant way, Crosby quietly said, “He reminds me of me.”
Make no mistake, he admired all of the players who were compared to him. He once told me that, if he could shoot the puck like Alex Ovechkin, he wouldn’t pass as much as he does. I once saw him shake his head when he watched Patrick Kane stickhandle around an opponent on TV.
But he never anointed other players, even if he would marvel.
With McDavid, stylistically, Crosby saw himself. And he saw talent that was out of this world.
Crosby didn’t feel threatened. He understood that someone else always comes along.

ok i feel like maybe this is really niche but
i’ve been rewatching the newsroom for the 20th time and like… ok
just imagine. steve is this big shot prime time tv news anchor for one of the major networks. he anchors the eight o’clock hour and he’s lonely, isolated, big ego in an even bigger city cause he knows he’s good, just almost number one and the audience loves him, trusts him, admires him and that’s really all he needs. it doesn’t matter that he’s running a toothless program, that he doesn’t challenge his guests, that he sacrifices truth for the sake of being neutral. it doesn’t matter because hes on top and they like him, hes got something hes never had before: love. or at least the closest thing he thinks he’ll ever get to it. the audience loves him. that’s all he needs.
but the president of his network’s news division and his best friend—robin buckley (she’s the youngest president the news division has ever had and the first woman to hold the role)—is growing increasingly worried. just last week steve let a five star general off the hook for admitted war crimes, didn’t push back once even when the guy was clearly lying right to steve’s face and live on the air. robin has seen steve at his best and this isn’t it. his best was when…
well, his best was seven years ago when eddie munson was his executive producer. steve’s best stopped showing up to work with him when eddie munson had fled the country, taken off with a team—dustin included!—to the middle east to cover one of the many us occupations for a competitor network.
but robin’s heard news that eddie munson is back and that he’s looking for a place to land. his current network doesn’t have a spot for him, not on this side of the prime meridian and rumor has it eddie’s looking for a permanent gig now, has had enough of traveling and army rations to last a lifetime.
so robin reviews the tapes. sees the magic steve and eddie used to make together, the way steve could light up a screen. the way he could think on his feet, the way eddie coached him into asking the tough questions. and robin is also not stupid. she knows what happened between the two of them or at least could connect enough of the dots from what little steve’s told her and figure out just why eddie had felt the need to leave the country all together.
she’s fully expecting the backlash when steve finds out she’s hired his former ep, the man who, just as steve was preparing to get down on one knee and ask a very important question, had confessed to having cheated on steve for four months at the beginning of their relationship. but she’s also right. they make magic together in the studio. and maybe steve needs eddie there, just behind the monitor, to remind him why he even wanted to do the news in the first place.

I can't sleep so I'm just laid here and I started thinking about the Foxes that go on to play exy professionally and what they'd do after retirement:
Andrew
I know for a fact that this interaction happened during Andrews last press event after his last match.
Reporter: so Andrew, now that you've officially retired, what are you gonna do now?
Andrew: I'm gonna be a stay at home dad.
Obviously the reporters run w it and suddenly everyone's trying to figure out when Andrew had kids and who with all the while he's at home with the cats aka his children all day.
I also think he either starts coaching exy at a school or at a youth centre because he recognises the out that exy gave him and he's great with kids.
Neil
Neil's got too much of a mouth on him to go quietly into retirement so I definitely see him being a commentator and providing some of the highest praise and most iconic insults ever known to the sports channels.
I feel like he'd miss actually playing though so he'd probably become some kind of coach. Maybe even goes back to PSU to help Dan as assistant coach after Wymack retires.
Kevin
That boy was born and bred for his own sports related show. I like the idea of him and Jeremy hosting this exy post show where they go over everything that's happened in the week. Jeremy is ever positive, Kevin is harsher with his commentary but they've both got smiles made for prime time TV.
They have a 3rd on the panel reserved for a different special guest each week. Such special guests at one point include Neil, Wymack, and Andrew who only went on to see if he could get Kevin to crack and break character.
Matt
100% becomes a stay at home dad to his and Dan's actual human kids and their golden retriever. During this retirement press conference he says something about proudly being Dan's trophy husband.
Coach's his kids little league team, even if they're not playing exy. Makes homemade signs with the kids for when they go watch the Foxes play.
Buys Andrew a matching "best dad ever" mug the minute Andrew drops that line in his interview. When Neil teams up with Dan to coach the Foxes these two become random best buds, going out for food and and drinks together, sitting together at games, worldlessly teaming up to make sure Dan and Neil have lunch every day at practise.
+ Jeremy and Jean
The minute Jean retires he's done with exy. Jeremy goes on to do a shit ton of charity work and be on the weekly prime time exy show with Kevin but Jean is more than happy to stay out of the public eye.
They live on a farm or like in a super cute small town where nobody bothers them. Jean spends all day reading books, painting, takes up photography and becomes so good that he's hired by the locals for weddings, newborn pics, etc. He's a regular at the farmers market. Maybe if they live on a farm then he has his own stall selling eggs, jams, and family recipes that Jeremy passed down to him from the Knox family and that Jean has perfected over the years.
And they travel as much as they can! They have a second home in France and use that as their home base while they trav around Europe every chance they can get.

OC Interview
Thank you @riveriafalll for tagging me! I love games that allow me to highlight my ocs.
My questions:
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
If you could travel in time, where would you go and why?
What does your bed look like? (shape, size, number of pillows, stuffed animals excetra-)
These are my MCs from Soup of the Day: Christian Laine and Jordyn Rowell. Happens before the novel starts.
-
When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
Christian: Uh, I really had no clue. I mostly focused on making it through school alive, especially middle. I didn't really know I wanted to do something with law until I was in college. But when I was really young, I liked animals, so maybe a vet?
Jordyn: Haha, I wanted to play for the Texas Rangers when I was like eight. And then we found out I'm not that great at baseball, so then, I wanted to be a P.E. coach. And I wanted to be an astronaut for a little while there, so that was really strange.
-
If you could travel in time, where would you go, and why?
Christian: I would not. I'd rather not relive my past—or the past, in general—and I don’t if I could live organically if I knew what the future holds. Org- oganically? Is that the right word? I guess.
Jordyn: Oh, definitely the past. I could meet and live during the time that some of the great players did! In their prime! That'd be fucking sick.
-
What does your bed look like? (shape, size, number of pillows, stuffed animals, etc.)
Christian: So, it's a king bed. Uh, two pillows on each side. I personally don't have any stuffed animals, but I'm sure there's some that April has left stuck under the covers somewhere. The sheets and comforter are just white. Oh, and I don't think I made it up before I left. And I think April spilt orange juice in it this morning, so. There's that.
Jordyn: It's just a queen bed with sheets and a dark blue comforter. A couple pillows tossed on top. Both sides are used because I tend to starfish, but I'm alone if anyone wants to come share with me...
-
Your questions:
When you were growing up, what was breakfast like? (food, atmosphere, setting, etc.)
TV (or time period/universe equivalent) or reading, and why?
What is one thing that gets you out of bed in the morning?
No pressure tagging: @willowseed, @the-golden-comet, @agirlandherquill, @floweryprosegarden, @charlesjosephwrites, @zackprincebooks, @dyoniawrites, @chayscribbles, +open tag

Note
ive been rewatching columbo eps on prime video (idk where to get the other season after 7 :c) and i'm just done with A Case of Immunity, the one with the Suarian Kingdom and the whitest middle east guy i've ever seen ? And like. I'm not a fan of that episode, but. I feel like i'm missing a lot of political or historical context for that episode ? And I wanted to know if you knew more. Thank u, I'll get back to my little guy show now.
you're not missing much.
the latter portion of original columbo was marked by an increased desire to show him in radically different contexts--between a man on international waters, an arab diplomat, a IRA liason, a CIA agent, and a mexican matador, it suffices to say columbo got around a little more as time went on. and due to the growing US interest in the middle east throughout the 70s (most of europe's imperialist/colonialist tendrils had vacated, cold war alliances were being made, israel, oil, etc.) i suppose they thought people would want to see something topical. they also didn't want to piss anybody off, so the Very Real Country of Suari it was.
the role of hassan salah was originally intended for ben gazzara, but he was scrapped by the network for being too expensive (much to peter falk's consternation). mine too, really, because though hector elizondo did a fantastic job, i think gazzara would've played a better arab. he was sicillian, but i wouldn't be surprised if he had actual arab heritage, as sicilians very often do. his surname is arabic as hell--غزارة is arabic for "abundance", which ended up as a loanward in italian to mean "noisy".
ultimately though, the middle east is an ethnically and geographically diverse region containing a wide variety of looks and skin tones. for one, i and my entire family are lebanese. my skin is rather pale, my grandfather was tan but had pale blue eyes, my aunt is nearly blonde, etc. so elizondo's countenance may not scream "arab" nearly as much as gazzara's, but levant, maghreb, or gulf--he's not all that unbelievable either.
Tumblr media
funnily enough, in middle ages arabia, those with blue eyes were associated with duplicitous and untrustworthy behavior....
i guess something that does kinda make me roll my eyes is the treatment of the language. to their credit, the characters do speak and write real arabic in the show, albeit...poorly. obviously it's a 70s tv movie, who cares about accurate glottal stops, but they spent like eight grand to rent a learjet for one of the scenes, and the arabic is real and (mostly) intelligible, so clearly somebody translated it. would it have killed them to hire a dialect coach?
Tumblr media
we did get some extremely jewish-sounding arabic out of peter though. so. all is emphatically forgiven
the one thing that truly rubs me the wrong way about the episode is that it's noxiously sympathetic to the american political ethos of the time, which as we well know could do no wrong. watch columbo OWN this EVIL diplomat donned in traditional garb who wants to retain his country's DISGUSTING traditional ways while the new, hip young king who was probably forcefully instituted by american troops in a coup you'll never learn about is COOL and LOVES AMERICA and will lead his oil-filled country on camelback into a beautiful sunset of BEING COOL and LOVING AMERICA. there's NO WAY this could go south. STOP looking at iran NOW
(speaking of which, the state dept. rep who bursts columbo's bubble, kermit morgan, might or might not be a nod to kermit roosevelt jr. who played a central role in the CIA's ousting of iran's mosaddegh in 1953)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
...least he's honest
anyway, in retrospect this episode isn't the series' finest moment, but it's a decent watch--and believe me, far and away not the worst treatment of arabs hollywood has thrown at us over the years. i know i'd certainly take a dozen of these over whatever the hell they were churning out post-9/11.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
wallahi i could've forgiven the weird culturally inaccurate bowing if they just put columbo in a keffiyeh...

I was tagged by @twinkodium. This was a lot of fun! Thanks for the tag! 😊
Star Sign:
Aries. 🐏 (I don’t believe in zodiac signs and their supposed meanings. I just know I’m an Aries as I was born on 22nd March. 🤷🏻‍♀️)
Favourite Holiday:
Easter! 🐰🥚🌸 Because chocolate. I’m ADDICTED to the stuff! 🍫 Also, Spring is one of my favourite seasons. I just love seeing nature come back to life and seeing more wildlife more often after a long winter period. It brings me so much joy every single time. 😌
Last Meal:
I’ve just eaten homemade toad-in-the-hole for linner (dinner at lunchtime). It was deeeeelicious! 🤤😋
Current Favourite Musician:
Depeche Mode. I fell in love with them ever since they released their latest album Memento Mori (2023). I pretty much binged the whole of their discography on Spotify last year out of sheer curiosity and I’ve now become strangely obsessed with them as a result. I’ve recently learned that fans of DM are called “Devotees”, soooo yeah. I’m a Devotee now! Whoopsie! 🌹🎹
Last Music Listened To:
Meet Me In The Woods by Lord Huron. I like me a good folk rock song to keep me going. This song was just so pleasant to listen to. Plus, it’s very catchy. I couldn’t get it out of my head after listening to it.
Last Movie Watched:
I watched The Ballad of Buster Scruggs (2018) with my parents on Netflix a couple of weeks ago. For those who don’t know, it’s an anthology film of sorts containing many different stories centred around the Wild West. My dad recommended it to me as he likes watching films made by the Coen Brothers. I don’t have a lot to say about it other than I really enjoyed it. I’m a film buff and I usually have a lot to say about the films I’ve just seen, so having that happen to me was really odd. 🤔
Last TV Show Watched:
I don’t watch a lot of TV and I don’t keep up to date with any shows, so I don’t know if what I’ve put down counts.
I recently finished watching the Fernando (2020–) docuseries on Amazon Prime and I loved it. 🤩 It’s mainly about Fernando Alonso and the many adventures he got up to during his 2-year retirement from F1. It’s really interesting!
Last Book/Fic Finished:
The last book I read was The Bourne Identity by Robert Ludlum and the last fic I read was a Chalex fic called I Can Feel The Sun On You by mintchocolatechip97.
Last Book/Fic Abandoned:
The book I abandoned quite swiftly was a Dave Grohl autobiography my uncle and auntie got me for Christmas. I was never a Foo Fighters listener and I’m not a Foo Fighters fan. I still have no idea why they thought I’d like it. Sorry to the people who like them, they’re just not for me. 🙁
Currently Reading:
A Pocketful Of Happiness by Richard E. Grant. It’s such a sweet, tender, and heartbreaking autobiography that highlights how he got into acting and how he met and fell in love with his acting coach Joan Washington. ❤️
Last Thing Researched for Writing/Art/Hyperfixation:
“sebastian vettel mark webber 2010 monaco”. Just seeing pictures of these two smiling and hugging each other makes me smile. 🥰 I was also psyching myself up for this week’s F1 Watch Party on Discord, which, funnily enough, will be streaming the 2010 Monaco Grand Prix this Sunday. I can’t wait!!!! 🏎️💨🏁
Favourite Fandom Online Memory:
I love making friends through their interests in the fandom. The F1 community is massive, so it was easy for me to make friends online and in person as a result. I can feel comfortable being weird around them and in turn they can feel comfortable being weird around me. 🥰🥰🥰
Favourite Old Fandom You Wish Would Drag You Back In/Have A Resurgence:
I used to love the Merlin fandom when it was popular. I still do, but not as strongly as I used to.
Favourite Thing You Enjoy That Never Had an Active or Big “Fandom” But You Wish It Did:
Hmmm, this is a tough question. I’m not fussed with how popular my fandom choices are. If I had to choose one though, I’d say The Beatles. I think a lot of RPFs about certain bands and singers don’t get as much attention as, say, Formula 1 or Super Mario or Supernatural do.
Tempting Project You’re Trying To Rein In/Don’t Have Time For:
I really want to post some more fanfics on AO3, make some more banners on InShot, and do some video editing and gif making on CapCut, but I’m incredibly slow at doing all of them because college work keeps getting in the way of my plans. 😵‍💫 I hardly have enough free time to do any of them. Don’t worry though, I haven’t abandoned them altogether. I will get them done eventually! 🤞🏻
I tag the following peeps: @kaossbells, @hurricane-heatt, @racingliners, @formulaes5, and @wanderingblindly. Feel free to participate if you’d like to. No pressure obviously. 😊

October 12th 1929 saw the birth of Magnus Magnusson, writer, broadcaster and quiznmaster in TV programme “Mastermind”.
Aye ah know he wasn’t born in Scotland but -I’ve started so I’ll finish!
Magnus was born in Reykjavík but grew up in Edinburgh, where his father, Sigursteinn Magnússon, was the Icelandic consul. Magnus’ Icelandic name at birth was Magnús Sigursteinsson, but in Scotland his family adopted British naming conventions and from childhood he used his father’s patronymic as a surname. Living in Joppa, he was educated at the Edinburgh Academy and was in the school’s marching brass band. So to those saying he’s not Scottish, he did live almost his entire life here.
After graduating from Jesus College, Oxford, Magnusson became a reporter with the Scottish Daily Express and The Scotsman. He went freelance in 1967, then joined the British Broadcasting Corporation, presenting programmes on history and archaeology as well as appearing in news programmes.
He retained his academic connections, however, and was Lord Rector of Edinburgh University from 1975 to 1978 from 2002 served as chancellor of Glasgow Caledonian University. The Magnus Magnusson Fellowship, an intellectual group based at the Glasgow Caledonian University, was named in his honour. Magnusson’s books included I’ve Started so I’ll Finish, a memoir of his years on Mastermind, and Scotland: The Story of a Nation.
Magnus of course is most famous for the quiz show, Mastermind, it was originally broadcast late on a Sunday night and was not expected to receive a huge audience. In 1973 it was moved to a prime-time slot as an emergency replacement for a Leslie Phillips sitcom, Casanova ‘73, which had been moved to a later time following complaints about its risqué content. The quiz subsequently became one of the most-watched shows on television. Magnusson was famous for his catchphrase “I’ve started so I’ll finish,” which was also the title of his history of the show. The original series was also noted for the variety of venues where filming took place—often including academic and ecclesiastical buildings. The last programme of the original series was filmed at St Magnus Cathedral in Orkney.
To further add to Magnus’s credentials for being a Scot he married Glasgow lass Mamie Ian Baird and they had 5 children together, including Reporting Scotland presenter Sally.
On 12th October 2006, his 77th birthday, Magnusson was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Magnusson mordantly noted that “This has to be one of my worst birthdays ever”. His condition forced him to cancel a string of public appearances. He died on 7th January 2007.The Aigas Field Centre a nature centre near Beauly has a building named in his honour.
In 2014 an auction sold off a lot of his belongings for the Scottish based Balmore Trust, a fair trade charity which sells fairly-traded goods in its shop The Coach House and supports projects in Africa, India and the west of Scotland.
Magnus Magnusson, Icelandic by birth Scottish through choice. Anyone still not convinced of his Scottish & Proud credentials, check out this quote from the man “I have got the best of both worlds; growing up in Edinburgh and now living outside Glasgow.”
Scotland is a welcoming country and have a rich culture which comes from all round the world, with his writing and knowledge Magnus brought so much to our country
Magnus Magnusson is buried in Baldernock Churchyard, East Dunbartonshire.

So, I was deep into opinions on DHMIS again, and this time I've developed a theory/interpretation of my own that I genuinely like better than all the others I've seen.
First, the YouTube series and the TV series aren't directly related, "plot" wise.
I say this, because I think Lesley created the whole story. She didn't create the characters; instead she's using them, characters from a children's TV show, to make up her own stories.
Either because she genuinely liked the show or, the option I like the most, because they remind her of her son. Maybe it was a show he loved, and maybe they even watched it together, and now she clings to it as a way to cling to his memory.
I think she tries to create or imitate stories from the show, or that could fit in the show, but her adult knowledge, her odd sense of humor, and her hurt and cynicism from David's death always find a way in, and the stories take dark turns, have dark moments, or are just built around or into unsetlling themes. And when she catches herself doing that, instead of preserving her son's memory "properly", that's when the anger comes out, and it sometimes shows in the characters we're watching now.
I think Yellow Guy matters a lot, because he was David's favourite, and Lesley is projecting HARD onto him. The whole last episode is basically Lesley having a self-insert moment, bonding with Yellow Guy, the youngest character, the perpetually underestimated one. But ultimately he can't replace David, and so She has to kick him out, and full back into her coping routine.
In the car episode, things went off the rails after she accidentally triggered her memories of David's accident, and so she created a narrative where they ended worse than if they had stayed at home, and she saves them.
Hell, in the family episode she's airing out her grievances with everyone who thinks they have all the answers about family and how incomplete you are without a "proper" one. That and the worm ones are the most cynical ones, where the sentiment against preachy assholes is on full display.
In the family one she kinda writes herself into a corner, so she solves it by pulling a Roy Ex Machina, who even devours all the toxic and abusive family members.
In the worm one, she's reminded of the self-help guru types, the life coaches and other such scammers who are only looking to make money at the expense of vulnerable people - as someone who lost a son, she would be a prime target for them.
Every episode it's Lesley using the characters and the format as a way to exorcise some demons. It's probably not the healthiest way, but it's what she has.
Tl;Dr: the YouTube series is the original children's TV show, and the TV show is Lesley's coping mechanism to deal with the death of her son by using the characters to create stories.

Psych
8 Seasons
stream on Apple TV, Peacock, Prime Video (or here 🏴‍☠️ )
PG-13* show, some sexual jokes & such, passionate kissing, nothing explicit at all
(on IMDB the US rating is PG, but the Apple TV rating is TV-14, so idk)
I do normally skip the second scene in the first episode cause it makes me uncomfy, 2:01-3:35, (spoiler summary) Shawn makes out on a coach with a girl, the TV is on, he notices on the news that they're covering a recent murder in the town and interviewing a local, he calls the police to say that the person they were interviewing on the news is the killer
IMDB summary:   When a novice sleuth convinces the police he has psychic powers, he and his reluctant best friend are hired on as consultants to help solve complicated cases.
Genre: comedy-drama
reasons to watch it:
- it’s an anthology (I love anthologies)
- it is genuinely hilarious
- there's a movie musical that never takes itself seriously whatsoever
- Shawn & Gus’s dynamic never stops being entertaining
- Shawn canonically has ADHD!
- Along with Lassiter canonically being pansexual, he is considered by many to be autistic coded!

Pretty cool answers, got some more questions ;)
1: in a earlier post I retweeted, you said Chris tried to try out for the basketball team & got rejected, how come he got rejected & did Jake cheered him up?
2: what’s their favorite movie out of millions of them; what’s the one movie they chose for like family movie night every time?
3: what’s their personalities like?
4: do they like to watch wrestling? If they like WWE, which era do they like?
5: silly question, when sneaking into a place, do they slap each other on the butt & say ladies first?
6: do they have an OCs?
7: not really a question but one of your OCs is a evil kid kryptonian & I can see his appearance as Lor-Zod of prime earth with the half long hair & buzzcut on the other side.
All too happy to answer them in turn my friend @gothicghost2000 ;-)
1. Well, ironically Chris has his red solar watch on during the trials to play as fair and normal as the other players trying out were. The thing is without his secret powers to help him standout, the coach deemed Chris’ performance too bland and by the books when his team needed players who brought some flair and even slightly dirty tricks to their style of play.
Hence came Chris being ultimately passed over and him having to go to Bomp N’ Stomp to drown out his sorrows with ice cream. Thankfully after Jake found out about this, he remembered some words of encouragement and consideration his Uncle Vic gave him back them after his first ever attempt in joining a team. He tells his best friend that what ultimately matters is that he plays the best he can, powers or not, and to never give up playing only because the coach tells him to with harsh words. Chris smiles at that remark and maybe either later that day or the following day, the two visit the park for an all out game between them at the courts.
2. Both Chris and Jake absolutely cannot pass up the chance for watching Star Wars III Revenge of the Sith, The Incredibles I or Godzilla King of the Monsters (2019) if either happen on playing on TV. As for movies for family nights, Chris and Jake would regularly suggest any of those choices, especially The Incredibles though individually, Chris can pick out any of the MCU films, especially Thor Ragnorak while Jake goes with a less than traditional choice of more ‘mature’ selections including but limited to The Waterboy, The Interview (2014) and even if Dick can permit, the ever so infamous Wicked Scary series. The latter only if Jake promises not to eat anything too heavy as they watch for a combo of that and the movie equals real bad nightmares.
3. Chris I imagine is more reserved, not as much talkative as his brothers, often trying to shy away from situations like here he doesn’t feel confident can result in good, likes his privacy during slower moments, has an almost innate fear of being sent away and rejected by his family for any tiny mistake he can make but nonetheless does good whoever he can, selfless, brave when faced against insurmountable odds, can have a jovial side when next to friends and loved ones, in particular Jon and Jake, feels authentically proud when he does something good, and above all else is a bright, likable kid who you can’t see a true once of bad in
Then there’s Jake. Unlike his most boisterous, lively and outspoken Big Sister, he’s relatively more reserved and laid back. Often being more observant of his surroundings and curious about many things which he feels are important, Jake doesn’t give up on finding answers to those questions no matter how long he feels the need to wait for their answering. Thankfully he’s a patient and understanding sort who can see from others’ viewpoints and comes to his conclusions once he has enough to go off from. Other than that, he’s very cooperative with his allies of all sorts. He’s usually a natural born partner rather than a leader but he’s competent and skilled in whatever task he’s given. He also never truly compromises on his beliefs and goals in life as a superhero, always striving to find other ways around seemingly impossible situations and choices even against the most heinous and vile of villains. He’s also kind at heart, compassionate, optimistic and hardworking on whatever needs to be done. He’s overall what you can conceivably call an ultimate sidekick, a moniker he can reasonably be proud of though don’t call him the perfect Robin, that honor goes to both his Father and above all elseX his Uncle Tim(my) Drake
4. Oh Me Oh My they certainly do and while they have their respective issue with that company, the Duo do like WWE, at least in terms of the stories and the performers who do such. Beyond any doubt, both Chris and Jake are in solid agreement of the rather raunchy Attitude Era from 1996 to 2001 being their favorite ones. As for their favorite wrestlers, two stand out, The Undertaker and Mankind from Late 1998 to 2000.
5. Nah, they’re simply too young for that stuff lol. They be confused if someone asked them that directly
6. If you mean like character they create themselves when being artistic; they have created something of a parody superhero who gains his powers from Apple pies and duels with a robot supervillain in comics they write and draw together, then give to some of their friends at school. Of course inspired by Captain Underpants
7. That……makes a lot of sense why. I originally had in mind Vla Bol having a Blond Buzzcut Haistyle with steel cold blue eyes, a scar on his right cheek, decked out in a militaristic private’s outfit with his Logo (an X with differing colors per two arms, upper left and lower right in black and upper right and lower left in green) on an armband on his right arm, and finally on his belt, tags that belong to his fallen comrades. But the Rebirth design for Lor Zod being applied if plausible lol

Secrets of Screen Acting
There are no secrets or techniques for screen acting. That’s the truth! As a school offering the best screen acting classes in Glasgow, take it from us. Our experience and knowledge comes from actually doing it at the highest level.
Acting is acting. There is no specific method for screen acting or stage acting. You simply calibrate to the different environments, that’s all.
When you work on screen, you’ll be working with a group of highly skilled technicians. They will take care of all the technical aspects to bring the scene together. It’s not your job to worry about positioning yourself for the camera, making the scene dramatic and all these other things that so called screen acting ‘coaches’ or books tell you to worry about.
You simply turn up prepared, take on the director’s notes and then act! That’s it.
Oh and another thing, the whole concept of ‘do less’ for camera couldn’t be more flawed. When we watch TV and Film we want to see something believable and watching someone consciously ‘do less’ and suppress expressions isn’t believable.
Think about your favourite film or tv show. Are the actors ‘doing less’ or are they truthful. The latter right?
Watch behind the scenes footage of films and TV shows, you won’t see the actors doing any special techniques for camera. Being on set is highly pressured as it is, you don’t need to make it worse by having some made up technique in your head.
All you need to do is learn how to act well. If you can do that, then you’ll be able to make the necessary adjustments and nail screen acting and stage acting with ease.
Sign up to our affordable acting classes in Glasgow. We’ll teach you how to act well to an industry standard and we’ll show you how to make the necessary adjustments to both screen and stage!
Don’t fall into the trap of charlatans who claim to know the secrets. They don’t!
All our short films are on our YouTube channels. We release films starring our students in cinemas like the Odeon and we have a feature film and a TV series on Prime Video. It’s safe to say that you’ll be alright with us!
Best,
Tharan

Tumblr media
name: Chloe Campbell (legal: Judith Malone) gender & pronouns: Cis Woman | She/Her age & date of birth: 26 years old | June 2nd, 1997 where do they live: Downtown time living in nashville: 26 years (on and off) occupation: Popstar, Former Actress
BACKGROUND.
TW: mentions of abuse, drug use.
Chloe Campbell doesn’t exist. At least, not in the way her PR has crafted – She’s an object, a paycheck, the shining jewel of Applause Entertainment Group. The blonde is made up of a carefully curated image, a charade peddled to the masses with the hopes she’ll bring home awards. Chloe was created — While the memoir of her life will paint a sunny picture of rags to riches for a loving family, and a young girl who worked hard to reach stardom, the truth isn’t quite as silver lined.
Starting in a small town north of Nashville, with a little girl named Judith. From the moment her mother first held her, she knew Judith was meant to be a star. She wouldn’t have it any other way. Before her daughter could even walk, Judith’s mother Marie was driving her daughter to Nashville each and every day for auditions. It began with commercials – Mostly Diapers and pull ups before eventually gaining a minute amount of recognition with a Superbowl commercial for Doritos. Judith managed to bring them a decent amount of income, one that managed to pay better than her mother’s shifts at the diner and make up for her father’s inability to hold a job for more than a few months. It’s clear, even as a young child, that Marie was right about her daughter – She’s full of life and smiles, able to capture the hearts of anyone (most importantly – casting directors) she meets.
When she lands a role on a network TV sitcom at the age of six, the Malone family’s life changes drastically. According to Alex is an overnight sensation, with the youngest cast member Chloe Campbell being the breakout star. Judith’s newly hired agent suggests the name change, that it’s far more eye-catching and memorable than her given name, Marie signs off on it. Judith doesn’t quite understand it – But it reminds her of Hannah Montana, so she goes along with it. Even as a child, Chloe becomes a mask. She’s an alter ego to be put on for the camera, but soon enough, Judith is thrown to the side and Chloe becomes all she knows. Her childhood is broadcast on television, growing up alongside the character she plays – It’s strange, but Chloe thrives on the attention, the love she receives for playing the lovable little sister on a prime time TV show.
As the money and fame begin to come in, taking the Malone – Campbell – family from their small double-wide to a large mansion in Nashville proper. No longer do her parents have to worry about how to keep the lights on or put food on the table, all thanks to their daughter. While she doesn’t fully grasp the severity of it as a child, it becomes more and more apparent to Chloe that her parent’s is no longer interested in her daughter – Only what kind of money she can bring in. It’s what leads her to constant dance classes, acting coaches, and singing lessons. At first, it’s fun – She enjoys every part of the craziness that is her childhood, especially when it garners her praise and approval when she succeeds.
By the time she’s 11, According to Alex has come to an end, but Chloe’s career is only beginning to take off. It becomes apparent that while her acting is passable, Chloe’s true talents lie in singing and dancing. This is showcased when she’s cast as the lead of a musical tv show called Shimmer! The show runs for five seasons, between Chloe filming multiple made-for-TV movies, making appearances and performing in front of moderately sized crowds with her fellow cast mates. Her life becomes constant motion, never left on her own for very long nor is she burdened with making many choices. Her mother-turned-momager, alongside her agent, controls every aspect of the pre-teens life – Her image is curated from beginning to end, painting her as America’s Sweetheart. It doesn’t matter if she’s being forced to dance until her feet bleed, or if she’s being denied dinner because her mother’s ‘concerned’ about her weight. Chloe gets no say. During the time Shimmer! is going, her life quickly takes a left turn – It’s stressful, but Chloe tries to take it in stride, convincing herself that the good outweighs the bad, considering she’s getting to do what she loves. So, she slaps on her signature smile and continues the charade while living under her mother’s thumb.
While Chloe had experienced a small amount of fame through her childhood, nothing can prepare her or her mother for what happens when she’s sixteen, and releases her debut album CHLOE. She’s regarded as the newest ‘Queen of Pop’, often described as the love child of Mariah Carey and Britney Spears. With her unmatched vocals, elaborate choreography and previous reputation – Chloe’s a sensation within a short few months, landing multiple Grammy’s within her debut, most notably being Artist of the Year at only 17 years old. This only serves as the kickstart to Chloe’s life for the next decade, her previously controlled and scheduled life amplified in a way that quickly becomes unmanageable. Each of her singles and albums are chart toppers, and her international tour sells out stadiums across the world. She’s regarded as a timeless talent and hard worker, often praised for her dedication to her craft and workload.
What isn’t broadcasted is the ugly truth behind the seemingly perfect girl her PR team has created. Within the first year of her music career, Chloe quickly becomes reliant on the ‘happy pills’ her mother provides, to keep her daughter moving and smiling. A steady combination of uppers and downers keep her able to somehow manage the constant travel and work, with blatant disregard for her well being. She’s nothing more than a golden ticket – As long as Chloe continues to make music and sell out shows, her mother sees no issue. This goes on for years, before she eventually reaches the inevitable.
The news breaks on TMZ, that Chloe Campbell has been hospitalized for ‘exhaustion’ after passing out in the middle of a concert in Los Angeles. It marks the beginning of a two year long hiatus, so that she can ‘focus on her mental health’, when truly her time is spent in rehab and trying to get out from under her mother’s thumb. She’s able to find a small modicum of freedom in firing her mother and agent, despite the way it destroys any form of relationship she had with her parents. Though social media claims they ‘parted ways professionally but their relationship has never been stronger’, the two haven’t spoken since. Over the last year, she’s spent her time trying to find who she is outside of what she’s pretended to be – While working on her return to the music industry, hopefully in a way that doesn’t require her sacrificing everything she has.
