a bit new to tumblr! My name is Annabeth and I love the outsiders, newsies, Hamilton, history, six, dear Evan Hansen, the great Gatsby, and lots of other musicals. based off of the content we have of cole!trip and what i’ve heard from others, it’s safe to say terrance “trip” dipp is a contact heavy person. same with chet baker…

chettrip who somehow always end up with their knees knocking against each other when sitting down, or tucked into the backseat of bob’s mustang. chet often uses the excuse “I have long legs I need to stretch them or else they cramp up. not my fault.” trip just nods to show his understanding and silently enjoys the touch. trip’s hands are always freezing cold even in the summer — it’s just something he can’t seem to shake. he likes to press them against the back of chet’s neck or his cheeks, only to see him jump from the chill. when it’s cold during football practice he tries to create some friction and warm up, but when it doesn’t work, he resorts to asking chet for his help since the taller always seems to run hot. walking in the school halls shoulder-to-shoulder, chet folding into trip when he laughs because that’s what feels natural to him.

- it originally started with the soc boy trio (chet, brill, trip). all three of them were super close, but in particular chet and brill.

- mainly because trip wasn’t able to hang out with them as much — helping around the house for his grandma and walking melvin home from school. he blamed it on homework and being grounded despite that not being the case. so the other two always slummed around town, beating up greasers and doing whatever they wanted without him. trip was the odd one out.

- but the second brill started to date bev he quickly migrated away from their tight knit group. instead he really only focused on bev during their honeymoon phase (except they never really left it.)

- so because of this chet slowly migrated to hanging out and talking with trip a TON more. it’s not like he can go to bob — he has cherry, not to mention paul came practically attached to his hip.

- their first conversation consisted of the pair just gossiping about what happened with brill, joking around about how whipped he is. “he’s like a fucking lapdog man” “insert stupid frat guy laugh.” … not to mention also probably sipping on something strong.

- fast forward and trip start dating marcia. it comes to chet’s attention that he is now the only one in the group without a girlfriend. literally. they are all dating EACH OTHER.

- at first he doesn’t mind it much. the fact that trip and marcia are dating. trip still hangs out with him and all — it’s just that not marcia is constantly tagging along. which, in his opinion is an upgrade from melvin forcing his way into their hangouts by barging in trips room and threatening to tell grandma dipp.

- until it’s NOT. marcia and trip can’t even keep their hands off of each other for more than five minutes at a time. he blames the envy in his gut on the fact that he is just lonely. that seeing them together makes him want to be with someone — want to be loved. blames it on the fact that he is jealous of marcia trip.

- he wonders if he distances himself would the other even notice? it seems like he’s already occupied enough, hanging off of marcia and whispering sweet nothings in her ear that make her giggle all pretty.

the way in some of the boots he puts his arm up in front of marcia when bob yells at her, whereas sometimes it’s like a shove. GOD I LOVE THEM!! and chettrip just makes this all the more sad because marcia was chet’s first soc friend (imo) and now he’s jealous of her and he’s just UGHH
