I want to say that the Cleveland Museum of Art is the poster child for how to open up an arts and culture institution in the middle of a pandemic. From the minute I bought my ticket online to walking through to get my temperature taken to getting my ticket validated I felt safe. The galleries are set up perfectly. I’m here at Senior hour with all of my favorites and more beautiful art that I hadn’t seen before . They e really made it a pleasure. I left when it started to get a bit more crowded but overall it was a flawless experience. The guards are so sweet and happy to see you. They are grateful you’re here and it shows. While I was there I saw one of the guards just sweetly point at his mask to a women who had hers underneath her nose. So easy. She complied immediately. No fuss. The Impace of Archives

Archives connect people to the wider collective memory. They connect families, protect the rights of citizens, renew our lands, and can save lives. Access to trusted information is vital to democracy. As Veterans Day nears we share a letter from Ens. Sherman Lee to his beloved wife, Ruth, during WWII. Dr. Lee went on to become one of the most influential art historians of his era, and director of the Cleveland Museum of Art for 25 years.

The last Infinity Room in this exhibit is my very favorite, The Souls of Millions of Light Years Away (2013). Most of you already know, but for those who don’t, I’m obsessed with space and what lies out there for us to discover. When I was young I desperately wanted to be an astronaut (really, I wanted to be the first artist to create off-planet art, but ya still gotta be an astronaut first,) but then I found out how much math was involved and moved on to other dreams. However, I never lost my love of the stars; to this day, I eagerly devour news items regarding freshly-discovered facets of our universe and humanity’s ventures into space, and my sincere hope is that we develop into a species that has sustainably expanded beyond our home system. Standing in this Infinity Room gives me a little taste of what it must be like to be drifting in the endless expanse of space, surrounded by soft velvety darkness and endless glittering stellar bodies. I don’t have many words to describe this; honestly, even days later, the sensation of this Room... feeling the diffusion of my cognizance into the illusion of neverending existence is still present within my mind and soul.
