Miyuki's grandma was basically the mom she never had.. she taught her how to love herself and to never take any disrespect again after what her parents did to traumatize her.. unlike her parents, she was very patient and understanding with her and taught her that it was okay to mess up sometimes.. miyuki loved her grandma dearly..♡

Miu at first when meeting Shuichi called him fatphobic slurs and this caused some tension between the two and Shuichi to avoid Miu.

Eventually though, both of them accidentally locked each other in the closet and Miu kept calling him slurs and all, but Shuichi stood defiant thanks to Kaede's support.

Miu eventually revealed that she suffered from fatphobic insults in the past too and that she got jacked in order to stop being bullied only to get buied again for not looking like a barbie girl

She admits that she's deep down jealous that Shuichi is comfortable in his own skin, no matter what she said.

The two understood each other better and things became more awkward between them.

They tried to take their distance out of awkwardness and Miu suddenly became more flirtatious towards him and Shuichi pushed her off, eventually revealing that her insults still hurt him and that even though she suffered in the past that it did not justify her bullying.

Miu then broke down and apologized and asked for Shuichi to give her a second chance. Shuichi accepted it and eventually they began to date.

Miu actually loves Shuichis chubby tummy and often fondles with it, complimenting how soft it is, like a pillow or lube

Shuichi in turn admires Miu's back muscles in particular and loves how she lifts him up.

He sometimes employs Miu in his investigations for some "convincing"

Shuichi exercises with Miu sometimes, but only lightly

He makes her be less harsh on herself nutrition wise

He gives the inventor a massage when she's tired.

Shuichi often tries to lift her up but fails and Miu teases him for it

Miu is actually at first nervous, but eventually allows Shuichi to touch her and hug her.

chubby shuichi. but like in the way that he wasn’t always like that. he used to be underweight and on the lanky side but as he gets healthier (mentally and physically) he starts gaining more weight. he’s getting better (with help from his friends) and he’s so happy. he has off days but that’s okay, because he has people who love him and support him through it.

Thinking about Kiyo and perhaps Shuichi and Rantaro going on a road trip together were the boys try to encourage Kiyo to eat and try diffrent foods to encourage him to gain wheight because they know Kiyo has some healing to do. They would be encouraging but patient qhen ordering him new things to try or telling him how much dessert looks good. They be good pals.

Yes! 100% I always have a bias towards my favorite blorbo, and they really need the support, since they have a LOT of healing to do.

((I’m interpreting this as platonic, so I kept it that way, but I would be so down for a more shippy context. Also they/them Kiyo because it’s my way.))

Rantaro and Shuichi really are the best friends they could have going through it, I mean. Even after ch3, Shuichi still was torn on whether he actually saw Kiyo as a bad person, which was 🥲 And Rantaro seems to have the patience of an absolute saint.

They all deserve to travel somewhere and let loose, even if it takes Kiyo some time to ease into it. But they’re so understanding and won’t be giving up on them. Even if they have to remind them that it’s okay to eat (especially in front of other people), and that yes, it’s okay to have more, they deserve it.

They of course have a great time, especially with Kiyo’s insight on how to observe the local cultures and where the most impressive sites (and most unique cuisine) can be found. And it gets better as they come more and more out of their shell and are able to let themself eat and relax without feeling like they’re falling.

And yeah, along the way Kiyo does end up filling out a bit (they all do tbh) and putting on some much needed weight. The poor thing can finally stand up without feeling lightheaded and not freeze to death when Rantaro cranks the car AC. They’re definitely shaky on how to feel about it, though they can’t deny that they feel healthier and have more energy than they used to.

At some point, traveling up north after mostly wearing lighter, baggier clothes in some of the hotter regions they visited, they try putting on their uniform, still very much a prized possession, only to find it’s just not going to fit. They kind of shut down and fall into a depression, but their two besties are the reassurance they need to get through it.

Rantaro and Shuichi are always there to talk and to listen, when Kiyo (being themself) goes off on tangent after tangent. Rantaro sits behind them and rubs their back, knowing the physical touch is a comfort stim, and Shuichi holds their hand, listening to everything as if it’s yhe most interesting thing he’s heard. The two aren’t bothered, and will let Kiyo go on and on, talking about their favorite folktales and urban legends until they calm down and end up eventually falling asleep on Rantaro’s lap.

Eventually they agree with their friends. That it’s really kind of symbolic. It shows that they’re moving on, and quite literally growing out of the role that they were groomed into. They grow into a healthy weight, and at some point start developing a bit of extra pudge, which their friends are so proud to see.

They’re healing and the extra weight (which they carry mostly around their lower belly, which develops a bit of a hang, thighs, and hips, giving a more bottom-heavy appearance) paired with their ethereal and androgynous beauty just makes them all the more charming.

Personally, one of my hcs with Kiyo is that I feel like they actually really like trying different food. Even though they ‘don’t look the part’ (yet) per se, they actually really like to eat.

The reason they don’t so much is definitely a result of expectations placed on them by a certain someone that doesn’t deserve recognition. It’s a combination of feeling as though they don’t deserve to eat and the mold that the evil bitch was trying to force them into, speaking both to aesthetics and the fact that being smaller and weaker made them easier to manipulate.

Not to be super parasocial by answering this, but I really appreciate your long message and I want to thank you properly for it, since I don't seem to find a huge pool of people my art resonates with. Happy to see you've bumped into my older DR fan content! I hope you're having a pleasant time in the fandom so far and everyone's behaving themselves.

I honestly really fancy some sweet Saiouma. I like to give them a more happy ending than what they got canonically and that includes allowing them to be more emotionally intimate and physically affectionate than Shuichi trusted himself to be with Kokichi when he was considered highly suspicious in-game.

I also think Shuichi is the boney, gangly one and Kokichi is, as you say, skinny with a little bit of extra here and there that doesn't really come across over his baggy clothes. I like how Shuichi imagines him super worked out & fit in the 5th trial recounting tho. Pookie was Locked In. Being older now I don't feel entirely comfortable speaking about headcanons of teen characters' bodies but yeah. That's what I intended when I made my old art (they were grown-ups in most everything I created. Hope that came across)

-Muscular, yet lean. Has sharp nails
