Predicting the first 12-team College Football Playoff selection committee rankings
The first College Football Playoff rankings will be revealed Tuesday night (7 p.m. ET), and once again I’ll be using my projections model to try to predict how the selection committee will rank the teams each week. I’ve studied metrics that have been valued by the committee in the past, and after some guess and check, I found a formula that tested well compared to the actual rankings. There are…

Jimbo Fisher
Tumblr media
Physique: Average Build Height: 5'8" (1.73 m)
John James "Jimbo" Fisher Jr. (born October 9, 1965) is a former American college football coach who most recently served as the head coach of the Texas A&M Aggies from 2018 until 2023. Prior to that, he led the Florida State Seminoles to a BCS National Championship victory in 2014.

Taking a real look at Jimbo… I want to fuck him. Makes me wonder why I didn’t watch him when he was at FSU. Oh I know why, I hated FSU, which is surprising because I wanted to fuck Bobby Bowden. Now that I think about it, Bowden did have a hot coaching staff. Fisher of course, I remember wanting to dump a load on Chuck Amato’s chest, Mickey Andrews looked like a good fuck and what can I say about Brad Scott. Anyway, now I’m going to pay more attention to Jimbo from now on.

Born in Clarksburg, West VA, Fisher attended Liberty High School. Fisher initially attended Clemson University to play baseball before going to Salem College (now Salem University) in Salem, West Virginia where he played quarterback under head coach Terry Bowden from 1985 to 1986. Fisher followed Bowden to Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama for his final season.

Lets see… twice married, Jimbo married first wife, Candi in 1989 and have two children together, Ethan Fisher and Trey Fisher. After a messy and expensive divorce wear we find out she cheated on Jimbo with at least two guys (college football is a dirty game), Jimbo married his younger second wife, Courtney Harrison Fisher in 2020. Good for him. Hope he's laying the pipe constantly to keep this one.

AJ’s Analysis: Week 1 Postview⚡️
Raiders at Chargers: Los Angeles wins 22-10
Disclaimer: I am a Chargers fan so this will obviously be biased BUT I have been a football fan for the last 12 years and absolutely love dissecting the game and making comments so I figured I would give this a try! Please feel free to make comments and let me know your thoughts in my inbox!
How did my players to watch do?
Los Angeles
Justin Herbert QB- Oregon- Year 5🩵
Threw for 144 yards 17/26, 1 TD no picks. Solid game, nothing flashy nothing crazy. Honestly he could’ve played better but he hasn’t played real football in 9 months. For once he didn’t have to break his spine in half and still lose. He was carried for once I love this!!
*Do need him to play better and this offense to start clicking a little better this week though…
Cameron Dicker Kicker- Texas- Year 3
3/3. He was perfect. No notes.
JK Dobbins RB- Ohio State- Year 5
10 carries, 135 yards, 1 TD. Great debut by that little sweetie. I’m a fan.
Joe Alt RT- Notre Dame- Year 1
Tumblr media
I mean…
First game as a RT and he respectfully ate and put shut down a first team all pro when it was time. Crosby was wreaking havoc otherwise. Extremely bright future for Joe!!!
Khalil Mack EDGE/LB- Buffalo- Year 11
3 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 1 pass deflection and 2 qb hits. Solid start for him and the entire defense.
Joey Bosa DE/EDGE - Ohio State- Year 9
Joseph. Anthony.
Best defensive player on the entire field yesterday. 7 tackles, 1 sack, 1 TFL, 2 qb hits. Incredible all the way around and I’m so excited for him to get back to his game wrecking ways in his prime at Ohio state.
*fun fact he’s honestly one of the reasons I started watching the Chargers in the first place his rookie year but they sucked real bad so I couldn’t commit fully but here we are, full circle.
WR Room
They did their best. Ladd is great, had a TD making two or three people shake themselves out of their cleats. QJ honestly did his thing, hope this year is more successful. Josh Palmer I hope gets some opportunities to show what he’s capable of. Overall the offense wasn’t incredible so I’m expecting this group to make some adjustments this week.
Las Vegas
Gardner Minshew QB- Washington State- Year 6
Thew for 257 yards 25/33, 1 TD, 1 INT. Looked solid coming out but was quickly stifled by the offense and struggled immensely.
Davante Adams WR- Fresno State- Year 11
5 catches 57 yards. Virtually invisible. Shouldn’t have been so worried about the Chargers social media team.
Brock Bowers TE- Georgia- Year 1
6 catches 68 yards. Honestly forgot he was on the field, sorry.
Maxx Crosby DE- Eastern Michigan- Year 6
5 sacks, 1 sack, 1 TFL and 3 qb hits. Messy but wreaked havoc. Terrible man though.
Christian Wilkins DT- Clemson- Year 6
4 tackles, no sacks, no QB hits. Also forgot he was on the field for bit. Joe Alt the 21 year old rookie had him and Maxx in hell.
Other notes
- Defense got stops when it mattered
- Offense looked lost at first but started to look competent towards the end
- Establishing a solid run game is important to open up the field for Justin to air it out and make some big plays BUT they do not need him to take over to win games which is very important
- Vibes were IMMACULATE pregame, during the game and postgame I loved every second!!
1-0 onto week 2!!

Since the founding of the United States, politicians and pundits have warned that partisanship is a danger to democracy. George Washington, in his Farewell Address, worried that political parties, or factions, could "allow cunning, ambitious and unprincipled men" to rise to power and subvert democracy. More recently, many political observers are concerned that increasing political polarization on left and right makes compromise impossible, and leads to the destruction of democratic norms and institutions.
A new study, however, suggests that the main threat to our democracy may not be the hardening of political ideology, but rather the hardening of one particular political ideology. Political scientists Steven V. Miller of Clemson and Nicholas T. Davis of Texas A&M have released a working paper titled "White Outgroup Intolerance and Declining Support for American Democracy." Their study finds a correlation between white American's intolerance, and support for authoritarian rule. In other words, when intolerant white people fear democracy may benefit marginalized people, they abandon their commitment to democracy.
The World Values Survey data used is from the period 1995 to 2011 — well before Donald Trump's 2016 run for president. It suggests, though, that Trump's bigotry and his authoritarianism are not separate problems, but are intertwined. When Trump calls Mexicans "rapists," and when he praises authoritarian leaders, he is appealing to the same voters.
Miller and Davis' paper quotes alt right, neo-fascist leader Richard Spencer, who in a 2013 speech declared: "We need an ethno-state so that our people can ‘come home again’… We must give up the false dreams of equality and democracy."
Tumblr media
Ethnic cleansing is impossible as long as marginalized people have enough votes to stop it. But this roadblock disappears if you get rid of democracy. Spencer understands that white rule in the current era essentially requires totalitarianism. That's the logic of fascism.
