I can see what you're saying but outside of them both being cults there isn't much I see similar about them. I think Hori made the Redestro cult feel a little more American by design and probably took inspiration from irl cults like Scientology, but more likely he took inspiration from comic book organizations like the Brotherhood from X-Men since Hori loves him some capeshit.
