Tantrum
Not Coffin art lol but I wonder the reason why I love tcoaal so much was because it reminds me of old Katy Towell’s work, I’ve always wanted to make fanart of Katy Towell’s Childrin R Skary. Originally i planned to draw all her Childrin series in October but life has other plans

With it being the scariest time of the year here is a video that is not only from a horror themed YouTube channel that was popular years ago, but also for a book she wrote.
If you liked Gravity Falls (which came out after this book did) and wished it was a bit scarier then this book may be for you.

video FAQ
(Mod: If youre curious about the latest entry, here’s some information about it.)
(I live a few blocks away from a place called Frick’s Trail. It’s a series of walking paths that join at different locations, leading through a neighborhood. There are multiple spots you can visit- the “church” you see in the video is actually a historical house dedicated to the founder, surrounded by a gravesite, and the first spot closest to the entrance. The hilltop is part of a natural basin.
This is meant to be in the style of found footage. I was actually considering naming this episode that. If you’ve ever seen the Blair Witch Project, Milo’s prayer is a reference to the scene where Heather confesses to the camera that she doesn’t think she’ll make it out of the woods alive. Subtitles were added mainly because the whispering is hard to hear at points, as well as for deaf viewers.
Someone actually wrote “dammit” on that sign. I have no idea who it was, but a lot of people walk through there, so it was probably a visitor.
Katy Towell is one of my favorite animators. I wish her videos were more well-known sometimes. They have a macabre art style but read like a fairytale. She’s done the “Childrin r Skary” series as well as written novels for young readers.)

💀🖤Katy Towell-The start of my Darkside💀🖤
I’d like to thank Katy Towell, the creator of Childrin R Skary, for being the jumpstart of my love of horror.
I think my first video was ‘When Genevieve ruled the world’ and I went down the rabbit hole of some of her work way back when I was still a kid and I feel like that’s how I got into horror, more specifically Junji Ito horror.
I actually tried to draw my own Skary child and I think I still have the drawing if I find it I’ll post it.
I love her work and I still remember the creepy whisperings of certain videos like in ‘Never Woke Up’.
And now she has ‘Dear Margeret’ and I love its podcast style!
I hope I stay Skary for a long time!

its become sort of a ritual at this point to redraw this picture. I'm going to try and re-draw it every year if I can. so heres 2017s picture. I'm really happy with how this came out! I know by next year im going to be like 'wow this is so ugly' but heck, right now, I love it! this is inspired by Katy Towell ( childrin r skary) 's art and character. the characters name is Genivieve which has since become my absolute favourite female name~ I dont actually know where i got the idea for this outfit shes wearing, since im pretty sure its not an official outfit(?) either way, cant wait to try out next years.
speed draw of it on youtube soon to be posted!
after checking, I found out she had a tumblr! I highly doubt she’d notice this, but heck may as well try! @katytowell I’ve loved your work ever since I was 12, its not the best, but hopefully you like this little tribute!

Wait till Yuu shows them Coraline. I never thought Coraline was supposed to be scary until I found out here
Honestly same. Like I understood people found it kinda creepy, cause you know button eyes and stuff. But I didn't find it scary at all. I was 12 when it came out, so it probably helped that I was an older kid. But I also watched Childrin R Skary and Lost Tapes for fun, so yeah... It wasn't until years later when I heard people talking about childhood movies and going "Oh yeah that movie freaked me out as a kid. Gave me nightmares and everything!" That realized... Coraline is supposed to be scary

Your Picks?
Hello my lovely readers! Today I have something very special for you: I put together a list of my most beloved short films. They are pretty different so I hope there one for everybody! The Maker: This one is both dark but also heart-breakingly cute. It always reminds me a bit of Tim Burton and he’s one of my favourite directors! The Maker was not only made with so much love optical details, the…

You have some rly good art in general but I noticed your horror stuff especially has a certain flair to them and I was wondering if you've ever seen Katy towell's stuff? She does horror short stories / poems / etc and animates them, she has a youtube channel. She also wrote a children's book but idk your stuff reminds me of hers a little
ooohhh shit dude Childrin R Skary used to be my jam back in my Newgrounds phase
that’s really interesting that you say that, because i watched a lot of Katy Towell’s stuff back then but i never really considered it an influence, but i see where you’re coming from
thanks for the nice ask!
