Yo this is amazing!!!
In case anyone needs it, I have the "library" of every clone that has an official name in the Clone Wars.
It's a sheet of gifs but it still has everyone (except the newest characters from Bad Batch they haven't been added yet.)
A gift.

Do you have headcanons for how any clones got their names? Of so spill
Hi Anon, I do!
However, my headcanon is really basic and boring and I'm so sorry if you thought I'd have this cool hc where they went on a grand journey to find a name that fit them, because it's really not.
My HC is basically based from the comics and the show.
So, according to the comics, the first clone to officially recieve a name (besides Boba I guess) is Alpha-17.
He was very creatively named "Alpha" by Anakin Skywalker, both as a way to make him seem more like a person and less like a thing, but also because it was a lot easier to yell for just Alpha instead of a whole number
Alpha didn't care for getting a name, because he was ✨not like other clones✨ However when Alpha went back to Kamino to train the next squad of ARC Troopers, Anakin made him promise to give every clone a name instead of a number.
According to the clone wars show, some clones got their names based on their personality and special traits. Such as Fives since his number was all Fives, Echo because he repeated everything, Droidbait because he just straight up ran into the enemy lines, ect.
Because of that, my HC for how clones get their names is like, clones with odd names gets them based on their personality or special traits. Examples: Tech, Wrecker, Flanker, Jester, Lucky, Niner, Striker, Fives and so on.
However clones with more normal sounding names gets them from Alpha(and later on whatever clone is in charge of the battalion they get assigned to if they don't have a name by then) so they aren't just a number. Examples: Bel, Gus, Cody, Wilco, Gregor, Keeli, Reed and so on.
....
.........
..............That being said, I do like to think there's some clones who does the same thing I sometimes do for OC's: Think of a name or a concept of a name that would be really cool, but not in Galatic Basic, so they look up the name in another language and choose whatever sounds coolest Example: Kairn = Dark in Twi'leki (Also, Clones with animal names are furries, I will not eleborate)
Sorry for the basic answer and sorry it's taken me so long to respond. My life is a mess rn 💖

The Sister Wolf-Habits
Whina has bad habits.
First is her temper.
Whina is extremely protective of her squads (well mostly, all clones, but her squad come first.) So anyone that insults her squad is going to get a chair in the face. One shiny insulted Thunder, saying what a useless soldier he was and Whina just jumped the man. He started screaming because she bit his face.
Poor bastard needed stitches.
Mixed in with the temper was the swearing and insults. She swears like a pirate and she can come up with creative insults. She once called a senators daughter an “entitled cunt” after arguing with her over military protocols. The pack had to drag her away from that one.
Then there is the smoking.
She doesn't smoke those little death-sticks, nope.
She smokes those huge cigars that just stunk. To make it worse, Rafe and Elspeth also smoked them and the group usually all smoked together. They were made to smoke outside after some troopers complained about the smell.
But her weirdest habit was the vents.
Whina crawls into the vents of every building and ship she comes across. She states that she has to know every part of the place shes in, but Sinker told his vod he thinks she is just nosy and likes to spy on people. She had cubbyholes everywhere, stuff either with books, snacks, or weapons.
She even somehow sneaked into the Jedi temple; though she was found quickly and kicked out.
The one place she couldn't sneak in was the senate building.
The Corrie guards always manage to find her and Fox then threatened that she tried again, she was going to shoot her.
So she did it again.
And he shot at her.
When she came back to the barracks with a blaster burn on her shoulder, she only had two words.
“Worth it.”
AN: If anyone wants to know how it looked when Whina got kicked out of the Jedi temple, just think of Jazz from Fresh Prince of Bel Air.

Echo x gender neutral Reader
Piece of you
Little angst then lil fluff
My requests are open!
Plenty of suspicious people come into Cid's Parlor and today you are one of them. It's a place you've only been once before. Walking in you see a group of clone troopers in your peripheral vision. Your eyes move to the floor, you can't bear looking at them. Besides glancing at your hooded figure they pay you no mind.
Sitting at a secluded booth you tap your fingers on the table. The bartender brings you a drink. The bar is mostly empty today which suits you just fine. It's nearly an hour before someone else arrives. It's easy to tell they're a scrapper from their attire. The scrapper brings a sizeable rectangular package over to your booth.
Pulling back some of the wrapping on the package, you inspect the contents. Well it's only one item, but it's exactly what you where looking for. After the scrapper collects his credits he leaves.
Omega, who is sitting on the bar, is watching you curiously.
"I wonder what that is." She says mostly to herself. This causes the rest of the Bad Batch to look over your way.
"It isn't our concern what's happening over there.", Tech states,"But if I had to guess it's probably some kind of weapon."
Omega watches as you peel the wrapper completely away. Omega tilts her head.
"That doesn't look like a weapon to me." She states.
"It still might not be the best to stick our noses in their business." Hunter tells her.
Wrecker laugh's,"If they start something I can finish it."
"No one was questioning that.", Hunter says with a smile. Tech pears back over to you.
"It looks like a regs chest plate." Tech points out. This turns all the clones attention to you.
"Someone is selling one of our dead brothers armor. Despicable." Echo says with venom.
You sit unaware of the Bad Batch's discussion. Placing your hand over top of dark blue hand print on the chest plate, your eyes water. This is it, the last piece of him that's left. You slump over, you cheek pressing onto the cold plastoid as the tears fall.
You barely get a moment of sadness until a young blond girl, Omega, scoots her way next to you.
"Are you ok?" She asks, sufficiently scaring the crap out of you. You pull the chest plate to you, gripping it hard enough your knuckles go white. The look you give her resembles an owl.
"W-what?" You ask confused. What's a kid doing at a bar?
"You just seamed sad.", She glaces to your clenched hands.,"Did you know who that belonged to?"
"I...", Are you really going to tell this kid, "I did. I used to stay up all night messaging him when he was away. He used to spend as much down time with me as he could.", You sigh deeply, "Then one day their was no messages. It wasn't until one of his brothers called me that I knew he wasn't just busy, he was gone."
"That's terrible. I'm so sorry." She says.
"You don't need to apologise.", You say with a half hearted smile, "War messes a lot of things up."
You both sit in silence for a moment. You pay your face dry. She tells you her name and you tell her yours.
"So, what was his name?", Omega asks. You lay the chest plate back on the table before answering.
"Echo. He had a tendency to repeat things."
Omega's mouth opens and closes.
"oh. Oh!" She says as she quickly squirms out of the booth. You finally pull your hood off to watch as she runs over to the group of clones at the bar. Fully looking at them, you notice how different they look. Omega bee lines right to the palest clone and grabs his flesh and blood hand. She very animatedly tells him something before dragging him over to you. He only mildly protests.
Standing in front of the booth Echo gets a really good look at you.
"I found him! I found your friend!" Omega blurts out excitedly, still holding the clones wrist. Your brain is slow to process her words. The clone is looking at you with his mouth hanging open. His eyes darting around your face, taking in your features.
"This is Echo!" Omega continues.
You want to believe her, you desperately do. This clone looks so different from the Echo you remember.
Echo's heart beats in his ears. It's really you sitting there. He swallows thickly. He tires to talk, but can't get any words out.
"Um Omega I don't know if-", you start, but Omega cuts you off. She pushes Echo down to sit next to you.
"I'm sure you both have a lot to talk about.", She says excitedly. Then runs off back to the bar to no doubt tell the rest of the clones what's going on.
Echo's eyes go to the battered chest plate laying on the table. It only takes a second for him to realize it's his old one. The hand print unmistakable. It dawns on him that you hired a scrapper to retrieve something of his.
"Sorry. I think I got Omega worked up." You tell him with a polite smile. You're still unsure about who this clone is. You can't help but stare into his honey eyes. Especially with him so close.
"You paid for this. You really paid for this?" Echo asks. laying a hand on the chest plate you answer.
"Yeah I did. I didn't really have anything of him left."
Echo places his hand atop yours, giving it a squeeze.
"I'm sorry." He mutters. You look at him in disbelief. Is he really?
"I'm sorry. I wanted to call you. I just." He tappers off. You bring your other hand up to cup his cheek. He leans into your touch automatically. His eyes closing. They shoot back open when your lips capture his own. He kisses you back desperately. You sigh happily into the kiss. It is him. Both of you are left panting when you pull away. Echo gives you a face splitting smile, which you wipe off his face with a firm slap.
"I can't believe you've been alive this whole time! Why the hell didn't you tell me?!" You chew his ass for a solid ten minutes. "No call or anything I swear!"
"I'm sorry! I know I can't say that enough. I just... I didn't think you needed to deal with", he gestures to his whole body, "all this."
"You're still alive. That's the important thing to me." You say in a softer voice. You got most of the frustration out for now.
"I never thought I would see you again." You say. Echo wraps his arms around you, pulling you to him. You arms find their way around his neck. Happy tears escape as you bury your face in his neck.
"I'm sorry. I don't ever want to leave you again." Echo mutters to the top your head.

YO YOUR ART IS FREAKING AMAZING!!!! Also, I gotta question: who exactly are Shank and Sketch? I’ve seen lots of art with them, but I don’t really know who they are. Whats their stories?
Adjaskldjdl THANK YOU! <3
OH! Um uh I have an explanation, I just need to gather my notes...where are they oh okay found them! And good grief, looking through old art punches you in the gut, lemme tell ya--
Alright, so this is going to sound a little crazy depending on the internet space/time continuum: Sketch is my first clone trooper OC that I used to play on a MU* type setting (or a text-based roleplaying game that was done in real time), a softspoken sniper who was like low-key anxiety, high-key will throw hands with you if you mess with him but otherwise a pretty chill dude. Also one of the more artsy clones who drew on almost every surface available, but thankfully that didn't get too out of control.
He was basically plugged into the existing clone battalions (212th, in this case) and I got some scenes in with him being...well, him. Of course, the game wasn't really teeming with clone troopers -- most were NPCs controlled by other players and DMs during event-related scenes so that everything was more or less interactive.
His story's pretty -- eh, I wouldn't say dumb, but what I did was dumb: I wrote his background to the tune of the 'Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' oh gosh how old is this now OH NO DON'T READ THE REST OF THE PAGE JUST FOCUS ON THE HISTORY--
AHEM. Although there are logs on his page, the game kind of disappeared and I just had A Lot of Thoughts Left Over because this happens to every single OC I create for gaming purposes. So I kept drawing him and Shank, a friend's clone medic who was also in-game because why not, let's have clonebros in the same company??? (Also Shank is older than Sketch by like. Ten seconds. And likes to pick on Sketch in that older brother kind of way while also worrying over him because y'know. That how it be.)
ALSO Also I know Sketch is a name already used for a clone trooper in-canon but I Forgot at the time and I guess it's like having several Bobs in a classroom. Although Scribbles is a close second. Wait did I say this already?
ALSO part II: any further stories I have with Sketch in general are kind of still stuck in conceptual brain land, one of these days I'll get back to it I HOPE THIS ANSWERS THE QUESTION aaaaa

I am adding information about other battalions that served in the Clone Wars that are likely to be mentioned at some point in the Vopak AU series, or have already been mentioned but are listed here due to new OCs being added to them. I will also list the clones serving in that battalion, I will note whether they are canon or my OCs. These are all canon units, but for ones whose name was not mentioned in canon, I have just given them a name (like I did with Depa’s battalion).
I will also be adding pictures of the Jedi lineages and their units as of the end of chapter 20 of I will carry you in a different post. All of these units and clones will be mentioned/seen in the pictures.

Writing Inside the Lines
There is a certain type of poem called a sestina. I've written two of them, and let me tell you, they are tough. Rather than relying on rhyme and meter, they employ a pattern of six words that end each line in the first six stanzas, and then end or are contained in the final three lines. The six words also change which line they appear in in each stanza. If that sounds complicated, that's because it is. However, sestinas are a great form because they force you to write a good poem. You have to end the lines on those words, which means you must construct your sentences carefully. Also, if you don't want it to sound repetitive, you had better play with the meaning and connotation of those six words. You can't noodle around. You can't slack off. If you're going to write a sestina, you really have to care about it.
I think this idea of writing with certain rules can improve most stories. Especially in a world oversaturated with shock-value, twist endings, and an anyone-can-die mentality, writing inside the lines, so to speak, forces writers to be careful. When writers must practice restraint, their stories are prevented from going over the top, flying off the rails, and all that other awful stuff that our media is so glutted with recently. They have to care, and their stories will be better for it.
One example of this is the storytelling in traditionally animated films or those that use practical effects versus that in CGI. While some CGI films do have heartfelt storytelling, there are hundreds more that are a waste of the data used to make them. And while there are some weird or awkward 2-D films, I feel like the ratio of good to bad is far higher than in CGI. As for practical effects, they almost always work better in their tone and feeling than slapping up a bunch of ritzy computer graphics because you can. Why this discrepancy? Because traditional animation and practical effects are more expensive and time consuming than CGI. Thus, the creators have to be darned sure that their movie really needs a specific scene or character or monster. These elements can't just be thrown in with CGI. The creators have to self-edit, which leads to a tighter story with less fluff and kibble crammed on.
Another example is in scary stories made for children instead of adults. Because there are certain expectations--like you can't have gore, or killers running around murdering extras left and right--writers are forced to come up with more detailed monsters and worlds, which leads to creepier or more in-depth stories. Compare, say, Coraline, to 90% of monster movie for adults. The Bel-Dame is similar to a classic folklore monster, in that she seems to have limitation--she has to actually lure children and coax them in, rather than just grabbing them and sewing buttons into their eyes. She isn't your typical semi-omnipotent adult movie ghost who can go anywhere and kill anyone for no reason, but that makes her scarier. We know what she's capable of, and it's way worse than just killing someone in the bloodiest way possible.
Knowing how a story ends is also something that's been on my mind lately, due to two shows in particular: Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Tangled: The Series. Both of these shows are part of larger franchises. Not only must they use the previously established characters and settings of those worlds, but both have a previously established ending. So how does that affect what the writers are allowed to do in these stories?
We all know how the Clone Wars end: Order 66, the fall of the Jedi Order, and the establishment of the Empire. This knowledge, however, adds to the tension of the series rather than detracting from it. Every time there is a scene of the clone troopers bonding with their Jedi generals, in the back of your mind you can't help but think of the Order 66 scene in Revenge of the Sith. It adds a nice, thick layer of angst to what would otherwise be a normal military adventure show. We also know that Anakin goes to the Dark Side and why he does, but now (unlike in the movie), we get to see that slow progression toward it. We really get to like him as a character, but every so often, he'll be a little too ready to force choke someone, or flip out about slavery, or freak when those close to him are in mortal danger. It's fascinating getting to see his gradual growth into a more Vader-like personality. And, finally, there is Anakin's apprentice, the fan-favorite Ahsoka Tano. She's in the show from its pilot episode, but she's not in the movie. So the question of what happens to her, and where is she when Order 66 goes down, is always present just offscreen. That's suspense! That's drama!
You also have Tangled: the Series, aka Rapunzel's Tangled Adventure, which is sandwiched between the movie and the short film "Tangled Ever After", where we see Eugene and Rapunzel get married. Thus, we know that her hair is going to get cut short again (it regrows magically in the pilot); so we can wonder and speculate as to how that's going to happen, now that her golden hair is back and unbreakable. We know that the main cast all lives, so the drama comes not from anyone-can-die, but from interpersonal relationships: Can this person be trusted? Will these people remain friends? Could any of these fallouts have been prevented? Perhaps the best part of this show's being a spin-off is what it does for the romance. Eugene and Rapunzel are in love at the beginning of the show, and they're in love at the end. We know this. Thus, we don't have any stupid "will they or won't they" or love triangles or anything. The drama comes from Rapunzel not feeling ready for the responsibilities of marriage (or princessing, for that matter), and Eugene wanting to settle down but still being patient and supporting her. It's one of the best romances ever written, and it's in a show for children. Maybe it's one of the best romances because it's in a show for children.
So the next time you are strapped for how to make your story more compelling, maybe impose a rule on yourself. How can you evoke horror without showing violence? How can you create a tense situation if you're not allowed to kill characters? How might showing the ending of a story first change how the audience experiences the rest of it? It might be a fun exercise, and it will almost certainly produce something better than mere shock value or twist endings could.

@swtorpadawan tagged me in this meme, and I am hella into it. This is my favourite musing bc swtor in the canon of star wars is fucking hilarious. On a side note, for anyone who does this and chose only one oc, but has thoughts about the others oh my god do and let me know. Im a snoopy bish give them all to me. In this case I’m going to try to keep it brief while covering my main four, Viticalia, Thomsyn, Belville and Montym. Partly bc I’ve been thinking about their dynamics for a joint Alliance Commander AU lately
This got really long, bc I couldn’t choose one, and Im a wordy bish, so I’ve put the actual answers under the cut, so as not to kill everyones dashes
What would your OC do if they were thrown through time and into Star Wars the Clone Wars:
1. Who would they fight for?
I think most of them would either end up going independent or siding with the Republic. Montym and Belville would actually be the most likely to commit to the Republic, they’re both two people who value loyalty and understand that sometimes things need to be changed from the inside out. Thomsyn I think would stay with the Republic, but may end up with the Grey Jedi. She isn’t inclined to this whole “just peacekeepers” deal and would want to take the fight to the Sith directly. Viticalia would be an independent, committing to neither except for who would pay her most, or just destroy the CIS and take her place at the top of it. She would not be willing to submit to being ordered around by Dooku, or lord forbid Grevious or Ventress, and she definitely wouldn’t appreciate Sidious being unwilling to step up on the frontline with his troops.
2. If not a force user, would they keep their job (Would a trooper still work for this new Republic and would an Agent be loyal to the Separatists?)?
Bel would probably make a play to join the SIS. And then immediately question how the SIS went from agents like Theron to seemingly having the capabilities of two people and paperclip. I’m just saying how did no one put any of the diddly dang dots together. He’d be the type to pull off an op and then basically drop it at the Jedi’s feet like “here, give me a job.” I’ll get into why he would go to the republic in a bit.
3. Who would they hate?
Vits would despise Dooku and Sidious. She would like Ventress but find her training considerably lacking. She understand some cunning, undercover work, and what it can do, that’s why she and Bel get along, but the lack of commitment to stand beside your men and fight with them is something she despises.
Thomsyn would have some problems with the way the Jedi, but she and Montym would both have a much bigger problem with Senate oversight. They’re both used to working with politicians, but the inability to work without that oversight would bother them. Neither of them think the Jedi are infallible, but they both have a big problem with the idea of needing politicians to greenlight things like humanitarian missions.
Bel would have a huge problem with the Jedi that he keeps under lock and key. Part of it would be due to Kothe. The other part is...well he’s seen what happens when Sith lead, he doesn’t really think the Jedi should be given military power for their ability with the Force either.
4. Who would they get along well with?
Bel would actually get along really well with GAR Specforces. I think he’d adjust pretty easily to them, and people like Skirata and Vau would be comfortingly familiar as Bel actually got along really well with Shae and Torian. And he would very much enjoy the troopers, he understands their mindset, and especially with the Commandos, they understand the importance of intel people like Bel are meant to provide. He’d also be all in to spar with the ARC’s, and hone his skills against theirs.
Montym would have had a romantic crush on Obi-Wan within five seconds of the man dramatically dropping his cape and that’s really all there is to it. He would also get along well with Senator Organa.
Like I said earlier, I think Vits would have liked Ventress, and probably tried to poach her as an apprentice in a damn second. Thomsyn I’m not really sure who she’d get along with best.
5. What would they think of the Jedi Order?
Viticalia has, and always will be fascinated by the Jedi in that sort of detached, research-esque way. Otherwise she doesn’t care about them much, although she does find it a bit amusing to watch some of them tout the ideals of the Republic as things go down hill. She at least never had any misconceptions about the Empire. Thomsyn and Montym sort of understand how the Jedi could have come under such heavy control of the Senate. They both would have hoped for better, but aren’t that surprised, not after Saresh.
Bel could not care less about the Jedi. Likes them well enough individually for the most part, but that’s his approach to any and all force users really.
6. What would they think of the “rule of 2” Sith?
Viticalia thinks its the stupidest thing ever. Probably starts taking on as many slightly sensitive people as she can and calls them her Apprentices just to piss off these new “Sith”. Really she’s just adopting herself a bunch of children, but it counts and that’s all she cares about.
7. What would they think of having a clone and droid army fighting instead of typical soldiers?
Bel understands what its like to be treated as less than a person. As an asset only. It’s still something he does to himself, thinking about himself as only an asset or a liability, which is a mindset Theron’s working on having him get rid of. So he would sympathize pretty heavily, which is part of why he’d go to the Republic. He’s turned the tide of a war and saved countless of his coworkers in the military before, he would try it again.
Viticalia and Thomsyn would have more practical issues with the idea a droid army. They aren’t creative, they can’t interpret, and they aren’t built for every situation. Thomsyn however would have a lot of problems on the legality of clones, whereas Vits is used to slavery and is prone to forgetting about how that works.
Montym thinks the whole idea on either side is terrible, for various reasons, but cannot stand that clones are not legal citizens but the Republic uses them anyhow.
8. If Republic - if they became a general in the army what would their relationship with their clones be like?
I think Montym would accept a position as a General, Thomsyn...maybe for a while. Montym is a little better with handling the cost of war, whereas Thomsyn counts on herself to keep everyone around her alive. I think they’d both be on good terms with their troopers, Montym would take a bit longer, he’s quiet and a bit...odd, but when he likes people he makes it clear. Thomsyn would get close to them quickly, and each death would hit her pretty hard.
9. If Imperial - what would they think of the complete lack of sith and excess of droids in the Separatist army?
Viticalia has soooo many problems about tradition with the way the Sith operate, but in particular thinks the CIS is...stupid. The idea of a civil war is fine, sure, but their execution is lacking. Bel thinks they’re stupid but also finds it very funny. Terrible tactics, questionable leadership, not a good spy in sight... but he also thinks the way the Republic has alienated so many of their own...well he’s seen it before with Imperial worlds, and after Saresh it isn’t surprising. He’s largely disillusioned and just wishes someone would learn from their mistakes already. Part of what would push him to join the Republic in this case would be that he values peoples lives a lot more than droids, and he hasn’t valued the Sith as leaders in a long time, so he has no reason to go to the CIS and as far as he’s concerned, Republics got the better chance.
10. Consider they were born in this era - where would they fit in Clone Wars canon?
This I’ve actually thought about this a bit. Thomsyn and Montym would be still pretty much the same, Jedi, although Thomsyn would not have joined the Grey Jedi in that AU as she would be more accustomed to what this Republic is like. Viticalia I would go with a Jedi who leaves the order eventually, simply because it would be really fun to explore a much more light-sided Vits. Bel’s a bit more difficult to place, in a society that doesn’t put as much importance on genetics and perfection, he would have the chance to do whatever he liked, which he didn’t in the Empire. In an au that follows his canon life a little better, he would probably join the SIS, but more likely as an anaylst or undercover agent, not as a sniper and agent.
Honestly time travel and born in that era, they’re def aus I’ve thought about writing

More revising. This is, I admit, my favorite of The Minstrel Boy series, with its changing dynamic, emotions—almost a respite from the war, but with some action and plot tying in.
Plus, Lassa Rhayme and her pirates.

Opportunity Born 2: Fulcrum Is Not Pleased
The silent watcher does his job. He watches the figure with the tall hood sit in a back corner and sip a nearly full drink. His eyes lock on the vigilant scanning the figure employs over the dozens of bar patrons of varying species and genders. He looks closer at the figure. To most observers, what the watcher can see of her face would be determined to be pleasing to the eye. More importantly for his purposes, her sharp blue eyes are clear and focused, but she seems to be alone. Waiting for someone. The watcher is as well. He brings a small device to his lips and speaks into it. He sits back to watch the chaos. A part of him feels remorse for what he has done. The beautiful woman happens to be at the wrong place at the wrong time. He needs to know that when the response comes, it will come swiftly. So that he can act. He watches and he waits. ~=~=~=~=~= Ahsoka Tano takes a sip of her Garelian mineral water and makes a face. She pulls her cowl up tighter around her cheeks, to hide the facial markings. She sighs as she shifts her hips on the hard synthwood of the booth. She smiles as she hears a voice in her mind. <i>There is enough padding there, Runt. You should be comfy enough.</i> She remembers her rejoinder when the owner of the voice had actually said it. <i>Are you saying my ass is big, Bait?</i> Her smile grows soft as she remembers his sheepish reply. <i>Never, Ahsoka. It’s a work of art. Or at least that is what my Mando relatives say. </i>The shared laughter had led to other joys and light. The joy and light of merely holding each other after yet another half-year absence. Of falling asleep together, without one having to stay on watch. The smile disappears. For about the hundredth time, she looks at her comm. She thinks of hitting enter on the console, to send the call to the commcode. The date blinks accusingly at her. One day before the eighth instance of Empire Day. Eight years and no closer to bringing the Empire down. No closer to organizing into a viable military force. Bail Organa, Mon Mothma, Draq’ Bel Iblis, even his son Garm - not known as the most patient of men, had all said it would take time. Time apparently slowing to a crawl. Time spent building, then watching it fall down around her, at least lately. Two cells had been compromised in the last six months. Cells no more than a few months old. While the numbers of cells had grown in the last few years, much more than even three years ago, when she and her hunt-brother had reconnected, they still could not afford to lose more. At least the segregation protocols were working. There had not been a cascade of falling cells, and the two that fell had been compromised months apart, and hundreds of parsecs. She shakes her head. Her thoughts on the date had not been precipitated by thought of the creeping certitude of rebellion. Or lack of certitude. Instead, it had been initiated by the thoughts of that same ‘Corellian concern’ and their connection. Today, the day before Empire Day was his thirty-third name day. Since she and Bryne Covenant, a Jedi once known as Taliesin Croft, had reconnected, they had only celebrated two name days together. One, her twenty-second, celebrated on a desert world of scavengers with whiskey, jerky, and ration-paste. The other had been his thirtieth. When responsibility owed to his world could have separated them from fighting together. Her quarter-century had come and gone a month or so ago, while she had been ensconced in a tiny attic, vetting a possible new cell. Her Force sense sends a lance of awareness through her skull. She looks up, just in time for a uniformed Imperial naval officer and a squad of stormtroopers to walk through the door. She instantly comes even more alert than she had been with the edge from her solitude at the forefront. Her eyes widen with a sort of recognition as she locks onto the face of the officer. A face with its regulation Imperial disdain. But one familiar to her from her time in the Clone Wars. From her second campaign. She sees a Republic naval officer laughing with her over hot chocolate, in a rare respite from their duties and the pain of the war. Laughter and love while discussing the officer’s beloved younger sister. Ahsoka begins to calmly scan the room for escape options. There are not many, as other troopers, both the fully armored Stormtroopers, and lighter armored Naval troopers take up positions in ones and twos at the other two exits. She closes her eyes and reaches out. The entire wall of bottles and glasses behind the bar falls to the floor in an earsplitting crash. Everyone in the bar turns to look. The operative makes her move, with the inborn athleticism of her people. With a little help from a mystical friend. She bowls over the fleetie standing at the furthest entrance. A touch of the Force and the woman’s blaster no longer works. She grins as she remember’s Croft’s patient teachings to a roomful of younglings. Including her. She starts to increase her speed to move through the back exit of the building. A feminine voice cuts through her hearing. “Halt!” comes from behind her. A blaster bolt where her head had just been punctuates the cry. So much for a stealthy exit. ~=~=~=~=~= Commander Rae Sloane curses as her shot misses the figure. She turns to the troops in the bar. “Go, dammit. Get after him. I want him stopped!” She follows her own command and charges for the exit, managing to step on the Marine lying on the deck. <i>Stupid jarhead, </i>she thinks. She rolls her eyes. <i>You might want to rephrase that, Rae, my dear. For the next two months, you are one as well. </i> She curses again, this time directing her vitriol at her detailer, who had sold her on the idea of enhancing her career in command of a Marine security battalion on some Outer Rim hole. A hole with a sector’s Imperial Currency Reserve. Just after two others had been relieved of a great deal of hard currency. She can just see the cloaked and hooded figure at the furthest reaches of her vision in the twisting, narrow streets of the small town. A part of her realizes that she has left her stormtrooper detachment behind. Her own fleet troopers are nowhere to be found. She pushes forward, recalling her cross-country honors from her childhood on Ganthel. In the time when she could participate in sports. <i>Less patting yourself on the back, Rae, </i>her sister’s beloved voice says. <i>Okay, Jae, </i>she automatically replies. As if her sister was not eight years dead in the stars around Coruscant. In the back of her mind, she wonders about the anonymous commtext she had received. Telling her it might be worth her while to be in that bar with a few of her armored friends. She listens to the earpiece of her comm. Apparently other detachments had received similar hints to other locations. No others were chasing anyone, though. Her eyes widen with realization. She keys her comm. “All units move to the Reserve. Move to the Reserve, now!” She debates about turning away from her pursuit. Rae realizes she can no longer see her pursuer. She stops, breathing hard, but not panting. She shakes her head and starts to turn away. As she takes a step back towards her troops, she feels air displace around her. She turns to see a dark gray blur striding towards her. The blur leaps, the booted feet striking Rae’s shoulders. The figure follows her to the ground. Rae twists and sweeps her attacker’s legs from under her. The thug lands on their ass, a muffled ‘oof’ sounding as air explodes from lungs. An exclamation with a decidedly feminine sound. The woman leaps to her feet after only a half second on her rear. Powerful orange arms in bracers come up, when the sleeves of the robe fall. She assumes the stance. The Imperial gets the impression of a high hood, and powerful blue eyes from the full face concealment. Rae feints, then ducks under her opponent’s swing. The second feint from the opponent connects with Rae’s jaw. Her breath explodes from her lungs as a third straight punch connects with her abdomen. Rae doubles over, but quickly explodes upward with a high kick. The woman reels back, but Rae sees her place her left foot back to maintain her balance. Stars explode in Sloane’s head as the woman’s forehead connects with the officer’s. Rae realizes she is on the ground, staring up at the sky. The Imperial tries to move, but cannot, as it seems she has forgotten where her legs were. She notices the woman hesitating before fleeing, looking down at the young officer. She looks the woman in the eyes. She sees an odd light in the woman’s eyes. Something like regret. Rae strains and turns on her side. She shakes her head as blood streams from her forehead. When she looks up, the woman is gone. Rae slumps back down to the ground as she hears the booted feet of her reinforcements. She feels the bile rise in her throat. The troopers arrive just as she heaves into the dirt. ~=~=~=~=~= A ratty looking tooka cat watches as Ahsoka vomits into a corner. The tooka is not impressed that she is Fulcrum, intelligence whiz of a nascent Rebellion. A sharp meow cuts through Ahsoka’s senses. The tooka rubs against her side. <i>Might be more impressed now, </i>Ahsoka thinks. She reaches down and scratches the tooka's ears. A low purr sounds from the animal. In a lightning move, the tooka swipes at her hand, then runs away. Ahsoka sighs at the three new wounds on her arm. Above the bracer, of course. “Typical,” she whispers, thinking of her love-hate relationship with the two stray tookas that Dani Faygan’s adopted daughter had brought home. She reaches up and touches the single akul tooth in her headdress. Ahsoka wipes her face, the bile, snot, and blood staining the sleeve of the robe. Blood is oozing from her nose, and lips; streaming from her forehead. She stands and pulls a small flask. She manages to smile as the whiskey burns down her throat. As well as the lip wound. She looks at the flask for an instant. A flask she had lifted when she had last seen Covenant. Months ago. She puts her forehead against the wall. <i>Why the hell didn’t you just use the Force and get it over with?</i>She opens her eyes. <i>Is it because of what her sister meant to the owner of this flask? What she meant to you, the one time you met her? </i>She straightens and tries to force the memories away. She turns and starts moving as fast as she can to the port. Ten minutes later, she is standing before an older CR-90 in Corporate Alliance colors. The Captain of the vessel greets her stiffly at the ground elevator. He eyes her disheveled appearance with what looks like disdain. “Fulcrum,” he says. A brief smile quirks one side of his mouth. “Let’s get out of here, Captain Sato,” she says, not bothering with niceties. He nods. “What about your meet?” “It was a bust. Might’ve been a setup. Stormies crashed it,” she says. His eyes narrow with concern. “Once we’re away, there is a priority transmission for you.” His next words warm her, unaccountably. “From Advocate.”
