Every year the human brings a tree into the house and covers it in sparkly, dangly toys. But the flips out any time I go near it or try to play with the toys! And forget about trying to climb the tree; you know, the thing meant for climbing.

I love to go outside omg. I haven't been able to go outside bc 1. My mom barely lets me 2. It's been really cold. But I went to my friend's house yesterday and I was so excited‼️ they had like kind of a wooded area in the back and we started to build a den/house type thing and we got to climb trees‼️ I was so happy I love being in nature I can never go😩 but we're hopfully gonna go more often now!!

Okay, hear me out on this one. And try to think like an artist or a photographer. Here goes: The Southern Live Oak Tree is like the Grand Canyon. You’ve raised your eyebrows. Now, let me explain. The beauty and the majestic presence of a Southern Live Oak Tree is as impossible to capture on film or canvas as the Grand Canyon is. You have to experience them both in person to truly see their magnificence. I saw these young girls climbing on a low hanging limb of a Live Oak while Robin MacBlane and James Peronto and I visited Stephen Foster Folk Culture State Park. The girls are probably younger than 10 years old. The tree is easily over 100. It's a climbing tree. There were quite a lot of climbing trees. I didn't climb them. In case I fell off, broke my leg, and needed a companion to fetch help. So who is going to be my climbing tree companion? That's not a question for everyone. There's also fields, woods, the river, and generally a stunning little area I didn't know about. I will go back even without a companion and will write there. The last three weeks of my life were full of change and transition, which really set off my anxiety disorder. I became very fearful—I had a hard time sleeping, and my body constantly felt like it was getting ready to run or fight. When I had a hard time regulating my physical responses, this type of meditation practice really helped me. I finally feel up to drawing again, so this is the first thing I wanted to post upon my return. I hope this is helpful to someone out there! 💛

🌱✨ Sometimes, the best way to reconnect yourself with the earth is to get yourself all dirty!! ✨🌱

What I like to do when I’m sad and in need of a pick-me-up is go back to my roots (pun intended!). Do something that you really enjoyed in childhood, or watch a movie that reminds you of childhood!

I like to go on walks and climb trees, or draw and paint, or watch an old Disney or Studio Ghibli movie!
