#cm faves: boxed in

I've been weaving on my new Ashford Katie loom, Babygirl, just playing around with a bunch of different patterns (2/2 twill is my fave), and it's so cool!

The Katie is a super nice loom, compact, beautiful, and really nice to weave on, but there's one massive issue: height.

I was stoked to finally get to use my super snazzy fold-out table, but it's 75cm tall. The front of the loom is about 20cm tall. That puts my hands WAY too high to weave without a ton of ouch. Even grabbing my office chair and cranking it as high as it goes, it's not doable.

It's not just a Katie problem; it'd be an issue with any table loom. I'm so used to my rigid heddle on it's perfect-height stand I just didn't think about it. Luckily, because of the way the Katie is constructed I can wiggle it forward and drop the front legs off the edge, but it mucks up the weaving a tad. So another solution must be found.

Thankfully I've been able to source a desk/table thing that's only 65 cm tall, but man I'm really feeling for the short people right about now, given how hard it was to find.

With the bad news, however, comes the good. I'm about to come into possession of an Ashford four shaft table loom. Second hand, through a friend of a work friend, but it's apparently still in its box sitting in their garage. No clue how big it is, but they only wanted a hundred bucks for it, so I did not ask any questions beyond cash or bank transfer and when can we come pick it up. Exciting!

Introverted | Temperamental | Stubborn | Agressive | Kind | Caring

Misaki is a young woman with a fiery personality, she has little patience for stupidity. She is a hard worker, and likes to put effort into what she likes. She is also stubborn when it comes to opinions if it is not her way she will not do it, she tends to violence when someone bothers her. Her pride is something precious to her.

Despite this, when she gets upset she needs her time to calm down and then apologize. Even so, Misaki is a girl who cares about others, her way of showing her appreciation is through actions, especially cooking.

Socially inept, having lived surrounded by “nations” Misaki behaves awkwardly with other humans, for some reason she always feels distant and finds it difficult to understand them.

Having grown up with nations, Misaki did not develop “parental affection” or someone to consult her problems with, because she considered that Japan would not fully understand her.

He usually feels a constant feeling of loneliness, his heart is a hard shell that makes it difficult for him to let in emotions like love.

| BACKGROUND (Hetalia AU)

In this AU, Misaki was raised by Japan who took care over her as she was abandonated. Her childhood was kinda chaotic, surrounded by nations of course she didn't grow like other kids, she felt distanced.

Japan tried his best to give her a normal life, of course he wasn't used to raise a kid. Misaki always wondered why did he took her? He felt lonely? She would never know.

She always had a sense of loneliness, a feeling of she doesn't belong where she is. Mother? Father? What's that, she only had "weird uncles"

Misaki was very problematic at school, her classmates teased her a lot and she answered back with violence.

Through her adolescence, she kinda developed a crush on Yao, and she was rejected, of course, the man only saw her as a little sister.

Time heals, she tried to moved on. On Uni, she meet a guy named Kazuo, they clicked and became a couple, Misaki thought that finally had someone who cared for her deeply, but no. The guy cheated on her. That was the point that made her close herself.

-> She lives alone in an old traditional house that Japan left for her, she works as botanic in a national park in Kyoto.

She LOVES gardering and plants. She has a traditional garden on her house and it's her first priority.

She's very good at cooking, Japan and China taught her very well.

Also Romano as shared with her some italian recipes so she could "learn something good"

Her way to show love is giving you food.

Her dream is to open her own restaurant.

One of her interests are kimonos, she likes to make her own

Favorite station is autumn, she loves when trees go orange.

Loves cats, and bunnies, loves cute things.

She likes minimalist clothing, plain clothes or stripped patterns

Her face may look annoyed but she's kind, and gets along better with girls.

She has been mistaken for a minor

Does she feel something for Alfred?? who knows.

She's just afraid to someone break into her heart and get too attatched.

Luther:

Probably fits the bill of a Disney adult the most.

Wears those cheesy “family trip!” shirts, Mickey ears, the whole nine yards.

Tries to get the rest of the family to wear matching shirts- it does not go well.

Freaks out on Tower of Terror but ends up loving it.

Dad jokes at any given opportunity

He gets mistaken for Beast at some point during the trip. He’s not mad about it.

Full on sobs at Happily Ever After

Favorite ride is Mission Space or Cosmic Rewind and he loves the Mickey Pretzels.

Diego:

Trash talks the others before heading into Space Ranger Spin and Toy Story Mania- he loses to Allison and Claire both times. He’s very bitter about it.

However, he is very good at gunner on Smuggler’s Run. Actually, he just loves Galaxy’s Edge as a whole, mainly for the costumes.

Loves the fast paced coasters- Tron, Cosmic, Everest, Rockin Roller (has a special love for Slinky Dog but he’ll never admit it.)

Uses his powers to win a toy for Lila at the Dinorama carnival.

He and Ben team up to secretly book Five an appointment at the Bippity Boppity Boutique.

Favorite ride is Tron and favorite snack is the spiced corn from Harambe.

Allison:

TIANA AND NAVEEN DISNEYBOUND WITH RAY!!!

Claire dresses up as either Lottie or Moana

They just geek out at Tiana’s Bayou Adventure as a whole tbh. They never want to leave

Free lightning lanes all day with this girl!

The photo op QUEEN. Makes everyone stop for a photo in front of the castle and it actually turns out really cute

Loves the Festival of Fantasy parade (and secretly dreams of young Allison who wanted to be a princess too)

Aside from Tiana’s, loves going on the teacups with Claire and Klaus and just Hollywood studios in general

Fave ride is Tiana’s and fave snack is cotton candy :)

Klaus:

A little overwhelmed at first, but manages to settle in and have fun

Shares his journey of sobriety with a CM who makes him a celebratory badge for it, he wears it and is congratulated by dozens of people which makes him quite emotional

Gets really into pin trading with Claire (blind boxes are his specialty. He has a knack for guessing what pin he’s going to get)

Not a fan of most of the rides but he does like the Peoplemover and Kilimanjaro safaris, and the Pandora rides

Does love meeting characters though, especially the ones that will talk with him :)

Content to spend most of his time pin trading and relaxing in the quieter parts of the park (he loves Animal Kingdom)

Constantly talks about how much of an entertainment masterpiece Fantasmic is (because it is!!!!)

Fave ride is Flight of Passage and fave snack is the churros from Nomad Lounge. iykyk

Five:

The poor victim of a prince makeover via Diego and Ben

Surprisingly, besides the ton of pixie dust, he doesn’t hate it. He chooses Prince Philip

Is understandably upset when they won’t let him drink around the world (Allison and Ben help with this, and he does complete his goal)

Loves the classic rides/shows like Pirates, Tiki Room, Carousel of Progress and the Jungle Cruise (the skipper told a really old joke that only he understood)

Loves learning history and facts about the parks from CMs. Is the master of the Cast Compliment

Judges Luther for crying at Happily Ever After (but loves the show on the inside)

Fave ride is Carousel of Progress and fave snack is anything from Les Halles in France.

Ben:

Wears his jacket to the parks and complains about the heat literally all the time

Total coaster junkie like Diego- they end up on a lot of the rides together.

Is the first one awake in the morning and the one to yell at them all to get moving

Handles the dining reservations because he “doesn’t trust them to pick somewhere good”

he accidentally books a restaurant in the wrong park

loves to make universal jokes

also has definitely asked a CM where Cinderella’s castle is (while standing in magic kingdom)

Fave ride is Everest and fave snack is the pizza spring rolls outside Adventureland.

Viktor:

The mediator, of course

Brings cute handmade presents for the CMs

Prefers the chill boat rides over the intense ones (Tiana’s, Pirates, Navi, Jungle, Frozen, Gran Fiesta)

wears a family trip shirt to match Luther <3

Has a special love for the Philharmagic and Muppetvision shows

Loves the entertainment. Will sit and watch the castle stage show all day if he could.

If you want a light-hearted polyamorous rom-com AU, this is the series for you! Reading Part 3 instantly inspired me to start Part 1 over again. I'll never get tired of this series.

Why I Love It: As soon as I heard 'Emily as a Sugar Mama' I was intrigued. The set-up in this first chapter is already amazing and I am highly looking forward to reading more. I never thought I'd be reading reader insert fics and I definitely never thought I'd be hyped about a reader series, but Katt single-handedly changed my mind and all my preconceived notions. Are you named after anyone? I think my mom because it's her middle name but my name is super common in my region so I could have been named after the lady selling oranges on the street when my mom was having a craving, who knows?

 When was the last time you cried? Maybe this morning. Too often to track. Show me a video of a child finally getting adopted or a family member surprising someone they haven't seen in ages and I'm a mess.

Do you have kids?  No, I like being the fun aunt.

Do you use sarcasm a lot? Yeeesss! And it's a problem. Trust issues/emotional deflection, etc.

What sports do you play/have you played? Boxing is a sport, right? It's in the Olympics so yes. I love boxing! I feel so strong and powerful when I do it. Mind you, if were ever in a real fight, I'd probably throw a suckerpunch and run for my life.

What’s the first thing you notice about other people? I think their teeth or their hair? I'll have to check next time

Scary movies or happy endings? Happy endings? I don't have the stomach for horror.

First of all, I’m in the process of looking up which books from his bibliography are translated so I can give you « Leuwers’ intro to frev faves » lol

About him : he is the grandpa-iest grandpa looking man you will ever see. I say this with the utmost affection but he’s like a little kitten in a cardboard box with a little bow around his neck playing in the yarn. Zero authority, only vibes. Also you can tell. SO BAD. that Robespierre is his blorbo. He can talk about anything and then somehow end up talking about Robespierre, it’s so funny. You said chill vibes and yeah, it’s kinda like that, but in even more mellow (like his grading, thank the go- wait, thank the Supreme Being). Also I’m very thankful for your frev posting because it prompted me to search him on Google and I discovered a CAPITAL information thanks to you (we have the same birthday, Valentine’s Day).

Which is very funny because his TD prof, Brassart, is the complete opposite. (idk if you know but just in case : in french unis, classes are divided between CM (magistral classes) during which the teacher just talks and TD (directed work) during which the teacher helps the class do a hands-on assignment (in history it’s usually critiquing a document, or doing a presentation)) The guy is very funny, very quick and his classes are kinda like going to the theatre as he has a lot more « stage presence » yknow. Also he can digress/has knowledge on basically any topic you can think of. He ended up talking about Japanese temples and mushroom foraging the other day ??? I know a whole bunch of people that take his classes just for him (I plead guilty of that one lol). He can definitely lack tact sometimes but he’s very nice and you actually don’t notice his class is almost over until it is, which has put him in a lot of Lille history students top 5 teachers.

39. what is your best wrestling related memory? can i name three? cause i think i have three lol 1. when i introduced this interest to my wife like last year. im very selfconcious when it comes to telling ppl about my interests that are kinda out there, cause ive been dealing with a lot of shit that comes with it for a loooong time tbh, but its a huge part of me and shes my best irl friend and i was like. im gonna do it she can judge me all she wants. and she got SO into it and was super excited that i shared this with her and we watched a whole lot of stuff that weekend and everything was super great. god i love her

2. my first ever live show. so wwe took like a ten year break between coming to finland, and then they decided to show up again in 2019. now me and my brother are both adults compared to the last time they were here, we were both making our own income and were like FUCK IT LETS GO. and thus we ended up in our first ever live show. i still fucking tear up thinking that oh my god i saw all these peeps live. i was one of the few people (there was like. four of us, me and my brother and some kiddos across the arena) chanting 'sami zayn sucks' which is still one of my fondest memories ngl LOL. such an emotional and amazing night, would do again in a heartbeat and i dont even watch this company anymore lol

and 3. those two nights we watched battle in the valley with @ss-trashboat (feels high key weird to tag you in this since you asked this LOL). the first night the whole karl thing happened and i fucking lost my mind, you literally heard me cry on voice. and the second night just. as a whole. seeing buddy again after months since his release, you freaking out over will, just juice, both of us losing it over jay. and being sleep deprived to hell and back on both nights cause lol timezones and just man. i love wrestling and i love you so much this whole thing honestly meant so much to me im ah <33

FAVE INSTRUMENT: hmm, am always very sensitive to piano and string instruments, but this year i discovered the armenian duduk which is just. breathtaking. also i love bagpipes (tbh there are so many instruments to like)

RANDOM: last night i dreamt that i was trying to fit boxes in my brain similiar to korean chaekgeori paintings and that i had a small horse as a pet in my room. later in that dream something hacked into my computer which resulted in cryptic messages appearing on my bedroom walls and my flatmate helped me solve the virus or whatever it was; but we could not finish cause something happened in town with demon-like beings appearing (???) and i just remember being surrounded by destruction and acid-like liquid and everything was melting black and red. i don’t know either help me
