Full Name: Charles Lavelle Nicknames: Lavelle, Charlie (family only) Universe: Dalin (imperial Dalin, ~100 years before the present, but exists as a ghost in modern times) Species: Ghost (once human) Age: 34 at death (died 99 years ago) Birthday: Sometime in December Height: Possesses an 8"-tall teddy bear Pronouns: He/It, but prefers He/Him (cis male in life) Orientation: Bisexual Occupation: Former soldier, now a guardian spirit to a young Seer and witch (a character who belongs to @rosemarythewitchyy) Abilities: Because he's incorporeal, he can walk through solid objects, visible only to Seers or animals, and cannot be "killed" in the traditional sense. With enough concentrated energy, he can move solid objects or recreate sensations such as hugs or physical pain. However, he hates being without a solid form, and will always try to possess something (usually an object like a toy that won't be harmed but also has limbs to control) to avoid the feelings that come from being exposed and body-less. Basic Personality: Lavelle is mild and well-mannered, a gentleman in life and in death, and doesn’t like to force his presence on anyone. Rather, he is more fatherly, and his primary goal in his un-life is to protect those who cannot protect themselves and will remain calm unless stirred to action to accomplish these ends. He is a dreamer at heart, yet detail-oriented from his military career, and courageous to a fault. However, he can be impossibly stubborn since he is so driven, and tit-for-tat when kept from his goals, to the point of acting more like a stereotypical ghost. Lavelle was from a military family (his father was an admiral), so it was expected that he carry on the tradition of service, and he entered the army as soon as he was eligible, where he underwent rigorous training. After he graduated and as he toured throughout his home kingdom (Luthor), he ended up meeting his future wife, Hannah Redding, and they quickly hit it off. They married and had a daughter together (Julia), and she quickly became the apple of his eye. He did his best to be present for her despite his military career and she would always ask about him when he was away, with the promise that her father would always return safely and in one piece.

And he kept this promise... until Julia was about 6. Lavelle was called to serve the Emperor of the Four Kingdoms overseas as a guard. A few months into his deployment, he and a fellow guard were accompanying him for a speech in the city of Oteru, when an anti-imperialist protestor threw a grenade at the three of them. All three of the men were killed before Lavelle could react, and it took him several minutes to realize he had died, as his spirit rushed around trying to usher the living to safety. He only realized what happened when he saw his own body on the ground.

While the other two spirits were able to move on shortly after their deaths, Lavelle remained bound to the city of Oteru, thousands of miles from home, as he still struggles to forgive himself for failing to protect the Emperor and the people and also breaking his promise to his daughter. However, by chance, he came across a young Seer and witch from a toxic household whom he now vows to protect with his life, and views as a second daughter until he can move on and reunite with his family.
