A classic early view of a D8xx Class 42 'Warship' hydraulic.
Saltash, on the Devon/Cornwall border, sees D802 arriving in. Think the bus visible on the right might be a Bristol Lodekka.

What about BR Class 42 "Warship" D829 aka Magpie?
the 42s kinda reminds me of pugs
its a same that British Railways decided that diesel hydralics were non standard, although there other issues with the 42s. (their body shells didn't leave enough room for new equipment)
Not my favorite engines, but they deserved better.

I got this lovely Warship class today!
She came in a bundle with the Y7 and I've wanted a Warship for a while now so yeah :3
#ttte#trains#real life trains#model trains#ttte diesel 10#diesel 10#d818 glory#fun fact: glory (the engine the model is based on) was meant to be preserved at one point#sadly it got accidentally destroyed while being stored at swindon works#(they were demolishing the works and forgot to check that everything had been moved out)#some of its parts were used to restore the other surviving warships so its not totally depressing i guess?#still sucks tho :(#class 42#british railways#british rail

.
GUYS IM CRYING This is so beautiful 🥹❤️
⭐️The official time-skip hero ranking⭐️
Aoyama is Hagakure sidekick
Koda is Shoji sidekick
Sato is Wash sidekick
Camie is either Inasa or Shishikura sidekick
So there not in the ranking
Also turn out the kid from Chapter 429 name is Kouki Terumoto and his quirk is darkness, so hear me out…he become Tokoyami intern
Bonus: I’m still going to ship these two, cause now I have more reason to: not only are they low together in the rankings despite having powerful quirks, and they fought All for one causing him to shake a bit just by their presence but they both are wingman’ 💥🐦⬛

⚠️ ACROSS THE SPIDER VERSE SPOILER ⚠️
I just realised that in the first movie, the spider that bit Miles WAS GLITCHING!!! Hinting that yes, it’s a spider from another dimension
#atsv spoilers#across the spider verse spoilers#flashing lights#I thought it was just an artistic choice back then to make the spider glitch 😭#update: I went to watch atsv for the second time#during the spot explanation about how he got the 42 spider#there was a split second of 42 miles appearance 😳 it was from behind and he was in the middle of clas#it seems that the 42 spider was in 42 miles’ class (probably about to bite him) when he was suddenly taken to our miles’ dimension#I MIGHT BE WRONG THOUGH since the spot’s flashback is in black and white (I suspect it was 42 miles bcs of the hair silhouette)#across the spiderverse#spiderverse

The leaks leave me so confused tbh
Ochako isn’t raising her pinkie to avoid floating Deku during that leaked reconnection moment and she wasn’t wearing the gloves that would make that unnecessary. (Also, people are saying it’s the last panel of the epilouge, yet it doesn’t have the usual ending box.)
Jirou has both her ear-jacks in some of the leaks and some characters are missing scarring. There’s one panel where Bakugou’s hand is drawn from an odd angle that lowkey does not look good posing wise (Horikoshi is usually a GOD of drawing and posing hands, so I legit thought that was a fan drawing, until someone said it was apparently a leak?) Also, Todoroki’s face looks like it changes in structure between some of the leaks, but maybe I’m just imagining that?
Then there’s Deku rejecting Bakugou’s offer to join his hero agency so he can keep teaching. It feels like yet again he’s copying All Might to his own detriment, because even if he likes teaching, his arc, focus and drive has always been heroism. All Might becoming a teacher was because his whole thematic purpose was to pass the torch on that would lead everyone into a brighter future. Deku’s motivation has always been to save people as a hero. Furthermore, even if you don’t ship BakuDeku, they have always been thematically tied as heroes.
“Win to save and save to win.”
Wasn’t the whole point of Deku’s narrative was that he was going to destroy himself if he kept going it alone? Yet, he’s pushing Bakugou away after everything is done (Kirishima apparently even jokes that Bakugou got rejected/dumped? Probably not an accurate translation but STILL-!) Izuku feels flanderised, borderline OOC. Bakugou looks so fucking sad and resigned too. I want better for him as a character I watched grow over the years as I read the manga.
To clear things up, I ship BakuDeku, but I wasn’t expecting canonicity.
My problem is that I love platonic IzuOcha. Maybe a part of my reason for liking them was projection, but that’s what media is about. Enjoyment, interpretation and discourse. I can only speak to personal experience.
I lost a friendship with a guy as a young gay girl because people kept joking/insisting I liked him romantically. I pulled away like Ochako did, doubted my sexuality and tried to convince myself the awkwardness was butterflies, before finally coming back to sense. I did not get my friend back after things broke down. I yearned so bad for subversion, for a platonic IzuOcha that overcame the silliness (implanted by a girl who shipped All Might and Midnight because they stood next to each other during the Sports Festival and All for One’s literal spy at the time) to become best goddamned friends and great heroes. It just felt like Ochako didn’t think of Deku like that until someone else said it to her (very much teenaged behaviour).
I initially loved the reconnection scene as their friendship being cemented, as them drunkenly coming together to realise they missed each other. I thought it was so sweet and I was so HAPPY. I read it as drunk but platonic.
Then people kept saying this confirmed IzuOcha canon romantically. I fell down a rabbit hole. I ran through a gambit of all sorts to shitty emotions before I regulated myself to write this.
I’m tired and confused, my dudes. I’m going to stick to my little corner once I got this out. I got exams to prepare for, life to live and a loving girlfriend to hug. Still kinda upset, but my weird, autistic, gay ass can heal.
Stay hydrated and healthy x

BONUS:
6. Glory
Glory was a Class 42 warship that was saved by the staff at Swindon Works after it was withdrawn. It was repainted into its original green livery by the works staff, and was moved to a quiet part of the works in hopes of someone preserving it. Unfortunately, Glory was accidentally destroyed during the demolition of Swindon Works in the 1980s, having never moved under its own power after being withdrawn.
Here's a list of engines that nearly got saved, but got scrapped anyway :(
1. Ben Alder
Ben Alder was built in July 1898 by the Highland Railway of Scotland. It worked uneventfully for many years, before being withdrawn in 1953. It was meant to be restored, along with several other vintage Scottish engines, but these plans fell through. It was moved around various depots and yards before being scrapped in the late 1960s.
2. Prince Palatine & Salmon Trout
Prince Palatine and Salmon Trout were both members of the LNER A3 class (the same class as Flying Scotsman). They both worked until roughly 1966, 3 years after Flying Scotsman was preserved, but were sadly scrapped in a quiet corner of St. Margarets in Edinburgh.
3. Miles Beevor
Miles Beevor was one of the last A4's in service, but was once again scrapped before anyone could save it. What's worse is that it was once stored alongside Duke of Gloucester (a prototype engine that did end up being saved) but still wasn't bought by anyone.
4. Black 5 44781
44781 was one of the last steam engines on BR. It helped to pull the last train powered by a steam engine on BR metals. Did it get saved because of this? No. It was sold to a movie company who used it in a crash scene for some kind of action film. It was scrapped soon afterwards.
5. Basically every Scottish engine
Scotland has next to no old engines preserved. Most of our engines were scrapped very quickly and only a very, very small number of them were preserved before being pulled apart. There are hundreds, literally hundreds of engine classes from Scottish railways that no longer exist in any form other than photos and memories. There are 3 Caledonian engines, 2 NBR engines, 1 GNoSR engine, and 1 HR engine. All of the railways that these engines came from once had hundreds of engines of all different shapes and sizes, each with a unique purpose, each with a unique story. Almost all of them have long since been lost to time.
Sorry for that little vent lol. ANYWAYS that's the end of this post. Idk how I should end this so... Bye!

USS IDAHO (BB-42) recently refitted and on post-refit trials near Puget Sound, Washington.
This was her final wartime refit and her open mounted 5"/25 guns were replaced with ten enclosed 5"/38 weapons. "In addition to the ten 5"/38 single enclosed secondary battery IDAHO also had upgrades to fire control equipment. This included Mk 8 Mod 2 main battery fire control radar mounted in front of her forward Mk 31 main battery director. She still retained her aft Mk 3 main battery fire control radar mounted on the aft Mk 31 director. A Mk 27 main battery director was mounted on the Conning Tower.
For secondary battery control Idaho had MK 28 radars installed on her two Mk 33 directors. She also had fourteen MK 51 directors for her 40mm guns."
Photographed on January 2, 1945.
