you know something no one ever talks about is the fact that jessica may have kids of her own??
in 5x10 there’s that mention jack’s with his cousins — they can’t be sean’s — aaron’s only sibling. it was never mentioned haley had any other siblings rather than jessica, so any cousins would most likely be her children. unless it’s like his second or third cousins or whatnot.
but regardless i love the fact that this means whenever jack is with her, more often than not, he’s also with his cousins 🥹

twst oc
yes it is i, i have decided i wanted to make a twisted wonderland oc
Here is the beautiful boy in all his colorless glory (i got lazy and if u think the hair looks strange i changed brushes when drawing the hair and got too tired to make it bolder it 😭😭)
Tumblr media
And here is his uhh idk reference sheet ig? Not rly but ehh
Tumblr media
character: Jol seemed like the quiet type, and that was... not really true? It wasn't wrong, yet it wasn't right either. Actually, he had quite a lot of friends (whom he considers as only acquaintances, with this statement usually false for the other party) and was rather friendly despite his lack of ever smiling. He's a good listener, a good friend too. He tries his best, though often times he would always undervalue his own efforts, an unreliable narrator of his own story.
Name: Jol Ninvale (pronounced Jol Nin-veil)
Dorm: savanaclaw
Class: 3-D, second year
Birthday: July 1st (7/1)
Age: 18
Height: 176 cm (5'9") with his ears (doubt that adds much but i'll just put it there anyway lmao) and without his rollerskates
Dominant hand: right
Homeland: shaftlands
Fav subject: visual arts
Best subject: track & field and potions
Club: gargoyle research society
Hobby: watching the world pass him by, roller skating, gaming
Likes: games especially virtual ones, roller skating, food, bells, etc..
Dislikes: the yellow part of a boiled egg, pain, watching his friends in pain, group projects, pears
Habit: going into places where he probably shouldn't be in because of his Unique Magic and not realizing it
Talent: skating and having really good balance
Flaw: exchanged strength for speed so he's not that strong, doesn't look friendly, undervalues himself
Unique magic: Reawakening reality
Allows him to fast travel to somewhere. It is not teleportation, but with untrained eyes it does look like it
Chant and visual: His ability is called "reawakening past" and his chant would be like smth like "fall through the current past, don't lose yourself in the endless future. Reawakening reality." And when he activates it time would slow and he would fall through the floor like this
Tumblr media
So the red line is the floor and when he activates his unique magic it would sorta different dimension under idk how to explain it but under there is like a purple grey version of the world upstairs but theres nothing and its like a sea ig
The blue line represents that he can still see the above and can see where he's going
Its basically fast travel yk bc the space time there is a lot faster
Also he can drag others with him into the "dimension" but he cant keep them there for long bc they cant breathe in there, only he can
time speeds up unusually down there so for the people who got dragged with him they see a faint image of the world downstairs but then they're at their location, its like teleportation and they just run out of breath a little
Oh yeah i chose fast travel instead of actual teleportation bc thats just cooler and makes more sense than just popping in and out of existence without any explanation
And i chose fast travel cuz the oc's a cheetah beastmen and cheetah's are known for being speeeeedddyyyyyy
So yeah :3
further elaboration:
Tumblr media
The red is the floor and the blue is the part of the floor that would let him fall through like theres nothing there even tho he can see still that the floor's there
So if he was like in an animation it wouldn't be him changing but it would the background, like idk its those pov changing roblox games yk pls get it 😭😭😭
Anyways i also made a meme about his UM in a nutshell
Tumblr media
Beautiful 🥰
Funfact: he has a bell on his foot
Tumblr media
jingle jingle
Tumblr media
Special mention from the Colorless art: he's so cute right guys
another funfact: his wheels are retractable

AN EGYPTIAN BRONZE OSIRIS
THIRD INTERMEDIATE PERIOD TO LATE PERIOD, CIRCA 1069-525 B.C.
6 1⁄2 in. (16.5 cm.) high.
Hollow cast around a now-missing core, this Osiris belongs to a group of large figures once with inlays in glass paste. Featuring wide bodies with narrow enshrouded arms crossed right over left, the hands holding a crook and flail once adorned with inlays, these figures are recognizable by the mask-like face with a slight smile, elongated eyebrows and cosmetic stripes, also once inlaid. A similar example in Berlin was grouped together by Roeder with five others as deriving from Medinet Habu, in western Thebes, the temple complex founded by Ramesses III that continued in importance as a cult place of Amun-re and the burial place of several God’s Wives of Amun (G. Roeder, Ägyptische Bronzefiguren, p. 193, pl. 27 a-d).
Based on these parallels, this piece would have worn the tall white crown of Upper Egypt, most likely with mortises for attaching separately-cast feathers. A squared mortise at the base of the chin allowed for the attachment of a separately-made beard, as on most examples. The channel for the chinstrap would have been inlaid. Colorful glass paste inlays in blue, white, and red are preserved in some examples, while some had elaborate inlaid and gilt broad collars.
Many similar figures have been dated to the Saite period (see the example in Leiden, acc. no. AB 161, in M. Hill, ed., Gifts for the Gods: Images from Egyptian Temples, pp. 128-129). A large number of Osiris statuettes were excavated at Medinet Habu near the Eastern Gate, and it has been speculated that many were deposited into a mass “Osiris Grave” symbolizing the death and rebirth of the god (p. 65, E. Teeter, Religion and Ritual in Ancient Egypt).

15 Tags, 15 Mutuals
Lowkey forgot about this one, sorry and thanks for the tag @toribookworm22 🤧
Tagging: @jjm-blogspot @myhusbandsasemni @sentfromwolves @notalazysod @eli-writes-sometimes @chaneywrites @queenofimaginedworlds @risingshards @promptinator-writes and open tag (as always pls tell me if i tag you too much and/or you don't want to be tagged bc i do not have tag lists pls and thank you)
Answering for myself, although i will be stealing these questions to get into character when writing other POV i'm not used to *cough* Arden *cough*
Answers are a little long, because I can't help but elaborate on my answers.
1. Are you named after anyone?
Kind of, my middle (well, technically last name bc most indonesians don't have family surnames) name is after a Malay singer my mom really likes. Apparently it's because as a baby my eyes sparkled like hers do. It's sweet, but I hated being teased over having the same name as the singer lol
2. When was the last time you cried?
Around two weeks ago i think.
3. Do you have kids?
Lol no
4. Do you use sarcasm?
Only under my breath because I don't want to piss people off.
5. What's the first thing you notice about people?
Their face and clothing.
6. What's your eye color?
Good 'ol, boring dark brown. They're kinda pretty in the sun tho ig.
7. Scary movies or happy endings?
Happy endings, all the way. I will actually have issues sleeping if forced to consume a scary media alone. One time I had a vaguely uncanny valley-esque, slightly paranormal dream/nightmare which was Pretty Fucking Concerning as someone who doesn't remember dreams much. I checked my phone and it was like 2, almost 3 AM and i was supposed to work on my assignment but i was so spooked i just said "Nope. Absolutely not." and forced myself to go back to sleep.
8. Any special talents?
Uh, no, i don't think so. I'm pretty average at everything I do.
9. Where were you born?
Jakarta, Indonesia.
10. What are your hobbies?
Aside from the obvious reading and writing, i also like listening to music, sewing, and baking. I don't bake often though because i live in student housing atm and there's no oven in the shared kitchen.
11. Have you any pets?
No :( i really want to have cats one day though.
12. What sports do you play/have played?
I did taekwondo for like 2 years if that counts... oh and i also run like twice a week now because i have a required PE class.
13. How tall are you?
Around 157 cm?? That's around 5'1ish for you Americans.
14. Favorite subject in school?
Biology.
15. Dream job?
At this point I'm not really sure but I think I still want to be a researcher. Probably something to do with cosmetics or food or something like that.

Style of Reza-i 'Abbasi, A Kneeling Youth, Persia, Safavid, ca. 1635, gouache and ink heightened with gold on paper, two lines of nasta’liq in black ink above and four lines to the right in clouds reserved against a gold ground, within gold floral illuminated margins, laid down on card, 15.8 x 7.6 cm, Private Collection.
“Three couplets from the Bustan of Sa’di. On the back, possibly the folio number of an album: ‘120’. The present work is an example of the Isfahan school of painting during the later Safavid period, executed in the manner of Reza-i ‘Abbasi (circa 1560-1635), possibly by an artist near contemporary to or from his immediate circle. When Shah ‘Abbas I (1571-1629) moved the capital to Iṣfahān in 1589, Reza was his most influential court painter. Here Reza created a style that relied on a calligraphic line and an original sense of colour. One of Reza's common themes was the depiction of youthful figures, often, as in this example, they were rendered in colour against backgrounds drawn in gold. His paintings reflected the luxurious taste of the Safavid court with its fondness for elaborate textiles, Chinese porcelain and exotic garments, a result of Shah Abbas’s openness to foreigners and non-Muslims. Through foreign agents, Shah Abbas encouraged Europe to trade with Persia.
During the sixteenth century the Portuguese began establishing bases in the Arabian Sea and Persian Gulf regions. The arrival of European traders was soon reflected in the art of the Safavid court. European dress, poses and landscapes were synthesised into traditional Persian iconography. The paintings of Reza-i ‘Abbasi reflected the Shah and the public's preference for intimate works, single miniatures intended for the albums muraqqas of private collectors. They typically show one or two figures with a lightly drawn background, sometimes in gold as we see here with individual plants dotted about on a buff ground. The present painting closely relates to a ‘European giving a dog a drink’, dated 1634, at the Detroit Institute of Arts inv. no.58.334 (see Canby 1996, p.175, pl.128) and an Isfahan ‘Portrait of a kneeling youth in Portuguese garb’ of circa 1640, sold in these rooms 25 April 2002, lot 40.
The subject of this portrait of a foreigner drinking is an interesting one and possibly indicates that the Safavid prohibition against the consumption of wine was possibly more honoured in the breach than in the observance. The poetic verses surrounding the young man are from the introduction to the tenth ‘chapter’ or bab from the Bustan completed in 1257, by the great Persian poet Sa’adi Shirazi or Sa’di (1210-91/92). Sa’di’s Bustan consists of stories illustrating the standard virtues recommended to Muslims (justice, liberality, modesty, contentment) and reflections on the behaviour of dervishes and their ecstatic practices. Usually the verses found on miniatures from this period were often ornamental rather than relevant to the content. However in this case the wine drinking youth, a non-Muslim Portuguese foreigner, may be considered to represent the very sins and idolatry of man for which Sa’di warns us against. Or maybe the beautiful youthful figure in sumptuous attire surrounded by poetic verses, may also allude to the fact that drinking often inspires poetry and art, thus presenting us with an image for reflection and admiration.”

Study of a Figure in Priest's Robes, Jacob Jordaens, c. 1650, Minneapolis Institute of Art: Prints and Drawings
red and black drawing of torso, legs and arms of a figure wearing robes, with red overlay garment with scroll designs on PL side Jacob Jordaens was the leading painter in Antwerp in the generation after Rubens. He was greatly influenced by the elder artist and occasionally worked for him. Though he is now best known for his droll genre pictures, he also painted religious, historical, mythological, and allegorical works. His prolific draftsmanship is represented by some 450 drawings plausibly attributed to him today. Like Rubens, he worked with a decisive hand, and scholars have had some difficulty assigning some drawing with certainty to one or the other. Jordaens' work is characterized by clear contours and insistent hatching. He often mixed media in his drawings. The use of black and red chalk, oiled charcoal, gray wash, and white heightening seen in the present drapery study is elaborate but not exceptional. The combination of red and black chalk is a hallmark of his workaday drawings. The crisp, luminous effect produced by the brush work in gray and white typifies the close attention that he gave to lighting in preparing his compositions. Though the present study has not been connected with a finshed painting, it clearly represents a priest raising his hand in a gesture of blessing. Size: 14 15/16 x 10 1/16 in. (37.94 x 25.56 cm) (approx.) 20 1/2 x 24 15/16 in. (52.07 x 63.34 cm) (mat) Medium: Black and red chalk, oiled charcoal, grey wash, heightened with white

since you‘ve already done alpine skiing for the fandom character ask game, i‘m gonna ask you to do schwingen 😁 and pls elaborate a bit because i definitely don‘t know enough without that 😅😇🥰
How did I deserve you?? 😭 Thank you so much for your question. This is going to be fun. 😁
blorbo (favorite character, character I think about the most): There is only one! The one and only! *aggressively waves at my icon* Armon Orlik!
Tumblr media
It's the smile! It's the aloofness! It's the blatant scorn against social media! It's the talent coupled with skills and determination! It's the curls that he let grow out during lockdown and cut again for the new season! 😭 It's the fact that he's the only Schwinger who approximatively knows how to wear a suit!
Tumblr media
I want him to be King so bad it's not even funny anymore. Also, he reminds me a bit of Sharl in more than one way: 1. He's his own worst critic, and nobody needs to remind him of his mistakes (quite the opposite). With Sharl it's the "I am stupid" from Baku, and with Armon it's the way he barely held it together after he lost the final round in Zug in 2016 that just makes me want to light the world on fire for them:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
2. The nordostschweiz. Schwingverband is, at times, Ferrari-levels of incompetent and infighting, and whatever success they can celebrate on national levels are more despite the NOSV and not thanks to.
scrunkly (my “baby”, character that gives me cuteness aggression, character that is So Shaped): A very fluctuating position. My OG scrunkly, when the term scrunkly was still one and half decade away from being coined, when tumblr did not exist yet and Schnappi was at the top of the charts, was Willy Graber. He's not a scrunkly anymore, in fact he's retired, but he'll always be my scrunkly. He was always among the smallest wrestlers but that never stopped him.
Tumblr media
Sorry abt the quality. First one is from 2011 (I think) against Grab, second one is from 2019 with Walther at the celebration of his fifth and last eidg. Kranz.
After a long draught, my next scrunkly was Marcel Bieri. He picked up the slack for Zug when Reichmuth crumbled in 2019 and won all his fights on the first day.
Tumblr media
He's had really bad luck with injuries since then, also he's been growing a Gasly-style beard (no picture), which...bby...no...but I still love him. 💖
Now that I'm old and spent, pretty much every baby-faced Neukranzer is my scrunkly. How are they allowed to fight when they're just so smoll?!?!
Tumblr media
scrimblo bimblo (underrated/underappreciated fave): Benjamin Gapany. Nobody cares about him bc he's Fribourgeois and doesn't speak German that well. 😔
Tumblr media
glup shitto (obscure fave, character that can appear in the background for 0.2 seconds and I won’t shut up about it for a week): It's Schwingen, they're all obscure in the grand scheme. 🙈
poor little meow meow (“problematic”/unpopular/controversial/otherwise pathetic fave): Joel Wicki. He knows that he's good. Unfortunately for the longest time he didn't know that he wasn't supposed to say it out loud. Tbh in any other sport his self-proclamations would be average, imo they don't sound that different than for example Odi's towards the end of the last season, furthermore they're true bc he usually is the best at every tournament he participates, but Schwingen is all about humility, and saying that you consider your performance good bc you won a fight automatically draws comparisons to Ibrahimovic. 🙄
Also the teamspirit in the Innerschweizer Verband is not the best not existing and it is a wonder he even reached the Schlussgang in Zug. With the exception of Schurtenberger, who kept Armon back (grr...), pretty much nobody helped him in any way.
Also also Stucki is about 20 cm taller and probably 50 kg heavier, and he had to fight him TWICE in Zug, all while carrying the expectations of the entire Innerschweiz.
Tumblr media
horse plinko (character I would torment for fun, for whatever reason): Nobody, of course. 😂 They do that just fine on their own (see my last point)
eeby deeby (character I would send to superhell): I don't have to send him, he's already in a superhell of his own making: Arnold Forrer, Schwingen's answer to Nico Rosberg. He spent his best years fighting against Abderhalden, and losing every time. He was crowned King in 2001 but he didn't even win then (final round was a draw and the jury declared him the winner), and when Abderhalden retired, he was past his prime. The reason why Nöldi hasn't retired yet is bc he wants to be the first man to win 150 wreaths (Kränze). He's been at 147 for the last three years (two if we're ignoring 2020), and it...does not look good. He's 43, has an artificial hip, and problems with his back...srlsy I can't overstate how impossible that goal is. It also feels so unnecessary, he's already record holder by a wide margin (second-most Kränze is Pellet with 136 and he retired long ago) with nobody in sight to beat him within the next decade. But he just does not want to give up. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Pair of Figures from a Shrine Group, Kwaku Benpoh, First half 20th century, Minneapolis Institute of Art: Art of Africa and the Americas
standing male and female couple, facing forward; man on L wears short pants and has linear scarifications on checks, with PL hand on woman's neck; woman at R wears a 'soul wishes' medallion hanging from a ribbon around her neck; woman has PL hand next to her head and PR arm around man's waist; both figures wear sandals and rings around their necks In the late 17th century the numerous small kingdoms of the Akan peoples in the area of Ghana in West Africa were melded into a powerful empire by the chiefs of the Asante, one of the largest and most powerful of the Akan group. They developed a wide-ranging trading empire whose economy was based on the use of gold dust as the common means of exchange. Asante kings ruled over the area known as the Gold Coast (Ghana) until the 20th century and they still hold considerable prestige and power today. Like all royal systems, the Asante relied on a variety of prestigious objects to identify and honor their kings and others of high social status. Gold ornaments, luxurious woven textiles, ritual objects and carved statues were all part of the regalia and formal environment that proclaimed the lineage, position, and importance of the Asantahene, the King. This group of five figures formed part of a set of objects that honored an Asante king. The figures represent some of the King's relatives and servants who carry objects symbolic of the King's position and power. The pair of figures standing with their arms holding each other depict a couple of the royal lineage, indicated by the round metal disk hung around the woman's neck. This represents a special type of gold ornament worn by members of the royal family on important occasions. The couple is accompanied by a group of four attendants. One man carries an elaborate royal sword over one shoulder. The social status of an Asante man was marked by the type, size, material, and decoration of his clothing and personal objects, including the formal sword he was entitled to carry on ceremonial occasions. Another man carries the King's stool. Each Asante adult had a personal stool which was also believed to embody the spiritual essence of the individual and was therefore of prime importance in their daily and ceremonial lives. The other attendant is a soldier, symbol of the King's military power. He carries a flintlock musket on his shoulder and a small cask of gu Size: 15 1/8 x 7 x 3 in. Hibiya and Soto-Sakurada From Yamashita-Cho, No. 3 in One Hundred Famous Views of Edo, Utagawa Hiroshige, 12th month of 1857, Brooklyn Museum: Asian Art
This print is an example of the compositional wit that characterizes many of the "One Hundred Famous Views of Edo," involving a superimposition of an extreme close-up on a distant landscape. The spirit of New Year play is expressed by the kites in the sky. One is a yakko figure dancing in the upper margin; another is haplessly fallen on a rival's string. Two close-up battledores (hagoita) shown from either side, the one on the left has an even closer detail of a Kadomatsu pine (compare with pl. 2). In midair above the shuttlecock appears to be moving right to left. The location here is exactly reversed from the previous print. Here it is looking from a commoners' neighborhood (Yamashita-cho), now the area around Soto-Sakurada. The impressive facade that stretches along the far side of the moat is one of the most detailed depictions of a daimyo mansion found in any ukiyo-e print, the main residence of the Nabeshima clan of Saga; the elaborate design of the gate denotes a domain of high rank (350,000 koku in this case). This site is now occupied by Hibiya Park, and the one to the left, where the corner wall of the mansion of the lord of Shirakawa is just barely visible behind a pine branch, is now the Imperial Hotel. Overall, the print offers a pleasing contrast between the solemn majesty of the daimyo presence in Edo and the lightness and wit of the commoners' play. Size: Image: 13 1/4 x 8 5/8 in. (33.7 x 21.9 cm) Sheet: 14 3/8 x 9 3/16 in. (36.5 x 23.3 cm) Medium: Woodblock print

hiiii i’m experiencing you’re not as brave as you were at the start brainrot so pls elaborate on ur process for that MASTERPIECE
casey as always you have ALL OF MY HEART for this <3333
truly i just remember reading psolc at your insistence and then being UNABLE to stop thinking about the intentional parallels between jj discovering spencer on the field and her discovering roz's body and i just really wanted to explore jj's headspace in those scenes bc i feel like the original author left a lot of things open to interpretation bc of the need for natural narrative flow- it doesn't make sense in the main story to use jj's perspective for all of those scenes w spence and hotch and alex- so there was a lot of space for me to kind of play around with jj's internal monologue and how she's specifically feeling over the course of that horrible day and really dig into her relationship w roz and how she's coping (or not) with her sister's death in a way that we haven't seen much (yet!) in the original fic
i went back and reread the original doc and i had completely forgot i wrote the whole fic at like 1 in the morning in an angst-fueled haze which is SO funny and insane to me skbskjfvs i was just taken over by the spirit of jj angst i suppose
also not to toot my own horn but i do really love the title i used bc its a nice head nod to the fact that the chapter title for the spencer field scene/s is Little Lion Man from the song by mumford and sons, and "youre not as brave as you were at the start" is a lyric from that song while also really nailing one of the big themes i explored in the fic
anyway! everyone should read Patron Saint of Lost Causes its the best cm fic i've ever read (and, if you liked it, read my jj pov angst fic for chapters 15-17!)
tell me if there’s a fic you want to hear me ramble about my thoughts on or get the director’s cut behind the scenes dish about! (ao3 linked in bio)
