Thinking about when Christine gets old enough to Doubt God and Booth loses his shit. Maybe when Uncle Jared dies (3 yo)? or Grandpa (5 yo)? I always imagined Booth took her to church every Sunday, but eventually she reaches an age and a traumatic enough experience that it doesn't work. The explanation that God has a Plan and is actually Kind and Merciful doesn't land anymore. Booth drags her to a priest for help with mixed success. It really doesn't help that Brennan is, well, Brennan. She intentionally tries to be supportive without being contradictory ("Well your father believes... I believe...") but inevitably can't help but butt in with "That's not technically correct/rational."

The cards are pretty stacked against Booth in this case, but he tries his best. If nothing else, the dedicated daddy/daughter time on Sunday mornings is too important to him, so important he might be willing to forgo church for some other sports activity or arts and crafts something they could do together

tragic to me that “rarity” & “pristine” aren’t more common as virtue-type names.
