Ooooh I haven't heard of that one before! The last time I read Fixed in Time, I was already on the last chapter. I was so scared of reading it all the way through 😭 I never wanted it to end even though it's already literally almost 600k words ❤ Of course, there are other fics out there but Fixed in Time is so special to me (like Extinction 🤣 I actually reread the last chapter a while ago just because).

Summary:

But her supervisor Andromeda Tonks suggests an alternative - that Hermione take a part-time job with her sister, who runs a 'small clothes shop' and who also happens to be designing the costumes for a new theatre production of the play Medea, which is one of Hermione's topics for her thesis.

Only Hermione didn't expect the 'small clothes shop' to be the well-known designer label The House of Black - so well-known that even she's heard of it. And she definitely didn’t expect to fall in love with the owner....

13. Extraordinarily Ordinary by starstruck1986 [Sirron, E, 9k] 💔 🔥 This ship came out of nowhere, but once I read this fic I couldn't unsee it. Ron is just the right amount of innocent and insecure to be taken in by Sirius's charms.

14. Courtship Rituals by @impishtubist [Cedrarry, T, 4k] 🌼 🌹 Cedric tries to court Harry, but of course he's oblivious. This is cute and hilarious!

15. Yes, Minister by iamisaac [Kingco, E, 1.5k] 🔥 👔 This is pure filthy smut between Draco and his minister boyfriend. Hop aboard the Kingsley/Draco ship where there's mind-blowing sex and that sweet sweet age difference!

16. Gyre and Gimble by eldritcher [Drarity, M, 3k] 💔 ☀️ A stunning fic from one of my hands-down favorite authors! Draco is drawn to the prisoner in the manor's basement. Charity is perhaps a little mad.

18. Terms and Conditions by @maraudersaffair [Linnansy, E, 8k] 🌼 🔥 Pansy can't get over her ex (Ginny) and is stuck on a trip with Ginny's new girlfriend (Luna). This fic made me laugh, swear, and sweat all in one sitting.

19. Slice of Pleasure by @misdemeanor1331 [Bleonsy, E, 5k] 🔥 🔪 Theo is obsessed with knives, Pansy is obsessed with Theo, and Blaise is just there for a good time. Knife kink and hot smut. Like very hot. Very very hot. But also sweet.

20. Nine Hundred and Twelve by @cannibalschism [Fred & George, T, 5k] 💔 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 This fic is filled to the brim with metaphors, friendship, and life lessons. I absolutely loved this take on time travel and the journey that George takes. Percy is the real MVP!

21. Where You Belong by blue_string_pudding [Severus, T, 6k] 💔 🐀 This is probably the creepiest, most unsettling thing I've ever read. I completely ADORE it. But I was definitely checking around corners after reading it.

22. Family Legacy by @thistlecatfics [The Tonks, T, 2k] 🌼 💔 Following Ted, Nymphadora, and Teddy as they navigate life and queer identity. This is a fic that is so wonderfully poignant, it leaves you in awe of all that it accomplished.

I'm gonna cheat and give two bc I couldn't choose.

The Burning Edge of Dawn (by @stonecoldhedwig) - Rabastan/Narcissa, M, 7424 words. It's gorgeous, and I just really love the tragedy of this rarepair. It's a beautiful friends to lovers with unhappy endings all around and it hurts my soul so of course I have to read it again and again. Highly recommend.

Once Upon a Dream (by Elfflame) - Sirius/Narcissa, E, 5280 words. This one I mainly come back to occasionally because it's the very first fic I read of this ship and it really jumpstarted my obsession lmao. It doesn't even really match my own vision of them anymore, but I don't care. It's just a very nice masquerade fic where they're both kinda aware of who the other is but pretending not to know so they have an excuse to continue. It's sweet, it's painful, it's canon compliant so yknow. Love it.

(Both these fics, funnily enough, have in common that Lucius Malfoy is not Draco's biological father)

✨ A fic you wish you could read again for the first time

Extinction (by @rubikanon) - Narcissa/Hermione, M, 200K. I read this back in 2018 and it got me into cissamione without ever expecting it. I saw a link on tumblr, thought "what the actual fuck?", then curiosity got the better of me and I ended up staying up until 5am to finish it. I would just really love to read it again for the first time, just to see if it has the same effect on me now. It was SO much fun reading it for the first time.

Fic writer questions!

1. What fic of yours would you recommend to someone who had never read any of your work? (In other words, what do you think is the best introduction to your fics?)

Ohh this is a hard one. I feel like any of my Narcissa fics can work, depending on what you want? The main ships I write her in are Sirius/Narcissa and Hermione/Narcissa, so I think it'd be logical to start with one of those. It'd perhaps be The Cure to Marital Problems bc it's a nice smutty Sirius/Narcissa oneshot where it's also their first time fucking each other, so it kinda works as an introduction maybe? For Cissamione I'd link to this series of post war oneshots.

But then also... I really just want Dorcas/Narcissa to get a little more traction, and I love them so dearly, and maybe if this was a complete stranger I was reccing to, I'd be a little intimidated reccing them my blackcest smut? So I also wanna say I'd rec Excellence bc it's my current main attempt at a longer fic, and it describes my vibe for Narcissa, rarepairs, and femslash very well.

26. Would you rather write a fic that had no dialogue or one that was only dialogue?

No dialogue. For sure. I've written oneshots like that before (like this Luna/Cho one) and I really like the vibe of it. Plus dialogue is one of my biggest struggles so no thank you.

On the night of the “7 Harry’s” Hermione sacrifices herself and is captured by death eaters to be tortured for information.

This event sets the Deathly Hallows on an entirely different course. Hermione is altered by the events at Malfoy Manor, and refuses to spend the war hiding in the forest in the search of horcruxes, but decides to go undercover in Hogwarts itself, which is under the tyrannical reign of Death Eaters.

Coincidentally, she is also attempting to ignore her growing feelings towards a particular pink haired Auror, who insists on being her partner in the mission.
