i looked up the current candidates for the 2024 presidential election in the usa and it is. really fucking bleak.
democrats:
joe biden - current president. doing...ok. he's pro trans rights and has been doing some good stuff to fight climate change, but he's like a hundred years old and
robert f kennedy jr - seems to have decent opinions on a lot of policy, but thinks that chemicals in the water are making kids transgender and has suggested that covid is a conspiracy by ashkenazi jews and chinese people
marianne williamson - anti vaxxer apparently, also i guess thinks love is the only thing that will defeat trump
republicans:
ryan binkley - conservative pastor that thinks marriage is "between one man and one woman", anti choice, wants to Build A Wall
doug burgum - republican governor that has actively passed anti trans legislation, anti regulation (unless what you're regulating is trans people ig????)
chris christie - is apparently opposed to bans on gender affirming care, but vetoed a bill allowing trans people to change their gender marker, anti choice
ron desantis - i feel like i don't need to explain
larry elder - denies systemic racism and wants police to be harder on crime, anti crt and dei, pretty solidly anti trans
nikki haley - anti choice, extremely anti trans, anti immigrant, supports israel while also having an evangelical pastor who has a history of antisemitism and racism and queerphobia open for one of her events
will hurd - doesn't seem too horrendous, not noticeably anti trans, but supports 15 week abortion ban
asa hutchinson - great value brand trump
perry johnson - was republican candidate for governor of michigan but was disqualified due to fraudulent ballot signatures
mike pence - yeah
vivek ramaswamy - "anti wokeism", would pass a law requiring teachers to disclose to parents if they found out their kid is trans, supports bans on gender affirming care, wants to end sanctuary cities and address mental health through "faith based approaches", hedge fund bro
tim scott - said that america is not a racist country and the biggest problem facing black people is "fatherlessness incentivized by welfare", opposes same sex marriage and gender affirming care and thinks democrats are using school to "indoctrinate children"
corey stapleton - montana secretary of state, couldn't find much abt him
donald trump - donald trump
independent
cornel west (green party) - seems really cool actually but two party system will fuck him over
i hate the two party system so much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
also congrats to the dems for yet another milquetoast kennedy, and congrats to the republicans for having the most racially diverse list of racist and transphobic candidates!!!

2024 US Election Information
We have roughly 1 year until the 2024 US election. I've put in some research, and here are my conclusions.
TLDR for those of you who don't have time or focus: Cornel West (Democratic Socialist running as People's Party -> Green Party) is the ideal candidate to vote for - normally I wouldn't advocate voting third party, but we may actually have a shot for once, and he has excellent policies. Jill Stein (Green Party) is a potential backup, though if West drops out, our best option for Democratic party is Marianne Williamson.
Please spread this information, especially to residents of Texas, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona, Wisconsin, and Nevada. Detailed information under the cut.
Current Fascist and Republican Candidates
Donald Trump, Nikki Haley, Vivek Ramaswamy, Asa Hutchinson, Tim Scott, Ron DeSantis, Chris Christie, Ryan Binkley, and Doug Burgum.
I'm not going to entertain their details, but I will note that the information I picked up while being exposed to alt-right communities from the inside via my fascist parents earlier this year shows strong evidence that Republicans are likely going to split between Donald Trump, Ron DeSantis (viewed as a betrayal by Trump supporters), and openly fascist Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. (I'll cover him later).
My guess is a 6/3/1 Republican vote split between Trump/DeSantis/Kennedy, Jr..
Current Democratic Candidates
Joe Biden, Marianne Williamson, and Dean Philips.
Biden has overall failed to complete the majority of his campaign promises, and has been directly supporting Israel during the genocide of Palestine, as well as deferring to Republicans to be "bipartisan" (I don't think I have to stress enough that a bipartisan democrat is not a democrat) - do not vote for him.
Williamson is a high-school educated 71-year-old author from Los Angeles, California. She is known for being Oprah Winfrey's, "spiritual advisor," (double red flag), and dropped out during the 2020 election (another red flag).
While she supports the reinstatement of Roe v. Wade, the decriminalization of cannabis and psychedelic drugs, the reduction of CO2, and moving to 100% renewable energy by 2035, her advocacy for the outright banning of assault and semi-assault weapons for civilians without military reform of the same is a slight red flag when combined with her relationship with Oprah Winfrey (an Obama supporter, the president who authorized quite a lot of drone strikes in West Asia) and drop-out makes her not a great candidate.
Philips is a Bachelor's (Brown University) and Master's Business (University of Minnesota) educated 54-year-old three-term congressman who is noted for criticizing Biden running for a second term on account of both political moderacy and medical concerns.
Philips unfortunately wants to increase police funding for some reason, but advocated for better training, including mental health training. He also advocates for what he calls, "comprehensive immigration reform," in the form of increased border security and streamlining legal entry (this ignores the problem outlined by the UN that people seeking asylum are likely to have to enter a country illegally before they can seek support), and the only real good stance he has is giving reproductive rights to patients, rather than politicians.
Philips is essentially a moderate Republican, and is a bad candidate. Do not vote for him.
Current Independent Candidates
Fascist (not his stated political stance, but it's what he is)
Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. is a fascist that has openly quoted Nazi propaganda in his political campaigns, is an anti-vaccine activist, and has spread anti-science conspiracy theories such as vaccines causing autism and the non-existence of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. I cannot stress this enough, do not fucking vote for Kennedy, Jr.
Democratic Socialist
Cornel West is a Bachelor's (Harvard University), Master's, and Ph.D. (both Princeton University) educated 70-year-old progressive activist that switched his running party from the People's Party to the Green Party, despite being a both public- and self-described democratic socialist.
When asked why he wasn't running as a Democrat against Biden, he stated that, "Neither party is speaking to the pressing needs of poor and working people."
His party plans are a wealth tax on the rich, a national $27 minimum wage, a federal Universal Basic Income, 6 months of paid family leave, a 4-day work week, national free Pre-K childcare, "Immediate cessation of all oil and gas leasing projects on federal lands and waters," "Federal moratorium on fracking, carbon capture, and direct air capture technologies, geoengineering, and other false climate solutions," putting abortion rights in the Constitution, and nationalized healthcare.
Here's where I want to lay out something important. I normally wouldn't advocate for voting for a third party candidate due to the Spoiler Effect, but
Considering the United States' Democratic majority, popular vote records showing a common Republican minority, the absolutely incredible policies West stands for,
The growing support for third parties in the United States, and his policies aligning with public opinion,
Cornel West is the ideal candidate to vote for. Spread this information like wildfire - we may have one shot at the first third party win in US history in the upcoming 2024 election, and
If successful the dominant parties will be Fascist vs. Socialist, denying most, if not all, future Republican wins.
Our target toss-up states are Pennsylvania, Georgia, Arizona, Wisconsin, and Nevada.
Converting Texas to third party, or even just Democrat, will throw the Republican vote entirely and all but guarantee a Democrat, or hopefully third party, 2024 election win,
Which is absolutely possible, as Texas is majority Democrat and wins Republican votes via gerrymandering despite public opinion, which is why it swings occasionally.
Democrat states also need to be switched to majority third party votes, with particular emphasis on California, New York, and Illinois.
GET PEOPLE TO VOTE FOR CORNEL WEST!
Reference map of polling for the future 2024 election:
Tumblr media
Libertarian (slightly Conservative to alt-right, really depends on the person)
Chase Oliver is a surprisingly progressive high school educated 38-year-old anti-war Libertarian that left the Democratic party after witnessing Obama's aggressive anti-West Asian war policies who has expressed desires for criminal justice reform and ending wars abroad, though hasn't elaborated on either.
Green Party
Jill Stein is a Bachelor's (Harvard University) and Medical (Harvard Medical University) 73-year-old Jewish doctor who previously ran for and represented the Green-Rainbow Party as the governor of Massachusetts.
Stein is notable for being an activist and protestor who has both protested outside buildings and testified before legislative and other government bodies against coal plants, mercury leaks, and unclean and unsafe groundwater.
Presumably, her stances will focus on environmental protections, trans rights, and Jewish protections, making her a potential alternative should West drop out.
Conclusions:
Again, don't fucking vote for Trump, Haley, Ramaswamy, Hutchinson, Scott, DeSantis, Christie, Binkley, Burgum, Biden, Philips, or Kennedy, Jr..
Our potential backup Democratic candidate is Williamson.
The ideal candidate is West, with Stein as a viable backup.
As absurd as it sounds, I want you to vote third party for Cornel West.
If you want a wealth tax on the rich, a national $27 minimum wage, a federal Universal Basic Income,
6 months of paid family leave, a 4-day work week, national free Pre-K childcare,
"Immediate cessation of all oil and gas leasing projects on federal lands and waters," "Federal moratorium on fracking, carbon capture, and direct air capture technologies, geoengineering, and other false climate solutions,"
putting abortion rights in the Constitution, and nationalized healthcare,
VOTE FOR CORNEL WEST AND GET OTHER PEOPLE TO DO THE SAME.
WE HAVE A CHANCE AT THE FIRST THIRD PARTY WIN IN THE UNITED STATES AND THE DENIAL OF FUTURE REPUBLICAN WINS.

As Chris Keller would say, "Well well, well!". Look what came out about our favorite grifter Jill Stein just blurted out! 👀
Tumblr media
So she'd pardon those January 6th idiots and think it was "blown out of proportion"? Let's roll the footage and I'll let YOU guys decide if it was overblown or not:
Tumblr media
Now I've always been of the opinion that Jill Stein is not to be trusted since she LITERALLY goes MIA for three years and coincidentally comes back like ten months before an election but now you can honestly make the argument that a vote for her IS a vote for Donald Trump since WHO would want to pardon these LUNATICS???
Given that RFK Jr was LITERALLY revealed to be a gaslighting option to guilt people away from voting for the Dems like Cornel West is and with Jill Stein's ties to Russia being know, let's make sure we GET KAMALA HARRIS in the White House since she is LITERALLY the only thing preventing a Trump Dictatorship (since we KNOW he wouldn't relinquish immunity powers after 24 hours) or WORSE Dictator VANCE.
Here's the link to register to vote along with the voting registration deadline dates depending on the states you reside in and for some states they LITERALLY end in a couple of days so make sure to check and check it in the days AFTERWARDS since MAGA is purging voters of their registrations because they don't know how to win anything fairly!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And my fellow Dems have taken advantage of Early Voting which is great! Let's keep it up and here're the dates when Early Voting starts depending on the state you reside in!
And like I've emphasized; PLEASE do Mail in Ballots if you can! BUT if you do that option be VERY careful with your ballot and deposit them at the USPS Mailing Center to avoid MAGA fuckery! Now here's the link!
Should Kamala Harris win, I HOPE that old bitch Jill Stein is kicked out of the Green Party.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO NELLY
Cornell Iral Haynes Jr. (born November 2, 1974),better known by his stage name Nelly, is an American rapper. He grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, and embarked on his musical career with the Southern hip hop group St. Lunatics in 1993. He signed to Universal Records in 1999. Nelly began his solo career in 2000, with his commercial debut album Country Grammar, of which the featured title track and the single "Ride wit Me" were top 10 hits. The album peaked at number one on the US Billboard 200 chart, and became Nelly's best-selling album to date, selling over 8.4 million copies in the United States.[4] His following album Nellyville produced the number-one hits "Hot in Herre" and "Dilemma" (featuring Kelly Rowland), along with the top-five single "Air Force Ones" (featuring Murphy Lee and St. Lunatics).
With the same-day dual release of Sweat and Suit (2004) and the compilation Sweatsuit (2006), Nelly continued to generate many chart-topping hits. Sweat debuted at number two on the US Billboard 200 chart, selling 342,000 copies in its first week. In the same week of release, Suit debuted at number one, selling around 396,000 copies in its first week on the same chart. Nelly's fifth studio album, Brass Knuckles, was released in 2008 after several delays. It produced the singles "Party People" (featuring Fergie), "Stepped on My J'z" (featuring Jermaine Dupri and Ciara) and "Body on Me" (featuring Akon and Ashanti). In 2010, Nelly released the album 5.0. The lead single, "Just a Dream", was certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA); it also spawned the singles "Move That Body" (featuring T-Pain and Akon) and "Gone" (featuring Kelly Rowland).
Nelly has won multiple accolades throughout his career including three Grammy Awards and nine Billboard Music Awards. In 2005, he starred in the remake film The Longest Yard, alongside Adam Sandler and Chris Rock. He has two clothing lines, Vokal and Apple Bottoms. He has been referred to by Peter Shapiro as "one of the biggest stars of the new millennium", and as of 2014, Nelly was ranked as the fourth-best-selling rap artist in American music history, according to the RIAA, with 21 million albums sold in the United States. In December 2009, Billboard ranked Nelly the number three Top Artist of the Decade (2000s).

Experts Cringe At Billionaire’s Claim That MLK Would Have Opposed DEI Efforts
Chris Metzler, an expert on diversity, equity and inclusion, said he did not flinch when he learned that billionaire Bill Ackman had said Martin Luther King Jr., whose life was committed to civil and equal rights, would have “opposed” the ideology of DEI.
Metzler, who created certification courses in diversity, equity and inclusion, or DEI, at Georgetown and Cornell universities, called the remarks “just ridiculous, but not surprising. He and they — because he’s not alone in this — want to take the ‘content of your character’ part of that historic speech out of context to fit their narrative. It’s wrong.”
Ackman, a hedge fund manager, has been at the forefront of an effort to delegitimize DEI programs, and he was integral to the campaign to oust Claudine Gay as the president of Harvard University. Gay was the first Black person to hold that position. Ackman also wrote in a lengthy post on X that “DEI is racist.”
Now, King’s words are being twisted to promote anti-DEI messaging.
“I think Dr. King would be very opposed to this sort of ideology, even though, you know, diversity is a good thing, even though, of course, a culture where everyone feels comfortable and included is critically important,” said Ackman.
“Here’s the thing: The diversity that they want to focus on is white male,” said Metzler, who is Black and is writing a comprehensive book on DEI. “That’s it. Everything else really, really doesn’t matter to them. They want to talk about diversity of thought, which I think is important. The problem, however, is they want to style it as diversity of their thought, which is not inclusive.” -(source: nbc news)

Track of the Day!
Band: Treewax
Track: They Don’t Care
From the Album: Only Yesterday
Genre/s: Alternative Rock; Pop-Punk; Indie-Rock; Neo-Grunge
Country of Origin: Portugal
Released: 2023
A richly complex, yet melody-driven guitar riff kicks off this tune, reminiscent of the guitar-tone from the ‘Bandwagonesque’ era of Scottish Indie legends, Teenage Fanclub. The hanging mood though, is like a distant cousin of the more desolate corners of the ‘Let Me Come Over’ period of American Alternative Rock band, Buffalo Tom.
In a swirl of distortion feedback and flange, the tune kicks in proper, with a bombardment of elements. First, the bass, crunchy and annunciated, Punk-like but rocked-up…think again Alternative Rock: 80s Dinosaur Jr. crossed with Early 90s The Breeders with even a hint of Hardcore Punk; I immediately thought of DC Straight Edgers, Minor Threat and even a twist of Californian Art-Punks, Minutemen. Vocals are clear, dominant in the mix, but not enough to disservice the instrumentation. I could imagine this tune on the soundtrack of an early View Askewniverse movie, such as Clerks or Mallrats, rubbing shoulders with tracks by bands like Seaweed or Weezer. There’s a pure, down-to-earth integrity both lyrically and in the emotional delivery of these. By taking this approach, a listener can identify completely with what the vocalist is conveying. Vocals and guitar meshing and harmonising together to create a nice little hook is employed perfectly here…an approach often used in the Seattle Grunge Scene, from Kurt Cobain of Nirvana to Chris Cornell of Soundgarden.
The vocals then transform harmonically, into a more 50s Rockabilly-inspired approach, with an echoing or repeat of the main vocal. This was often seen in the 90s with Power-Pop Alt-Rock bands such as Fountains of Wayne or The Lemonheads. Treewax eschew any ambiguity in their lyrics and are unpretentious in their content, tapping into raw emotions and train of thought/stream of consciousness inspired words rather than something more flowery or poetic…think Husker Du and The Wedding Present.
The backing harmonies become subtly raw-edged, building tension and emotion in an understated Rock-way…I immediately thought of Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters and the vocal techniques he uses.
A breakdown/progression into a xylophone and flute (possibly Melotron) guided middle eight creates a Led Zep IV meets Mercury Rev vibe, before vocals leap between a soft Thom Yorke of Radiohead patter, a tortured Layne Staley of Alice in Chains yarl and a Chris Cornell-esque scream.
The vocals give way to a guitar solo that is short, sweet and understated, it warbles out of Rock expectations from a robust Kings of Leon guitar-line to a more unhinged bluesy Mudhoney Grungy solo.
The vocals guide the crunchy bass, fuzzy and fizzy guitars & walloping drums to a bang of an ending.

My photos from the Chris Cornell statue unveiling at MoPop in Seattle. The last photo is of Lily, Toni, Vicky, and Chris Jr. beside the statue. I also saw Ben Shepherd, Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron, and Jeff Ament at the ceremony, but couldn’t get any good photos of them.
