So I was drawing some dragons today and I thought, “what if I designed a cute chubby dragon?” So I did.

This is a snow dragon. They are semi-aquatic dragons who live in the arctic, and they have a layer of blubber that keeps them warm. They are smol by dragon standards, the biggest ones being about 3 feet tall. They are playful, and baby snow dragons are called “pups.”

Everyone talks about how Appa is apparently obese for a sky bison and Aang is over feeding him. Undeserved in my opinion (hes just big boned obviously)

But nobody talks about how Druk (Zuko's dragon) is a complete fatass compared to other dragons.

After that reblog I’ve made about the DnD movie… I just wanted to draw Mily as the most Themberchaud-looking dragon ever 😂😂. Après ce reblog que j’ai fais sur DnD… J’ai eu l’incontrôlable envie de dessin Mily sous la forme d’un adorable dragon bien dodu comme Themberchaud 😂. While doing a bit of research into the Year of the Dragon, I came across some interesting mythos about a set of 9 sons of the Dragon King with designs interesting enoiugh that I wanted to draw them. Here's my take on Taotie, with possibly more to come. Let me know if you're interested.

Just saw it tonight. Even my wife, who once said of D&D after listening to an actual play podcast with me, “I’d rather stick an ice pick in my eye than play,” said she enjoyed the movie. 🙂 We both liked the adorable chubby dragon, Themberchaud!

My favourite thing about the D&D movie is it never stops trying to be a D&D movie even down to the most minute, unsung details. There's initiative order gags (I'll go last!) there's rolling a 1 gags (setting off the trap on the bridge by inexplicably just walking up to it) there's stat gags (nobody had high enough Intelligence to be in danger from the Intellect Devourers). Almost every spell is identifiable, from Xenk using smite to Sofina whipping out Finger of Death. Simon's character arc is about his self-confidence being tied to his mastery of magic because Charisma is the spellcasting stat for sorcerers. The era of movies based on games being afraid of their source material is over.
