The universally hates old people crowd truly does not understand how much of our society is run by old retired ladies working what ought to be a 40-hour a week paid position with benefits for free. You have no idea how much knowledge would be lost if everyone over the age of 60 just disappeared right now.
#My church put out a call to get more volunteers working at our cemetery#it's a fairly big old Episcopalian church so we got a big ass cemetery#so I had a meeting with these two old ladies#and like I can give one day a week to this thing. they have been spending years doing this as their full-time volunteer work#just transcribing and archiving and organizing#they're incredible!#and so lovely!

all I can say is they invented the organ for a reason.
#any instrument and genre can be one of worship. obviously#and i have beautiful memories of my grandfather's guitar accompanying family hymn sings#there are many small group situations for which a guitar can be a beautiful accompaniment#but to accompany large congregational singing. in a giant beautiful church. guitar is a Choice#it's not like they were making do with what they had (music is always better than no music)#and they Had an organ. a piped one#and a pianist!#this is not a campfire or an auditorium this is a mass in a cathedral. this acoustical and spiritual situation is what the organ is for#also the insistence of catholics not to provide harmonies for the congregation is so rude. and why am i the loudest singer.#you're gonna let a protestant outsing you? you're gonna leave before the final hymn and leave me remembering the harmony to hark the herald#anyway. love u catholics. it's fine that you turned the circumcision holiday into another mary feast.#we just need to fix your musical education

Would Machete and Vasco have any interest in learning a musical instrument? If so, what would they play? ( cannon or original)
I have been thinking about re-learning playing piano again, and it struck me that piano seems to be a instrument Machete could enjoy playing if he had the chance.
Do I get to pick any instruments I want for them? Even kind of unlikely weirdo ones?
Machete doesn't play anything in original canon or modern au, but if he did, I think the only truly correct choice would be pipe organ.

16th century Vasco can play lute a little bit! It's not something he's very enthusiastic about but it was part of his education. Maybe he'd be more into it in the modern times.

#about to go and have a discussion with my current ministry leader about taking over for her#she's the administrator for the entire church and I have more time + passion and plans for this ministry#my dad (in the worship leader rotation) even said I would make a good Official ministry leader#I would have a leg to stand on in training and in asking for better organization from other teams I work with#it's very chaotic rn because one woman is overseeing pretty much everything and I would like to make it... different#I'd like to implement some things but I don't really have any place to ask for them right now#I feel like I can't ask speakers to get me their verses by Friday instead of on Sunday morning#I can't implement an inter-team preservice meeting because I'm not in charge#I would like to be#however I am very small and nervous. I'm only 21 idk if they'll go for me being In Charge of this#but the overall church admin has said I have administrative skills. I come in and help her during her office hours when I have time#I know this ministry and all I'm essentially asking for is to be a stage manager instead of just a technician#anyway. yeah pray for me please#Lu rambles#faith tag
