of course we saved the best for last for mommy issues may! for our latest theme month's grand finale, there was only one real option for what to cover, and we knew we wanted to do it up right. that's why we invited some new friends to join us for a stay at the bates motel as we talk with spooky chicks & horror flicks about all things psycho (1960). arguably the most famous alfred hitchcock classic, this film literally changed the game for the genre, setting the scene for all kinds of iconic films that followed. it's definitely the blue print — so listen in as we explain the term macguffin, debate exactly when things went wrong, and find all sorts of extremely important connections to the polar express on a new spooky tuesday.

FAN THEORY TIME

What if chick from Bates Motel is actually our baby boy Opie from Sons Of Anarchy. Like after the blow to the head the cops thought he was dead and whatever shit doc they had and idk somehow he escaped but remembers nothing like at all. And he manages to hitch hike and stumbles into white pine bay where his current wife finds him amd she helps him. He still remembers nothing but while with her he gains memory of how they gun trade works partially and he still has his other gun knowledge. Oh and the blow messed up his eyes making him need glasses.

I visit the Chick Hogan tag sometimes and always get slightly salty about 1) the lack of appreciation for this very cool character and 2) tumblr’s shitty anti-spam mechanism that just doesn’t show some of your posts if you have posted too big a percentage of the posts in the tag during a given time, even if there were days or even months between the posts.

I know he probably dies and I shouldn’t get attached but I actually really like Chick Hogan. Chronic pain and all. True Crime enthusiast, bizarre artist slash criminal. He speaks in a really calm, unfazed, monotonous voice. He truly is a Chaotic Neutral, who just lives his life and doesn’t judge anyone even if they’re terrible. He’s just curious to see how life plays out. He hops where the wind takes him and navigates the world with such a free way of apprehending it. Free of any limitations, no matter if the outcome is (a)moral. There are no morals. Only existence.
