This is the Buddy for February 10th. It's Pinhead! From Hellraiser. He's a Cenobite, baby!
That was a fun movie. Directed by Clive Baker, the renaissance man of horror. Books, movies, illustrations, videogames, he does it all. Good stuff.
The drawing isn't that great, unfortunately. I wanted to make it clearer that the cigarettes were symmetrically connected to his face like pinhead's nails, but, well, that felt a bit too hard.

Alright now i've finished Azran Legacy, so i feel like i can finally make a side blog for Layton stuff so i can post about it without feeling like im bothering people on my main one lmao Just gonna dump all my recent art here (warning for spoilers for Unwound Future and Miracle Mask sort of)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And then this Clive i drew after having watched someone play through Unwound Future and realizing Clive is so much worse of a person than what i remembered from playing it when i was younger lmao + old art of him i made from around 5 or 6 years ago, you can probably still find it on the Layton amino somewhere lol
Tumblr media
I'm glad i finally played through the prequel trilogy, because for some reason i just never got around to that back when i was really into the series, AND despite having owned a copy of Miracle Mask for like 3 years since i found it at a con for very cheap

Midnight Pals: Funny Ducks
Alan Moore: [appearing in a clap of thunder] Poe: the arch magus! King: the arch magus! Moore: i have a story to tell Moore: submitted for the approval of the midnight society, i call this the tale of the sinister ducks
Moore: it's a song about ducks Moore: but it's not simply a song Moore: it is also a warning Moore: be afraid, foolish mortals, for the sinister ducks are coming Moore: watch the skies!
Alan Moore: Everyone thinks they’re such sweet little things! Moore: Soft downy feathers and nice little wings. Moore: But there’s a poison I’d like to administer Moore: You think they’re cuddly, but I think they’re sinister! Moore: Ducks! Ducks! Quack-quack! Quack-quack!
Moore: Ducks! Ducks! Quack-quack! Quack-quack! King: Koontz: Lovecraft: Poe: Barker: so uh Barker: what exactly are you trying to accomplish here
Barker: what the hell was that Poe: clive Poe: if the arch magus wants to sing a funny song about ducks Poe: you just let the arch magus sing a funny song about ducks Koontz: i liked it Poe: yes dean Koontz: i liked the part with the quacking! Poe: yes dean
Barker: are we supposed to be scared of ducks? Scott Baker: ducks?!? ducks?! Baker: [panicking] did someone say ducks?!? Poe: calm down scott Poe: there aren't any ducks Baker: [nervously] are you sure?? Baker: cuz ducks can be Baker: quite sinister!
Barker: what the hell was that about Moore: it's a song about ducks Moore: foolish mortals, you fail to grasp the unearthly power of this piece Moore: i'm thinking of sending it to dr demento Moore: i think it could even make the funny five
King: alan would you consider jamming with the rock bottom remainders Moore: foolish mortals, the arch magus is no mere singer of trifles! Moore: the auric emanations of this song sigil contain a mighty power Moore: equal or greater to that of a spike jones or even a stan freberg!
Moore: can you not feel the psychic vibrations of the great weave echoing in its departed notes? Moore: [lightning crackling from his fingers] truly i am the most powerful song sigil warlock of all! King: King: so King: is that a no on a rock bottom remainder jam session?
Moore: rock bottom remainders? Moore: impudent fool! the arch magus does not deign to perform for the pleasure of mere gut pluckers! Moore: this power… requires a proper display… Moore: just wait til i headline at FuMPFest!!!
Moore: this song sigil is as powerful as any cast by the mages of old Moore: not even the great warlock weird al yankovic could cast a spell of such magnitude! King: whoa whoa whoa alan careful there King: don't say something you can't take back

Here's the second set of team members for the Professor Layton playthrough. Like before we have Luke and this time he's joined the Clive the stubborn Imp, Alfendi the Cautious Scientist, and Lucy the Energetic Cleric.

I binged the Shadows House manga and decided to at least make designs for a Professor Layton AU
Tumblr media
This isn't all of them. There's 12 more characters lined up for designs.
There isn't exactly a plot yet because I can't decide on a main character. However, I have come up with a few things
Flora is in Oliver/Ollie's place in the AU. She gets to be a plot important mad scientist. ^v^
Lucielle picked up Lucy's optimistic impulsiveness and tendency to see the best in people but none of her braincells. And her soot power is making arrows like in Mystery Room.
Alfendi is Placid Prof, and Al is Potty Prof. They barely tolerate each other. Alfendi's soot power is like the crime scene reconstruction in Mystery Room via picking up on traces of soot, but it has a roughly 24-hour time limit due to the house cleanings and leaves a big mess after. High soot emission, not much practical use.
I haven't fully figured out Katrielle and Miles' personalities, but I think it'd be funny if they clash while Kat and Ernest have a weird friendship going on.
Haven't thought of much for Luke and Clive yet
Also, I realized while drawing that nobody in the Shadows House wears a hat. Plenty of hair pieces but no hats.

Some Signs That You Have Watched a Lot of "Jane Eyre" Adaptations.
You complain why the actors and actresses of Jane and Mr. Rochester look gorgeous when the novel says they're not physically attractive.
You complain why the scenes about Jane's childhood are shortened or skipped.
You argue whether the script of "Jane Eyre" adaptations should follow what the novel says or have many creative liberties.
You complain why the scenes with the River silblings are shortened.
You tend to agree that "Jane Eyre" adaptation is suitable being episodic more than being a movie.
If you're a woman, you admire or fall in love with Mr. Rochester despite his flaws.
You tend to argue which Jane and Mr. Rochester is the best or favorite.
You talk about how much Jane and Mr. Rochester's chemistry has in the scenes.
You started to get used to the appearance of Jane and Mr. Rochester. What matters is their acting.
You believe the more passion that the Jane and Mr. Rochester actors have, the better the acting.

"And Quaid knew, meeting the clown's vacant stare through an air turned bloody, that there was worse in the world than dread. Worse than death itself.
There was pain without hope of healing. There was life that refused to end, long after the mind had begged the body to cease. And worst, there were dreams come true".
