[ 𝐑𝐄𝐔𝐍𝐈𝐓𝐄 ] ― sender and receiver see each other again after a period of being apart
The soft spring breeze brought along the ocassional pink petals that would dance around the faces of awestruck tourists stopping every few steps to take pictures of this or that, and stepped on by the uninterested locals who were busy to get to their time sensitive destinations.
Cherry blossom themed limited edition merchandise lined the clean glass of every storefront for blocks and blocks ahead. A fatherly priest walked just behind his two daughters who were eager to shop for the latest trending outfits, new themed hair accessories, and new lip oils. Neither Mimiko nor Nanako could wait another day or two - it's going to sell out right away! - and Suguru just couldn't say no. He carried their bags from store to store, and bought them lunch during their break from shopping.
That is where he saw him the first time. The first time in approximately four years actually.
Suguru turned his head on instinct to scan just down the street when he was waiting in line at a takoyaki stand. Who he saw made him blink and give a crooked grin. Striking blonde hair, sharp and structure jaw line; it was so easy to tell that that was his former colleague. He had put on more muscle, Suguru noticed, maybe grew taller, but that stern frown looked like it was years in the making. He looked like he was in a rush, but never pushing anyone out of his way. Looking down at his watch for the time, yet those dragging feet said they'd rather be anywhere else than where they were actually headed.
'You look like shit, Nanami.'
"Sir, your payment?"
His attention was on the old man who had such a warm smile that brightened up every wrinkle, and he pushed the colorful tray just a smidge closer so Suguru could pay for their lunch. Absolutely revolting. He wanted to throw up. Returning the smile, the priest fished out his money. "Of course," he hummed.
//
So, Nanami Kento was now a diligent salaryman.
Good for him.
Suguru was there to witness Nanami leaving the school, and sorcery behind, and he was there to feel the same pain and anguish that led him to leave. They didn't say much to each other during that time, but there wasn't any need when the slump on their shoulders and the hollow stare in their eyes said enough. Suguru knew that Nanami wouldn't heed him out if he tried to pitch his vision at him, but what he wasn't too sure about is if he was in contact with a particular godly being. Not that that would be an issue, Suguru just didn't want to deal with a potential headache.
He didn't go back to that area for another month. Around the same time, Suguru could only guess that it would've been Nanami's lunch hour. He spied the working man frequenting a sandwich shop, only ever taking it to go, and then heading back to his office. 'My, such a work-o-holic.'
He could be playing a dangerous game by going to this seemingly favored sandwich shop where they rotate daily specials just minutes before Nanami typically arrives, he could be an asshole for sitting at a booth that was in the blind spot for the customers walking in with his tuna sandwich and salad, but one thing Suguru definitely was was giddy in excitement. Was Nanami going to be stunned in shock? Would he be angry with Suguru for defiling the joint he goes to so often by his presence? Would he pop a vessel by how tight he'd be clenching his jaw? Oh, Suguru couldn't wait for these questions to be answered.
The chime of the doorbell rang, and right on time, Nanami walked in.
"Yo, Nanami!" Suguru sang in such a spirited and familiar tone, as if this was something expected, planned, between the both of them. "I recommend getting the tuna sandwich. It's quite plump."

Rain
it is raining, and Legend is too stubborn to take a break.
whumptober 2023 - day 3 "make it stop."
fandoms - legend of zelda, linked universe
Legend felt old. Sure, he was only 18, but he had been on too many quests, at this point. He had spent far too long as the goddess' little puppet, and now his bones ached and joints creaked and all he wanted was to stop, to go home, to finally be able to properly tend to his orchard and snuggle up with ravio with a mug of hot chocolate in the evenings.
But of course he couldn't do that, it had only been two weeks since he got back from Hytopia and suddenly he was dragged through a portal and onto another quest. He was just thankful that he was in the habit of carrying his gear with him always.
And the other heroes were driving him up the wall. Time was treating him like a kid, Wind wouldn't stop yammering to anyone, Sky kept waxing poetic about his girlfriend and how much he missed her, Warriors was just too much of a stuck up city boy, and for some reason Twilight Set off all his prey instincts. He was this close to snapping and running off into the woods.
He wouldn't even be the first to do it, just two days ago, wild had run off for a good three hours. Which, yeah. Legend would probably have snapped sooner if nobody spoke a language he could understand. He would thank the goddesses for Travellers Common, but that would mean that they did something good.
Then there was the sour cherry on the burnt cake: it was raining. The damp dug into his scars, his arthritis flaring painfully. Not wanting to draw attention to himself and give time even more of a reason to hover and fret, Legend grit his teeth and continued walking.
* * *
Something was up with legend, and Hyrule was about ready to commit crimes to find out what. He could taste the pain from legend in the air, and his fairy instincts were crying at him to fix the problem, heal the hurt. It was giving him a headache.
But any attempt to approach the other teen was rewarded only with angry glares and harsh words. However, hyrule was anything but stubborn. He wouldn’t have survived the hostile wasteland that was his home otherwise. So he persisted, legend’s attempts to fend him off only feuling his determination more.
By the time they stopped under a rocky outcrop for lunch, hyrule had approached legend and been harshly turned away no less than twenty times, and probably more. But legend had sat down, and judging by how stiff his movements had been, he would have a harder time escaping hyrule’s questioning than he did when they were walking. So hyrule took advantage of the situation. He sat down right next to legend.
“I can tell you’re in pain. Stop avoiding me and tell me how i can help.” legend jumped slightly at hyrule’s words. He probably hadnt noticed hyrule joining him, too focused on hiding his own pain.
“ Go away and stop bothering me ” Legend hissed. In traveller’s common. The one language they both knew and that Time didn’t know. Interesting.
“ You’re hurt and you don’t want the old man to know, huh? ” Roolie responded in the same language. Maybe ledge would respond better if the old man couldn’t understand their conversation.
“ He’s a mother cucco. He’d make a bigger deal of it than it actually is. He’s already treating us like children. ” finally, something more than a few curses and demands that he leave. Hyrule could work with this.
“ So you admit that there is something wrong. ” Legend glared at hyrule’s smug grin, looking vaguely like he wanted to strangle the younger teen.
“ Yeah, sure whatever. But its not like you can just make it stop with a potion or a fairy. It will go away when the rain stops. Satisfied? Now will you piss off?” legend switched back to hylian at the end, probably to try and hint that the conversation was over. Hyrule didn’t care.
“So if we stay here until the rain stops, you’ll be fine to keep going afterwards?” hyrule said. Loudly, in hylian, to make sure time could hear him. If looks could kill, hyrule would probably have been brutally dismembered, his organs and limbs tied up in little bags floating down the toxic rivers of his homeland.
* * *
Legend was just about done with the little shit. He was planning cold hearted, petty revenge. Hyrule would regret this for the rest of his life.
Time had heard hyrule, come over, and demanded to know what hyrule meant. And without remorse, hyrule had gleefully recounted that the rain was making legend hurt. The old man had then proceeded to announce that they would be staying where they were until the rain stopped rather than powering on to the next town (which was only 5 miles down the road if the last sign the saw was to be trusted).
Then it turned out that Wild, who they previously thought could only speak Sheikah, knew Travellers Common and had been listening in on the conversation. And just handed over a massive raw ruby wrapped in cloth. Which did help, but was definitely a shock. But seeing the scars poking out from under the kid’s hood, legend could guess how he knew the ruby would help.
Then, 2 hours later, the rain stopped. And hyrule had the most shit eating grin when he walked over to legend. “All better?” his voice was so sickeningly sweet when he’d said that that legend nearly punched him in the face. But he did have to admit, he did feel a bit better. Physically, anyway. According to ravio, it would probably take divine intervention to sort out what was going on mentally.

5 Signs You Need to See a Chiropractor for Back Pain in Denver
Tumblr media
Over time, your body may be sending you subtle signals that it’s time to seek professional help for your back pain. Ignoring these signs can lead to prolonged discomfort, decreased mobility, and even long-term damage. As someone who experiences back pain, it’s necessary to recognize the warning signs that indicate you need to see a chiropractor for back pain in Denver.
Sign 1: Persistent Back Pain
If you’re experiencing chronic or lingering back pain, it’s a clear indication that something is amiss. Your body is designed to heal itself, but when pain persists, it’s a sign that there’s an underlying issue that needs to be addressed. A chiropractor can help identify the root cause of your pain and develop a personalized treatment plan to alleviate it.
Sign 2: Limited Mobility
Do you find it challenging to move around, bend, or twist without feeling stiffness or pain? Restricted movement is a significant indicator that your spine is out of alignment, putting pressure on your muscles and joints. A chiropractor can help restore your range of motion, reducing stiffness and discomfort.
Sign 3: Headaches or Neck Pain
Spinal misalignments can cause more than just back pain. They can also lead to headaches and neck issues. When your spine is out of alignment, it can put pressure on your nerves, leading to pain and discomfort in your head and neck. A chiropractor can help realign your spine, relieving tension and pressure on your nervous system.
Sign 4: Numbness or Tingling in Limbs
Do you experience numbness or tingling sensations in your arms or legs? This could be a sign of nerve compression, which occurs when your spine is misaligned, putting pressure on your nerves. A chiropractor can help relieve this pressure, restoring feeling and function to your limbs.
Sign 5: Recent Injury
Even minor injuries, such as a slip or fall, can benefit from chiropractic treatment. If you’ve recently experienced an injury, it’s necessary to seek professional help to ensure that your spine is properly aligned and your body is healing correctly. A chiropractor can help prevent long-term damage and promote optimal recovery.
If you’re experiencing any of these signs, it’s time to take action. Don’t let back pain hold you back any longer. Visit a chiropractor for back pain in Denver today and start your journey towards a healthier, happier you.

hi there, cherry!
i read tears in the rain (again! no one is surprised) and it got me thinking - will a person who underwent surgery have any marks left on their chest, like scars or stitches? or as a part of the lore, do they magically disappear? i've never read hanahaki disease fics before yours so i am unaware of this just yet..
i just can't stop thinking about how the reader would see it all the time and try their best to remember why they had it but to no avail, while everybody around them probably avoids having to answer their questions truthfully. it hurts, but in a good way (god i love angst so much)
hope you're having a good day, and thank you
i love your stories as much as i love you!
hi, poppet!
solid question - and here's the thing. folklore has a plethora of explanations, so from my research, it's more common that the person who had the surgery doesn't remember the reason they had surgery, and their scars heal crazy fast so they're no longer there.
however, there's a thousand ways to write Hanahaki so there's a possibility that there's scars. and the very idea that baby girl has to look at them everyday but she can't remember? pure pain.
but that's such an interesting idea. like, she sees the scars and gives herself stress headaches trying to remember but she can't. her parents won't answer her, and when she asks her friends, they're swift to change the subjects.
and they're also really supportive of her scars; they might be borderline prouder of them than she. THEY remember why she needed the surgery and the bravery that was required to go through with it - so, they do their best to avoid her questions out of sheer want to protect her.
wanna be hurt more? what if it's Eddie that tells her she had surgery?
hear me out - he avoids her, gives her space, doesn't want to hurt her anymore. and he finds himself at Lover's Lake, in the spot they always hung out in; just smoking and watching the creepily-still lake surface.
he hears someone approaching but doesn't react because he just wants to be alone and prays whoever it is moves on.
but then you're sitting next to him after spotting him and figuring it was okay to approach because you thought you wanted to be alone too, but something in your stomach twists and you'll shyly introducing yourself to the boy you shared History class with, missing the single tear that falls from his eye out of pain. he'll play along and choke back his rest of his tears before you're asking him for a hit of the joint he's smoking.
he'll pin you with a confused look, "you can't smoke."
"why not?"
"you just had surgery, like, 3 months ago."
your head cocks, "you know?"
"course i do."
"well, do you know where the surgery was?"
he'll, again, pin you with a confused look. "what do you mean?"
"well, i can see the scars but i can't remember why i needed surgery."
he nods slowly, so fucking slow it's almost missed. he'll take a long pull of his joint and his eyes will fall to the dark dirt beneath you both; moon casting the only light.
"you had surgery on your lungs."
he takes a long hit to halt the emotion on his tongue.
"what was wrong with them? i can't remember that either, and nobody wants to tell me..."
he'll feel this overwhelming empathy because he figures you deserve to know what happened to you. "you were dying," he'll admit quietly, drawing his knees in and hooking his arms around them. "and you made a really brave decision to have the surgery. it... it saved your life, so, maybe that's why they don't wanna talk about it. it scared them that they'd lose you, so, they don't want you to remember that pain."
"what pain?" your voice is in a whisper.
and he'll finally look at you and the moon's glow will make his eyes shine brightly; you'll clock his tears as they fall, but you're distracted by his words, "the pain i caused you."
i'm hurt again. but i love you, too, poppet!! thank you for sending this in!! 🖤
edit: i'm supposed to be resting but wonky brain now can't let this idea go so guess who's outlining and fleshing out fics!! lowkey might have to incorporate this into a fic 🤔

“Video games have saved Cherry Thompson’s life many times, from ‘80s game Rainbow Islands providing escape from a difficult childhood to Pokémon Red giving solace when Thompson was a homeless teenager. Games were about community, therapy, adventure and passion.
But more than six years ago, Thompson had a stroke at age 31 that led to vestibular and cognitive disabilities and a diagnosis of Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, a connective tissue disorder that weakens joints, skin, blood vessels and muscles. Thompson, who uses they/them/their pronouns, wanted to play games to cope with pain and surgeries, but found many games impossible to play without suffering severe migraines, motion sickness, hand pain and other barriers.
“I really, really struggled,” says Thompson, who’s also autistic with co-occuring dyslexia and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, which affect how they process information and play games. “But as I slowly came to terms with my disabilities, it was revolutionary, because I realized the problem was with the games, and not with me.”
Now a well-known game accessibility specialist and developer in Vancouver, Canada, Thompson recently got a chance to try out Gears 5 — a game with a long list of accessibility features that mean more people can play it. With a stronger focus on inclusivity than ever before, The Coalition studio developed the third-person shooter and latest installment in the Gears of War series, released in September by Xbox Game Studios. The game has since been widely lauded for its thoughtful accessibility.
Unlike with Gears of War 4, Thompson can actually play Gears 5, thanks to a new option to turn off “camera shake,” or quick camera movements that trigger their vertigo, nausea and headaches. They can customize an on-screen display of information to minimize distractions and sensory overload while playing. And even though their hearing is fine, improved subtitles in an adjustable text size helps them process information.”

Recommend an herb blend against anxiety and for motivation + energy (that doesn't make me jittery) please :( Also something good for joints if possible?
Tulsi!!! also known as Holy Basil, it’s an adaptogenic herb, which means it helps the body handle stress. Tulsi is relaxing without making you sleepy; honestly for me drinking a cup of tulsi tea feels like a comforting hug (and my brother reported similar effects for him)
You might also try kava kava, a root which is better taken in tincture form. It can produce a state of calm focus, both energizing and easing anxiety. It affects everyone slightly differently (and also has a bit of a numbing effect on the tongue, which can be off-putting, but it’s not harmful and goes away quickly!), for me I’ve gotten that calm focused state in the daytime, but it also helps me sleep when paired with chamomile and lavender tea, and on multiple occasions I’ve had it totally wipe out a tension headache (whereas most other herbal remedies just temporarily relieve the pain)
For joint pain, the first thing I’d recommend is a magnesium oil spray. Magnesium is an important mineral that most people are deficient in, and it helps with joint and muscle pain as well as calming the mind. The best form of magnesium is magnesium chloride, and it’s most readily absorbed into the cells through the skin (rather than taken internally). Spray some on the bottoms of your feet before bed, or the inside of the arms and back of the neck (anywhere the skin is thin, really). (this is similar to epsom salts, but those are usually magnesium sulfate, which isn’t quite as readily absorbed. in a pinch, regular epsom salt baths or foot soaks are a good substitute for the spray)
My final recommendation is tart cherry, which can be found as juice, capsules, or powder. Tart cherry can help relieve joint pain and inflammation, and it contains naturally occurring melatonin, which is the sleep hormone that your brain produces
