Queer Webseries: Kelsey
Title: Kelsey
    Status: Complete
    Creator and Producers: Christina Raia & Kelsey Rauber
Cast: Nichole Yannetty, Sharina Martin, Brennan Taylor, & Daniel K Isaac
    Queer Creators: Yes
    Accessibility: No content warnings, auto-generated captions on YouTube here.
Summary: Kelsey, a talkative, humorous, and often self-deprecating lesbian, has just ended her long term relationship. Or more precisely, she has been dumped. She isn't sure who could love someone with her bulgy eyes & crooked teeth (which people only notice because she points them out) and weird sense of humor (she laughs loudest at her own jokes, which leaves the question open if the other person did laugh, just not as loud, or if they didn't laugh at all). All she wants is to feel whole again and she is trying to do so by dating new people. She dates all shapes and sizes and comes to one really crucial realization: Everyone is fucking weird. So, where does weird become creepy, where does it become sexy and where might it become happily ever after?
That's what Kelsey's trying to figure out. She finds solace in talking to her best friends: Samantha, Tyrone, and Rowan. They all drink and make the most out of life by supporting each other through the bad and the worse.

💋 bops n’ thangs | nana’s heavy rotation
Tumblr media
tagged by - @undersunrise ! tagging - @busanbunnie / @amsijang / @elskct / @drcvmisms / @damneedy / @ofkillings / @seolhysns & whoever else wants to do this !
* PERSONAL ANTHEMS
Vanity / I Hate Boys @ Christina Aguilera
It took a lot for her to begin rebuilding what was left of her confidence and self-worth after she and her ex-gf broke up, and listening to Vanity first thing in the morning reminds her of how far she’s come since then. IHBs though, there’s no particular reason for this song, it’s just an iconic bop.
* GUILTY PLEASURES
Boyfriend @ Justin Bieber / Kiss Me Thru The Phone @ Soulja Boy
She still finds these songs just as good as they were when they were first aired on the radio and will always sing along with them without fail.
* SINGS WHILE DRUNK
Rich Sex @ Nicki Minaj / Wit The Shits (W.T.S.) @ Meek Mill
She’ll sing just about anything drunk, but Nicki and Melii’s verses in the respective songs have her feeling like the baddest bitch so if either of these songs start playing...y’all gone have to pull her down off the table, countertop or whatever the fuck she’s dancing on.
* FAVE LOVE SONGS
Falling Slow / Dear No One @ Tori Kelly
Nana views love as a bittersweet, finicky thing from and FS resonates with her by appealing to the idea that love is never perfect between people because people aren’t perfect and that the love they share between them needs to reflect that. DNO represents a fresh start for her because she’s begun to focus more on living her life rather than trying to live just to be apart of someone else’s.
* SINGS TO LOVED ONES
Infinity @ Niykee Heaton
This song serves a promise to her loved ones that she’ll never walk away from, give up on or stop believing in them when things get rough; she’ll be by their side for infinity.
* SONGS THEY FIGHT TO
Pissed @ Saweetie / My Main @ Mila J
Both songs have that, “pull her tracks out first, ask questions later” typa energy.
* LULLABIES
How We Both Wondrously Perish / The Poets Cry For More @ Being As An Ocean
She listens to these songs when she feels anxious or defeated/beaten down by something. The line, “We have all made mistakes / God, I’ve made mistakes, but my mistakes haven’t made me” is like a liferaft, always pulling her out of a suffocating space crowded with negative thoughts and telling her to take a moment, breathe, and try again.
* EARWORMS
Kream @ Iggy Azalea / Lil Bebe @ DaniLeigh
These are just songs she’s had on repeat lately, and hasn’t gotten tired of.
* SHOWER KARAOKE
Pose @ Rihanna / When I Grow Up @ PCD
She doesn’t trust anyone who says they don’t sing or dance to either of these songs. Period.
* SINGS TO ANNOY PEOPLE
Friday @ Rebecca Black
She sings it so off-key and pitchy that whomever is unfortunate enough to hear it won’t last past the first “It’s Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday,” caving in to whatever she wants.
* SONGS THAT MAKE THEM EMO
Yes, No, Maybe @ Trey Songz / How To Feel @ Moxie Raia
Post breakup, Nana spent too much time trying to figure out what she had done to bring this upon herself and often, her thoughts jumped between being upset at her ex-gf and wondering what she should have done better to keep Valentine’s attention and how much further she (Nana) should’ve gone to get it despite knowing subconsciously that the answers she was looking for in Valentine wouldn’t be the ones she wanted. YNM flips between a similar type of dialogue. She felt many things things following the breakup, but above all else, she felt cheated and empty and some days, the memories of what they were and what they could’ve been is just too much for her to handle. HTF is for those days.
* SONGS THAT MAKE OTHERS THINK OF THEM
Caraphernelia @ Pierce The Veil
Because of the lines, “There’s just something about this dizzy dreamer and bleeding little blue boy.” Whenever she’s in a relationship, things are always unpredictable; she’s either the person not giving enough (bleeding little blue boy) or giving too much (dizzy dreamer), there’s no in between.

And leaves, and colors, and clothing . . . fall is just the best. It only leads to great things, like Christmas. (Except for I live in Utah, so, ya know, winter is fun for about one month because then inversion,)
Favorite book series: The Reckoners by Brandon Sanderson, Warriors by Erin Hunter will always have a special place in my heart, and this isn’t a series, but it’s the same author, so literally all of Jodi Picoult’s books.
Favorite fictional character: Sirius Black, Hermione Granger, @shaelinwrites‘ Raia Aesho is amazing too, and this is super selfish I guess but my own book characters. Is that okay? Especially Lolly Gray, Fabian Price. and Weylyn Tayler from The Color of War. I love them so much.

Last thing I googled: “Was Mike Pence’s website actually hacked?” (It wasn’t. But the fake site made for him is hilarious. So if you don’t like Mike Pence, go check it out. If you do like him (um why), don’t. You’ll feel all the rage. But I found it hilarious.)

Kelsey Rauber and Christina Raia campaign to fund two film shorts
June 30, 2014 - by Nicholas Gauthier
Kelsey Steeler and Christina Raia of CongestedCat Productions are currently raising the funds for two new short film projects - "Not Our Living Room" and "We Have Plans." They are using the crowdfunding site Seed & Spark, and have reached 40% of their goal. And these two films are a worthy goal indeed, heavy on theme and character and sure to leave the audience contemplating their stories long after the films are over.
Both films star actors from Raia's first feature film, "Summit." And both films use unique elements of drama to explore a sense of loss. Each film requires audiences to question what they understand about gender roles and to consider the important aspects of relationships between siblings.
The first film, "Not Our Living Room," is a surreal and cerebral film about two half-brothers. Kelsey and Christina portray the brothers as atypical of the men usually seen in movies. This was done on purpose to provide an alternative to the sort of masculinity normally seen in film. The brothers have polar opposite personalities. When they end up in a living room they can't identify, their personalities come to the fore as they try to figure things out. Casting is still going on for the role of one of the brothers.
The second film, "We Have Plans," is about two sisters, one of whom is gay. The sister who is straight wants to break up with her current boyfriend. But the other sister has plans for the three of them and the breakup changes her plans. Both sisters are portrayed as relatable characters. Like "Not Our Living Room," this film questions the typical role of females in film.
There is still time to support these films. CongestedCat Productions is known for the web series Kelsey and the feature film Summit.
