Club Penguin Shutdown: World Malfunction Cover

This is a book cover for the x Reader story based on the Club Penguin Shutdown Horror Animation Series on YouTube.

You guys remember Club Penguin? I always remembered playing the Nintendo DS games about the Club Penguin franchise until the official shutdown came by and took away our favorite game.

In fact, I've recently seen the Club Penguin shutdown series and I figured what if I wrote a book about the series.

Like what if Y/n wanted to go play Club Penguin like old times only to find out about the game's official shutdown and suddenly got himself trapped inside the game that is now a barren wasteland ever since the shutdown happened to the world of Club Penguin and now Y/n has to find a way back home to the real world with the help of Lil Jeffy and some penguins that are trying their very best to survive the barren wasteland of the place that is once known as Disney's best and most nostalgic online game that is now left to rot and forgotten.

What will Y/n and Lil Jeffy do in the world of Club Penguin that is now left in ruins after the shutdown had happen to their own world.

I think this is more or less some rambles about Agent from What’s left of Club Penguin, or the shutdown series.

Agent, he’s a very complicated character with a story that has been left untold due to the focus on Jeffy, we know he feels guilty for a mass killing that is the fault of the EPF, which we never get a explanation for, he has PTSD, HE HAS BEEN TRYING TO HELP PEOPLE SENSE HE GOT THIS JOB, HES QUITE FRANKLY STATED AS SELFLESS, BUT HIS STORY HAS BEEN LEFT UNTOLD. He clearly would sacrifice himself, it’s to the point of guilt where he’s tried to die twice and only stopped due to jeffy, which jeffy left him behind anyway in one episode, he presumed all other agents dead and without a way of communication he’s kinda spiraled into a bit of a nightmare that he wishes never happened.

THIS IS VERY HARD TO UNDERSTAND BECAUSE I AM BAD AT RAMBLING

I got caught up with Club Penguin Shutdown, and I had to draw this moment from S2 E5: “The Gathering”. It just made me so happy to see that someone cares about the poor agent. I am way too emotionally attached to him. 

This episode just made me really happy, okay?

ASL brothers HAIKYUU!! AU!!!!!

Day one of Self Indulgent month for me! I love these three, i love haikyuu, i love killer whales!

(The Naval Academy is this au’s version of marines)

For those who dont know, in Haikyuu (and prob in real life too but in my experience its not as important as they make it in the anime) The "Ace" of the team is the person who primarily scores points via spiking. Theyre the Hard Hitter, basically.

Originally, i was gonna make their school mascot just "The Pirates" but i couldnt figure out a clever pun with the school name so i scrapped it in favor of an animal mascot. I figured I would have a wider range of puns that way.

I landed on Orcas as the mascot because I think they really embody a pirate way of life. Theyre strong, hang out in groups of a mix of found family and their actual family, hate the rich, and theyre fun loving! And also im a bit biased because theyre my favorite animal, but hey, i said its self indulgent month, didnt I?

Their school name is a play on the word for Killer Whale (Shachi シャチ) and the word for 'knowledge' (Chishiki 知識), i just smashed the two words together. I'm very proud of myself for coming up with that given i dont speak japanese at all.

Anyway, with their designs, I was taking inspiration from orcas to match the design themes of haikyuu. Ace's hair is bleached on the underside to look like the underside of an orca's body, I made ace and sabo's eyes look more whale-like, the clip in sabo's hair is meant to resemble to spots behind orca's eyes, and I tried to make luffy's hair look more like it's round and spiking down more than i usually do.

Ace is wearing a ''way of the ace" shirt in the first picture, Luffy is wearing a shirt that just says "VOLLEY BALL" because i think it would be funny if he wore a bunch of those Zero-context-poorly-translated-random-english-words shirts that theres a bunch of in Asia. Sabo dyes his hair like delinquents do, but it doesnt much look delinquent~y because of how soft it looks. He means to do it to make him look like a delinquent though. Sabo still has his scars in this au, but he uses his hair, arm braces, and leg braces to cover them up. LUFFY AND ACE HAVE FUNKY SOCKS BECAUSE NO ONE CAN TELL THEM (or me) THEY CANT. Sabo wears athletic socks though because he's a debbie downer. He defends himself saying “It’s practical” and Ace and luffy call him “practically a Debbie Downer.”

Luffy is very good at receiving from growing up with Sabo and Ace practicing setting and spiking with eachother and assigning Luffy as Ball Boy. So he got the libero position from that cuz sabo and ace put in a good word for him. Nepotism.

I didn't feel like coming up with designs for them, but Zoro and Bepo are also on their team (theyre in the fifth image sitting on the right of the line of students). Koala and nami are student managers, Robin is the teacher manager, and Franky is the coach. all other straw hats/luffy friends, rev army comrades, and whitebeard brethren are in the stands. Im trying to keep the ages consistent with how they are in canon.

I didnt do a very in depth research, but i couldnt find what Japanese schools have as mascot costumes. and given no one wears any costumes in haikyuu for their team, i can kind of assume they dont use them over there. But unfortunately for them, I'm American. And part of the backbone of our schooling system, is Vaguely Unsettling Mascot Costumes. My sister says my design for it looks like its from Club Penguin, and i find that delightful. [moment of silence for my billions of fallen Puffles, taken from me in The Shutdown] Anyway.

I thought I was clever coming up with the equivalent of the Marines in this au being a Naval Academy. And their mascot being Seals, famously the animal that gets the absolute Worst Of It from orcas. Get shit onnnnn

phineas and ferb episode pieced together from a dream i had: that ducky momo game that candace played obsessively in one episode shuts down, because it’s an mmo for children and the year is no longer 2009. obviously candace is end of club penguin level devastated so phineas and ferb try to cheer her up by making their own version of the game, which because they’re phineas and ferb is like this massive hyper immersive augmented reality construct that spans the entirety of danville, and i guess there’s like a message in there about how their big extravagant approach to everything isn’t always the answer because while it’s sweet that they’re trying to make her feel better candace doesn’t want a new better ducky momo game, she just wants her crappy browser based ducky momo game back because it’s special to her. i didn’t dream the doof and perry b plot but i can see doofenshmirtz having a thematically relevant heartbreaking backstory about the mmo [Medieval MethOd acting] he used to play as a child for a fleeting moment of happiness being unceremoniously shut down when the drusselstinian government dropped flash compatibility [blinding each other with bright lights was a central mechanic that the game simply didn’t function without]. maybe he makes an inator to delete everyone else’s beloved mmos [perry the platypus can you please help me troubleshoot my inator all it does is shut down online roleplaying games for some reason] and that’s what wipes phineas and ferb’s elaborate ducky momo fan project out of existence. i also didn’t get an ending but i reckon it should end on like it turns out that baljeet backs up the entire internet every couple months just to be safe or something, so they actually have the source files for candace’s comfort baby game right there, so they set up a sort of ‘ducky momo rewritten’ server so that candace and people like her can come back to the game whenever they want. linda gets home and is like so what’s this about phineas and ferb remaking that computer game of yours and candace is too happy to even really care that she can’t bust them for turning danville into a virtual reality exhibit she’s just like look phineas and ferb got ducky MMOmo back on my computer post server shutdown see :) and turns her laptop to her and linda says well wasn’t that nice of them good on you boys. oh there you are perry, roll credits. they should be paying me for this

Kokichi feels like the kind of guy who played alot of online kid games growing up (animal jam, club penguin, poptropica) and just got so invested in them creatively he started jotting down ideas for "if i was in charge of this game, this is what i'd add!". he's done it for years and he still does it now even tho he's well past the target demographic age

as the games get older and get updated less often- or just straight up shutdown and can only be played with an emulator- he gets more and more out of pocket with his ideas. like he knows it's a kids game, but hey what if animal jam had a traitorous alpha and a full blown war ravaged the land of Jamaa because of their actions? what if also playable ducks? Kokichi simply cannot get enough of it

he has whole files on his pc with nothing but lists and lists of lore and update and item concepts, he has them marked as "World Domination Plans" but anyone who knows him well enough knows the only worlds those plans are dominating are the ones from online kids games that are just glorifyed kid friendly avatar chatrooms.

who knows maybe my hcs about him becoming a game dev as an adult could be useful for this, because while he may never get ahold of the games he grew up with- he would have the skills to make his own game of the same nature. tho he might go overboard with the lore concepts

For everyone, I am a time traveler from the year 2024, and I'm looking at the future of club penguin but this may not look good. So first of all in 2017 this entire island is gonna shutdown for good because of the penguins decreasing. But whats good is that there will be private servers for the game. But this one.... is bad news. So this year there will be an infection around the island and very bad things will happen. Also for Rookie and JPG you will have a maroon colored baby chick named Roxie in the future. There will also be 3 TV specials in the near furture that will air on the disney channel. PLEASE READ ALL OF THIS BECAUSE I SPENT A WHILE TYPING THIS.
