So remembered an animatic that said every Ladybug holder was destined to abandon their Black Cat and they'd never see each other again. So I quickly threw together a set of curses for all the Chinese Box.
Ladybug - They are destined to always die alone with their goals unaccomplished
Black Cat - They are fated to always be abandoned by the person they hold closest
Fox - They are fated to always destroy the person they love most
Turtle - When it counts most they won’t be able to protect those they hold most dear
Bee - They are fated to drive others away at their most vulnerable
Butterfly - They are fated to have their good intentions twisted sour
Peacock - They are fated to put their faith and love into the wrong person and destroy themselves
Snake - At the end of things, they will always end up alone
Dragon - They are fated to never have the strength they most need
Bunny - They are destined to see the worst fates of their friends repeat over and over again with no chance to save them
Tiger - They are destined to always squeeze too tight and break those they love
Pig - Their kindness and desire to help will be their downfall
Mouse - They are fated to feel the weight of every task and eventually be crushed by it
Ox - They are cursed to be destroyed by their own growing doubt
Horse - They are fated to always be a moment too slow and be ruined by it
Monkey - Their happiness will come at the cost of the misery of others
Goat - They will be consumed by their passion and desires
Dog - They will devote their lives to a goal and only in their last moments realize they were wrong
Rooster - The people they hold closest will be unreachable
My rough idea is that the Miraculous of the Chinese Miracle Box are so powerful that their magic naturally backlashes onto the user in the form of a curse. So if someone wears a Miraculous for too long, they will be doomed to the curse even if they take it off.

The Community Box 2025
Greetings y'all, this page will contain this year's kwamis, which is 11. All of these are mutuals/friends of mine, so go check them out as they're all cool people, but with that sorted here they are.
Fox Miraculous
Concept: Mirth
Jewelry: Charm Bracelet
Kwami: Jovv
Weapon: Hula-Hoop
Power: Yippee - When activated, the area surrounding the user will fill with an aura that lifts spirits, making everyone inside laugh and joyful. This will also defuse any tenseness or aggressiveness within targets.
Transformation Phrases: "Playtime!" "Naptime."
Hero Alias (Holder): Bella (@authorambermkestner)
Worm Miraculous
Concept: Persistence
Jewelry: Segment Ring
Kwami: Mullch
Weapon: Whip Sword
Power: Coat - When activated, a coat of slime surrounds the user, making them both physically and mentally immune to attacks. However, their slime can fall off, which in turn reduces their power, so the less slime they have, the weaker their immunity.
Transformation Phrases: "Press On!" "Withdraw."
Hero Alias (Holder): Bottom Feeder (@redtriangle)
Bunny Miraculous
Concept: Curiosity
Jewelry: Carrot Pin
Kwami: Currio
Weapon: Pickaxe
Power: Seek - When activated, the user can find anything or anyone no matter where they are. After activating their powers, they must say the name of the person or object, and they will know the exact location. The only things that cannot be precisely pinpointed are magical beings and objects and will give only a rough estimate of where they are.
Transformation Phrases: "Hop To It!" "Take A Nap."
Hero Alias (Holder): Lady Hops (@kittysuicoffee)
Bat Miraculous
Concept: Perception
Jewelry: Brooch
Kwami: Ecco
Weapon: Baton
Power: Aware - When activated, the user goes into a state of hyperawareness. This allows them to notice everything around them in detail that a normal person wouldn't. The only downside is that they may experience sensory overload if activated too long.
Transformation Phrases: "Stay Vigilant!" "Roost."
Hero Alias (Holder): Dhampir (@naturegreenr-2)
Draught Horse Miraculous
Concept: Strength
Jewelry: Belt Buckle
Kwami: Drayy
Weapon: Barbell
Power: Bulk - When activated, the user's whole body begins to grow in size. They become larger and stronger than all other holders in this stage. However, they do begin to deflate over time and shrink back to their original form.
Transformation Phrases: "Haul Ass!" "Breaktime."
Hero Alias (Holder): Dobbin (@bakawitch)
Cat Miraculous
Concept: Solitude
Jewelry: Choker Necklace
Kwami: Purr
Weapon: Teaser Wand
Power: Purr-Vacy - When activated, the user essentially becomes a ghost. They're invisible, intangible, and immune to all forms of detection and physical harm. They can't, however, interact with anything on the physical plane unless they turn off their power. They can only toggle this power up to five times before the user detransforms.
Transformation Phrases: "Stray Off!" "Pspspsps."
Hero Alias (Holder): Stray (@kari-go)
Hamster Miraculous
Concept: Possession
Jewelry: Fanny Pack
Kwami: Nibbs
Weapon: Chakram
Power: Pouch - When activated, the user can access the pocket dimension inside of their fanny pack. They can store items for safekeeping or even beings to trap inside. Even if they detransform, the items/beings will still be in there until the holder reactivates the power to take them out.
Transformation Phrases: "Nom Nom!" "Spit Out."
Hero Alias (Holder): Rodent Tooth (@fabseg-creator)
Hedgehog Miraculous
Concept: Adaptability
Jewelry: Spiked Cuff
Kwami: Quill
Weapon: Javelin
Power: Alter - When activated, the user can transform the environment around them. The user must have a clear idea of how they want the terrain to look, and it only affects a five-mile radius. They also know how to traverse the terrain with ease, knowing every detail about it.
Transformation Phrases: "Curl Up!" "Unfold."
Hero Alias (Holder): Spindash (@adventuremaker21)
Cricket Miraculous
Concept: Harmony
Jewelry: C-Clef Necklace
Kwami: Chiirp
Weapon: Viola w/ Bow
Power: Melody - When activated, the user plays their instrument and fills those who hear their melody with emotions. This power can be used to either aid your allies or hinder your opponents. However, if the user is interrupted by their performance, then the power disappears in an instant.
Transformation Phrases: "Let's Start the Show!" "Let's Take a Bow."
Hero Alias (Holder): Minstrel (@itskarmalonekar)
Chinese Dragon Miraculous
Concept: Authority
Jewelry: Laurel Crown
Kwami: Legiss
Weapon: Guqin
Power: Decree - When activated, the user can create a rule that affects a single target or an area for multiple targets to follow. The user plays their Guqin while reciting what rule they want in order to activate it. However, if the user wants to create a new rule, then the old one will no longer be in effect, as only one rule can be active.
Transformation Phrases: "To the Heavens!" "Down to Earth."
Hero Alias (Holder): Yuheng (Akay)
Penguin Miraculous
Concept: Community
Jewelry: Anklet
Kwami: Noot
Weapon: Paddle
Power: Link - When activated, the user can telepathically communicate with others. They can use this power up to five times with different targets; however, every time they use it, they subtract another minute from their timer.
Transformation Phrases: "Huddle!" "Disperse."
Hero Alias (Holder): Snowdrop (@dennistherabbitfan7)

I’m sure I’m shouting into the void with this question since I don’t really have that many followers, but is anyone aware of a “theme” between the secondary Miraculous jewels in the main box (Fox, Turtle, Bee, Peacock, Butterfly)? Because they seem like rather random selections to me, especially when the rest of the box has explicit ties to Chinese concepts (Yin & Yang, Chinese zodiac). I’m not even close to an expert on Chinese culture, so if there is a connection, I’d love to be made aware of it, but right now I’m drawing a huge blank
EDIT: some others were kind enough to give a few explanations in the comments and reblogs, so please check those out if you’re interested! :)

Hi Neil,
I hope this doesn't get buried in the ask box, but if it does, I'll still be glad I sent this, just to know this little lengthy slice of complement and thanks existed in your inbox is enough. I apologize for the length, I am pretty sure the grammar is in tatters...and probably just the general awkwardness in advance.
Frist of all, congratulations for Good Omens Season2, it's a roaring success even here in this...I don't know, bottomless pit? I myself and some others fondly call it the PRC. The show didn't made pass the firewall officially, neither was Prime Video. People still managed to watch it eventually by VPNs, shared accounts and when times are desperate...sorry, piracy. Chinese fans, including myself, using every tool in the shed to try to fool Amazon™ and our goverment, just to watch this on Prime and try to help to manifest S3, is one hell of an experience. This kind of experience is pathetic, ridiculous....and somehow hilarious in a dark, gallows humor way, almost like some bad spy comedy, I just have to share it. Worth all the trouble by the way, the reward at the end of the back channel is...well, some divine comedy to say the very least. All in all, it's a brilliant show and a solid job well-done.
Then some of my personal gratitude. They say good art resonates with your soul, I now know this is just as true as matter and gravity. Since I know Good Omens certainly resonated with mine. I'll redact the typical "depression and anxiety reduced me to a husk, a shadow of my former self" story and get to the result for brevity's sake. I can't write anything meaningful while I know I took joy in writing, I can't finish reading anything longer than a brochure while I know I was such a bookworm in the past. Then I was compelled to get up in the middle of the night, wrote a full 5000 character long analysis after marathoned S2, and then write even more analyses in both Chinese and English. I picked up American Gods because I know I need more Neil Gaiman in my life and then impressed by myself for actually finishes it the second time 5 years later. I didn't know how exactly that happened through one watch of a TV show, but I know I am changed for the better. I grasped life again, and can start living again, somehow. The resonation just keeps on giving.
This is a quiet, gentle and romantic story, it is soothing, accepting, filled to the brim with love and kindness, and it makes me feel safe and accepted and loved in a way I never felt before. I thank you for it, and hope thart I may have the privlige to witness more of this miracle. Thank you Neil, Sir Terry Pratchett and the team for this miraculous book and this miraculous show.
谢谢。(I just had to say thanks with my mother tongue, it feels more earnest this way)
Thank you so much! I'm impressed by everything you and your countryfolk have gone through to watch it as legitimately as you could.

Okay so I think it's time for another spaghetti theory:
Lilamoth isn't collecting moms. She's collecting sisters (or siblings)
Let me explain my thought process here. So a big complaint the fandom has is that we don't have a proper rogue gallery for villains. It's just the butterfly, and nothing else. It worked for early seasons, but things might be getting stale for some folks.
Enter new characters connected to Lilamoth somehow.
So she has 3 moms so far (that we know about.) All but one have something in common: dark hair and blue eyes.
From left to right we have Mrs. Rossi (red), Mrs. Bianca (white), and her third mother who is deaf could possibly be Mrs. Verdi (green).
Then we have this fourth lady that we see Lilamoth watching on her phone in the season 5 finale. I would NOT be surprised if Odille is going to be her 4th mom. Dark hair and blue eyes, and she is also disabled, just like her third mom.
(And I would not be surprised if we find out her surname is Nero (black), or Viola (violet). More on that aspect of this crack theory in a bit...)
Anyway, back to the concept of a rogues gallery. In the finale we see Lila in a disguise that 's VERY reminiscent of one of her moms:
Certainly she can't expect to disguise herself as a woman in her 30's-40's, and especially not with glasses and bangs. But she can pass reasonably as a teenage girl with a dark bob and glasses. You know, a sister.
So we know a certain main character whose name is in the title and wears red with black polkadots has dark hair and blue eyes. We don't know Lilamoth's motivations and and end goal, but we can surmise that she wants to take the place of Marinette.
(And I KNOW I've seen at least one other person theorize this, and I cannot find the post(s) so if you can find it please let me know so I can link it here!)
The pictures we see is one of Marinette with her classmates on the Liberty where Zoe is accepted in the friend group, Marinette with her parents, 3 pictures of Marinette with Kagami, and one picture of Marinette with Luka.
It's interesting to note that there isn't a picture of Marinette and Adrien together shown to the audience. You'd think they'd emphasize that, but no, it's mostly Kagami. I know it's because it's because the episode focuses on Kagami, but still. Other than her, it's just Marinette's parents, Zoe and Luka (Luka! Marinette's ex!) showcased in the closeup screenshot.
I got sidetracked! Anyway, I think other than similar coloring (and color-themed surnames haha) Lilamoth is trying to find other teenagers who are willing to join forces with her. She probably will get her hands on some Miraculous for them, somehow. But I don't think the new jewels will be from the Chinese box.
Here's where things start REALLY going off the rails with this theory:
All of Lilamoth's rogue gallery of villains are her adopted sisters (or siblings) and they are all Luka's exes. He's got a type for Italians with dark hair and blue eyes...
Going back to the surnames, all the surnames have something in common: they share the colors of all of Adrien's various transformations over the course of the series so far:
Rossi: Mister Bug
Bianca: Chat Blanc
Verdi: Aspik
We're just missing Chat Noir (could possibly will be the surname Nero, as it's Italian)
and Ephemeral (it's interesting to note that the surname Lee in Chinese can mean plum, which of course, is purple)
So naturally, my crack theory circles back to Lukadrien is endgame.
Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk.
{{{{{{Edit as of April 3, 2024.}}}}}
I will NOT be surprised if this girl with black hair in an extremely recognizable style is a disguise of another sister.
Is Lilamoth collecting blackmail to manipulate them later? She's very obviously walking disguised in areas where there would be lots of cameras (The inside of the Agreste mansion, and the hotel).
(Edit as of April 27, 2024!)
Now we know the synopsis of the London Special, I believe the disguises are to hide Lilamoth's tracks because she knows Maribug's identity. Bonus points if these girls were previous Ladybugs in past time lines that Lilamoth stole the identities of...
[[[Edit: May 4, 2024]]]
I think I found the names of the previous Ladybugs: Marina, Shone, and Mio. (Please enjoy a silly extremely rough draft of where I'd personally go with the show)
As for the rest of the spray paint on the walls, this mural is an actual feature of the Paris Catacombs:
And while I think that most of the other tags on the wall are functionally meaningless and just there for ambiance, I do find the 777-777 tag to be of note. 7 Ladybugs till Lilamoth's goal? What's the deal with the arrows and the floating away 3 7's? Are 3 already "gone"??? Fascinating stuff! My mind is reeling!
[Edit for May 6, 2024]
Possibly figured out the source of the lightning in the season 5 finale. For whatever reason it's not showing up in the tags lmfao tungle is a functional website
#not gonna be surprised if one of Luka's exes is that Adam guy from the noncanon comics that have access to early plot points#he was akumatized with time manipulation powers and was defeated with a hand mirror#naturally I gotta point out the obvious: Viperion and Second Chance and Kagami means mirror#there's no way one of Luka's at least 4 exes isn't a dude#Someone ask me about the band Luka's exes form in dedication to Ladybug and how that ties back to Luka being Bob Roth's newest rockstar#miraculous ladybug#lila rossi#cerise bianca#iris verdi#adrien agreste#marinette dupain cheng#cat noir#chat noir#luka couffaine#kagami tsurugi#miraculous ladybug theory#lukadrien#marigami#yeah marigami is endgame too#ml theory#miraculous ladybug season 6#ladybug season 6#miraculous world london#chronobug and the ghosts of the past

This is something that's been on my mind for a bit, but is there anything Marinette is technically bad at? Stammering around Adrien doesn't count, and the only thing I can think of is Frozer, where Marinette needed Luka's help to skate.
She's an expert gamer, apparently an amazing baker, a fashion virtuoso, a mechanical engineer (her diary box and her sewing kit with the Miracle Box in it), a perfect leader, an incredible artist, the best Guardian, and God knows what else. She was even able to adapt to different miraculous powers, have little trouble fighting with new weapons, and just acquire new skills in a snap. Literally, during Kagami's debut episode, she was also able to adapt to fencing really easily.
The question is, are there any instances that at least prove me wrong? I hope so, because Marinette has always struck me as the kind of protagonist where they just slap on skill after skill as the plot requires, and my opinion on this show is already so low....
Well, she does struggle to speak Mandarin Chinese, so that's something.

Sometimes I wish that the show expanded on the miraculous lore instead of the love square drama. I mean, of course it's a rom-com at it's core but it's also a magical girl anime. Sailor Moon did a pretty good job juggling the two.
Anyways, I've been trying to make some headcanons that might fit the show given that they've given us crumbs. I would love to hear your thoughts about it.
1. There's a secret society or elite clubs where they're hoarding or possibly hunting for miraculouses. Which is why the guardians haven't been able to retrieve most of them.
2. The Order at Tibet isn't the only one. There's at least one order at every continent to keep an eye on the Miraculous/Kwami.
3. Master Fu just assumed that the kwamis in the Chinese Miracle Box are 'Chinese' but they are a collection of different miraculouses from different miracle boxes. (Maybe he also just named it as the Chinese Miracle Box because of their temple's location.
4. Some people who are akumatized are able to remember some of what they did. And some akumatized people still have bits of their transformation. Just to show that the power of ladybug isn't enough and that creation needs destruction in order to cure the damage during akuma battles.
5. Some of the kwamis are interrelated or that their forms aren't just one. They said that kwamis are born from concepts. And human belief/faith, is another form of concepts. So the kwamis physical form shouldn't be just one.
6. The sentihumans 'human body' cannot be destroyed nor die unless their amok is destroyed (show canon) so even when they die, they'll either reconstruct a new body or resurrect.
7. What do you think of kwamis that are related to sins, virtues, seasons, religion, and the soul? Since they are technically concepts so there should be kwamis of them.
Hope you enjoy this ask tbh. I just saw one of your post and couldn't help but ask you this.
-Rian
These were really fun! I'll give some notes on my three favorites.
Some people who are akumatized are able to remember some of what they did. And some akumatized people still have bits of their transformation. Just to show that the power of ladybug isn't enough and that creation needs destruction in order to cure the damage during akuma battles.
That would be an interesting way to use Destruction! I've always took the stance that Chat Noir should have a sister power that gets used whenever an akuma leaves something that needs cleaning up, but using it to destroy memories of people being used by the villain certainly has potential. I'm normally pretty against the destruction of memories, but it's hard to see a good argument for people being forced to remember something like an akumatization. I think most people would want to forget that or maybe the power would only work if people wanted to forget. Curious if others agree.
Some of the kwamis are interrelated or that their forms aren't just one. They said that kwamis are born from concepts. And human belief/faith, is another form of concepts. So the kwamis physical form shouldn't be just one.
Hard agree. I think the kwamis forms should all be a thing they chose that then inspired human legends. This explains the tie between the kwamis and myths while also justifying the mismatch between the powers and the myths. For example, black cats being bad luck came from Plagg's existence, but is obviously not right because Plagg is Destruction, not Bad Luck. A previous holder just got on the wrong side of the church back in the Middle Ages and now here we are.
The sentihumans 'human body' cannot be destroyed nor die unless their amok is destroyed (show canon) so even when they die, they'll either reconstruct a new body or resurrect.
Hard agree on this one, too. One of the many reasons why I didn't think the sentitheory was real was the fact that Adrien was a squishy normal human as we saw in Riposte:
Adrien: Watch out Ladybug! (He dives at her and they roll out of danger right before Riposte could skewer Ladybug.) Ouch! (Adrien holds his hurt ankle.) Ladybug: Are you hurt? Adrien: I'm fine.
He spends a good chunk of this episode limping around when it should have been used to hint that he can't be hurt because he's not a real human.
What do you think of kwamis that are related to sins, virtues, seasons, religion, and the soul? Since they are technically concepts so there should be kwamis of them.
I personally think that canon went way too abstract on the kwamis. As written in canon, yes, there should be kwamis for all of the things you listed, but that's a little insane in my book. Way too many powers and kwamis to deal with! Because canon isn't about tracking down infinite kwamis, I'd make the concepts way more limited. I'd also have the kwamis be created by Tikki and not just a thing that happens. The tracking-down-kwamis-like-clow-cards route is the only route in which I'd keep canon's current lore.

Updated kwami designs of Plagg and Tikki for my miraculous ladybug rewrite on Ao3 and Wattpad (oh my god it's like 59 chapters long I'm going feral) It's got 239,874 words rn and idk if that actually makes it the longest thing I've ever written... If it is, idk if I should feel sad for myself or impressed lmao
I got my first hate comment focused on their designs a couple weeks ago and it was because I made all of them Chinese... They wanted racial representation but bro, worldbuilding, they're all from china. I made other miracle boxes. The north american one is various american indigenous races. Suck my toe lol.
The other complaints I get are that Dusuu is a boy in my fic. Idk what to say, he's my son now. Crybaby boy. Giving him forehead kisses. He's the Reiner to my Hajime Isayama, the Sukuna to my Gege Akutami.

According to what we're told, using a Miraculous for selfish reasons has serious consequences. And as I just found out, that aligns with the Daoist view on magic and demons (alongside so many influenced by Chinese culture, such as Japan): in a VERY abridged summary, magic is to use one's qi to force reality to bend to their will, and a selfish use is dark magic, that brings the user closer and closer to animals and demons (the latter of which are defined by the use of dark magic and abysmal self control), until they exist to satisfy only their ego and lust for power through the imbalance on their qi that they generated by using dark magic for so long.
It's perfect for the series, and it fits the Daoist theme of the Chinese Miracle Box and neatly explains both Gabriel's progressive fall into villainy (he progressively went more and more demonic) and why Felix was redeemed (his intentions being good and selfless the very act of using the Miraculous knocked sense into him)... And yet I know it's a complete accident, as they put the Miraculous Temple in Tibet and thus made the Order a MAHAYANA BUDDHIST organization.
For someone who looks closely to the lore like myself, it's infuriating.
I mean the problem there is genuinely just re; Gabe vs Felix in both had motivations that had one foot in the darkness and the other in a Hello Kitty rollerskate when it comes to selfish and good intentions.

Actually, I’m not done with my Everyone is a Time Traveler AU. To follow up, everyone being time travelers explains all the historical anachronisms. It’s all intertemporal pollution and debris. Crocs and studded belts and songs from the 1940s and buttercream and living in someone’s head rent free. This is what happens when too many time travelers converge on the same point in Spacetime.
And yes some of the crew still believe in curses and fairies and crystals and gremlins. So do real NASA scientists and plane pilots. Anyway, if time travel exists, who’s to say other things can’t? Best not to risk it. Some of the crew might also be from even earlier time periods, pulled into the 1700s by wormholes or the Bermuda Triangle.
By the way, I’m putting Buttons down for believing in the theory that all moments in Time, past, present, and future, are equally and simultaneously real, and we merely experience these moments in successive order, creating the sense of a passage of time(B-theory more or less). He describes Time as a great sea.” The crew never knows, when he’s talking about his love of the sea, if he means the actual wet thing or Time.
I’m also putting Izzy down for believing Time is set in stone and can’t be changed. The details may vary, but the big things always happen. It’s why Stede Bonnet and then Ed going off-script disturbs him so much. It’s why he pushes Ed, why he’s resigned to the raids, why even when he tries to finally talk Ed down and change the direction things are headed, a part of him already knows he’s about to be shot. Finally, finally, finally, he figures it out. It takes turning everything he believed for the last several decades on its ear, shaking the foundation of everything he knows, but he finally gets that some things don’t change—can’t change—but some things can. Some things do. And you have to accept when it does.
Also, I’m going to double down on Ed and Stede having to become time travelers for Plot Convenient Reasons because then they can split up and each hit a different moment in time.
More about Ed and Stede’s Excellent Adventure under the Read More because this is getting wordy. I basically wrote a fic under here. Enjoy.
Picture Ed in a terrifying metal box as lights flash and things make scary noises, or perhaps being outfitted with a fancy time travel bracer with lots of fancy buttons and knobs he’s not to touch under any circumstance—and then suddenly he’s dropping into the ocean. He pulls himself up onto a ship to find himself witnessing the tail end of a raid. He sees Ivan on the deck unmoving amongst the bodies. He sees himself boarding the Revenge, back turned.
He thinks for a brief moment about ending it all right then and there. He could kill his past self. Change everything. Save everyone. It’s not like he exactly likes the guy, right? He’s had this exact dream before even.
But then what happens? Buttons—who was admittedly a seagull at the time but Ed is trying not to question it because he’s already half-convinced it was a dream—warned him about this. He can change certain events, but things might not work out the way he expects or wants. What if Izzy picks up the mantle of Blackbeard and dies for the legend? What if Stede never finds him and keeps searching until he ends up hung by the British or on a Chinese pirate ship with an ominously ticking clock? What if—
Ivan. What he can do is save Ivan. That’s why he’s here. The crew wasn’t sure exactly where or when Ivan died, the raids were all a blur after a while you know? But Ed knew. He remembered Ivan died on the 82nd day of consecutive raiding two hours after noon bell, and he remembered he made everyone get back on the Revenge because he couldn’t stand to let himself or any of the crew show weakness and he didn’t want to watch Ivan die. So he doesn’t know what’s about to happen next. He doesn’t know Ivan survives or that he’s disguised as the sole surviving sailor of the raided merchant ship which somehow miraculously limps its way to a village coastline. The folks say the ship sailed itself. Others say it was Calypso or spirits. Certainly couldn’t have been the half-dead man who apparently hauled himself down to the surgeon’s quarters and patched himself up in the nick of time.
Stede, meanwhile, is also unceremoniously dumped in the sea beside a vacant Revenge anchored in the bay of the currently besieged Republic of Pirates. He wants to charge in and save the day, but, well, he’s already doing that in a sense. For better or for worse. Instead, he hides down in the kitchen and waits. He waits until a harried and very familiar blond man in a naval uniform comes barreling in looking for medical supplies. He’s not looking for a rolling pin to the back of the head. Stun move.
When Stede comes back up, his clothes are rumpled, his hair is a mess and doesn’t quite look the right cut, he’s hauling a covered box, but no one notices. They do notice when he drags Roach over and tells him to save Izzy, interrupting him in the middle of his very important last words to a distraught Ed.
Stede tells a pale, sweating, dying Izzy that he hasn’t been given permission to retire yet, and if he’ll kindly recall, Stede is the captain now and he’ll follow his orders.
Roach tries to explain there’s nothing to be done, he doesn’t have the tools (because they don’t exist yet), only to have Stede start pulling out said tools to everyone’s confusion. A scalpel and forceps from a one-man spaceship escape pod, sunk off the coast of Jamaica. Sealed packets of gauze from an apocalypse survivor’s hidden bug-out bag. Vials of antibiotics, tetanus vaccine, and pain killers from a boat caught in a strange storm years ago. an IV drip from a one-man vessel built to test a spacefold engine. A glass tube with a plunger and a big, wicked-looking needle on it that really is quite awful but it was the best anyone could hope to fashion in 1720 based on provided sketches and descriptions. Stede asks if this will work. Roach lights up. It’s a little concerning. But a good sign. Hopefully.
Ivan finds Ed and Stede a few months later.
He’d heard about the inn. He tells Ed about how he remembers seeing two of him. He waves off any attempt at an explanation. He doesn’t need it. Probably for the best he doesn’t know. He’s just glad Ed got his shit sorted out.
He’s relieved to hear Izzy survived, too. He thinks it’s funny Izzy would go and give a big dramatic death speech only to survive. That’d just be his luck. No wonder he’s run off with the crew instead of sticking around.
Ed admits he doesn’t know what to do with his feelings. Izzy is alive, but for a while there he wasn’t and neither was Ivan. He bottled up so much of the pain, hung onto it. At the same time, he did grieve. They were gone. But now they’re alive and what’s he supposed to do with it all?
Ivan figures there’s probably a world where they did die, and it’s alright for Ed to hurt over that, but they’re alive here and now and so he can put that pain aside. In a parallel of the lesson Izzy learned, Ivan points out you have to recognize what you can change, accept what you can’t. That’s all anyone can do.
Meanwhile Stede has an idea he got from the crew for a big outdoor bath as an amenity for the inn. A pool, Lucius had called it. Very popular in the future. A must-have for any successful hotel. Big tiled thing like the Romans used, with reclining wooden lounges and umbrellas all around. It’ll need plenty of cleaning, though. Lucius made sure he knew it was the done thing in Rome and thus in the future as well to have attractive men in very little clothing attend to such duties. Well, when in Rome!

Hello, Gremlins :3
Due to all the hype for Miraculous S6, I'm in the creative spirit, so I'm bringing back the Community Box challenge I did last year where I asked my friends/mutuals to give me something and I would try to create it into a miraculous. For this year's box, we have some new faces I asked them to provide me with an animal this time around, and to make it a bit more interesting I said they could choose an animal from the Mother Box and I would have to remake it into something else. Let's see what this year has to offer?
The Gremlins Participating :3
@adventuremaker21: Hedgehog
@kittysuicoffee: Bunny
@authorambermkestner: Fox
@naturegreenr-2: Bat
@itskarmalone: Cricket
@bakawitch: Draught Horse
@kari-go: Cat
@fabseg-creator: Hamster
@redtriangle (chosen by others for him): Worm
Akay: Chinese Dragon
@dennistherabbitfan7: Penguin

Expanded Miraculous Changes to Canon Miraculous
So with this post, it sent me down a little rabbit hole just thinking about Chinese Miraculous and how they're set up, and this want to just, try and make them work. Make them make sense.
As one of the big major issues for Miraculous is that, they just exist. And that's it. Only thing we truly know is that they, for sure, are meant to be used for good, and were used to help humanity.
But we don't have anything on why. Why are certain Miraculous grouped together? Why are Ladybug and Cat yin-yang? Why are the 5 specifically based on Wu Xing? Why are the Seven grouped together? Why are the Zodiac grouped together? Did they come before or did they inspire the Legend of the Zodiac Race? What is the role of all Miraculous? What do these groups do that's different from each other?
We just don't have these answers.
So the idea behind this post is to just, delve into plausible lore and given some idea. Some of which will just work off what I've thought about before.
The Zodiac
The Zodiac I think would've best served working off individual growth. Tying them to virtues could be great as there are a lot of virtues out there, but there's also a lot that are similar in meaning. And it can work off the Zodiac tied to personality traits and certain animals embody certain virtues, like Dog can be tied to Loyalty, Rooster to Honesty, Pig to Wisdom, Ox to Determination, Goat to Creativity, ect..
It can nicely add to what Zodiac should go to who, who needs to learn these virtues.
The Bagua
Since The Shanghai Special brought up the Prodigious tied to Bagua, which is apart of Taoism and tied to Wu Xing and yin-yang, and it was a prior concept plan for Miraculous; Bagua did feel fitting to be Miraculous and apart of the Chinese Miracle Box. It does expand the numbers, bumping the 19 to 27/28, but there is also solid background to work off of that can make it plausible to exist. Additionally, there are a few animals that should exist as Miraculous when tied to China that have yet to appear (like Bear, Crane, Deer, Lion, Mantis, and Eagle).
Core idea is that these Miraculous would bring forth what Bagua represents, covering what people may want or what they need.

Bear represents family, ancestry, and foundation. It comes to assist those who feel isolated.
Fish is tied to wealth, prosperity, and opportunity. Coming to those who are in need of financial aid.
Songbird is tied to reputation, expression, and fame. Coming to those who desire to be known or to change perspective.
Crane is tied to romantic love, union, and kinship; seeking to be the matchmaker and to help those desire love find love.
Deer is tied to creativity, inspiration, and projects; to help boost productivity, find inspiration, and inspire creation (it does technically stand for children and the future, but it's not easy to do a Miraculous power related to that).
Eagle is tied to travel, community, and guidance. Working off those in need of freedom, connection, or a change of pace.
Lion is tied to purpose, change, and ambition; helping those find their calling.
Mantis is tied to knowledge, learning, and wisdom; seeking to help those expand their perspective.
The maybe bonus, Snake (with Sass made to be a Cobra instead), the possible unofficial 9th member of the Bagua, reflecting balance, duality, vitality, and energy. Comes to those in need of harmony or energy. Partly incorporated Snake as it's one of those animals that has a lot to it and you could do a lot with, so might be nice to have more for it. It's a reason I dabble in the snake renling yesterday. And given the 9th slot of Bagua represents yin-yang, I thought of a possible additional unique role this could play...
The Seven
The Seven I'm thinking should have the role tied to being THE defenders and preservers of humanity, fighting for the greater good and keeping balance. Typically, the focus is fighting for the greater good, and individual growth and needs aren't as prioritized (you can still learn and grow with them, it's just not a kwami priority in contrast to the Zodiac and Bagua kwamis).
And to play off yin-yang exists everywhere, and Wu Xing is heavily tied to the concept and goes through cycles, the idea is that, as a safeguard against the wish, who are the wish granting duo will alternate by lunar year, and all would have themes to work off recreating reality:
Ladybug and Cat are Creation and Destruction.
Butterfly and Bee are Chaos and Order.
Fox and Peafowl are Deception and Truth.
Turtle doesn't have a set counterpart in the Seven, and instead is meant to be the mediator and peacekeeper between conflicting pairs.
Potentially, Turtle could also be a key in undoing a wish, and if there's the unofficial 9th member of Bagua that is the Snake, that could be Turtle's counterpart and help undo a wish made.
If this Snake was more Ouroborus themed (and Sass was more music based), given power ideas I had in mind for Turtle, these two could echo Time and Space. Which can be big enough concepts you can get them being split into two different groups, but you can also get them having the ability to undo a recreate reality.
Extra bonus that Turtle and Snake are a pair in Chinese mythology, commonly counted together in the Four Symbols.

And both are tied to creation myths in China, which has another turtle and snake mentioned together with Nuwa (creator goddess who is a human headed snake) and Ao (world turtle); though their relation isn't so pleasant in contrast to the Black Turtle.
To those who stopped to read, thanks for reading. Hopes this helps give something more to Miraculous and the groups that exist/can exist. As I feel all Miraculous are lacking in individuality and it wouldn't hurt to have defined rolls or purpose to them.

I know that in miraculous ladybug the Chinese miracle box represents the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac and the zodiac stone from minions rise of gru also represents the 12 animals of the Chinese zodiac so I decided to add the vicious 6 next to the kwamis and the symbols of the animals they turn into via the zodiac stone.
As you can tell belle bottom is with longg the dragon kwami, stronghold is with stomp the ox kwami, svengeance is with roarr the tiger kwami, jean clawed is with xuppu the monkey kwami, and nun-chuck is with sass the snake kwami.
Now I want to make a fanfic about the vicious 6 stealing the miracle box and then using the miraculouses to fight ladybug and cat noir.
