You showed me that being a hero isn’t just for people who can fly or shoot lasers out of their hands: it’s for anyone who’s brave enough to do what’s right, no matter the cost.

Hi:))
I would like to request a prompt with Kate and Yelena.
I really don't know how it would turn out but I think the "does he know about the baby" one would be really interesting, partly because I can't imagine a conversation like that between Kate and Yelena.
I really can't wait to see what you're going to do with the pairing and the prompt.
A/N: Hi!! 🥰 Thank you so, so much for the request!! This one was so hilarious to write and honestly such an unexpected pair that I had to throw in a few more people than I usually do with my prompt list sends lol 😂💖
I hope you enjoy!!! 🥰
Original Prompt List
Word Count: 2.5k+
“Kate has something she needs to tell you,” Yelena told Natasha solemnly, looking to Kate with an uncharacteristic gentleness. Kate took in a deep breath, and Natasha looked at her carefully, wondering what her youngest sister had to tell her.
The both of them had found Natasha, a strange air surrounding them as they had explained to her that they needed to sit down with her for a little while. Natasha had been immediately concerned, and she had more than readily gone along with it, wondering what was going on.
It was odd that Kate would tell Yelena first, but Natasha did not question it, simply happy that Kate and Yelena were growing closer in something akin to a sisterly relationship.
“What’s wrong?”
Kate was quiet for a long few moments, and Yelena looked at her expectantly. Natasha could not help but feel nervousness building within her. She had a feeling that something was off, but she was not sure what the problem was.
Yelena finally nudged her and Kate flashed her a short glance before gazing at Natasha to meet her eyes.
“I’m pregnant,” Kate stated.
Natasha did not say a word, just staring at her.
The suddenness and the shock of the announcement was all so quick upon her that she almost thought that she had not heard her correctly.
“What?” Natasha asked, hoping that she had somehow misheard.
“I’m pregnant,” Kate stated, just looking at Natasha with her lips drawn in a thin line.
Natasha blinked, taking it in.
Her instant reaction was horror and concern for the girl. She had no male person in her life that could have reasonably been the father, so it left Natasha instantly thinking the worst.
Apparently, the horror and the dark assumptions actually showed in her face, and Kate shook her head quickly.
“Don’t worry, it isn’t because of anything that happened in a bad way,” Kate instantly assured her, looking at Yelena as she wordlessly asked for some manner of reassurance. Yelena nodded to her encouragingly.
Natasha felt a sense of relief overcoming her, but then there was a definitive twinge of something almost irritated. However, she held herself together, deciding she would ask some questions and hear her out.
The entire thing seemed almost like it was not real, but she figured that Kate would never try to trick her about this, so she went along with it.
“Whose baby is it?” Natasha asked, handling it all remarkably calmly considering how baffled that she was at the moment. She maintained a steady tone, and Kate seemed slightly calmer as she started to answer the redhead.
“Umm… It’s some guy,” Kate trailed off, looking down at her hands, and Natasha took in a breath, starting to ask her about the finer details of who exactly some guy was.
“Some guy?! You told me it was Barton’s!” Yelena cried indignantly, looking at her with surprise.
Kate instantly froze, her eyes wide and her entire body completely suspended as she seemed to completely have a system error.
Natasha’s jaw instantly slackened, and she felt just as horrified as Kate looked at the moment.
This was her second shock of the day…
At the moment, the both of them looked absolutely traumatized and Natasha could not believe that this had actually happened. She could not even think through the entire thing logically.
However, she now definitely thought something did not seem right about this. She would have instinctually thought that the whole thing was a prank, but Kate seemed so utterly terrified when Yelena had thrown out the news. That coupled with Natasha’s shock and horror was enough to keep her from fully questioning it and the suspiciousness ebbed.
“Look, she did the deed, now she needs to claim the property that comes with it,” Yelena stated, sounding tired, and Natasha was honestly so shocked that she could not even fully consider what Yelena had said.
“The important question is does he know about the baby?” Yelena asked, and Natasha was still reeling as she gaped at Kate blankly.
Natasha could barely even hear Yelena’s words at this point because of the blood rushing through her ears. Kate was looking at Natasha with equally as much panic, and Natasha felt her mouth going dry. She was not sure if she was angrier at Kate or Clint for this, but she could feel the agitation rising within her. She was going to be probably madder at Clint if he had actually given into Kate, but she was going to be quite mad at Kate for pursuing it so hard as well.
To her credit, Kate looked like she was actively having a mental breakdown as she continued to just stare at Natasha in utter mortification and terror. Her mouth was moving, but she could not get any sound to come out.
Kate finally looked at Yelena, shaking her head as she looked at her, and Natasha presumed that must have been the answer to Yelena’s prior question.
Natasha reached for her phone, withdrawing it from her bag as she looked down at the thing and started looking for Clint’s number where it was on speed dial.
Kate finally managed to speak as she saw Natasha pulling out the phone.
“Wh—what are you doing?” Kate asked, and Natasha shook her head slowly, feeling the anger settling deep within her as she prepared to completely chew Clint up and spit him out.
“I’m calling Clint right now. He’s going to find out about the baby and we’re all going to have a very serious discussion,” Natasha proclaimed, the boiling fury starting up underneath her skin. She was going to murder Barton when she got her hands on him, but for right now, she was going to have to settle for killing him with words.
“What baby?” Carol questioned as she entered the room alongside Darcy. Natasha sighed deeply, still focusing on calling Clint. She put it on speaker as she waited for him to answer.
“Kate Bishop is pregnant,” Yelena announced solemnly.
Darcy and Carol both froze just behind the couch, staring at Kate in complete shock.
“What,” Darcy started, just trailing off. Kate shook her head, raising her hands to try to calm the other girl down.
“Darcy, it’s not what it sounds like—”
“You told Yelena first?!” Darcy demanded.
Carol just remained completely stone-faced as she took in the entire thing. She was starting to look like Natasha had when she had first heard the news.
“I thought I was your best friend?!” Darcy demanded, her eyes wide as she gaped at Kate with utter betrayal in her gaze.
“And it’s Barton’s baby,” Yelena added in unhelpfully, and both Carol and Darcy gasped in utter horror.
Natasha growled under her breath as Clint did not answer the first time. This was only serving to take away any doubts she had about the entire situation. Why else would he avoid her call?
Carol was actually rendered speechless for once in her entire life, but there was no such luck where Darcy was concerned at least.
“CLINT FREAKING BARTON’S BABY?!!!” Darcy screeched, and Carol was still standing there with her mouth hanging open, not saying anything at all as Natasha dialed him again. He was going to answer at some point.
“Darcy, listen, don’t—”
“What happened to telling each other everything?!!! You’d be the first to know if I was full-on preggers with Thor as the baby daddy!” Darcy cried, positively beyond reason, and Kate shook her head quickly, doing her best to try to placate her somehow.
Carol seemed to snap out of her stupor at that moment, and she wrinkled her nose in disgust at the glasses-clad woman.
Before Carol could make any sort of comment, Clint picked up, and Yelena shushed them all as his voice came through.
“Hey, Nat… Sorry I missed you the first time. Was,” he took in a deep, tired breath before letting it out, “out working on the tractor. Thing’s busted again.”
“Natasha, please, don’t—”
Yelena reached her hand up, covering Kate’s mouth, and Kate’s eyes went wide as Yelena stared straight at Natasha, far too much interest in her eyes. Natasha, however, largely ignored the both of them, her mind concentrated on the man on the other end of the phone line.
“Do you have anything that you want to tell me before we get started?” Natasha asked patiently, a thin veil covering the fury that she was feeling right now.
How dare he betray Laura like this? How dare he impregnate Kate Bishop who was not ready for a child at this age? How dare he act so irresponsibly and stupidly when he knew better?
There were a few moments of dead silence, and Natasha remained quiet, giving him time to confess what had happened and the truth about him and Kate. He was completely quiet, but he finally spoke up.
“Nothing’s coming to mind… What’s wrong?” he dared question, and Natasha clenched her teeth before launching right in.
“Well, Kate came to talk to me and guess what she said?”
Kate shook her head, starting to try to interrupt, and Yelena shushed her once more. Kate glared at her, her nostrils flaring slightly, and Carol furrowed her brow, looking between the two as she finally managed to get with it.
“What? Kate? Is she okay? What happened?” he asked, a definitive note of heavy concern coating his voice as he asked about the girl. Natasha narrowed her eyes, irritated with his audacity to pretend like he did not have some clue about what Natasha was getting at.
“She’s pregnant.”
Clint was completely dead silent, and Natasha took that to mean that he knew he had been caught in whatever secrecy he had going.
“Y’know, Clint, kids do stupid things, I get that. But a married, grown man with kids and an amazing marriage going and throwing it all away because of a starstruck young girl, I don’t get that,” Natasha sternly informed him, nothing but icy chill in her voice as she addressed him.
“What are you talking about?” Clint questioned, sounding utterly and completely in shock.
“Stop playing dumb!” Natasha broke her cool, and everyone shifted a bit uncomfortably, not accustomed to Natasha actually being angry like this. Even Yelena looked a little bewildered at how fast things had escalated.
When Clint spoke back up, there was a definitive patience and comfort in his tone as he sounded almost as if he was trying to talk Natasha down from some sort of invisible ledge.
“Natasha, I’m not playing dumb or trying to pull one over on you or whatever, okay? I’m genuinely confused about what’s going on—”
Kate started to try to speak, and Yelena raised her hand to cover Kate’s mouth. However, just as she did, Kate suddenly licked her hand, spit coating her hand. Yelena instantly drew her hand back in complete disgust as she started wiping it furiously on her pants.
“I’m not actually pregnant!” Kate cried, interrupting everything.
Everyone froze, Clint wordless as he listened over the phone, and it was then that Natasha spotted the expression on Yelena’s face and was able to fully take it in. Yelena looked as if she had been caught doing something, and it was the expression she always got after a prank had been discovered in a manner not to her own advantage.
Furthermore, Kate’s prior horror at the beginning of this conversation was actually starting to sort of morph into something akin to intense guilt as those gorgeous gunmetal blue puppy-dog eyes showed themselves.
“What?” Natasha questioned. Her voice was impassive and level like the calm before a storm.
Honestly if this turned out to be a sick prank that Yelena had thought of— she knew Kate would never come up with something like this and had likely been roped into it somehow— she was going to kill her sister. Unfortunately for Yelena, it was looking a lot like a prank given what Kate had just said…
“Now, Little Bishop, don’t start trying to go into denial… It is what it is, and—"
“No. I don’t want any part of this prank. This isn’t what I agreed to. We said it was going to be a random guy, not Clint. Not somebody we could hurt with this,” Kate told her firmly.
Yelena just looked shocked that Kate was actually standing up to her like this. Somehow, Kate’s heroic side had come to play and had given her the courage to more fully defend herself against Yelena.
Kate looked at Natasha apologetically.
“I’m not pregnant, okay? It was a big prank that Yelena thought of, and I promise you, if I knew it was going to go in this direction and snowball like this, I would’ve never agreed. I had no idea she was going to say it was Clint’s baby, Natasha, and I’m sorry that we put you through this,” Kate expressed, and Natasha felt herself softening to Kate somewhat, the girl’s sincerity clear.
Kate would never lie to Natasha, and it was not that Yelena necessarily would lie, but Kate had a special sort of trustworthiness. Mostly because she had an awful poker face so Natasha could read every emotion like an open book.
Yelena sighed deeply, some guilt shining in her own eyes as she slowed down from the high of the fun and the drama that she had caused. She seemed to realize that she had taken it a bit too far this time, and she looked at Natasha, their eyes meeting.
“Prosti, sestra.”1
Yelena looked over to Kate, offering her an apology as well.
“I’m sorry, Kate,” Yelena said gently, and Kate nodded to her. Yelena looked at her, their eyes meeting as Yelena offered an almost sisterly softness that was just a bit beyond the words that she had uttered.
Her eyes hardened to their usual expression as she looked back in the direction of the phone.
“And I’m sorry to you, too, Barton,” she raised her voice just a bit so he could hear.
“It’s alright,” he replied simply from the other end of the line. Despite the shortness of the phrase, the words carried an acceptance and a definitive relief.
“I’ll call you back in a few, okay? Proshu proshcheniya za pospeshnyye vyvody. Eto bylo nechestno po otnosheniyu k vam,”2 Natasha apologized to him.
“No worries, Nat. Talk to you in a little bit.”
As soon as Natasha was off of the phone with Clint, she looked straight ahead at Yelena, readying herself to give the younger woman a tongue-lashing for putting everyone through such things. Kate was going to get a bit of a lecture herself, but she was going to get off somewhat easier than Yelena because she had not intended for such a big mess.
But before she could even get started into the rant, Darcy suddenly spoke up.
“This is great news!”
“How is our imminent punishment good news, Marcy?” Yelena questioned, purposefully getting her name wrong as she referenced that one Peanuts character. Darcy was so relieved and happy that she could not even think about the fact that Yelena had called her that.
“Our friendship isn’t totally a lie!”
Everyone around her just groaned tiredly.
(1) "I'm sorry, sister."
(2) "I apologize for hasty conclusions. It wasn't fair to you."

Clint: How are they both this bad at dating?
Nat: It gets better.
Nat: (reading again) I have never been so attracted to hair before, is it the hair or her? It is obviously her, what am I meant to do? Oh she sent another selfie.
Nat: (laughing) We're entering capslock now
Clint: She knows where the capslock is?
Nat: (reading) IT IS A SHOWER SELFIE. WETT HAIR? HOW AM I MEANT TO??? NATASHA HELP ME.
Clint: Kate just texted
Nat: What happened?
Clint: (reading) I think Yelena hates my hair?? She's mumbling in Russian and hasn't blinked in 3 minutes can Natasha come and help?
Nat: Oh no, she's too horny to function
Clint: Please can we go see her to bully her about it later
Nat: (standing up) what else were we gonna do?

Last To Know
Kate: I’m always the last to know everything.
Clint: That’s not true.
Kate: Yes, it is. I was the last to know about Bucky AND Sam falling off the roof and landing in trash. I was the last to know about Peter accidentally wearing his suit backwards. I was also the last to know about Y/N's crush on Natasha.
Natasha: What?!
*Y/N's face goes red*
Kate: Oh. Looks like I was second to last.
Yelena: Kate Bishop, if I were you.... I would run

Part One | Part Two | Part Three | Part Four | Part Five | Part Six | Part Seven
The black wax seal on the three-hundred-dollar bottle of whiskey had left a filmy residue against the mouth of the glass. It gave the warm drink an oaky edge that helped you swallow it down. The first sip had burned through your nostrils and down your throat until it lit a fire in your belly. The second seemed to extinguish the first.
You’d kept drinking until there was a pleasant buzz across your skin. You’d rolled your pantlegs up to the middle of your calves until the fabric was constricting and swished your legs around in the dark water of the pool. The scent of chlorine mixed dangerously with the bergamot undertones of the alcohol.
The moon was full and gave you a full encompassed view of the backyard and the edge of the lake lapping at the rocky shores. If you squinted, you could see the dots of red and green as buoys molded to the tides. Fishing boats navigated their way to the docks, their rumbling alerts shaking your chest.
You lifted the crystal glass to your lips and took a deeper gulp. It was warm and unpleasant but eventually ebbed to a cynical type of comfort. You placed the glass to the side and worked your fingers numbly through your hair. They ached incessantly. Your body wasn’t built for this anymore.
There was a soreness to your jaw and the underlying taste of metal that coated your throat. Before you’d walked into your shared home, the redness had started to grow a nasty, ugly purple. I’d certainly be swollen in the morning, even if you had pressed a bag of frozen peas to it.
It was a cycle. A vicious one that you’d endured for the past ten years. You were a blade in Natasha Romanoff’s toolkit. To the city, you were a composed and elegant viper; deadly when you bit but often found wrapping yourself around the arm of Eve. The crowd parted for you. Politicians groveled and clients smiled uneasily, in a scared sort of kindness.
With a groan, you laid yourself back on the patio stones and stared up at the stars. They pockmarked the sky in constellations that threatened to spin until they turned to lines of warbled light. You’d had too much to drink, and too little to eat. You’d lay here until the light in your bedroom flicked off and you could sneak in smelling of booze.
Of course, you heard your wife approaching.
When you’d first met Natasha Romanoff, you were enveloped in eternal darkness, beaten within an inch of your life. The sound of her footfalls in heels beat against your eardrums and had caused you to jerk your head up with dizzying quickness.
Now, you could pick up noise of her bare feet padding delicately against dew-soaked grass and then leaving uneven prints against the stonework. Her scent was inky and doused in sandalwood. Something that typically brought you a wave of comfort served as a catalyst for nausea.
“If you’re going to get drunk on a Tuesday night, darling, maybe an expensive bottle of whisky is not the right avenue.”
“Mm,”
The hum tickled your throat. Natasha had lowered herself to the edge of the pool next to you, delicately dipping her feet into the warm water. Her perfectly manicured fingers pressed cooly against your forehead before carding through your hair. You sighed contentedly and leaned into her touch before you registered that you were supposed to be mad at her.
“It works all the same. I’ll replace it.”
“No need. It was a thoughtless gift from Leland Owlsley after he behaved like a prick. It’s been aging for nearly a decade now.”
You made a noise that was akin to a whimper. Maybe you had underestimated the strength of the drink. Not that you would ever admit that to Natasha. You became malleable when you were drunk, and who better to work forgiveness out of you than your wife?
You draped your arm over your eyes, slurring out “Do you know the legend of Excalibur?”
Natasha scoffed, and when she didn’t give you a verbal answer, you peaked over your arm, finally getting a look at her. She was in nothing but her silk robe, the emerald green a sharp contrast to her pale expanse of skin. It had been years, and she still rendered you speechless.
She relented and shook her head, full attention trained on you. Often, you would dive into the books that lined the walls in Natasha’s study. They were leather-bound and filled with different mythos that she hadn’t read herself.
Sometimes, you would regale her with the stories of fantastical worlds that stuck with you. Of dragons that heaved heavy helpings of fire, and sea serpents that brushed their gills along the ridged edges of boats. Natasha would curl into your side, her ear pressed against your bare chest as your words lulled her into sleep.
“The blade was said to be forged with the blood of seven dragons. Each one breathed a green fire that was hotter than brimstone, and stronger than the very core of the earth. The blade, it wasn’t meant for just anyone. It may be mighty, but it’s nothing without a guiding hand.”
You hilted yourself up until you were resting all of your weight on your elbows, the rocky patio digging into your bones and stinging enough to keep you focused. Natasha had turned her head, resting her cheek on her knees and blinking slowly at you.
“For centuries, the blade was wedged in stone. Though many men tried and tried again to dislodge it, the sword would only budge for someone who was worthy, and that was Arthur Pendragon. The two worked together for decades, warding off evil, and protecting a kingdom that eventually, they came to rule.
“Arthur was considered the greatest king in Avalon’s history and served until he became too old to do so. Excalibur was not meant to be wielded by another, nor buried beneath the earth with it’s master. So, Arthur set off on his longest journey yet.”
Natasha swallowed hard. Her fingers twitched, eyes glowing under the pale light of the moon. She looked ethereal, and the snake in the pit of your stomach coiled tighter with want. You were meant to be upset with her, but the tenderness in her posture gave away her vulnerability.
“He used the last of his strength to travel across the kingdom, through vast forests, dark caverns, and steep cliffs until he crawled his way to the edge of the lake of youth. Now, stories start to differ here. But, in each, Arthur returns to sword to the ladies of the lake, determined to protect his old friend. The only one that’s ever stuck by him.
“Some say Arthur took the hand of a young siren and allowed himself to be led into the cold water. Others proclaim that he disintegrated into dust when the hilt of the sword left his hand. Either way, he was never seen again, and neither was the Excalibur.”
Some of the warmth from the whiskey was wearing off and a chill had settled against your bones. Your fingers itched to pour more of the dark buttery liquid into the glass. Natasha had moved them from your grasp with all the subtly of a god.
So, in turn, you focused on the glassy look in her eyes and willed yourself to sit up, swallowing the oaky taste in your mouth. The world spun around twice before stabilizing on the done light at the edge of the pool.
You felt a lump form in your throat, outweighing the heated effects of the alcohol. You made it a habit not to cry in front of your wife, and she rarely ever gave you a reason to. But the tensions had been swirling wickedly for months now.
“Nat,” you whispered, “sometimes I feel like I’m just your sword.”
The argument had broken out on the way home from the city. The night was a certain type of darkness that allowed the milk-white stars to shine through. It was balmy and the air conditioner whirred enough to curb the dampening interior.
You knew it was stupid to let a small thorn in your side rip and tear at your flesh until a gaping hole was left in it’s place. Your knuckles were throbbing, and a pack of peas were pressed against your jaw where a hit had landed.
You’d stepped in front of Natasha and grabbed the handle of a steak-knife and aimed it towards the ground. Your wife hadn’t even blinked, and you had no doubt that she would have misdirected the attack from the charge herself.
It was easy to strike fear into the dishwasher that reached towards whatever he could find in an act of defense. You grasped what little hair he had on the back of his head and held him under the soapy water, letting the sanitizer cling to your lungs with it’s citrus edge.
You’d gotten the money like the good loan shark you were and Natasha had pressed her fingers to the small of your back in acknowledgement before swaying off the car. You’d exited through the back, dripping with bubbles.
There were times when the weight of being Natasha Romanoff’s wife weighted you down like a pile of bricks. She was a good partner within the walls of the house. She’d pull you against her front and lean her head against your shoulder, her cold fingers wandering under the fabric of your shirt.
There were expensive bottles of wine, and perfect cuts of meat. Quiet nights where you were tangled under the covers, whispering soft nothings. Louder nights where your back was arched and stars danced across your vision.
All of this changed when you moved past the threshold of your cultivated life. You’d married Natasha knowing good and well that her family, your family, was going to be dysfunctional. The ledger for the Romanoff’s dripped a cherry red.
You were meant to be her sword, her Excalibur. You stood a few inches behind her, arms tucked behind your back and stare cold with disinterest. Though, you paid apt attention to each movement her company made.
Years before, you had been nothing but a waitress with a high pain tolerance. You’d let Natasha mold you into the weapon that you were, and most of the time, you were content with this arrangement.
The scent of bergamot tickled your throat as she moved closer with disquieting patience. She’d withdrawn her feet from the pool and straddled your center. Her weight was familiar, but the tenderness in her stare was often hidden by her walled disposition.
You grunted, staring up at the sharp curve of her jaw and the slight flush against her cheeks. She’d been in the sun today, freckles giving her away. Her nimble fingers brushed a strand of hair behind your ear and played with the gold charm in the center of your necklace.
“Darling, you know the problem with that legend?” You shook your head, hands going to the familiar place on her hips. “The Excalibur was crafted long before Arthur was around to wield it. The fates saw him fit because of the amount of care, and love he had for the sword.”
A sigh escaped you, “I thought you didn’t know the legend.”
“Oh, everyone knows the legend.” She danced her fingers against your collarbone, your body betrayed you with goosebumps and a suppressed shiver down your spine. “But I will be the first to admit that I’ve been unfair to you.”
You blinked up at her in shock, stilling your movements. Natasha Romanoff was as stubborn as they came and never admitted to being wrong. There were moments where she tentatively agreed to a different course of action, or quietly concluded that Clint would take the lead during situations that required a softer touch.
“While I am in constant awe of your ruthlessness, I am well aware that the woman I married has a soft touch. You were a waitress bringing in tips with your dazzling smile, after-all.” Her fingers were brushing dangerously close to the hem of your pants. You felt your muscles contract under her. “I apologize, moya lyubov', for making you feel as if you are nothing but a weapon. To me, you are so much more. To me, you are everything.”
Her words became whispered against your jaw in the slightest of warmth. Your pulse thudded against your throat and her tongue pressed close to the rhythm. You groaned softly and arched upwards. Your entire body was flushed with arousal.
A salacious moan escaped her. “Do you forgive me, malyshka?”
“Mm, you’re playing dirty, Nat.”
God- you’d forgiven her even before she had uttered the words of apology. Now that her perfectly curved fingers were pushing past the waistband of your pants, you were ready to rush out whatever she wanted to hear.
“Perhaps. I mean what I say, the mere thought of you being unhappy shatters me.”
Her lips were everywhere, plush as she kissed against the corner of your lip, breathing out apologies between each nip. Natasha trailed down your jawline, your pulse-point and the curves of your chest. Her breath was molten as if fanned against your skin.
Suddenly serious, she pulled back, bracing her hands on your shoulders. She held you down with little effort, strength pulsing through her exposed muscles. You swallowed the dryness in your throat and let out a shuttered whine.
“It was never my intention to make you feel inadequate. You may be deadly, molded under my hand to protect this family with everything you have, but first and foremost, you are my wife. We’ll make sure everyone knows it. But first, I need to hear you say it.”
“Say it?” You felt the pressure build in your chest, her palms digging into your collarbone. It was a satisfying sting that made you writhe under her heavy hand, you narrowed your eyes. “Really? Right now?”
Natasha flushed, pulling herself into a sitting position. “Not that, y/n. Don’t start something you don’t intend to finish.”
“Oh, you mean forgiveness. Kinky.”
“krasivo, pozhaluysta”
She wouldn’t dare beg in anything less than her native tongue. Natasha’s voice was gravelly, her eyes boring into yours with a desperation that usually was reserved for silk sheets and hazy mornings. You hated seeing her like this, clawing for affection that she so rarely asked for. Your heart seized, and you maneuvered yourself until you were in a sitting position, holding her flush against you.
Natasha tucked her nose against the small of your neck and nothing short of nuzzled you. Her disposition had crumbled and her fingers wicked into the fabric of your shirt. You held her close and listened to her breathing as it mingled with the shift of water.
There were moments, few and far between, when the calls got too close, where she would do this. Just sit and embrace the sound of your heartbeat. She kept her ear against your chest and counted the minutes. You carded your fingers through her hair and embraced her amenability.
You lifted her chin until her eyes met yours, reflecting the sweeping of the chlorine saturated pool. Her bottom lip was jutted out in an almost pout. You resisted the urge to kiss the expression off her face.
“I forgive you, Natty.” You whispered against her lips, “I’ll be your Excalibur.”
Natasha scoffed and closed the minute distance between you both. The kiss was soft, her lips tasting of the lingering liquor on your own. Her arms encircled your neck, tongue begging for entrance. You felt a frown on her features, she suddenly pulled back.
“Are you insinuating that you’d rather be with a lady of the lake?”
“Nat,” You groaned, dropping your head.
“No, no, I can totally take you to the wharf if you want the other woman.”
“There is no other woman, it was a metaphor.”
“You could have chosen a metaphor without a siren, and you know it.”

“That’s your password?”
Darcy & Kate
A/N: Thank you for the request! Gosh, I love these two bozos 😂💞 They're just the craziest, lol 🤣💗
I hope you enjoy! 🥰 Feel free to send in more requests from this list!
Word Count: 1.1k+
“But if the egg came before the chicken, that almost has like an atheist point of view, right?”
“How exactly is that?” Darcy asked, complete confusion written in her tone.
“Because if you’re going by the Bible, God created chickens and animals and stuff first so they were ready to procreate and make babies and eggs and things,” Kate explained, and Darcy furrowed her brow, dumbfounded as she looked at the taller girl.
She finally shook her head in resignation.
“Y’know, I don’t know how we get into these weird conversations,” Darcy stated tiredly, and Kate chuckled, shrugging.
“I don’t know either, to tell you the truth,” Kate grinned.
“And it’s always the philosophical ones, too,” Darcy raised her eyebrows incredulously. Kate moved her head noncommittally before casting her another glance.
“But are you truly friends if you don’t get into frequent philosophical debate?” Kate questioned, and Darcy looked at her for a moment before chuckling.
“That is true,” Darcy pointed out, and Kate smiled widely.
Currently, Darcy and Kate were headed to Darcy’s office. Darcy had said she had something to show to Kate, and she had wanted to her to come see. When Kate had asked if it was a surprise, Darcy had agreed, saying that it was something like that.
Needless to say, Kate was very excited and eager to see what Darcy was going to show her.
They rounded the corner, reaching Darcy’s office door as they paused before it. To Kate’s surprise, the door was password-protected.
Darcy typed the password in. Darcy then tapped “enter” once she had finished up, looking at the door as she waited for it to open.
Kate quickly realized that it spelled out the words hotforthor, and she almost laughed, looking at Darcy curiously.
“That’s your password?” Kate asked, and Darcy narrowed her eyes as she glared at her, pointing a finger at her best friend as she eyed her.
“Look, don’t judge, okay?” Darcy warned, and Kate raised her hands in self-defense, attempting to placate her friend.
“I didn’t say a word!” Kate cried in reply, and Darcy nodded resolutely.
“Good, because I could point out the fact that your password is certainly not the most appropriate, all things considered,” Darcy acknowledged, and Kate shook her head, thinking of her own password that was HaWkEyEsBaE.
“Hey, no one would guess mine,” Kate declared, allowing a bit of pride to show through. Darcy huffed, raising her eyebrows as she opened the door, starting to move through it as it opened for her.
“Well, Clint Barton probably wouldn’t. As for the rest of us that know you’re crushing hard, it’d probably be one of the top three guesses on our list,” Darcy admitted, and Kate did not have much to say to that, some embarrassment flooding her.
“Hey, what were you wanting to show me again?” Kate questioned as they entered the room. Kate looked around, taking in the sight of Darcy’s personal office.
She could not help but wonder why it was password-protected. She supposed it was likely because Darcy had delicate experiments and whatnot in there, but she still was not entirely sure why Darcy had experiments stuffed in her own personal space.
She figured it was probably best that she did not ask.
“I never told you,” Darcy deadpanned in reply, and Kate nodded in resignation.
“Yeah… I was hoping maybe you’d forget that and slip up,” Kate admitted, and Darcy grinned, looking back at her.
“Don’t worry, you’ll see soon enough,” Darcy told her, and Kate sighed deeply, impatience bubbling within her.
They got a little further into the room, and Darcy finally stopped next to a strange-looking machine. Kate took her cue, pausing with her as she looked at Darcy expectantly. She was honestly not sure what Darcy was about to say or what was going to happen, but she was going to wait it out and give her a chance.
“Okay, so you know how you were really wanting that limited edition of that Hawkeye figure that sold out, right?” Darcy asked, and Kate moved her head in tentative agreement.
“Yeah…?” Kate agreed, the ending of her statement lilting in a question, and Darcy nodded to her.
“Well, this right here is the answer to all your problems,” Darcy stated, patting the machine that they had stopped next to. Kate just stared at it, confusion in her gaze as she offered it a onceover before meeting Darcy’s eyes uncertainly.
“Umm…. Okay,” Kate trailed off, and Darcy looked at her for a moment.
“You don’t know what it is, do you?” Darcy asked in a manner that was more of a statement, and Kate nodded in resigned agreeance, her face somewhat awkward as she looked at her.
“It’s a 3D printer,” Darcy stated simply, and Kate’s eyebrows raised in surprise.
“Oh!” Kate instantly lit up in recognition, and there was far more interest written in her features as she looked more closely at the device. She leaned down a bit, trying to examine the machine more closely.
“I just got it the other day. It’s state of the art, brand new tech, and I wanted you to be the first person to use it,” Darcy expressed, and Kate just stared at her in shock, her jaw slackening as she gaped at the shorter girl.
Darcy grinned a little, enjoying the look on Kate’s face as she chuckled. Kate looked between her and the printer.
“Really?!” Kate excitedly cried, and Darcy shrugged, happiness swelling in her chest at Kate’s joyfulness.
“Well, yeah. Who better to break it in than my best friend?” Darcy stated, a bit of shyness in her voice as she uttered the last part of her question. Kate’s eyes softened, excitement still in her gaze despite the affection clearly glowing within her.
“D… You’re the best,” Kate expressed, opening her arms as she moved toward her to wrap her in a hug. Darcy easily received her, reciprocating the embrace as she smiled in reply to Kate’s words.
“Nah… you’re the best,” Darcy shrugged, and Kate squeezed her tightly, her head pressed against her before finally letting her go. Kate beamed from ear to ear, and Darcy grinned back at her.
Kate let out a deep breath, looking at the machine as she examined it.
“So how do you work this thing?” Kate asked, and Darcy looked at it for a moment, mentally evaluating it before turning away and reaching in one of her drawers. She pulled a document out and held it up to show Kate.
“I don’t know. But I’ll bet these will be a good start in figuring it out,” Darcy confidently stated, waving the instructions in her hand.
Kate huffed with amusement, and the both of them got to work, starting to figure out the device together.
Kate truly was so lucky to have a best friend like Darcy.
