Christian Badzura : Lunar ( Bruce Liu )
Christian Badzura's work in Lunar, performed by pianist Bruce Liu, is a remarkable example of the contemporary ability to merge the modern with the ethereal in classical music. Badzura, known for his compositions that challenge traditional boundaries of classical music and explore new sound textures, achieves in Lunar a piece that invites introspection and emotional journeying.
The piece is characterized by a minimalist and immersive structure, partially reminiscent of the atmospheres of composers like Ludovico Einaudi or Max Richter, but with a personal touch that sets it apart. The use of subtle harmonies and repetitive patterns creates a sound space that seems to emulate the stillness and mystery of the moon, hence its name. The piece has a hypnotic quality that draws the listener into a contemplative state, moving between delicate passages and moments of greater intensity.
Bruce Liu's interpretation brings a unique dimension to Lunar. Liu, known for his sensitivity and precision, perfectly captures the spirit of the piece, achieving a balance between impeccable technique and pure emotion. His touch is ethereal and meticulous, allowing each note to breathe and resonate in the space, enhancing the feeling of a soundscape that unfolds smoothly. Liu masters the subtleties of the piece’s dynamics and timing, making the silences and pauses as significant as the notes themselves.

Create a Space to Think and Let Yourself Bloom
You’ve probably heard it before: a clean space equals a clear mind. It might sound cliché, but there’s actual psychological evidence behind it. In a messy environment, there’s always something calling for your attention—a pile to tidy up, an item to put away. This chaos can make it hard to focus or even know where to start. It hampers your ability to process information and concentrate.
Speaking of focus, a recent Netflix movie, The Sixth Triple Eight, tells the incredible true story of a battalion of Black women during World War II. They were tasked with organizing and delivering over 17 million pieces of undelivered mail in Europe. They worked in a repurposed, abandoned school with blacked-out windows and no natural daylight. The building was freezing, poorly lit, and infested with rats.
Despite these challenges, the women got to work. According to Major General Mari K. Eder’s book, their leader, Major Charity Adams, rallied the group by saying:
“I know how this looks, ladies. And I know what you’re probably thinking. But we have a job to do, and we’re going to get it done. Now, let’s get organized.”
And organized they did. What was expected to take six months was accomplished in just three. This is a perfect example of how having a system, even in the messiest of situations, can lead to incredible results.
That said, there are times when a little messiness can fuel creativity. A study published in Psychological Science found that people in messy environments often come up with more creative ideas. Think about it: if you’re knitting a sweater and there are balls of yarn everywhere, you might be inspired to add unique, unexpected designs. The creative chaos can help you think outside the box.
So, how do you balance a clean environment with the need for creative mess? It’s simple: start small. Begin with your room. Make sure everything has a designated place. If you find you don’t have enough storage, get some containers or boxes to help organize. This way, messes don’t pile up—they’re easier to clean.
Once your room feels under control, expand your efforts. Maybe clean the bathroom one week and tackle the kitchen the next. But in my opinion, the room is the most important. Even if the rest of the house is messy, having a clean, personal space to retreat to can do wonders for your mind.
Imagine this: you come back to your tidy room with your yarn neatly stored. You dive into your sweater project, and after a few hours, there are balls of yarn everywhere. You’ve poured your creativity into the design. When you’re done, it takes just a few minutes to clean up because everything has its place. Now, you’re back to your clean space, ready for whatever comes next.
A clean space isn’t about stifling creativity—it’s about setting the stage for your mind to thrive. Let your room be the foundation where creativity and clarity bloom side by side.
1 Corinthians 14:33 (NIV):
"For God is not a God of disorder but of peace."

In giving, one is released from the burden of the items one has, whereas the one who takes adds items to items. The issue is when a person possesses items that he does not use, only to set them aside. I don't intend to be harsh, but I need to tell you that you will give an account of every item in your house that you do not use and is only set aside. There might be a person who is in need of these items. What is even more unfortunate than having unused items is allowing them to stay in your house until they are ruined and neither you nor anyone else was able to use them. For example, consider a person who holds on to a few extra clothes beyond need, until they are eaten by moth and neither he nor anyone else has benefitted from them.
