cabin 16 ー children of nemesis headcanons
| author's note: yeah i only really made this because i figured out that nemesis would be my godly parent. quite a few of these are based on me. probably not going to do any more of these, if only because i'd be unable to emulate this amount of detail again.

vindictive. do i even need to say it.
ambidextrous. the lot of them.
all of them have stares that seem like they look right through you. 
insane resting bitch and poker faces. nothing shows unless they explicitly let it.
⬆️ however, any emotion they feel, they feel it STRONGLY. happiness? more like euphoria. sadness? more like depression. annoyance? more like fury. (the furies *wish* they had what nemesis kids do.)
they're the type of people to be fashionable by default because all they wear is black, red, and Leather Jacket (which is a color in itself.)
⬆️ despite this, they don't mind the camp shirts, if only because everyone else is wearing them.
three options: read rulebooks for fun, be the reason rules are created, or both. 
they treat death like a trip to the dentist: an unpleasant inevitability. 
unshakeable loyalty. once you've got a nemesis demigod on your side, they'll follow you to tartarus and back.
⬆️ likewise, if you harm them or their friends, there is nothing they won't do to get back at you. nothing is beneath them. be terrified.
natural skeptics. nemesis is a daughter of nyx, so some of her kids have likely been to the underworld. they've met shades. even so, they'll passionately argue against the existence of ghosts.
weirdly good memory. of course, they remember every insult said about them, but they also remember how many arrows you shot into the woods at archery practice last tuesday. especially good with remembering strings of letters or numbers.
⬆️ they're some of the few demigods that can do math. they do it for fun, that's how bad it is.
really good at strategy, but often people don't go along with their plans. see: nothing is beneath them.
geese fucking love them. a common sight at chb is watching geese try and bite everyone's faces off, then trip over themselves to be pet like drugged cats by the nemesis cabin.
all super good at board games, especially chess, settlers of catan, and monopoly. uno skills are 50/50.
they're the type of people to save every deus ex machina item in a video game for later, and then proceed to never use them.
great sense of balance. they're great at tightropes, and can do triple pirouettes (a type of turn in ballet) easily. they like perching in trees and watching during capture the flag if they're not fighting.
if you're unwilling to debate or close-minded, be prepared to find spiders in your underwear. *especially* if you're an athena kid.
⬆️ probably have a tarantula as a cabin pet, named 'houdini,' because he keeps ""escaping"" to the athena cabin. it's super unfortunate like that.
⬆️ they also probably have a favorite wild goose, too. 
there are no extroverted nemesis demigods. if one seems like an extrovert, they're either in denial or masking super hard.
they're the type of people to do all of the group project work alone. they have no patience for anyone who can't pull their weight.
each have their own methods of organization. if you touch their stuff you will die. they always know.
can't sleep without the ends of their blankets tucked underneath the mattress and the sides perfectly even. it just feels off to them.
socialism. communism. literally anything except pro-capitalist. look at me in my face and tell me i'm wrong.
optimistic pessimism? very 'the glass is half-empty, but at least there's something in there' vibes.
about as blunt as a club. if you want the brutal truth, ask a nemesis kid about your swordsmanship. you'll come out crying.
they take things very literally. jokes often fly over their head, but they catch sarcasm and veiled insults faster than hermes runs. 
always take things seriously. even things that aren't supposed to be taken seriously. like 'packing rocks in snowballs' seriously.
all of them despise bullies with all of their being. there isn't a nemesis demigod who won't introduce their knee to a bully's crotch for fun. hades, they'll *pay* you to let them do it.
their fighting skills and athleticism increase when serving justice, revenge, or vengeance. like normally, they're really good, but then someone steals their marshmallow or something and then they get REALLY good.
like to put extra effort into scaring and prank new campers before being nice to them. trial by fire, i guess.
however, after the inital hazing, they protect unclaimed kids with their lives. again, see: nothing is beneath them.
want to know everything, including but not limited to why you didn't put any grapes on your plate to every single reason why your godly parent acts the way they do towards you. once again, see: nothing is beneath them.
fight best with either a sword or a shield, but they're especially good with both. 
(sidenote: their favorite swords would probably be executioners' swords, which imo are super fucking cool. their favorite shields would probably be aspis (roman: clipeus) but specifically the ones with faces or figures carved in them.)
nemesis isn't a super caring mother tbh. she punishes her children mercilessly if they do something wrong or malicious. however, likewise, she praises them lavishly whenever they complete a quest or do something that demonstrates the power of cabin 16.
⬆️ her kids either have huge problems with authority or zero problems with authority. most swing wildly between the two, but that's what balance means, right?

chill with cabins: 3, 9, 12, 14, 17, 19
does not get along with cabins: 4, 6, 7, 10, 11, 18

children of nemesis
• they’re the ONLY cabin that is safe from pranks by the hermes cabin.
• they never have problems with balancing chemistry equations.
• whenever someone from camp needs to settle a debate/argument, they always ask someone from the nemesis cabin to be the mediator/judge.
• they're also frequently asked to be referees for games of capture the flag, as their reputation for fair judgment makes them ideal for ensuring the game is played with integrity and without bias.
• when a child of vengeance is saved of a certain death by another demigod, they now owe a debt to their savior.
• whenever the savior calls for help, they are obligated to come and help them no matter the danger.
• they are all CRAZY competitive. it’s like they're in pre-revenge mode.
• the demigod that nemesis traded the ability to make a difference in the world for one of their eyes was nick fury (and ethan).
• at this point, she just has a passion for children with eyepatches.
• i can just picture nemesis cackling and pointing to her children "you get an eyepatch" "you get an eyepatch!" "but mom-" "EYEPATCH FOR YOUUUUUUUUU!!"
• they care the least about the appearance of other people, because they see their mother as the person they hate most.
• the hephaestus cabin helped them build a gigantic celestial bronze scale in the middle of their cabin.
• they don't get along well with the children of athena, largely because many of them struggle with hubris as their fatal flaw.
• since nemesis is the goddess who punishes those who are overly prideful or self-assured, this same principle extends to her children, creating natural tension between the two groups.

cabin exterior
• the cabin has dark stone walls, almost like slate or obsidian, giving it a brooding, intimidating appearance. the stones have subtle cracks running through them, symbolizing the balance of vengeance and justice.
• deep red and crimson accents are used around the cabin to signify blood, vengeance, and the balance of power. the entrance to their cabin is a red door. it has the scales of justice etched into it, representing nemesis’ role.
• above the doorway, there is a carving of an eagle, nemesis' sacred animal, holding a sword in its talons. the sword represents retribution, and the eagle embodies her watchful, unforgiving nature.
• a small statue of nemesis herself stands in front of the cabin, holding her sword and scales, symbolizing the ever-present concept of justice. her eyes are made from rubies, watching those who come and go.
• the shadows cast by the cabin seem to move subtly, giving the impression that the cabin itself is watching or judging those nearby. these shadows stretch and shift depending on the actions of the people passing by.

cabin interior
• the central theme of the cabin is balance. there are symbolic representations of scales EVERYWHERE— on the walls, carved into the furniture, painted in murals. every item in the cabin is placed with perfect symmetry, reinforcing the idea of equilibrium and fairness.
• instead of modern lights, the cabin is illuminated by dark iron lanterns or torches with low, flickering flames, casting dramatic shadows around the room. this lighting adds to the cabin’s mysterious and foreboding atmosphere.
• the furniture is made of dark wood— oak and mahogany— each piece sturdy and simple, but elegantly crafted. the chairs and beds have an almost throne-like quality, with high backs and intricate carvings, to emphasize power and authority.
• large mirrors are placed strategically around the cabin, but these mirrors do not show your true reflection. instead, they show you as balanced with your opposite. for example, someone who is overly confident might see themselves looking unsure or humble. these mirrors serve as a reminder that nemesis governs balance in all things.
• the floor is made of glossy black marble, cold and smooth underfoot. some areas are etched with swirling, abstract patterns that represent fate and karma, with a glowing red hue filling in the designs at night.

cabin traditions
• they have a tradition of making penance offerings or performing acts of restitution for any personal wrongs they’ve committed, reflecting their dedication to correcting imbalances.
• every month, the members hold a ceremony where they balance scales to symbolize their commitment to justice and fairness. this involves a ritual where they offer symbolic items representing their past grievances and mistakes.
• they frequently engage in debates about justice and morality, using these discussions to hone their skills in resolving conflicts and understanding different perspectives on retribution.
• each member keeps a small stone where they inscribe significant personal experiences related to justice and retribution, creating a collective memory of the cabin’s journey and values.

Chthonic Gods' Cabins Headcanons
Children of Hades, Persephone, Nyx, Hypnos, Nemesis, Hecate, Thanatos, Eris, Geras, Selene, etc. Any God that lives in the underworld or is a child of God that lives in the underworld.
They refer to themselves as Hellspawn endearingly.
They are so much more loyal to each other than to children of other Gods. They're all united by the underworld.
They have sleepover in the Hades Cabin. Chiron doesn't know, and he wouldn't allow it if he did. The Hecate Cabin masks their presence so others can see, hear, or sense them.
They treat children of Hades like royalty. They're all the pretty princesses of the underworld. They put a pink, fuzzy crown on Nico one time. He didn't particularly enjoy it, but he didn't stop them.
They make homemade candles and hold rituals in cemeteries and abandoned playgrounds.
They always make sure Hazel is welcome at camp. She is a queen. She can't be uncomfortable or unhappy at camp half blood.
They held a grand funeral for Bianca. She has a beautiful burial plot. Fresh flowers every week.
Sometimes they go frolicking through the underworld, holding hands and skipping. Purely for the irony.
They kind of consider Will one of them? They're a bit iffy about him because he's a son of Apollo, the sun god, but they appreciate how happy he makes Nico.
The underworld children that can summon spirits (Mostly Hades children. Children of Hypnos can make dead people appear in dreams. Few children of Nemesis can control vengeful spirits. Few children of Ares can call upon dead soldiers who lost their war. Thanatos children.) will gossip about the spirits they spoke to. They'll also work together to try to summon a lost friend or family member, to give one of them some form of closure.
The Hades cabin leads their little clique. Planning outings and meetings.
The Hypnos cabin regulates their dreams, making sure everyone sleeps relatively okay. They keep their dreams not terrible for the most part.
Children of Selene will use their powers to radiate moonlight, effectively making other children of the underworld slightly more powerful.
Children of Nemesis act as their regulators, their judges. If someone wronged one of them, the entire Nemesis cabin will get revenge for them.
Children of Nyx are their guards. All they have to do is look at someone, and they'll think a million times before they even interact with one of them.
Children of Persephone will grow flowers and fruit for them. They keep their lives bright and meaningful. A symbol of peace, even if only in short periods.
Children of Hecate will enchant anything for them. Magical weapons mean more security. And Tarot readings. A small glimpse into the future will calm them down so much.
Children of Geras will give them wisdom. Old age comes with experience. And experience leads to knowledge. An excellent guide for young, inexperienced demigods.
Children of Eris will remind everyone of what someone has done. Never forgetting someone's blatant wrongdoings. They warn everyone when they hear about something someone has done, trying to keep them out of trouble.

The sons of…
HADES💀💎: -I think they would summon a couple of spirits to liven up the conversation, certainly those ghosts would be great friends. -Gossip about the underworld would be very juicy.
IRIS🌈📬: -Sweets and candies (some would have been brought by their mother and others would have been traded with Hebe's cabin). -They would also look for tutorials to have a multiplayer lucid dream with you.
HYPNOS😴💤: -Ironically they could stay up late, but would prefer to go to bed earlier. -However, the pajama party would continue in your dreams when you fell asleep. And you would do a lot of fun things there.
NEMESIS🛞⚖️: -They would chat with you about anything as long as everyone could have fun. -They would also argue with you about how unfair it is to be a demigod and that at the very least they could inherit their mother's wings (that's an usual complaint of the demigods at CHB tbh). -They can give you good advice.
NIKE🥇🌿🏆: -Although they would talk a lot about themselves, they would also be delighted if you also rejoiced in your victories. -They would plan with you how to win the next capture the flag and together you would begin to create a lot of ideas about it.
HEBE👦👧: -They would try to stay up until the sun came up, but they would end up falling asleep while (probably) hugging their favorite stuffed animal. -Perhaps Hebe appears to gossip or to bring food and report on what has happened on Olympus.
TYCHE🍀🎲: -You would spend the whole night having fun, chatting and playing with the game machines they have in their cabin. -Surely they would teach you tricks to win in all kinds of games and obviously they would not be cheats (wink, wink).
HECATE🧙‍♂️🪄: -You would prank other cabins with them and their spells. -They would show you their new magical discoveries and you would try them (spoiler: it goes wrong). -They would also show you the new merchandise they have obtained (no one has yet discovered where they get it from).

Has anyone made a FNAF PJO AU yet? no? okay well then I'll do it okay so basically William is a hades kid, and the Afton sibs are all hades legacy but are children of nemesis, and Lizzy is the Oracle ("you wont die, you wont die" yk yk) Charlie is a child of Hecate (and can control the mist) and CHB in this au is the pizzeria, and the concealment/mist is the smell of days old pizza masking the smell of demigod, and I'm gonna be real honest I don't reaaaally know how the robo-possession and such would function but like see Michael's weapon is an enchanted baseball bat he calls "helpy" and because I'm cringe, he too is cringe, and says a terrible catch phrase when he's wielding it like "You look like you could use some *help!*" Maybe William learnt about the existence of mythological concepts like the underworld, Tartarus, Elysium, asphodel, etc. and he kinda wanted to cheat all that like the coward he is and that's why he started going killing crazy?? Maybe he kills Charlie because he wants to somehow glean her mist-controlling powers??? idk lol
I just love the hc(?) That the Afton's just have this.....presence to them when they enter a room, they each have an air of mystery or somberness or just plain fear around them LIKE OKAY IMAGINE KIDS HAVING FUN AND PLAYING IN THE ARCADE, RUNNING AROUND AND HAVING FUN, AND THEN PJO!MICHAEL FIRST SHOWS UP AND STEPS AT THE ENTRANCE, AND THE ROOM JUST GOES (heh, pun) DEAD SILENT AND FAINT WHISPERS ARE HEARD FROM THE AUDIENCE LIKE YOU PICK UP WHAT IM PUTTING DOWN
