Has "Wacky Wear Week" Gone Too Far?

Yes. Hal Cooper is about to put an end to this "Wacky Wear Week".

Truth be told, we are still just under the wire when they could simply change "record" to "cd". These days, they would be better off sticking to record -- at least over cd. It doesn't help that the item Hal will hold up is vinyl.

And of course, there is a decent chance your dad's music is louder than yours. I suppose we let the "wack beats" lingo slide -- the point here is for the parents to embarrass the child -- the only way to put an end to "Wacky Wear Week".

Pitch a little woo? Okay, the Bling Bling talk is one thing, but now the parents have gone too far. No one wants to think about your parents pitching a little woo!

I haven't personally verified this as I'm not at a computer, but multiple people in multiple places are saying the same thing. This is fucking insane. First the endless war on UBlock, then the Chromium changes to shut out some blocker functionalities entirely next year, now this?

Something is deeply rotten in recent Google/YouTube policy. I can't imagine that this is legal - how is this not anticompetitive? Google needs to get mega fucked in the press and the courts sooner rather than later.

And I need to switch to Firefox as soon as I get home.

Google is actively blocking Captcha on Firefox

Firefox users have noticed that captchas - both the picture kind and the click the box kind - are not resolving on Firefox. Tests on Chromium based browsers show that it works perfectly fine on them. It is also known that Chrome will be disabling all ad-blockers in June when it moves to Manifest v3, which will greatly limit what extensions can do.

If you use Firefox, there is an extension called User-Agent Switcher and it allows you to change your browser's UA to Chrome. This will allow you to bypass reCaptcha/Captcha blocks set up by Google and make them function properly.

It could be a code snafu on Google's part - but given how predatory they have been acting lately, I'm going to guess not. Don't get locked out of your websites or feel forced to use Chrome again just to browse.

UPDATE: This has been fixed as of 5/4/2024 and no longer affects Firefox. It was a bug in the most recent update of the Captcha code. Hopefully it won't happen again!
