Monday morning with high hopes for what God is going to do this week.

As I begin it was interesting to me that my eyes went the capital G in God in the title and how it looks like an arrow directing upward and onward. It’s like we are winding up for launch or liftoff. It makes me think of expectations and hopes that God will help us accomplish starting of this week. Directions that will help us move forward and upward with momentum and hope. Monday isn’t about…

a few favorites

There are so many favorites.  Some may think of people that they are close to.  You might think of your favorite vacation spots or even your favorite food.  I have some of all of those.

But in this e-devotion I am going to visit just a few of my favorites.  But I won’t be talking about people.  I have a lot of favorites.  Some at some, some friends and even people I have only met or maybe heard of.  There are a lot.

So I have shared some of my favorite Bible verses before.  Each has a different meaning for me or came at a time that was very special for a specific reason.  Here are a couple of those.

Psalm 150:6  NLT  

Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord! Praise the Lord!

That verse became one of my favorites when I was a child.  My dad had heart surgery and for some reason this verse was shared with us, and it caught my attention.

Philippians 4:6-8  NLT  

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. 7 Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus. 8 And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.

That is more than one verse, and it is actually some favorites that go many different directions and have different reasons why they are favorites.  Some include Bible promises.  Others include reminders about our God.
