ILLUSTRATIVE RESEARCH

CHIARA LANZIERI - FEMALE FORM

As my main route of communication of boobs will be in the form of mermaids I have looked into illustrative female form. In particular a quirky and personal way that communicates a playful and approachable feel - of that research showed really appeals to my target audience. Chiara Lanzieri has successfully shown a playful way of illustrating woman in a way that promotes body positivity and doesn't single out a certain body types! which I feel is really important in my campaign, so girls don’t feel like they have to look a certain way to be appealing.

WHAT I WANT TO TAKE AWAY

The abstract form as a way of not singling out certain body types. In particular how some body parts are not in correct proportion, this is something that will work really well in my illustration. By using aspects such as a small head and big boobs so that the size of the boobs really stands out.

Textures used to create this organic and quirky feel. I could really use these textures to my advantage, for example, using water colours to communicate the fact mermaids are underwater.
