printed my illustration/photography poster series, went up to level 7 to print with Greg
it was interesting to see because it was my first time using the printing facilities in L7 - definitely will be using for semester 2, the process was very smooth whereas printing from warehouse stationary they can get it wrong - however with Greg, i was able to communicate exactly what I wanted.
brand guidelines
I found some different competitors that would align with my brand.
first one is the clothes swap.
I did a case study for this company before as I found it early on during my project and always was super inspired by them.
application
for the brand guidelines I need to do the application of my brand identity on products.
stickers
created these using illustrator, just from using the logos and graphic elements
Tumblr media
wayfinding
I wanted to use the pop-up store for part of this project as I spend lots of time making the store and making every part of the store including the furniture etc. in blender so I thought if I tweaked a little bit of it I can use it for my mockups instead of only using mockup's from online sources
Tumblr media Tumblr media
business cards
I did some different variations of the business card
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
id card
I want to expand on this for semester 2, bringing in the pop-up store and creating outcomes for this idea - creating a community to further expand my campaign.

A Comprehensive Guide to Using Product Mockups for Your Logo Designs
Mockups serve as visual aids that enable you to effectively communicate the meaning behind each design component and its relevance to the client’s company or product. By business logo designs company, you can give clients a more vivid and realistic impression of how the logo will appear when applied to various items such as business cards, clothing, bags, paper, etc.

Case Study Refined/Proof 1:
Title: Memento
The Project:
Designing a brand that encourages people to spend less money on trending clothing items that eventually go out of style and instead invest in a capsule wardrobe which aims to change the way people have learned to shop by shifting the focus to what is truly needed out of a closet, making it a more financially and environmentally friendly solution.
Design Process:
I first began this project by conducting more research about the fast fashion industry and the effectiveness of a capsule closet. With this information I wrote a design brief, rationale, and research summary. Next was the preliminary work which consisted of sketches, concept development, logo drafts, typography, personas, and wireframes.
I wanted the brand to resonate with a target audience of women ages 18-30. The color palette consists of a neutral beige with pops of orange and navy blue, the illustration style is playful with curves rather than sharp edges, and the typography is rounded with a relaxed look and feel.
After creating a brand identity, I began designing branded pieces such as: an Infographic poster design with information and facts about the life cycle of peoples clothes and the fast fashion industry growth, A closet clean-out bag design to send Memento their out of style clothes to be up-cycled into new versatile clothing pieces that will be sold in the capsule boxes available on the website, Two Shipping box designs that would be filled with pre-selected versatile clothing items to help people build a stylish capsule wardrobe with ease, a carousel-style Instagram advertisement that contains a step by step guide for a popular method of building a capsule wardrobe, and finally a high-fidelity mockup e-commerce website where you can buy a box and take a style quiz to get matched with the best capsule wardrobe box for you.
My Role:
Research, art direction, branding, illustration, typography.
Tools:
Illustrator, InDesign, Adobe XD, Photoshop.

A Recorded Life Sequel (5/10) - Miraculous Ladybug
Words: 1125 Chapter Summary: Another day at the office for Marinette and Adrien, and Marinette even has some time to record a video! Afterward, they run into some trouble. Author's Note: we are back in business! Thank you everyone for being patient with my hiatus, the end of my school semester kicked my butt, then holidays kept me busy. I hope everyone had great holidays and a happy new year! I loved writing this chapter and I'm excited to be back at this story. Halfway done with the sequel!
Prev / Next / Masterlist
Timelapse
---
It was a slow day for Marinette. She didn't have any deadlines coming up too soon, and actually had a day to breathe and just work. For the first time in a few weeks, she even had time to set her camera up to record her process of working on her mockup design on a mannequin. Like the good ol' days, she'd timelapse the video and do a voice over for her fans.
Sure, her team would come in to ask questions and get some help, but those were usually easy answers. It seemed like the universe was giving her an easy day, which was a nice difference.
As for Adrien, it was a little different. Ever since he decided on the rebrand of Agreste Fashion to Emilie's, Adrien and his marketing and branding team had been working around the clock to get everything switched over. There were new logos that had to be made, followed by a new look for the website, business cards for everyone employed, and coming up with the perfect tags for clothing. To say it was stressful was an understatement, and they had planned to release the rebrand fully in a week.
It had already been a few weeks of working on the rebrand, and it was taking longer than anyone expected. Though stressful, they were very excited for Agreste Fashion to change and evolve.
Plagg had gotten bored of listening to Adrien talk about the perfect font and flew through floors and walls to get to Marinette's office. She always had extra cheese in her lunch bag (and it was unguarded, unlike Adrien, who likes to pace Plagg). Plus, Plagg enjoyed talking to Tikki and watching Marinette work when she was focused.
Plagg flew through the wall with a big smile. "Hi, Marinette!" He said and flew past her to land on her desk to sit next to Tikki.
"Hello, Plagg," She greeted, "Get tired of Adrien?"
"He was driving me crazy, asking me which font looked better. If it's not camembert, I don't care!" He crossed his arms, then got up to go find the cheese he was thinking of.
Marinette chuckled and turned away from her work for a second. "At least he's asking you, and he's taking this thing seriously. I swear, he's never thought about fonts more before this," She said.
"I'm proud of him," Tikki said, "Even though Plagg is bored of it, I love the changes Adrien is making. It will fit the company much better," Tikki added.
"I agree; it's going to be a great look," She said and stepped back to look at her work. It was getting to where she wanted it to be, though there were always changes she could make. She was excited to be recording a process, as it has been a while, and was looking for something new to post to her fashion channel. Sure, every so often, she could post things about unfinished projects, or after lines were launched, but there wasn't too much she could do.
On her second channel, though, she was more active. Not as much as she used to be, but there were still things she enjoyed posting there. She and Adrien played a lot of video games, and whenever she saw Alya, they tried to do something fun. Outings, games, storytimes, they always had fun creating videos. One time, they got Adrien to work at the hotel with Chloé for one of the fan's favorite series, and it was determined he could not do that job.
"See, I think it will be good. It's just such a boring process," Plagg complained as he ate his cheese.
Marinette shook her head at him. "I know, it can be a lot of work to sit and listen to Adrien figure things out," She joked. "Give him a break and let him just talk it out; he'll get through it all eventually," She reminded Plagg. Before she could get too much more work done, there was a knock at her office door.
"Good afternoon, Marinette. Would you mind coming to see our sketches for approval?" Two of her team members asked. She was the team lead; she had to approve of everything for her lines and work.
"Of course," She smiled and paused the recording on her camera. "Tikki, don't let Plagg eat it all. Save some for dinner!" Marinette warned as she walked out of her office.
---
Adrien was exhausted. He liked to be out of the office at a decent time, but he was still there later than he wanted to be with so much going on. Finally, he forced himself to close out of his document and head home. Surely, Marinette was already home and waiting for him.
His thoughts were wrong as he walked through the central part of the office and spotted her light still on. With a sigh, he shook his head and headed to greet her. Adrien knocked on the door, but she didn't look up. Adrien pushed the door in slowly. "Marinette," He said, making her jump slightly.
"Oh, hey, Adrien!" She smiled, "I'm still working on my video; you heading out?" She asked.
"I am, and so are you," He walked over and stopped the recording. "It's getting late; let's grab a late-night snack and get some sleep," Adrien said.
Marinette gave in much easier than last time, as much as she wished she could keep working. If it weren't for Adrien, she would probably spend all night working on her designs and mockups. "Alright, what snack are you thinking?" She smirked.
The Kwamis quickly flew to their respectful spots in bags as Adrien and Marinette locked up the office. As Marinette began to walk to her car, Adrien grabbed her hand to stop her. "Let's walk to that place around the corner. It's a nice night, and I think we both could use some fresh air," Adrien said.
"Good idea, Adrien," Marinette replied, and the two of them walked in the opposite direction of their cars. Though it was dark, Adrien was right about it being a nice night, and they both definitely needed to walk and smell the air. Since they don't run around on rooftops anymore, they could use the breaks.
As they rounded the corner, Marinette fell behind as she heard something hit the ground, assuming it was something from her purse.
She glanced down and realized it was not hers, and decided to keep on walking. But before she could get too far, someone grabbed her arm. "Ah!" She yelled.
Adrien's head shot around fast enough to give him whiplash. "Mari!" He started to walk towards her, but someone grabbed him too, preventing him from getting any closer.

39)Will’s Workshop- Mock ups
In this workshop, will showed us a free mock up website (mock up tree) which will allow us to create pretty much anything for our brand such as packaging, business cards and mock up social media interfaces.
As I was just starting out with creating the packaging, I didn't really know how I wanted it to look, or even where to start. I thought that logo looked best against a white background so I tried to find a white mockup that I could put the design onto. I played around with the sizing of the logo and the positioning of it but I feel as if this particular mock up limited me to where I could position things as often times it would seem off centre or as if it was floating, which I didn't like, also in feel that this particular box looked more like a shoebox than clothing packaging.
Tumblr media
After Wills workshop, I had the motivation to start creating a few things for our brand.
I decided to create clothing tags as it would be a great way to add our logo onto our clothes as we didn't discuss whether or not the logo as going to be embroidered onto any of our products.
I opted to keep it relatively sleek and simple so I decided to use just ‘abbreviate’ the logo opting for just the ‘G’ and the earth symbol. I decided to create a tag with a cardboard brown as I thought it might help it look more sustainable which is something that I have to keep referring back to as it is a major component of our brand. I’m happy with the outcome of the tags and they were relatively quick and easy to create.
Tumblr media
I then went on to creating a mock up of some bags that I thought would be good for our store or pop up shop. Sticking with the white theme, I opted for a white shopping bag. Initially I just put the logo as is on the face of the bag, however, I wasn't too sure about this as I feel it ended up looking quite squashed, particularly on the smaller bag.
Tumblr media
I then decided to re-work this and use the ‘gaia’ without the earth symbol on the bigger bag, which I liked because it looked more refined and sleek. I then added the earth symbol by itself onto the the smaller bag and much preferred this design to the one above.
Tumblr media
I also wanted to create a gift for our brand so I decided to use the Amalfi Coast font that is used in our logo to write ‘gift card’ and repositioned and resized the earth symbol in the bottom right hand corner. I like the way that thus turned out and I think it has a very clean, simple yet effective look.
Tumblr media
I also considered what would go inside the packaging. I've noticed that almost every parcel has some of Thank You card and or discount code hidden inside as an extra surprise. I was able to add our social media on there as well which I thought was a nice touch and used the Amalfi Coast font to type up the ‘Thank you’.
I’m happy with the outcome of this as it stays very consistent with the packaging.
Tumblr media
I created both a brown and white box to match Narnia’s bag that she created, so that the packaging was able to keep its consistency. Again I didn't want to use the logo as is so I decided to put the earth symbol on the front rather than at the top. I then wanted to reiterate our sustainability, so I decided to place ‘sustainable loungewear’ and ‘100% good for the planet’ on the sides.

I wanted to create a mock up that would show what the packaging would look like when opened. I wanted to incorporate the ‘goddess’ element of our name and link it back to our story so I decided to write a positive affirmation. I went with ‘You look like a goddess’ as we want our women to feel empowered and beautiful when they wear our clothes.
Tumblr media
I then went on to create a billboard, mainly just for fun but I ended up liking it and thought it would be a good way to further promote our brand. I added our website and the designs that Lisa and Charlotte created.
Tumblr media
I think that created the mockups for our brand was the most must fun part as it made it feel more tangible and real in a sense. It also allowed me to be more creative and creating the designs were fairly straightforward and easy.
One thing I do have to consider though, is what materials the packaging is going to be made from as we are a sustainable brand.

To go with my retro repeat patterns/ clothing designs for my FMP I’ve decided to create some branding, Im going to be creating a retro inspired logo for my brand and a name.
I also may create a marketing poster advertising my different designs, I could do this using mockups with my designs on them. Last of all I’m thinking of making a animation showcasing my designs.
After making my T-shirts or tote bags I might hold a photoshoot of someone wearing my finished outcome.

Packaging and Promotion
We decided that we would start off as an online store as well as do pop up shops at festivals to promote ourselves. The majority of people ages 18-25 shop online, it is unclear whether this is due to the pandemic or if online shopping is easier. We spoke to some people within that age range to get their opinion and many of them said that it is convenient to go to a physical store and try on the clothing. We decided to put it in our future plans to open a physical store later. Now that we had decided how we would be selling our product we needed to design appropriate packaging. I was assigned the task of designing these items. We agreed that it would be best to use the most environmentally conscious method of package as possible.
For the pop up shop packaging we decided to use a drawstring bag as it is convenient and reusable. I chose our signature vibrant colour palette for this bag and then added our signature logo onto it. We decided to name our brand VIVID in reference to the vibrant psychedelic colours that we used in our brand.
Tumblr media
Next I designed the packaging that we would use when shipping products from our online store.
Tumblr media
I opted for a box instead of plastic packaging because it is better for the environment. This would've been one of the many steps that we would have taken towards being an eco friendly brand in the future.

Blog Post #8
ARTG476
Case Study Rough:
Project title: Memento
Client type: Self-Initiated Design Research Project
Your Role: Design, research, art direct, illustration, writer.
Project description
Begin with a problem of choice and come up with a solution.
To help people discover and build a capsule closet of their own
The capsule wardrobe can help people save time, energy, money, and decrease your environmental footprint in the long run, all while helping you develop your personal style.
Research and Analysis
As a result of the fast fashion increase, a growing amount of textile waste is being dumped into landfill each year.
In a study by Trunk Club, it was discovered that approximately 61% of Americans struggle to find clothes to wear even with a wardrobe full of clothes.
People spend money on statement clothing items that are trendy but eventually go out of style. This cycle, long term, has a negative impact on the environment, and causes people to spend more money on new clothes. A capsule wardrobe aims to change the way people have learned to shop. Shifting the focus to what is truly needed out of a closet, making it more useful and financially friendly for the consumer.
Design Process
Research (The problem, Target audience, Success statement, Deliverables needed, Brief, Rationale, Research summary)
Preliminary work (Sketches, Concepts, Color palette, Logo drafts, Logo final, Logo standards guide, typography, persona, wireframe, mockup)
Design (Infographic, illustrations, Package design, Bag design, Social media ad, may include Web design?)
Design Solution and Deliverables
Infographic design: Has information and facts about the life cycle of peoples clothes and the fast fashion industry growth.
Bag design: A closet clean-out bag to send Memento their out of style clothes to be up-cycled into new versatile clothing pieces that will be sold in the capsule boxes available on the website. In return they will receive money back or shopping credits to go towards a box.
Package designs: Shipping box designs would be filled with pre-selected versatile clothing items to help people build a stylish capsule wardrobe with ease.
Social media ad: A carousel-style Instagram advertisement that contains a step by step guide for a popular method of building a capsule wardrobe.
Website: An e-commerce style site where you can buy a box and take a style quiz to get matched with the best capsule wardrobe box for you.
