People when you say you have chronic fatigue: "We're ALL tired, sweetie!! That's just life!! Haha!!"
Meanwhile I just said, out loud, to my partner: "I'd love to be eating, but I just don't have that kind of energy" 🙃
#spoonie#chronic fatigue syndrome by beloathed#chronic fatigue syndrome#chronic fatigue#one of my doctors thinks it might be Addison's now (maybe?)??#so that brings the autoimmune count up to 2.5! wow#now I just have to decide between treatment and diagnosis/any kind of rest or financial support#being chronically ill is not fun

The worst thing about burnout is that you have to abstain from "optional" practoces that are necessary for your recover and mental health (hanging out with friends, playing games, going out on walks, leaving the house to do things you like), but you still have to do the essential, exhausting drivel that made you burn out in the first place. Go to work. Go to school. Go to one million doctor's appointments. Because if you don't, you either die or lose access to a vital thing keeping you alive (money, healthcare, etc).
(Btw this post is about physical chronic illness/physical disability related burn out and health crashes. I'm eating once a day. There is no accessibility tip you can give me that will enable me to rest and recoup more effectively. I am having a health crisis.)
#do not derail do not tag as visual snow syndrome etc#chronic illness#chronic pain#disabled#chronic fatigue#i have rescheduled all non-treatment drs appointments#but ppl dont get that doctors dont like when you do that! especially on short notice.#some doctors count anything with less than 24 hour notice a no-show even if you reschedule.#MOST doctors ive seen have a clause in their intake contract that if you have 3 no-shows you will b discharged.#A LOT of doctors i work with now DO NOT HAVE VALID CALL CENTERS??#like i call in and get redirected to a voicemail box that is full?? so i never get a call back. and no one ever answers.#and the automated confirmation text messages only have a confirm option--no option to reschedule.#i am unable to communicate with so many of my extremely rigid specialists.#its frightening having to reschedule. it could be the end of the line for you.

little PSA for anyone struggling with undiagnosed fatigue or long term fatigue without a visible cause - if you've found similarity with conditions like POTS, fibromyalgia, or chronic fatigue, or if you have chronic pain, heavy menstruation, difficulty focusing/brain fog, memory and concentration issues, intolerance to exercise and/or an abnormally fast heartrate/heart palpitations. Get your ferritin levels checked 👍 because it might be non-anaemic iron deficiency! It's only fairly recently that scientists/doctors have seen and taken note that low ferritin (carrier of iron in your blood), even if you have normal iron levels, can cause serious health issues often misdiagnosed. It's treatable with high level iron supplements!!!
Guidelines (at least in the UK) state that normal levels are 5-204ug/L but in reality, anything below 100ug/L can lead to really awful symptoms like those described above. It's more common in people who menstruate, especially if you have heavy periods (also other types of blood loss like blood donation or gastrointestinal issues), as well as people who are vegetarian, and consume a lot of products that inhibit iron absorption (such as tea, coffee, cow milk, and egg yolks) or have a condition that impairs iron absorption such as coeliac.
I normally don't make posts like this but I have had these issues for the past eight years and only just found that this might be the source. It's underdiagnosed and thus undertreated, and so maybe the knowledge will help someone else out too 👍
#rye.txt#chronic fatigue#fibromyalgia#pots#hypermobilty syndrome#shrimply using these tags bc these were all the things i was told it might be#this might still not be the cause for me i haven't started the treatment yet#but even if not#it might help someone else#and chronic pain and fatigue sucks 😵💫

September is PCOS Awareness month. Last year I made a post including all of the common symptoms. As it's nearly a year since my diagnosis, I thought I would share my story of being diagnosed...
I started showing symptoms of having polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS for short) when I was 14, in 2018. I went 9 months without a period, started growing body hair in places that are not considered 'normal' for women, gained a lot of weight, started getting very oily skin and acne.
When my mum queried this with a doctor, she was told I was just a teenager having an irregular phase and that no doctor would seriously look at a diagnosis for me until I was at least 16.
(what my mum didn't know is that I was being groomed and had been assaulted, which is when I developed binge eat disorder, which also accounted for the weight gain...)
By the time I had turned 16 in 2020, covid had put the uk into a second nation wide lockdown and completely ruined an already struggling NHS.
I didn't see a doctor about my PCOS until a month before I turned 19, due to all of the backlog.
My doctor ordered a blood test, and an ultrasound of my ovaries at a nearby hospital. The blood test was completed within a week, but it took me 6 weeks to get my first scan. I am still a virgin, and due to being sexually assaulted when I was younger, I was extremely nervous about having something in me and to have a nurse/doctor see me like that.
The external ultrasound was incredibly painful, having a bladder full of two liters of water pushing down onto you. The nurse couldn't get a good enough view, so I went to relive myself before having what would be my first of three ultrasounds.
The nurse took one look at my scan and confirmed I definitely had polycystic ovaries, she could also see I had ovulated. I knew I would be having my first period in 4 months in December of 2023. This was the last period I had, it was the worst I'd had in a very long time.
On my first scan, a large cyst was spotted, so I would need a second one due to the size of it. It was roughly the size of a ping-pong ball. My ovaries are also swollen to about three times the size they should be.
By my second scan, it had disappeared. I had a third as a precaution, which was also clear of anything concerning.
I then started taking Cerelle birth control in February.
I have had two bartholin cysts (infection of the vagina), hives, extremely sore breasts on and off, nausea, low libido, acne, increased body weight, tiredness, rashes and so much more caused by my birth control...
But it's preventing me from having an increased risk of developing cancer when I'm older, masking my symptoms so that I can have a 'normal' life whilst living with PCOS.
Although I still grow a better beard than my 18 year old brothers thanks to the increase androgen lol
I don't know how long I'll stay on birth control, or if I'll have to use other treatments, but this is my PCOS journey so far.

I'm so unsure of what to do. The clinic I'm going to to get stationary treatment finally called. I'm happy but also really overwhelmed, I don't know what to expect and I just hate that in general. So maybe here are some of you who can relate or even help und write about there first days.
But there is also another thing on my mind, now that I've got my ADHD diagnosis. I also think that I've might have autism too, I have a whole word document full of tests that I've made and symptoms I've collected over years of researching. Now I'm thinking maybe when the vibe is right with my therapist there I could talk to him about it and even get a diagnosis. But imposter syndrome is kicking. Did some of you experienced something like that and could give an advice? I'm just so overwhelmed and unsure of what I should do and I like to be prepared...

I fought so hard…for this?
I fought so hard to just survive and keep myself alive for over 12 years, made it through everything thrown at me over and over. Dragging myself through the hurt, the trauma, the ptsd, the mental illnesses the CVS, the programs, doing all the work to feel better for years and years and years, finally starting to see my goals and feeling balanced and almost happy, and then….my body starts to fail, and a new hell of chronic fatigue and pain hits. Doctor after doctor, ruling out all the things it could be. I will never be able to go back to how i felt before.
I feel like I fought all this time for nothing… I cant enjoy the fruits of my labor. The loss of my mobility and strength in my hands is devastating, I am a young artist just starting in my career for fucks sake. It hurts to just exist.
I was told by everyone to push myself, to push through, that it will all be worth it. But did I push too hard? I keep taking more and more off my plate, removing stressors out of my life, I eat nutritional meals. I got myself out of the traumatic situations. I put in the work. I was just starting to feel better. How could my body just give out like this. I just wanted to live, I am damaged enough…
I am trying to stay positive, find the small things that I can do that bring me joy. I try to create new routines and adjust to my new normal. My art process has shriveled and died, I am trying to find ways to make my work without unbearable pain. I am still putting in the work and trying to survive.
I am just so exhausted all the time… There is no battery recharging, just sinking deeper into exhaustion. I feel like every day is harder and harder. I fear deteriorating more and I can already feel it happening. Hopelessness is a tiny voice whispering in my ear and I am trying not to listen. I fear the impact this already started having on my chronically ill partner. I fear my reliance and the negative effect my ADHD stimulant has on me. I can not function without taking it.
I never thought I would live past 14, I made it to my mid 20s. Making it, surviving, overcoming the odds was supposed to be worth it, it was supposed to feel worth it, and all I feel is exhausted, pain, and angry.

Good Ovarian Cyst Doctor in Nigdi: Dr. Balaji Nalwad Reddy
Ovarian cysts are a common health issue among women that often go unnoticed until they cause discomfort. While many cysts are harmless and resolve on their own, some require medical attention to avoid complications. If you are in Nigdi and looking for an expert gynecologist, Dr. Balaji Nalwad Reddy is a trusted name for the diagnosis and treatment of ovarian cysts and related conditions.
What Are Ovarian Cysts?
Ovarian cysts are fluid-filled sacs that develop on or within an ovary. They are typically classified into two categories:
Functional Cysts: Linked to the menstrual cycle, these are the most common and often resolve naturally.
Pathological Cysts: These include conditions such as dermoid cysts, cystadenomas, and endometriomas, which may require medical or surgical intervention.
While many ovarian cysts are asymptomatic, others may cause symptoms such as:
Pelvic pain or pressure
Bloating or swelling
Irregular menstrual cycles
Pain during intercourse
When to See a Doctor
It’s essential to consult a gynecologist if you experience any of the above symptoms or have a history of ovarian cysts. Early detection is crucial to prevent complications such as cyst rupture, ovarian torsion, or infertility.
Why Choose Dr. Balaji Nalwad Reddy?
Dr. Balaji Nalwad Reddy is a leading gynecologist in Nigdi, known for his expertise in managing ovarian cysts with a patient-focused approach. Here’s why he is the preferred choice for women seeking quality care:
Accurate Diagnosis Dr. Reddy uses advanced diagnostic tools, including ultrasound and endoscopy, to assess ovarian cysts accurately. This ensures a tailored treatment plan suited to each patient’s unique condition.
Minimally Invasive Treatment With extensive experience in laparoscopy, Dr. Reddy offers minimally invasive surgical solutions for ovarian cysts. This approach reduces recovery time, minimizes pain, and ensures better outcomes for patients.
Comprehensive Care Dr. Reddy not only treats ovarian cysts but also addresses associated conditions like fibroids, endometriosis, and ectopic pregnancies. His holistic care approach ensures that all aspects of a woman’s reproductive health are well-managed.
Advanced Treatment Options
Dr. Balaji Nalwad Reddy offers a range of treatment options for ovarian cysts, depending on their type, size, and symptoms:
Observation: Small, asymptomatic cysts are often monitored over time to ensure they resolve naturally.
Medications: Hormonal treatments can prevent the formation of new cysts and alleviate symptoms.
Surgical Intervention: For larger or problematic cysts, Dr. Reddy specializes in laparoscopic procedures, which are safe, effective, and minimally invasive.
Managing Associated Conditions
Ovarian cysts often occur alongside other gynecological issues. Dr. Reddy’s expertise ensures effective management of:
Endometriosis: He provides targeted treatments for endometriomas, helping reduce pain and improve fertility.
Fibroids: His advanced skills in hysteroscopy allow for effective removal of fibroids, enhancing uterine health.
Ectopic Pregnancies: Dr. Reddy’s training in gynecological surgery ensures the safe management of ectopic pregnancies, which can sometimes arise due to cyst-related complications.
Patient-Centered Approach
Dr. Reddy is widely recognized for his compassionate and patient-friendly care. He takes the time to explain medical conditions in simple language, empowering patients to make informed decisions about their treatment. Many women in Nigdi have praised his ability to make them feel comfortable and confident during their healthcare journey.
Why Early Intervention Is Key
While many ovarian cysts are benign, neglecting them can lead to severe complications such as:
Ruptured Cysts: This can cause sudden, intense pain and internal bleeding.
Torsion: A twisted ovary may result in the loss of blood supply, requiring emergency surgery.
Impact on Fertility: Large or untreated cysts can interfere with ovulation and fertility, especially in cases involving endometriosis.
Regular visits to a gynecologist like Dr. Balaji Nalwad Reddy can help detect and address these issues before they escalate.
