beneath the scaffolding of a construction site, nanba holds a bottle of tea and asks "hey, you think i've changed at all since we met?"

the rest of the party, standing or crouching on the side of the path, turn to look at him.

"hm? have you?" ichiban tilts his head, hand on chin, and lets saeko pick from his chip bag. "i dunno, lemme think..."

adachi leaps to his feet, splashing his can of beer and surprising saeko. "got it!"

adachi snaps his fingers with a triumphant smile. "you changed how you part your hair!"

"huh?" nanba reaches toward the back of his own head. "nope, it's still the same..." adachi sheds a single tear.

hand raised high, saeko announces "right! your prescription changed!" ichiban taps a canned coffee on his palm in an "i get it!" motion. "what, are you trying to be funny now!? and that's wrong, too!" nanba retorts.

"okay!" han looks serious. "you changed the frames on your glasses!"

"you started wearing contacts instead of glasses!" zhao finger-guns with a grin.

"will you quit it with the glasses thing!?" nanba snaps at an unfazed, juicebox-sipping han. "and does it look like i'm wearing contacts!?" he gestures at himself. zhao smugly bites an onigiri, still squatting on the ground.

adachi frowns around a pocky. "huh? then what's changed?"

"never mind... sheesh." nanba turns his back on the group.

a view of the vending machine and soccer field across the way. "i just thought maybe i'd grown a bit cheerier since i met you guys."

"that's all." nanba doesn't see the party staring in shocked silence.

saeko, han, and zhao exchange fond looks.

nanba chugs his tea as ichiban approaches.

ichiban bumps his drink hand against nanba's.

"well, we already knew that, man." ichiban grins so wide his eyes shut.

"yeah, you smile a lot more than you did before, nan-chan." saeko concurs, offering him her chip bag.

nanba looks up, eyes wide. "ichiban... you guys..."

a hand lands on nanba's shoulder.

arm slung over his friend's back, ichiban cheerfully assures "and i noticed that you got some new lenses on your glasses, too." nanba's face falls.

the party loses it. saeko collapses on adachi, both doubled over in laughter, zhao cackles as his glasses fall off, and han clutches his head in despair.

"i didn't change anything about my glasses!" nanba roars. on the ground, a plastic bag of leftover snacks reads "#56 nanba's transformation".

Ranma ½ (2024 TV anime) - PV1

Okay, so my canon universe starts off when Hope's Peak Academy didn't recruit Junko Enoshima but instead recruited another person by the name "Asuka Misado" who claimed to be the Ultimate Puppeteer and Asuka was assigned to Class 76-A where the following were in that classroom - Aoki Umeyori, the Ultimate Makeup Artist, Yuki Shujin, the Ultimate Translator, Zetsubo Shujin, the Ultimate Fashion Model, Natsumi Katsujin, the Ultimate Gardener, Spectrolite Kanagawa, Ultimate Athlete, Chihiro Koikawa, the Ultimate DJ, Saitsuki Saijikawa, the Ultimate Fencer, Kokoro Maitsuno, the Ultimate Debater, Kanade Tsujino, the Ultimate Music Artist, Fubuki Yujitsuma, the Ultimate Nurse, Hikari Yujitsuma, the Ultimate Performer, Yuji Kitsuji, the Ultimate Priest, Shiho Matsuno, the Ultimate Traditional Dancer, Mando Yurigawa, the Ultimate Android, and Kalos Katsujin, the Ultimate Lucky Student but except a group of people forced the entire school in a killing game, locking everyone inside until there was only 17 people left and that entire class survived, and in total, over 1000 people died in the school that day. After that, the surviving class was transported into a facility that Hope's Peak Academy owned and was expected to survive, so the school locked the class inside of the facility but except, everyone was knocked out and brought back to the ruins of the school with a dome and made the class kill each other. The remaining survivors include Yuki Shujin, Zetsubo Shujin, Kalos Katsujin, Natsumi Katsujin, Kokoro Maitsuno, and Fubuki Yujitsuma. After that, they were recruited by Future Foundation, to which they had to play another killing game, and the remaining survivors of that include Fubuki Yujitsuma, Kalos Katsujin, Kokoro Maitsuno, and Yuki Shujin. After all of that, everyone was transported to a facility where they were safe until the very end, and the ruins of the school are now a grave site for all of those who have died inside the school, in the killing game, or in the Future Foundation

“ ah, here’s our star for today, hello tama-chan! ” quick was the young class president to sink to his knees upon being approached by the little one, allowing his height to match with that of the younger’s. weekends for the kojima boy normally meant advanced studying, leisure reading or a couple of rounds playing tetris, but on this particular saturday he found himself in the home of his classmate chihiro, heeding her call for help in babysitting her niece. he didn’t mind though, he didn’t mind at all! he has a little sister too whom he has been taking care of since he was seven! 

while the older girl went deeper into the house, satoru found himself entertaining tama. “ oh yeah, I brought you something … ” a palm reached into his bag, only to soon come out with a beige-hued little box – a limited edition chocolate snack he had specifically bought for his classmate’s niece. “ tadaa! remember to give your otousan and obaasan a few pieces of the chocolate too, alright? i’m sure they’ll like it as much as you’ll do ” following a lighthearted chuckle, a palm was raised to gently pat the younger’s head. 

“ i know we didn’t get to play last time because we were really busy studying, but now the tests are over and your obaasan has invited me to help her watch over you … ” cue in the childlike wonder that glinted against blue grey hues. “ what do you want to do today? shall we read stories about mermaids, and dragons, and princesses? ooor how about let’s spend the afternoon baking? it’s your day today okay, tama-chan? anything you choose to do, i promise your obaasan and i will see to it. ” / hehe here’ mr. fancy pants at the ready to help babysit little tamaa!! She has been waiting for this for years ! ( Actually, it's been a week or two at most but for a small girl like her, time goes slower than usual. She's mainly being DRAMATIC though ). This encounter was written in the stars, fated by destiny, and predestined by the gods from above. The time has come for the Aoki's so awaited visitor to make an appearance. Welcome, SATORU KOJIMA !

❝ Chi-chan, he's here ! ❞ She had spotted him from her place right next to the window, watching birds fly by and people crossing the street. That proper uniform of his didn't go unnoticed for the little one, with his carefully groomed hair and his every day backpack with what she presumed, books. A small wave goes his way before she strolls down to her auntie's room, knocking excitedly to announce his arrival. ❝ Sato-chan will play with us today ! ❞ Play ? Well, that's how she sees it anyways. His job could be described as babysitting while Tomoya was away working, a favour between classmates, and the opportunity for their daughter to open up her little world and meet new people. Chihiro trusted him and by that logic, they do too ( not just anyone manages to make their sister talk for hours non-stop ).

A second knock is given, followed up by a giggle as she hops her way to the door ( almost slipping a couple of times in the process ). There's a ring from the doorbell and the little miss doesn't waste a second on opening up. ❝ Welcome ! ❞ She gives a light bow as taught, courtesy is something to always have in consideration no matter how eager one is. ❝ Come in, Sato-chan. ❞

Today will be just perfect ! They could play with her dolls or read a story, maybe even watch a movie ! Why not the three of them ?! Oh her mind was coming up with more ideas and she's not even sure where to start but before that. . . ❝ CHOCOLATE ! ❞ Emerald hues light up at the box in hand, jumping with delight as the sweet smell coming from the gift invaded the room. Would be impossible to hide them from her father, she might as well SHARE some of it when they get home. On the other hand, Chihiro was without a doubt, getting lots if that's what she wanted. ( FAVORITISM ? Perhaps, but papa can buy their own chocolate so that's alright ). ❝ Thank you. ❞ Again, manners are essential.

❝ What I want to do. . . . ❞ She has to choose. . . that's difficult when all of it sounds like fun. Think, Tama, think ! ❝ Hmm. . . I want to do. . . ALL OF IT ! We can play princesses and bake a cake ! And read stories of pretty mermaids and watch a movie ! And draw together and━━ ❞ Well, good luck SATORU.
