The Devil: What type of demon is most likely to target Rook? Why?

Pride. Obvious narrative symmetry aside, it would actually be through a perversion of his optimism and determination. Pride is not drawn to Kostas because of any tendency to see his way as the right way or believing he has all the answers; he's more than willing to admit fault and ignorance, or ask for help. Pride is drawn to him because of his refusal to consider the possibility that there is no right way, that there is no solution. He sees surrender as failure on a subconscious level, even though it's easy to get him to accept otherwise on a logical level, and he would never mindlessly sacrifice lives for the sake of victory. Passivity and idleness are not viable options, though. He believes if he tries hard enough, it will eventually succeed. It doesn't matter whose idea it was, something has to work. He's humble enough to know he can't do it on his own, but too proud to accept he might not be able to do it at all.

The Sun: What is Rook passionate about? How do they fuel that passion?

Self-improvement, both for himself and encouraging that in others. Kostas was raised to honor the dead above almost all else, and he cares very deeply about maintaining balance between both sides of the Veil. He believes that carrying on the work of those who came before serves both of those directives, and that everyone has their own part to play in that by being the best possible version of themselves.

For himself, it partly manifests as being a perpetual student. There's always more to learn, not just in an academic sense (though definitely including that) but also in every other aspect of life. A ten-minute conversation with Kostas about his interests and priorities would challenge anyone's assumption that Nevarra's care for the dead equals being stuck in the past. He is curious and inquisitive to the point of self-endangerment, though he would never knowingly risk someone else's safety for the sake of knowledge. But if using himself as a test subject might get him some answers, then he has to try.
