« One party enacts Confederate Heritage Month, the other agrees Confederates were treasonous. One party aims to destroy the Voting Rights Act, most members of the other party want to restore the Voting Rights Act. A leading figure of one party believes there were “personal” benefits to slavery; the other party rejects the notion that enslaved people benefited from being in bondage.
The 2024 presidential election isn’t a choice between the lesser of two evils. Trump’s plans are to return to the anti-immigrant priorities of his first term and to institute a future dictatorship, among other reprehensible policies.
I can assure you that Black voters are paying close attention, and they won’t be duped. »
— Clay Cane, journalist and author of the forthcoming book The Grift: The Downward Spiral of Black Republicans From the Party of Lincoln to the Cult of Trump, writing at CNN.
Mr. Cane was prompted by polls allegedly claiming that racist and birther Donald Trump is making gains among African American voters.
He reminds us of recent history...
The same storyline was exhaustively covered in the 2022 midterm election, as countless outlets reported that Biden and Democrats were flailing with Black voters and that Trump-backed candidates were breaking through. Back in 2012, there were reports that President Barack Obama was struggling with Black voters. He would go on to earn a larger share of Black voters than any presidential candidate in the modern era. I’ll say what some political strategists have avoided mentioning: polls don’t tell the whole story. They’re the crystal balls pundits turn to when the news cycle slows. Bad headlines may sell newspapers and garner clicks, but some polling methods are famously flawed and there’s a long history of surveys underestimating Black support for the Democratic candidate.
Yeah, remember the polls predicting the red wave of 2022? It turned out to be a red spritz. 😆
Hanging around with Kanye West doesn't mean that Trump has suddenly become an icon of racial justice. He takes after his father Fred who was arrested at a KKK riot and discriminated against black people in apartment buildings he built and managed.

The Grift: The Downward Spiral of Black Republicans from the Party of Lincoln to the Cult of Trump
Part history and part cultural analysis, The Grift chronicles the nuanced history of Black Republicans. Clay Cane lays out how Black Republicanism has been mangled by opportunists who are apologists for racism.

Review: The Grift: The Downward Spiral of Black Republicans from the Party of Lincoln to the Cult of Trump by Clay Cane (and Floundering February)
The Grift: The Downward Spiral of Black Republicans from the Party of Lincoln to the Cult of Trump by Clay CaneMy rating: 3 of 5 stars Since this is Black History Month, I decided if the Libby app could get this book to me, I would read it. Well, listen to it. They had the audiobook. Clay Cane did his narration. As important as the information in this book is, I found it like any history book. It…

Unleashing Creativity: Crafting Kaleidoscope Murrines with Raw Polymer Clay
Introduction
Polymer clay (arcilla polimérica), an incredibly versatile medium, opens the doors to endless creative possibilities. From intricate jewelry pieces to home decor items, this pliable material can be transformed into unique works of art. In this blog, we will delve into the exciting world of kaleidoscope murrines, a technique that combines the beauty of murrines with the enchantment of kaleidoscopes. What's more, we'll be using raw polymer clay to bring this captivating craft to life.
What Are Kaleidoscope Murrines?
Murrines are intricate patterns created by stacking and compressing thin layers of polymer clay in various colors. These patterns resemble cross-sections of multicolored glass canes. When sliced into thin rounds, they reveal astonishing designs that can be incorporated into a variety of artistic projects.
A kaleidoscope, on the other hand, is an optical device that produces ever-changing visual patterns through a series of mirrors and reflecting objects. Combine these two concepts, and you get kaleidoscope murrines— intricate murrine patterns arranged in a way that creates a visual experience akin to looking through a kaleidoscope.
Materials Needed
Various colors of polymer clay (raw polymer clay is recommended for this project).
A clay-cutting blade.
A rolling pin or pasta machine.
Parchment paper.
An oven or clay-dedicated toaster oven.
An acrylic rod or texture roller (optional).
Protective gloves (optional).
Steps to Create Kaleidoscope Murrines with Raw Polymer Clay
Step 1: Preparing the Clay
Start by selecting a color palette for your kaleidoscope murrines. Raw polymer clay is an excellent choice for this project because of its soft and pliable nature. Knead and mix the clay colors according to your preferences until you achieve the desired shades.
Step 2: Design Creation
Roll out a uniform sheet of clay in one color onto a clean work surface covered with parchment paper. Then, add layers of other clay colors in the pattern you desire. You can use an acrylic rod or texture roller to smooth the layers and eliminate air bubbles.
Step 3: Compress and Form the Murrine
Once you have stacked the clay layers, tightly roll the clay sheet into a cylinder. This will compress the layers and begin forming the murrine design.
Step 4: Slice the Murrines
Use a sharp blade to cut thin slices from the murrine cylinder. The more slices you cut, the more patterns you'll have to work with in your kaleidoscope projects.
Step 5: Bake the Clay
Follow the manufacturer's instructions to bake the raw polymer clay (arcilla polimérica cruda). Typically, it is baked at a temperature of around 230-265°F (110-130°C) for 15-30 minutes. Be sure to adhere to the specific time and temperature recommendations for the brand of clay you are using.
Step 6: Unleash Your Creativity!
Once your kaleidoscope murrines have cooled, they are ready for use in your projects. You can create beautiful jewelry pieces, home decorations, or even experiment with making actual kaleidoscopes.
The possibilities are endless when it comes to working with kaleidoscope murrines and raw polymer clay. Feel free to mix and match colors and patterns to achieve unique and stunning results. Your imagination is the only limit!
Conclusion
Kaleidoscope murrines (murrinas para caleidoscopio) offer a fascinating way to combine the beauty of murrines with the visual magic of kaleidoscopes. By using raw polymer clay, you can create intricate and colorful patterns that will transport you to a world of limitless creativity. Are you ready to explore this exciting technique and take your polymer clay projects to the next level? Start your creative journey today from CucuArt

Cracked open my dollar tree polymer clay and LET ME TELL YOU that was a journey. There is nothing online about this except for a few reddit posts, so I was mostly on my own. And I mean there was ZERO directions on that packaging
I saw a few people testify the clay was tacky/degraded in water, I did not find that to be the case. This may point to this clay being leftover batches from whatever brand polymer clay, thus varying from batch to batch. Idk, zero info online
The clay was pleasant and workable, and I shot for fimo temps to be on the safe side, about 260°. Once baked the clay was still flexible and satiny, all in all not a bad clay for beginners.

was going through my old stuff and found old art
This was an owl I made back in 1st grade this was before we were allowed to use tools and had to use our hands like barbarians 😂
This was a drawing I did in 2nd grade. Obviously my art has greatly improved. This was a drawing I did of Hershey chocolate world I also drew out my name from the picture.
This was a construction paper/paint art project in 6th grade. Had to spell out a 3 to 4 letter word with construction paper with painted prints on. You can also see the glue stick stains on the project.
These drawings I did in 8th grade around 2 years ago. This was when art really started to pick up for me and I started developing my own style and ideas. The second project we had to draw only original ideas overlapping each other. A lot of these ideas I just made up on the spot but the one cat girl in the bottom was an oc I had made I actually thought about redesigning her and adding her to my world

Not enough people think about Neil "The Puppeteer" Lagorio and Gabriel "The Worker in Clay" Lastname. Not enough people think about how Neil loved puppets so much he created a system for his caregiver to puppeteer him through the motions of daily life. Not enough people think about how Gabriel sculpted a "face" which was the "face" of his friend, but the "face" was a door. Not enough people think about how Neil was so brilliant at puppetwork that he was able to spin threads from his fingers. Not enough people think about how Neil stopped doing Claymation after splitting from his partner Gabe. Not enough people think about Annabelle and Neil being friends and Neil being probably killed by Annabelle puppeting him through a beautiful 5 month long dance.
I like to think Neil would've emerged from that cocoon of harness and thread one day. Maybe he was the "Spider" in "The Tragedy of Francis", then again, Neil was not a cruel man.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
