Summary:

Despite portraying disapproval of the neck tattoo throughout the months, Seth refuses to discontinue his affection for Cody.

a/n: This is my first time writing a codyseth/sethcody fic that is pretty short and sweet. Btw it's all thanks to @harmshake due to her comment that made me want to write them.

Seth will have no choice but to face the music forever against the toughest opponent: the American Nightmare tattoo.

Numerous questions he inquired, wanting an answer while doing his damn best not to hurt Cody's feelings out of spite. This grinds Seth's gears daily— it's useless. Hurt, furious, upset? Unsure how the reaction would be.

To his surprise, Cody disregarded it. Understandable for being ecstatic over a tattoo to show off friends and colleagues. Yet a hint of rue will lurk if it's the right decision unless imprinted to the neck, where Seth reminded himself not to smooch.

Now in bed beside Cody, whose back turned in a slumber. Seth's gaze settled again with a frown. Weeks, months, years, had to accept forever throughout his lifetime, not a simple thing can vanish and solve quick problems. He wished it was so he wouldn't stare back and forth.

"Still staring?"

The gentle, sleepy voice sent shivers down his spine. He was supposed to sleep, must've triggered his consciousness. Hoping he was trapped in a fantasy, Seth peeked over Cody's shoulder; those blue eyes twinkled with amusement locked with his. That stupid smile never faltered.

Rolled to the side, met face to face. Affection blossomed between them. Cody's fingers fondle with Seth's hair, tucking one of the strands behind his ear. "I know what you're looking at," Cody said.

Seth feigned shock at the statement. "What are you talking about? I was admiring how pretty you are."

"Oh?" Cody's brows rose with curiosity. "What do you admire?"

"Simple. Your hair, your eyes that'll make me think two times great, your arms—" Seth paused, thoughtful for an instant, then continuing— "and that tattoo makes it two times worse. My god, what the hell were you thinking?!"

Cody snickered. "Really? Having a long-term feud against my tattoo? That's… that's unexpected."

"Unexpected?!" Seth's mouth dropped, using his elbows to sit up. "Having that big-sized tattoo where it should've gotten smaller! But no, every sentence has a 'trust me' and goes wrong at the end. Am I wrong?"

Stammering nonsense, words stuck in Cody's throat being voiceless. With a smug smirk, Seth knew he won the quick "argument" when Cody emitted a defeated sigh.

"Kinda, I guess," Cody responded.

Shook his head in denial, Seth refused to take a no for an answer. "Wrong answer. Say yes."

"Are you serious?"

"Say it."

"You're not going to make me."

What a tough guy to break. Seth leaned down, forehead pressed against his, a hand grasped the back of Cody's head. Breath mingled, their lips near as personal space broke between them. Didn't mention he was on the verge of smooching while assured not to.

"Admit right now or you won't get your favorite surprise," Seth murmured. "Don't want anything to go to dust, do we?"

Before Cody could respond, Seth's finger was placed on his lips, hushing the talk.

"Say yes, maybe we'll kiss."

Desperate to see forfeit, to hear forfeit in front of him. Seth's charm is unavoidable, a hard difficulty escaping the temptation. Harmless for Seth himself. Why fun even if he does create like a game of chess? Might've loved seeing behind the walls of Cody, his true self.

"Fine, fine, yes," he confessed. "It's too big, I got overconfident, and I should've listened to you. Happy now?"

"See? That wasn't so hard." Seth teased, grateful to hear what he wanted. Settled atop Cody's body, fingertips grazed to his cheek, the warmth tingled in his skin. "Anything else you want to say?"

"Actually," Cody pondered, "I do."

Seth's head jerked up, halting his actions.

"Even though the tattoo on my neck stays for the rest of my life, you're irreplaceable. No one and I mean no one, will ever force me to break away from you." Cody looked into Seth's eyes filled with honesty. "I mean it. Not joking."

Seth's heart swelled with awestruck by the compassionate care. No lie surfaced or any mischievous traces. Poetic some say including himself, while it'll find ways to sweep off feet from the ground onto cloud nine in different love languages. Some of their moments were mistakes, though they never left the beauty of success.

He captured Cody's lips. Tender yet quick, Cody's eyes blazed with bewilderment, then joy, shutting his eyes. Their chests pressed together, hearts palpitating into one as their bodies buzzed in excitement until Seth pulled away. Both open their eyes, exchanging grins.

An idea came to mind. Seth's grin grew wider.

"Come on, turn over. Need to kiss your neck." He told him, turning Cody over to the side. His face buried, nuzzling where the ink stamped on the curve of Cody's neck is placed.

"But you said you don't like it," Cody recalled.

Seth rolled his eyes with a small snicker. "For purposes only. I still hate it."

His lips caressed, showering delicate kisses as received a relaxed sigh. Supposed to give love to Cody, instead, the tattoo is given the same treatment. It would've been funny if Seth did or didn't.

Either way, he never threw away his heart for Cody.

I fucking love Total Drama!! I firmly believe Leshawna should've won the first season. I'll try to add my least favorite characters from World Tour to avoid being biased.

Warnings: Chris McLean, Sierra's stalker behavior, attempted manipulation from Alejandro, Duncan being kind of an ass, does Cody being a crybaby count? I'm making it count.

"Alright contestants I have another surprise for you." Chris looked at the tired teens. From behind Chef came another teen. They smiled and waved to the other teens.

"Another contestant?" A few questioned simultaneously.

"Oh hell no. Their mother would kill me." Chris slung his arm around them and tugged them close. "This here is -Y/N- McLean, my nibling."

"Heya," their smile got bigger "I hope we can get along."

Everyone was too shocked to speak for a moment. Sierra was trying so hard not to flip her shit. Chris McLean's nibling was actually in front of her.

"So you're related to Chris?" Harold finally asked.

"Yeah. My mom is his sister." -Y/N- answered truthfully.

"Think of -Y/N- as a co-host. Another Chris of sorts." The older man smirked. "They'll keep an eye on you famous wannabes while I can't."

First of all we'll get the obvious out of the way, the cast fucking love you, after getting to know you. Obviously at first learning you're related to the devil host, Chris McLean, they immediately thought this season would be twice as torturous. But give them a couple of days or weeks and most of them would willingly jump from the plane for you. The others may take some time.

I'll start with the ones that take no time in becoming your fans:

Cody: for him the moment he saw you give a genuine smile was when he trusted you. Having dealt with Chris's shit for so long made him aware of a real and fake smile. Also when you demand Sierra leave him alone? Oh yeah he likes you even more now. Expect a lot of clinging, as much as he can, crying for one reason or another mostly Sierra and excessive praise for the small things.

Lindsay: my sweetheart, so pretty so.....not traditionally smart. She saw you looking super nice in your outfit and that was it. Anyone with fashion choices as good as yours are definitely trustworthy. Please become shopping buddies after the show is over.

Owen: this big lug. He really tries to see the good in everyone. More often than not he's wrong. But he's genuinely happy he's right about you.

Sierra: she knew about you before anyone else. Obviously she's going to trust you from the get go. You're related to THE Chris McLean. That trust may or may not waver...TBD. Either way watch yourself around her. Keep a close eye on your belongings.

The neutral ones who need a bit more time are:

Noah: he just doesn't trust easily. Take no offense to it. I think only Owen was lucky enough, being an actual giant ball of sunshine and stupidity. Perhaps if you sneak him some Noah-Safe food he'll trust you faster.

Gwen: poor girl has been scorned by the world so often. It's left her with a few trust issues. Maybe stick up for her and watch some good horror movies together. Reassurance is the key, she was painted as a bad guy from the beginning. Let her know she's more than that and it's okay to admit she did wrong. Help her move past that.

Leshawna: this bad bitch (lovingly) knows her worth. She wants to make sure others know it as well. Don't talk down to her and hype up her plans and ideas and she'll consider you worth her time and respect. Also keep Alejandro away from her. Please. My queen deserves better.

DJ: he's a softie and a Mama's boy. He does want to trust you. But after his failed restaurant with his Mama it might take some time. People in power never helped him or his Mama. In fact he wonders if they were sabotaged. Help him find ways to "reverse his curse" and he'll definitely trust you, also maybe offer his Mama a job as a chef, especially if it's a higher position in a private kitchen.

The ones who just straight up dislike you and take a long time to like you are:

Alejandro: his family caused him so much trauma. He doesn't trust ANYONE. He may act like it, nodding to your advice and being nice. But alas tis all a front. He's really just waiting for the perfect moment to betray you. When that time comes and goes and you're still nice to him? Yeah....you may have started chipping away at his walls.

Heather: the queen bee. The head of every group project. Highschool taught her to look out for herself. So did the first two seasons of Total Drama. She'll bitch at you and talk shit about you "behind" your back. Just brush it off and continue being nice and you'll win her over, eventually.

Courtney: the Type A Psychotic Crazies and debate team caused Courtney to believe only Courtney can help Courtney. She'll refuse to trust you and judges those who do. In fact it's not until she's kicked off will she finally trust you. Maybe meet up after the show and talk to her, she'll apologize to you and own up to her wrongdoings.

Duncan: the runaway delinquent. The hardass he is doesn't trust you, purely because of your last name. Chris ruined his life, more than he himself could have. Being stalked no matter where he went for 2 years put him on edge. Abolish Chris's stupid "must always sing" rule and his opinion on you might change.

Your Mom and Other family supported you and your passion deeply, your grandma even supported you. So for her 79th birthday you wanted to let her in the ring, to sing happy birthday.

So you sang happy birthday, and you made your grandma's day.. you felt so accomplished making her smile..

But suddenly she snatched your microphone, on live tv...

"You know Y/N, I know you're very busy in life. But have you confessed your feelings to that boy you like yet?" The sweet old lady asked

Your face was beet red, you felt so embarrassed at what your grandma started talking about

You sighed and took back the microphone.

"No, Grandma.. It's too complicated to talk about here. I'll tell you about it later." You Said

"What was that boys name again? I think it was Cody something...." your grandma spoke into the Mic.

You went as red as a tomato.. blush and warmth spread across your cheeks..

"That's not true!" You lied

Your grandma instantly proved you wrong.

You were so embarrassed after your segment. Your mom was on the road with your grandma already and you sat in your locker room in embarrassment.

"Why Did my grandma have to say that on live TV?" You questioned the air around you.

You remember the cheers from the crowd, and them saying "Cody! CODY!". You physically couldn't face anyone else on the roster right now.

Suddenly you heard a knock at the door.

"Go away Chuck." You said, thinking the person at the door was your brother.

"It's not Chuck... It's Cody..." Cody said

"What do you what?" You said

"Can.. I... Come in?" Cody asked

"Go ahead. I'm sure my night can't get worse." You sighed.

Cody swiftly opened the door and walked into your locker room, sitting across from you on the other side of the room.

You quickly wiped away any stray tears that may have been on your face..

"What do you want? Why did you come to talk?" You spoke.

"Listen, Y/N... I saw what happened earlier tonight.. between you & your grandma.."

"Yes, And?"

"I should've told you sooner, but I feel the same way towards you... I probably turned red when your grandma revealed that-"

You and Cody went back and forth and Cody confessed... you looked in shock... like a deer in headlights...

Suddenly you both locked eyes with each other... Cody was about to speak but you kissed him. You both broke the kiss after a few moments and you ended up in a bear hug....

That night, you'd felt like you went through multiple stages of grief somehow-...

But you didn't care, you sorta won over your crush...

But Still, the next day you asked Cody if he'd edit the confession clip out of that dynamite replay.

okay so. here's my thoughts on mania night 1! (I completely forgot to live blog bc I was live tweeting lol but take this) SPOILERS, OBVIOUSLY

rhea v becky: really really good! I loved all the counters they had for each other's moves and they both looked absolutely fantastic. I think this will really be a new era for beckys character after her loss and I'm excited! very happy for rhea too!!! her entrance was fucking sick

tag title ladder match: pretty cool spots! I love a-town down under but I didn't really think they should've won, I would prefer if they turned on each other and had a match at payback, but overall good for them! and wow I can't believe rtruth won the raw tag titles by himself! incredible! fr very glad they finally split the titles and truth got his mania moment, but overall I think that match was lacking something but I'm not sure what.

rey + andrade v santos + dom: very veryyyy good match. I absolutely love lucha wrestling and I love rey winning even more!! andrade is insane also. also think the football cameos was a fun little touch. very nice

jimmy v jey: I actually really really liked it, I know controversial. It may just be because I care about the both of them so much but I thought it was nice. I think it wouldve been better if they could go longer. also thier match was never gonna be anything revolutionary, thier rivalry is about fucking story. they are storytellers. I thought it was awesome and I'm glad they got thier mania match they've always wanted and it genuinely upsets me ppl r being so mean abt it.

bianca + naomi + jade v damage ctrl: when bianca came in I feel like it rlly picked up for me. she was killing them bro. but seriously, they all did so good and it's so awesome three strong, beautiful, and powerful black women got to do that, and got to win. I also absolutely loved asukas face paint. that's my wife guys... all of them looked so very good and they killed it. I loved it so much.

sami v gunther: if I'm being completely honest with u all, my favorite match of the night. I genuinely cried and started shaking when sami won because I really didn't think he would! like I'm so so very happy he won I'm so so very proud of him and just. wow. wow wow wow. and thank you gunther for the greatest intercontinental championship reign of all time, god bless u and I know he's gonna move on to do even bigger things.

cody + seth v rock + roman: well. I knew rock and roman would win, because of all the rumblings of people needing to help cody tommrow. It just made sense, and it's obvious they want cody winning and roman losing to be the biggest deal absolutely possible. and they should! it's going to be great! that doesn't mean it still doesn't upset me that cody and seth lost :/ . I know seth is probably losing tommrow as well and that just makes me sad. he's so great and he did fantastic in that match. as did cody. as did roman. and the rock, well. he was there! that's for sure! I did think that match was better than I thought it would be but yeah. so glad seth got his main event and he really showed out.

I hate the FUCK out of C*dy and everything anti-Sierra. People tell me my hatred is unhealthy but I don't give a fuck. Whenever I hear someone say exsqueeze me or something else like that and they pronounce it in a dumb nerd voice like they're trying to sound cute, I just want to clock them in the fucking face. I hate how everyone loves that incel and his stupid fucking spoon looking ass. There are thousands, probably millions of twinks around the world, why not go kiss one of them? Stupid fucks. Also, I don't give a fuck that he was sooo sad on WT or that he stopped going on after that. Billions of dollars would've been donated to that stupid shit afterwards when that money could have been spent to clean up the oceans (THAT WERE POLLUTED BY THE CANADIANS). Granted, I don't really give a fuck about the Canadian ocean either but at least donating that money to the ocean is more productive than donating it to a fucking incel twink boy. If given the option of burning Cody alive and curing cancer, I'd gladly opt for the former and never experience one iota of regret or guilt. People care more about Cody than the environment, and it may come back to haunt them. Also, FUCK the mere IDEA that Cody should've or would've won WT. FUCK HIM! Sierra deserved to win WT a billion times more than that stupid delusional babyman. When Sierra got eliminated for being a sweet angel, I went into shock (not an exaggeration) and I will never forgive Chris for that. Whenever something bad happened to Cody I couldn't help but be happy. Am I a coocoobonkers? Maybe. I don't know. But I can't bring myself to feel any sympathy for the twink that ruined my life.

59th Annual Academy Of Country Music Awards (2024)

So today on the MSR (Midnight Star Review), I would like to talk about the 59th Annual Academy Of Country Music Awards hosted by Reba McEntire. The show streamed on Prime Video by Amazon on Thursday May 16th, 2024 at 8pm EST (Eastern Standard Time) and the red carpet special an hour earlier at 7pm. And up first we will talk about who won what and as usual who should have won according to the stats from the MSR (Midnight Star Report) which is my weekly list.

Awards (Who won and who should have won) New ACM Male Vocalist of the year goes to Nate Smith (Looking at the choices, I would say this is the correct pick). Visual Media of the year goes to Parker McCollum - Burn it down (Some tough choices could have gone to Cody Johnson or Jordan Davis). ACM New Duo of the year goes to Tigerlily Gold (Not a lot of choices here but maybe Restless Road). ACM New Female of the year goes to Megan Moroney (She was the only choice with any chart success really except Ashley Cooke). Song of the year goes to Jordan Davis - Next thing you know (This could have gone to Cody or Luke as well). Duo of the year goes to Dan + Shay (They are the only ones to have any chart success this year out of these selections). Group of the year goes to Old Dominion (The only one who had any chart success out of the selections). Single of the year goes to Luke Combs - Fast Car (This could have gone to Morgan Wallen as well). Male Artist of the year goes to Chris Stapleton (This could have gone to any of the artists). Female Artist of the year goes to Lainey Wilson (She had more chart success than the rest of the selections). Music Event of the year goes to Jelly Roll & Lainey Wilson - Save me (This song had the most success of all the selections). Album of the year goes to Chris Stapleton (This had good choices for album of the year, which could have gone to anyone). Artist-Songwriter of the year goes to Chris Stapleton as well. Entertainer of the year goes to Lainey Wilson (This one should have gone to Luke or Morgan).

And that's a wrap for the awards, now let's talk about the performances from the night.

Performances (Who played and what they played for us). Megan Moroney - Tennessee orange (Pre-show). Lainey Wilson - God bless Texas (Little Texas tribute). Lainey Wilson - Hang tight honey. Jelly Roll - Liar. Kelsea Ballerini with Noah Kahan - Mountain with a view/ Stick season. Tigerlily Gold - I tried a ring on. Cody Johnson - Dirt cheap (Performance of the night). Miranda Lambert - Wranglers. Kane Brown - Georgia's always on my mind. Thomas Rhett - Beautiful as you. Gwen Stefani & Blake Shelton - Purple Irises. Jason Aldean - Should've been a cowboy (Tribute to Toby Keith). Chris Stapleton with Dua Lipa - Think I'm in love with you. Post Malone - Never love you again -> I had some help. Reba McEntire & Post Malone - Ramblin' man (Allman Brothers tribute). Parker McCollum - Burn it down. Nate Smith & Avril Lavigne - Bulletproof. Reba McEntire - I can't.

And that's a wrap for the performances with Cody Johnson in my opinion having the best performance of the night. And on the MSR (Midnight Star Review), I would give this show a 3.5 out of 5 stars. It had some shocking moments and some choices were just too easy to pick. Jordan winning an ACM was awesome. And Reba did host for the 17th time overall. Bob: Mario and Tari would always insist "no no no, we have to get her stuff she'll actually enjoy" and this is frankly humiliating for them. She just discovered the max suction setting and she's happier than she was when she won Splatfest.

(I figure that even though they still hate Duck, Database does at least now understand how important his role is, and that driving him to temporarily quit and permanently go into hiding was a mistake. They'll never admit it out loud, but still)

Here is my personal ranking of all the seasons:

Total Drama All Stars. Best season. Great concept, with it being an all star season. Great cast, with Sam being one of my favorites that season. Gave us Mal, my favorite antagonist. Everyone that season had amazing writing.

Total Drama Pahkitew Island. Loved the new cast, with Leonard being my person favorite. Skave is also one of my favorite ships, and Scax isn't too far behind from them. I love the new Island, and every character felt perfect.

Total Drama Action. Beth is my favorite finalist, and I believe she deserved her win. Also, Duncney and Gidgette in this season are amazing. Plus, Heather gets voted out early, and she is one of my least favorite characters. Very happy that happened.

The Ridonculous Race. It gave us Nemma, ending the argument that was Noah's sexuality, proving once and for all that he is straight. Plus, it gave my favorite, my most yaoitastic ship of all time: Gerry x Pete. I was very upset that they were an early boot. I was even more upset when Leonard was an early boot. It also gave us the Haters/Daters, a great couple to come out from the season. As well as the best friends. I loved the entire "Will they, won't they" story they had going. It did not get annoying att all. The thing the brings this season down though is the fact that Don is the host. He is not as good as Chris.

Total Drama 2023. New cast. It did give me some new favorites, such as Chase Ripper, Chemma, and Chipper. I do wish we got Rayne instead of Rajbow, and I hope we get a raynebow love triangle next season, as those are always my favorite. I also hope Julia goes bald next season, to match the other seasons with the theme. My favorite episode was epsiode 5, as fart jokes are very funny.

Total Drama World Tour. If I could make it lower, I would. The only saving grace of this season was Gwuncan becoming canon. Aleheather is my least favorite couple from the entire season. They are poorly written, bad at romance, and neither of them deserved their spot in the final 2. Cody and Duncan should've been the final 2, giving us a great yaoi-off to end a horrible season.

Total Drama Revenge of the Island. 2 words: New cast. From the very start, I was not interested in the new cast. All though some of them looked interesting, they got an early boot. I wish Staci made the finale, the finale that was got was one of the worst ones out there. Scott is the worst villain. They should've put more emphasis on the toxic waste. I will give props to the Dakota plot line though. My favorite from the season.

Total Drama Island. Horrible. What a horrible way to introduce a new IP. The characters were at their absolute worst this season. I don't care about the camp vibe. It's boring. It's bad. Ezekiel should not have gotten voted out episode 1. He should have won. It's just. Boring.

I feel like after Cody won they should've put like a montage of Cody's career in WWE to show how far along he has come and then like a mini tribute to his dad. Missed opportunity to me

I think the pre-match Montage kind of showcased Cody's story pretty well. Maybe they thought by doing it afterwards, it felt like overkill? It wouldn't have been, but I assume that's the thought. Right as he's handed the belt, he's on his knees looking at it just when his music said "my father" - that part got me. Us kids who lost their dads young, know what those moments can feel like. Like we KNOW Dusty is proud, but your inner kid just wants so badly for your dad to be there and you get to hear that "I'm Proud of You". Nothing hits like that. The only issue I'd see with a Dusty tribute is that it might overshadow Cody's accomplishment? Like of course he wouldn't be there without Dusty, but Cody needs to form his own identity or it'll always be Dusty's son, the world champ instead of Cody, the world champ. Finding your own identity in the shadow that large and looming can be tough and doesn't diminish Dusty by Cody finding his own voice.

I bet we'll see a tribute to Dusty pretty soon though after Cody has his moment.

I mean I understand completely, Cody is a putz and his neck tattoo, but no said real motive Brock has given since the feud began since the Raw after Wrestlemania, no big stipulation for the blowoff feud and it ends in a handshake. listen i get why roman is main eventing wm, he's the biggest champion rn and he's the top guy. i don't like that he's as part time as he is, but he has deserved it and he's still got health issues.

okay okay I have some thoughts about the whole bloodline story rn and I just want to rant somewhere!

I feel like Roman vs Sami at elimination chamber should've been for one title, and Sami should've won it. This would've been a real "oh shit" moment bc everyone would be happy as fuck for Sami but now truly realizing how Roman's time as champ is coming to an end. (It seems like they're gonna have Roman drop the titles to Cody at Mania). We've seen the cracks in the Bloodline, we know the end is near, but Sami winning one of titles would've reallllyy hit it home, ESPECIALLY with that Jey moment!

Now, me personally, I wouldn't have Roman vs Cody at Mania. Sorry, but I'm just not that interested yet. I understand why it's happening and I'm sure it'll be good a match but Roman vs Seth WAS RIGHT THERE!!! Storyline wise, it would've been dope to see Seth win over Roman. Seth broke up The Shield by hitting Roman first with the chair (similar to Sami at the Royal Rumble), which I feel has been alluded as part of the reason Roman is so paranoid about ppl turning on him. Seth ending Roman (again) and the Bloodline would've been dope in my eyes. They also have this whole 'Roman has never pinned Seth' so we need them to run it back one more time! and Seth finally gets his mania moment hello.

OR, since Roman vs Cody is really what they want, they could've still had that with Sami winning one belt at EC (no I have no clue who he would've faced at Wrestlemania lol).

Roman vs Jey at Summerslam!!!! I feel like Jey as champ isn't where this is heading or where it'd end up (Main Event Jey Uso do need to come back and be champ once tho), so Jey vs Roman at Summerslam with Jey winning would put an end to the whole bloodline story. Jey gets to finally win over Roman. I feel like Jey vs Roman is coming eventually tho soooo.

For the men's Money in the Bank match, I already knew lol. Drew winning the briefcase proves he's trying to get the World Heavyweight Championship from Damian. Should've been Jey, but oh well, already know how the internet's gonna be if he won the briefcase.

With the Seth vs Damian match, it's a bit messy. The referee count early, Damian didn't kick out, Drew running in late (I think) to cash in. Then Punk came in and interfering to stop Drew like this:

The women's Money in the Bank match. It should've been Naomi or Chelsea.
