Child Dark Urge taking over my mind again.
Gale teaching him how to write using the ground and a stick. Halsin being the only one strong enough and with enough patience to hold Child!Durge during a meltdown. Poor thing is sobbing and angry and scared because something inside him wants to rip everyone apart, but he loves these people. They're his family now, and he doesn't want to go back to being lost and alone.

I need D'Urge to be a companion 😭 Especially since he's canonical even when you create a custom Tav
(Some headcanons, some based on little snippets of dialogue from the game)
Edit: Baby Durge Tail Wag GIF

An older topic expanded on a smidgeon: I feel like Orin and Durge are seeing Bhaal from opposite sides a bit, and somehow failing to realise that they're not getting the whole picture. That blind men and the elephant allegory.
Canonically Durge sees Bhaal's bloodlust - the god that is at all times consumed by rage and hunger for blood who marched an army of undead on an island nation and manifested purely for the joys of the feeling of delivering death directly with his own hands. 'Death is death, right?'
Orin correctly points out the doctrinal and ecclesial focus on philosophy and artistry, which Bhaal himself does care about. He sets up whole scenes out of a slasher movie, tormenting a bunch of Zhents and leaving horrific murders (executed smoothly, flawlessly and with little mess, considering), just to murder a horse because somebody joked that somebody might kill it. Said horse murder is also deliberately set up so that witnesses would look up and see his holy symbol painted on the ceiling in blood. He casually fought an entire squad of guards with a knife, and took the time to offer a sarcastic polite little bow of acknowledgment/greeting when recognised. He does enjoy showing off, and delights in mortals being terrified of him.
Durge isn't wrong, but Orin is right.
Bhaal, presumably, is letting them keep fighting over it because it makes them easier to manipulate and turn against each other, and it makes their fighting more fervent - particularly when it reaches terminal stage.

As much as I love companions supporting and encouraging Durge to defy Bhaal by reminding them of other Bhaalspawns who did that, I don't think companions truly get (and Durge can't explain to them due to a hole in their head) what Durge is not just any Bhaalspawn.
They are The Bhaalspawn, the last of their kind, the ONLY one of their kind.
Unlike other Bhaalspawn, Durge doesn't have a mortal mother, they don't have any other blood in them to dilute Bhaal's.
Durge is made of nothing but Bhaal and this is why it's so hard for them to resist him.

POV, you're a Banite and your boss shows up to work dressed like this. He's daring you to say something. What do you do?

I was reminded of Clive, Karlach's adorable teddy bear. And now I need Child!Durge to interact with it somehow.
Stuck on him either destroying it during a tantrum or whatever, or him desperately wanting one. Or both??
Like, Karlach let's him hug it after a meltdown, and he gives it back easily, no fuss. But that night while sleeping, his feelings get jumbled up from the Dark Urge's influence, and although he dreams about snuggling Clive, in reality he tried to hold it in his sleep and destroyed it. The head popped off, parts got too close to the campfire and burned, and a large chunk of Clive's head was chewed off. When everyone wakes up, he's devastated. Not only is the teddy bear ruined, Karlach got hurt. She tries to smile and reassure him that mistakes happen, but anyone could tell she was upset.
Later on, when 4 of the Party go down to investigate the bog (with Child!Durge following whether they want him to or not) , they come across an old wet teddy bear near a ravaged camp. There's a note tucked in a pocket sewn into the bear, telling the owner to stay close to their camp. That clearly didn't go the way the adults hoped, and Durge took a moment to hug the bear close and apologize to the child who must've been killed. He was a child himself, and it felt wrong knowing someone his age had been killed for no reason. With a silent promise to take good care of the bear, he brings it back to the Party's camp. Child!Durge takes a clump of Clive's fabric and fluff, and tucks it into the pocket where the note had been before asking Astarion to sew it shut.
When Child!Durge presents the new friend to Karlach, she has to hold herself back from grabbing him up in a bear hug.
(Lost my train of thought at this point)

I've officially made a unique tav to romance each origin character and honestly shout out to Shadowheart. My girl gets past the fact they're a Selûnite and falls in love with them only to find out later that whoops they're actually a Bhaalspawn

Kieran Elendighet
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Behind the name:
Kieran - Which means Little Dark One
Elendighet - Norwegian for Misery
He's a true hazard to society, finding joy in his unique form of amusement, which involves inflicting suffering and misfortune on others. Not only can he feel this pain, but he actively pursues it, intensifying and reveling in it. His disregard for others stretches to extreme levels of selfishness and sadism, bordering on the inhuman.
Total homewrecker, employing his charm to effortlessly seduce women, deriving pleasure from the distress it causes their husband/significant other. He often waits for the man to return home just so he can taunt them before committing acts of extreme violence against either.
His penchant for gambling is well known, though he always resorts to cheating.
This man’s powers are rooted in fire manipulation and psychic abilities. Prefers to use a dagger over any other weapon, it’s just easier to use and he strongly dislikes heavy items… He hates breaking a sweat.
Be warned: if you dare dirty his new jacket, you will find yourself on the ground with broken limbs… or auditioning for The Walking Dead as a corpse.
Kieran possesses a coin that once belonged to his mother, which he habitually flicks during moments of stress or deep thought.

Durgetash Baby (Headcanon/Bullet Fic)
The Dark Urge sees Enver Gortash with his child in his arms. Notes: Dark. TW infanticide (Non-descriptive but could be triggering for some). Nsfw. Slight dub-con but ultimately consensual. Imagined with a fem Durge in mind.
I can absolutely see Gortash in an arranged marriage situation which Durge would of course have very complicated feelings about. ‎‎‎‎‎‎ㅤㅤ
But Gortash is not one to shrug off appearances. He fulfills his husbandly duties and his wife provides him with an heir. ㅤ
Throughout the pregnancy, Durge is very distant. The violent urges and jealousy (which they tell themselves is merely due to their Bhaalspawn breeding instinct) are an extreme threat to their alliance with Gortash. ㅤ
When the child is finally born, Durge and Gortash fall back into their old routine for a time. Patriar children are rarely around their parents anyway, Durge does not anticipate it to be an issue. ㅤ
But one night, Durge slips into Gortash’s chambers (through the window, as they usually would), and sees him with the child in his arms. A tiny babe. And Gortash speaks to it like it is the whole world, like he would give it the whole world. Durge slips back out completely unnoticed. ㅤ
The next thing Durge can remember, it is night again and they are standing in the nursery of Gortash’s estate, their hands covered in blood. The Urge begins to recede from their mind, and they faintly hear a woman’s scream receding down the hall. ㅤ
By the time Gortash arrives in the doorway, their mind is clear. He is measured, but there is something in his eyes that Durge has not seen before. Boots clatter down the hall, but they are waved away by Gortash as he steps inside and closes the door. ㅤ
Once they are alone, Gortash lunges forward. Admittedly, it catches Durge by surprise, and Gortash gets much further than he should in his attack because of it. They slam into the ground together, a flurry of fists. It is their first real, physical fight against each other. ㅤ
All movement ceases when Durge's knife glints in the dim light. They have managed to get Gortash beneath them, knife pressing into his throat. He is covered in streaks of blood - his blood, Durge's blood, and the blood of his child. ㅤ
Durge's head is pounding as they begin to roll their hips against Gortash's body, knife still firmly at his throat. His voice is venomous as he chokes, "What are you--" ㅤ
"Mine." Durge's voice is sharp and dangerous as they press their hips down harder against Gortash, "You are mine, Gortash." ㅤ
They throw their knife to the side and replace it with their hand around Gortash's throat, the blood of his child on their hands now mixing with his own from his wound. Anger still burns in his eyes, but he does not move. Durge knows this - knows him - knows he is assessing, trying to understand. ㅤ
They kiss him then, but he remains stiff against them. It is only when their other hand begins to slide down his body does he begin to stir. ㅤ
"You are mine, Gortash," Durge repeats, a whisper against Gortash's lips, "And your children will be mine." ㅤ
He pauses for just a moment longer before meeting them in a suddenly charged kiss. Durge is unsurprised to feel him harden quickly at their words. ㅤ
He takes them there, on the floor of the nursery. He brutally fucks his seed into them, a demand for a child to replace the one he lost. ㅤ
The Dark Urge is satisfied, but they are never truly forgiven.
