Pregnant Charles Week Day 3: Historical/Medieval au (ABO)

what happens is that Charles’ pup arrives early and he has to give birth alone while his husband is at war, he’s inconsolable at first but everything is fine after Erik rushes from the battle and arrives right after the birth to be with his mate and meet their pup <3

In any X-men omegaverse au Charles obviously is going to have a mating bite courtesy of Magneto.

Except I lean towards the worldbuilding where mating bites and bonds will wear off in time if they're not actively maintained.

But Charles still spends more time with a mating bite/bond than not because every time it's nearly been long enough or has just been long enough for it to wear off he and Magneto end up working together for one reason or another and by the end of it Charles has a fresh bite and renewed bond.

The timing is actually coincidental (and more a testiment to how often they end up working together) but is still very much the elephant in the room when Magneto inevitably leaves again and they return to being advesaries.

they fall in love pretty quickly with all those late night conversations and chess and stuff, which leads to erik giving charles the claiming bite somewhere during the recruitment trip. which is way too soon by social standards but they just felt such a deep connection with each other that it made them think would never part.

charles only realizes how reckless that was after cuba, when someone sees the mark and asks 'you really allowed the guy that you've known for a couple of weeks bite you???'

cue charles suffering from bond withdrawal on top of all he has to go through between fc and dofp and erik suffering from the same thing in prison.

Xmen mpreg/omegaverse fic idea I probably won't get around to writing is the battle of wills that's going on between Magneto's "I don't trust the humans intentions at all and don't want any of them near my mate and child past what is absolutely necessary in the course of the pregnancy and delivery" vs Charles' "Of course the medical student can sit in on the appointment as a learning opportunity. Do you want them to examine me as well to get some hands-on experience?"
