hi, can I request a fluffy leighton x reader where the reader is having just a really bad day (late to class, someone spilled coffee on her, etc) and sheâs just super stressed and anxious and leighton notices and tries to make her feel better and helps her through it? and ofc leightonâs roommates are totally unused to seeing her being soft with someone so theyâre all shocked and stuff
Softie
Sometimes life just seemed to fuck you over and today was just one of those days. It started early in the morning, or well it didnât which was the problem. Your alarm didnât ring as your phone charger didnât work. You woke up a lot later than you normally did resulting in you getting late to class and after class was finally done and the prof was done lecturing you about being late, you walked out of the room just for someone to bump into you and spill their hot coffee over your shirt. As you were already late you didnât have time to change for your next course, instead just closing the jacket which was at least a bit better.
When it was finally time to eat, at least in theory, you went back to your dorm room to change and since your phone was still off you couldnât even text your friends about not coming. Happy to finally arrive at your dorm you opened the door just to hear weird noise coming from your room. It took you a second to figure out what those noises were before sighing, your roommates sex life really always was your enemy. Since you couldnât go into your room you just grabbed a new jacket to pull over your shirt, hoping that itâd fix the problem at least a bit.
During lunch, your friends sat at the same table as always. Leighton was constantly checking her phone, a worried look on her face. âItâs weird that sheâs not answering right?â She asked her friends making them freeze for a moment, it wasnât often that the blonde was asking for advice.
âWait, is the leighton Murray worried about someone else?â Whitney asked, fake surprise in her voice as she widens her eyes earning an annoyed look from her friend.
âDid you maybe do something to upset her?â Kimberly asked innocently.
âOh my god, did you say somebody elseâs name during sex?â Bella intervened, making the rest of the group cringe. Especially Leighton who shuddered before shaking her head.
âWhat kind of question is that? Of course not and I donât think I did anything to upset her. Yesterday everything was fine, we were out and then she brought me home, kissed me good night and went to her dorm. Later we texted shortly before saying good night and going to sleep. Since then I havenât heard from herâ she explained, wrecking her brain trying to think of anything she could have done. The rest was still kinda perplex, the blonde never talked about her private life like this. It already took them hours to get out of her who she was dating.
âWell, do you know if she had a course with anyone you could ask?â Whitney suggested.
âOh, Lila. Didnât you have Econ or whatever with y/n this morning?â She suddenly called out to the girl who was walking by their table.
âYeah I did, dude was late as shit and left me alone in that boring ass courseâ Lila complained on and on until the blonde finally interrupted her.
âWhat do you mean she was late?â You were normally very punctual so this was already kinda weird.
âWhat do you mean âwhat I mean?â Class started at 7:30, your hot stuff girlfriend arrived at like 8:15, leaving me alone for 45 minutes. But she did seem like she had a rough night or morning. If she did, that bitch is excused. But only this onceâ with that the sips manager disappeared.
After a moment Leighton stood up and grabbed her food confusing the rest of them as she didnât say anything. âWhere are you going?â Bela asked.
âI wish I could be looking for my girlfriend but instead I have to go and write a shitty math test that is way to easy anywayâ she aggressively packed away her stuff before storming off to her lecture.
You never thought youâd say that youâd rather be in Leightons weird ass math class than at sips. But Thursdays were always extremely full and a lot of the people there were frat boys who treated workers like shit. Normally you were at least two people on Thursdays but Zoe had to call in sick last minute leaving you alone with a whole lot of work. Throughout your whole shift the frat boys tried to humiliate you and made you work twice as hard as they spilled everything on purpose and didnât throw away anything. Your shift went an hour and a half longer than normal exhausting you even more.
Once you could finally leave you felt like breaking down, your eyes were wet, your bottom lip trembling and you were barely moving your feet. As soon as you entered the building your body moved on its own finding the way to your girlfriendâs dorm who was still panicking. She only knew that you were alive was due to other people telling her that they saw you. âIf I donât hear from her in the next hour Iâll get the police or some shitâ she told the others while aggressively typing on her phone. âI have been everywhere. Her sips shift was over over an hour ago. I was at her dorm, the library, the cafeteria and the gym but sheâs nowhere to be foundâ she added.
âHave you looked at sips?â Whitney asked making the blonde scoff.
âItâs Thursdayâ she answered leaving everybody confused, âShe hates it there on Thursdays, so why would she stay longer?â While Kimberly found it unbelievably cute that Leighton knew which days you liked and which not she realized that the blonde didnât have a clue how shifts might work.
Just as she was about to explain that to her there was a knock on the door. The youngest Murray sibling quickly jumped up to see who was behind the door, a relief sigh leaving her when she saw you. But her relief quickly disappeared when she saw how your shoulders were hanging, your eyes wet and barely sparkling anymore and your lips trembling when you tried to greet her. Everybody looked at you, making it even worse. Leighton quickly pulled you in to the room, her hands caressing your cheek softly. âWhat happened y/n?â She asked carefully while studying your face.
You tried to speak but every time you wanted to open your mouth, you could feel yourself starting to cry. The blonde didnât want to force you to speak so she just wrapped you in a hug which made you sob out. âShh, itâs okay. Everything is gonna be okayâ she mumbled over and over, feeling all her roommates watch her. They couldnât believe it, Leighton was hugging someone and in addition to that, someone who was crying. While they stared at her, she tightened her arms around you as she felt your legs giving out. âBela, Kimberly couchâ she asked. They quickly stood up and set on the seats across the couch so you two could sit there. When your cries slowly died down, the blonde pointed at the fridge, making Kimberly get up to get you a bottle of water. âThank youâ
Once your girlfriend had forced you to drink some water with the words âyou donât want to look puffy later do you?â, she repeated her question from before. âItâs stupid, reallyâ you answered but the look she gave you made you continue. âI just had a bad dayâ you then explained, looking down at your hands.
âThat isnât stupid, loveâ she comforted, her hands still rubbing circles across your back.
âCan we ask what happened?â Whitney said carefully. One, she didnât wanna upset you further, and two, she was scared of Leighton is she did upset you further.
âItâs just, my charger broke so my phone didnât load which meant that my alarm didnât ring. Then I was too late to Econ and the prof lectured me like half an hour after the lecture that I was too late and as soon as I left the room somebody spilled their hot coffee onto me, but I was already too late to change. So I had to sit in my next lecture drenched in hot coffee and when I wanted to change during lunch I walked into my dorm just for my roommate to have another one night stand over, so I couldnât change. And when I arrived at sips I was told that Zoe called in sick so I was alone and it was so full and these stupid frat boys were there so I had to work longer than my shift went and they made me spill oat milk on myselfâ by the end you were nearly crying again. If it wasnât for Leighton giving you comfort you definitely would.
âSee, I told you Zoe is evilâ Whitney pointed out, receiving a glare from Leighton which made you chuckle a bit. The moment the sound left your mouth the blonde stopped glaring and instead smiled at you. âIâm sorry the day was so shittyâ she then added.
âOh, I know these frat boys theyâre so rude. They always knock their coffee down on purposeâ Kimberly said, hoping that that would help you.
âDid you take on of those anxiety pills?â Leighton asked.
âNo, theyâve been empty for like three weeks but the pharmacy isnât delivering them. I called like 60 times and I even went there but nothing. Theyâre ignoring meâ you explained while playing with the blondes fingers to calm yourself down.
âWait, are you still wearing the shirt with the oat milk on it?â Bela asked as her eyes wandered down to your shirt. You gave her a nod with your lips pressed into a thin line.
âAlright, get up. Youâre going to change and then we are going to deal with the restâ you only whined, moving seemed really hard right now and youâd rather not do anything. But the blonde grabbed your hand and pulled you up and into her room. The others tried to give you privacy but couldnât help the glance through the open door where they witnessed Leighton pulling the shirt over your head and helping you put on another one. You didnât even need to be told to get on the bed, instead just immediately falling into it, burying your face in the pillow that smelled like your girlfriend.
âAre you gonna come cuddle?â Your voice was muffled due to the pillow which somehow made the whole thing even cuter to Leighton. She nodded and placed herself next to you so you could cuddle. The fact that you were now going to sleep while it wasnât even 5 pm wasnât something she liked as youâd definitely have problems sleeping later but she ultimately decided that an hour wonât hurt after the day you had. Sheâd just wake you up when it was time for dinner.
âNo! I mean today, latest in 2 hours. I donât care, weâve been waiting for these meds for weeks now!â Leighton nearly screamed into the phone as she exited her room, âLook if you donât want a lawsuit youâll bring them in the next two hours. Oh trust me, I have the money to run you down until you do not have a penny anymore. Thank you very muchâ when she hung up the phone she saw three pair of eyes starring at her.
âWhat?â She asked her roommates.
âWhat was that?â Whitney asked, her brows furrowed while the rest also starred at her.
âThat damn pharmacy thatâs been blowing y/n offâ she shrugged as she sat down next to Bela on the couch. âOh, Kimberly. Do you still have that calming green tea?â
âUhm, yeah I do. I think itâs in the drawer over there, take as many as you needâ the girl pointed to a drawer close to the fridge making Leighton stand up to find the package.
âGreat, thank you. Iâm gonna get some of y/ns favorite snacks. Does anybody else want something?â After each of them added at least on snack she quickly walked to the small store on campus to get everything. Once she was back the medication was already in front of the door and she still had enough time to brew your tea before she wanted to wake you. âAlright everybody, here are your snacksâ she announced as she placed their bag on the table, keeping yours safely stowed in her hand while she heated up a cup of water.
âLove, come on. Wake up, itâs dinner time soonâ she carefully shook you awake before placing a soft kiss in your cheek.
âHow long did I sleep?â You grumbled as you hid your face in her stomach, still way too sleepy to think clear. The way the blonde brushed her fingers through your hair nearly made fall back asleep.
âLike an hour, but itâs dinner time and you gotta eat something so up you goâ she encouraged noticing your hesitation and the way your eyes were darting around endlessly. It was a typical thing you did when you got anxious. âHey, itâs alright. I even got you your meds so your mind and body can relax a bitâ She presented the meds and the tea to you after helping you sit up.
âThank youâ she only gave you a soft smile and wrapped an arm around you.
Not long after you sat in the cafeteria, just observing the discussion the table had while eating your food. Due to the medication you were a lot calmer, giving you time to rest. Your whole body leaned against Leightons something she actually encouraged. Except for Bela, who once saw Leighton and the first girl she knew of make out, no one of them had ever seen her this touchy with anybody.
âHey what are you guys thinking about watching a movie before we go to sleep? Thereâs a new Netflix movie that I think weâd all enjoyâ Kimberly suggested, earning a yes from everybody except Leighton who instead looked at you who said yes.
âAre you sure youâre up for this?â She whispered to you who was laying on her shoulder. You really liked Kimberly and she was scared that you were only too nice to say no. The nod you gave her didnât convince her at all so you grabbed her chin to title her head down making it easier for you to press a kiss to her lips.
âI promise Iâm up for thisâ you reassured again, she nodded at you and then at Kimberly who happily clapped her hands.
After all of you finished eating you redecorated the dorms common room so all of you could sit comfortably while watching the movie on the small projector Leighton bought during on of her shopping trips. You sat in front of your girlfriend, your back against her front with a blanket over your legs. To everybodies surprise the movie was actually good and all of you enjoyed it. At least until your eyelids became heavier and you drifted to sleep in her arms. When she noticed that you were asleep she pulled the blanket higher and pressed a kiss to your forehead mumbling a quiet âsleep wellâ.
âWho knew Leighton Murray could be such a softie?â Whitney grinned as she looked at you two earning an agreeing nod from the other two.
âWhat?!â The blonde asked visibly confused.
âDude youâre a simp for your girlâ Bela laughed enjoying the look on her roommates face.
âI am notâ she argued back. âYouâre so lucky sheâs asleep otherwise Iâd beat you upâ
âWell, sheâd kinda right. But like in a good way, you really care for her and itâs very sweetâ Kimberly explained knowing that Leighton wouldnât do anything to her as you liked her too much. Something that actually proved what she just said.
âWhatever! You guys are crazyâ she complained feeling you stir slightly in her arms, âand now be quiet before you wake herâ
âSimpâ Bela whispered while turning her focus back on the movie only to miss the pillow that was chucked her way.
She knew that she was soft for you and she loved it, she loved you. But that wasnât her roommates business.

i love it when people apply the whole âhumans are space orcsâ idea to transformer humans.
jack, miko and raf just doing regular, average day things that make the bots both extremely worried and unsettled gives me so much brainrot.
I got you here. I love this kind of lore/reaction ask.
Each of the children have a particular habit that bothers the team more than anything else. Can it be explained? Not really. All humans do the things they do. But for the bots, it is strange and out of sorts all the same.
Miko always carries around a bottle of sparkling water. She adores the stuff. The team, despite knowing it is not what the name implies, are still horrified with her drinking habits. Not to mention, they can't help but wonder where all the liquid goes. She drinks up to three whole bottles of water a day. In her own words "Hydrate or die." That in it of itself is concerning since the team, while well aware that humans need water, do not know how much they need exactly. The team are down right terrified of her ability to down water like a dry sponge. How can such a small fleshy even consume that much? They aren't entirely sure. Not only that, but if she drinks that much, then are Jack and Rafael getting enough? They can't be.
Not only does Miko down water like a bone dry houseplant, she also drinks just about anything else too. The team have seen her chug sodas which contain Primus knows how many strange chemicals and compounds. They've observed her willingly drink things that no other would on bets, including food that has been blended and watered down just because Jack wanted to see if it was possible for her to down hotdog cafeteria milk cheeto apple slurry.
Yes the team are terrified of humans and their ability to put anything inside themselves and walk it off. But more than any other, they fear Miko. Who knows what she's consumed.
All the kids do it, but Jack is the most notable since when he needs to go to the restroom, he makes it loud and clear mainly so that someone knows to keep an eye on Miko. The team are aware that organics have a need to manually handle removing waste since their systems are rather inefficient, however there is a certain level of mysteriousness surrounding the restrooms. The bots don't want to watch or even know HOW the humans get rid of waste, but they do know that THINGS happen in the restroom that seem to either be painful, emotional, refreshing, or aggravating. No one can really be sure what reaction will follow those who enter the space. Sometimes Jack or one of the other kids will go in there seemingly to just be alone.
It is a strange and almost sacred location where strange happenings occur. Miko went in once with bloody clothes and emerged with a fresh set before Ratchet could figure out what was wrong in the first place. Jack went in once and came out an hour later looking like he'd gone to war after he convinced Arcee to let him stop and get takeout the night before. Rafael took his charger and computer in there and hogged the space for a while to get away from the others once. The team does not know what happens in there, but it is mildly concerning since it either repairs or breaks a person.
Bulkhead theorizes that its a pocket dimension like the shadow zone. Ratchet refuses to think about it. Optimus will say nothing about whatever he knows. Arcee and Bee assume its a safe haven or sorts and Wheeljack is almost certain they keep weapons in there. Ultra Magnus and Smokescreen both agree that the restroom is simply a quiet space where a human can deal with personal issues in peace.
No bot is willing to try and confirm anything since humans flip out at any attempts to view the supposedly sacred ground.
Rafael is generally pretty good about flying under the radar most of the time, but he has a habit that has caught the team's attention. Humans have been noted doing what they can to clean themselves on their own. Its rather ineffective to clean one's own venting openings with digits considering the sheer amount of germs involved, but it is not out of the question to do so when a cleaning cloth is not available. Rafael occasionally and quietly trying to clean his nose is not what bothers the team.
No what horrifies them is the goop that he pulls out after his attempt at cleaning. What Ratchet has studied states that the goop is referred to by a number names, but is commonly called snot. Its the natural germ catcher humans have, but it still unsettles the team whenever Rafael quietly blows a few or when one of the others grabs a tissue and makes a rather disgusting sound as they try to clear their airways.
The goop reminds the team of any number of horrible things. But the sheer amount of GROSS within a small amount of the stuff has left the team all gagging whenever they find the stuff around base. Rafael is usually good about being clean, but sometimes he gets lazy and will use his chair to hide his cleaning attempts. Bumblebee has almost purged a few times seeing the marks on the chair from where Rafael may or may not have wiped his fingers.
Is he twelve? Yes. Is he fully mature? No. That much is evident just by looking at his chair.

CHAPTER FIFTEEN | âđđđ đđ đđđ đđđâ
Fall Semester 2016
âWhoâs the guy again?âÂ
âI met him at the library. He asked to borrow my laptop charger and then when he was handing it back he asked for my number, and he texted asking to hang out,â You quickly explained as you slipped on your jacket and then turned to look at Eddie, who was sitting at your desk.
You werenât particularly excited about the date, but you were excited to do something that you hadnât done in a long time, and the smallest part of you could admit that you were doing this to try and be completely over Eddie. Your feelings being pushed and buried away were one thing, but if you were actually able to date someone else that had to mean that there definitely wasnât anything else there. At least, that was what your mind told you, and it sounded somewhat logical. Â
âIf it sucks and you wanna get out of it, just call me,â Eddie told you.
âRobin already has that job,â You said. âWe have a code word and everything.âÂ
He laughed a little. âWhatâs the code word?âÂ
âDolphin.â
âThatâs very random.âÂ
âYes, and that makes it a more believable code word.âÂ
âOkay, makes sense,â He nodded. âAnyway, if she somehow ends up not answering, I will.âÂ
You doubted that would happenâ you hadnât known Robin for that long, but you already knew that she was very reliable. Still, though, you nodded at Eddieâs words because you liked how much he cared. It didnât necessarily surprise you, but it still warmed your heart all the same. âOkay.âÂ

Spring Semester 2018
It was the book that was making you cry right then. Nothing else.Â
And maybe that wasnât entirely true, but it felt like the easiest explanation.Â
You reread the last page a few more times before finally closing the book and setting it on your desk. It was the same book that youâd been reading in Mexico with Steve a few days ago.Â
He was right about the endingâ the son died, and it happened right after he and the dad finally got in a good place. Of course, heâd been right.
A part of you wanted to text him and tell him that, but you didnât. Instead, you kept silently cryingâ trying to remember the last time a book made you this emotional, but deep down knowing that it really wasnât just the book.Â
You didnât get the chance to force yourself to face the exact reasoning behind your tears before there was a knock on your slightly cracked open door and Robin was walking in a second later.Â
âHey, I have two things I need to tell you. One is a question from Talia, who is too lazy to get out of bed right now, and the other is very fun news,â She stopped when she noticed you crying. âWoah, shit, you okay?â
âYeah, sorry, Iâm fine. I just finished reading this book and the ending was pretty sad,â You answered, haphazardly pushing your tears away with the sleeves of the sweater you were wearing. âWhatâs up, though?â
âIs Steve coming to game night on Monday? Talia wants to decide on teams now because she doesnât want to get stuck with Eddie again.â
âOh, um, me and him broke upâŠâ The words felt so weird coming from your lips and you suddenly wondered if it had been stupid to not tell her and everyone else sooner. Instead, over the last few days, you simply didnât talk about him because the timing never felt right enough to say what you shouldâve said.
âWait, what?â The confused look on Robin's face was easy to read. âIs that why youâre actually crying right now?â
You quickly shook your head. âNo, no, it was just about the book. The Steve thing doesnât even matter to me.â
âSo, what happened? And when? Was it the trip? Did he hurt you? Do I need to kill him?â
You couldnât help but laugh a little at how fast she was talking as she sat down at the foot of your bed. You turned to face her. âNo, you donât need to kill him, and yes, it happened right when we got back. We just realized that we want different things.â You shrugged halfheartedly. âSorry, it took me so long to tell you; I know itâs only been a few days, but still. I just didnât really wanna think about it, I guess.â
âItâs fine, that makes sense,â She assured you. âI know you and him werenât dating for long but you two were really cute together.â
Hearing her say that, pulled at something in you for a second, but then you remembered that that just meant that you and Steve had been really good actors, pretenders, liars.
âOh, what was the other thing you wanted to tell me?â You asked, shifting the subject. âYou said fun news?â
Robin nodded. âOh, yeah, I just found out about this party tonight at this girlâs lake house thatâs an hour away. You wanna come?â
âIâm not really in a party mood,â You answered after the briefest moment of hesitation. It probably wouldâve been good to get out of the apartment and actually do something that didnât involve lounging on the couch in the living room, like youâd been doing since you got back from Mexico, but you couldnât imagine leaving the confines of your room right then. âSorry.â
âNo, thatâs understandable,â Robin told you. âI know you said that youâre fine about the breakup, but is there anything you want right now? We can watch a shitty movie, and Vickie will probably be okay with you having the last of her mint chocolate chip ice cream.â
You shook your head at her suggestions. âNo, Iâm okay, honestly. But, thanks, though.â
She smiled at you. âOf course, no problem. What are friends for if not someone to do cliche breakup stuff with? We could also burn any pictures you have of Steve, or throw eggs at his car, or key it?â
You laughed at that. âGreat ideas, but hard no to all of them.â
âOkay, well, once you get to the anger stage of your grief, Iâll happily revisit any of those ideas with you.â
âThere are no stages and there is no grief,â You told her as she got up from your bed. âIâm completely okay.â
âYouâre voluntarily staying in on a Saturday night. I donât know if I would call that âcompletely okay.ââ
âThis is very normal behavior for me.â
She considered your words for a second. âOkay, yeah, maybe thatâs true.âÂ
.ă»ă.ă»ăâă».ă»â«ă»ăă»ă. .ă»ă.ă»ăâă».ă»â«ă»ăă»ă
It was the first time that the silence within the apartment felt okay. It actually wasnât completely silent, you were watching a movie on the couch, but you were alone and felt entirely fine with that.Â
You could feel yourself slowly falling asleepâ head against one of the throw pillows and blanket pulled over you and it didnât even really matter to you that it wasnât even eleven oâclock yetâ when there was a knock on the door.Â
Weirdly enough, your immediate thought was that it was Steve, mainly because you knew that everyone else who couldâve been at the door right then was at a party an hour away. Â
Instead, though, when you opened the door with your blanket still wrapped around you, it was Eddie standing there.
âHey, I assumed you went with everyone to that lake house thing,â You said, pushing the door open further to let him in.Â
âRobin mentioned it to me, but I had already planned on meeting up with a couple people from one of my classes at some bar,â He responded and you nodded as you closed the door behind him.Â
You looked at him for a second. There was something weird about his demeanor right then. It seemed like something was wrong, and that quickly worried you because you couldnât easily tell what that something was.
âIs everything okay?â
He shook his head, and for a few moments that was the only response you got, but then he was saying, âNot really.âÂ
âYouâre being soââ You stopped mid-sentence when you finally noticed his right hand, how red and bruised it was. âOh, shit, what the hell happened to your hand?â
âIt looks worse than it feels,â He said, giving you a small smile. âOkay, actually, it feels pretty bad too.â
You dropped your blanket on the couch and then went over to the kitchen, grabbing one of the few small hand towels that sat next to the stove and then pulling some ice out of the freezer.Â
âCome here,â You told him as you put the ice in the towel and made some sort of makeshift ice pack. Eddie joined you in the kitchen and you grabbed his bruised hand, softly placing the towel on top of it. You looked up at him. âWhat happened?â
He was quiet for way too long; things became almost unbearably quiet. You lightly nudged him with your foot. âEddie.âÂ
He broke your gaze, looking down instead. âFuck, it really sucks that I have to tell you this. Iâm sorry.â
Hearing him say that only confused you further. âTell me what?â
âI also saw Steve at the bar I was atâŠâ Eddie started and then trailed off for a second. The look on his face made it seem as if the next thing he was about to say to you was going to be the most devastating thing ever. âAnd he was making out with some girl.â
âOh,â Was all you said at first because you didnât really understand why Eddie was telling you that right then and why he made it sound like the biggest deal in the world. And then, after the briefest of seconds, you were quickly realizing. âOh.â
âIâm sorry,â Eddie told you, thinking that your âohâ was a sad one. âI wish I did a lot more than just punch him, but the security at that place is actually good so they immediately threw me out.â
Given what you two were currently doing in your kitchen, you shouldâve expected Eddie to say that, but it still surprised you so much that you could feel your eyes widen. âWhat? You punched him?â
âOf course I did,â Eddie said, like it had been an obvious choice. âI saw him cheating on you.â
You dropped your hands from his and immediately covered your face. âOh my god. I canât believe you did that.â
âPlease donât try to defend him right now. I know you really like him, probably even love him, but what he did is so fucked up.â
You were shaking your head and kept your hands covering your face as you said, âHe didnât cheat on me.âÂ
âIâm sorry,â You heard Eddie say. âBut, I promise you I know what I saw. I wouldnât be telling you this if I wasnât a thousand percent sure. I also wouldnât have punched him if I wasnât sure.â
You couldâve simply told him that you and Steve were broken up just like you told Robin earlier, but you suddenly felt tired of lying, and for once, telling the truth genuinely felt easier.Â
You dropped your hands from your face and looked at Eddie. âHe didnât cheat on me because we're not together. We were never really together.âÂ
It surprisingly felt like so much of a relief to say it out loud, to finally be honest, so you kept going. âIt was all fake; the entire relationship. And Iâm so sorry for lying to you and to everyone. This entire thing ended up being so stupid and the worst idea ever. But, I donât know, at first I thought it could be kinda good. And Steve thought so too; he was the one to suggest it actually, and he also had his own reasons for wanting to do this fake dating thing. I figured this could be the best way to do something about my feelings for you without outwardly admitting how I felt and potentially fucking up our friendship in the process, and I wouldnât have to live in the unknown anymore like Iâve been since freshman year. And just for a second it seemed like it actually was working, and maybe you did feel something back. But then we had that conversation on your fire escape and I knew then that youâd never see me as anything more than as your best friend. It kinda hurt finally realizing that, but eventually it felt okay, though.âÂ
You let out a breath and inwardly felt as if the biggest weight had just been lifted off of your shoulders.
âYou liked me?â That wasnât exactly what you expected to hear Eddie say in response to your word vomit, but it made sense; it was the big âwhyâ behind everything you did for the last month. Â
âYeah, sorry, I guess I kinda glossed over that part in my super long-winded explanation,â You said, a sudden shyness hit you and you looked away from him. âI did. I was stupidly in love for a really long time. I finally got over it after we had that conversation, though. But, I still had to fulfill my side of the deal I had with Steve, so I did that in Mexico and when we came back, that was it. Life was back to normal. But I was a fucking idiot and didnât tell you that me and him were âbroken up,â so here we are now.â
âIâm sorry,â Eddie said, a soft look on his face. âIâm sorry I didnât know how you felt. Iâm sorry I couldnât see it.â
âNo, please donât be sorry. This is all on me. I did all of this complicated shit instead of simply talking to you about everything,â You said, leaning back against the counter. âBecause you were so right that day, we are just meant to be best friends. That's the way that weâre supposed to be in each otherâs lives. I get that now.â Â
He got quiet again, probably still processing everything that you had just told him, which you had to admit was a lot.Â
âAre we okay?â You asked when the silence started becoming too much to bear. âDid this fuck everything up like I thought it would?âÂ
Eddie shook his head at your questions. âOf course not. You could never fuck things up between us, and I feel really bad that you ever thought that you could, and I also wish that I had felt the same way about you⊠I do love you. Itâs justâŠâ
The smallest part of you expected to feel hurt finally hearing the rejection, but surprisingly you didnât. âJust not in that way. I know. Itâs okay. Please donât feel bad. I know that we shouldnât be together. Iâve accepted that,â You told him. âAnd I really wanna say that we should just forget this entire conversation ever happened because it would make things a lot easier and Iâd also feel a lot less embarrassed if we did, but I donât think we should do that. This may sound weird, but it actually feels kind of good having the truth out in the open.â
âOkay,â He said with a nod.
You looked back down at his hand and the towel covering it.Â
âHowâs it feeling?â You asked, slightly shifting the subject.Â
âBetter, kinda. The ice feels good,â He answered and then let out something that sounded like a breath of a laugh and a scoff in disbelief as he shook his head. âJesus Christ, I canât believe I punched him.â
âMe neither. But thank you for defending my honor, I guess?â
He smiled at you; a genuine smile that let you know that things were actually okay between you two. âAnytime.âÂ
.ă»ă.ă»ăâă».ă»â«ă»ăă»ă. .ă»ă.ă»ăâă».ă»â«ă»ăă»ă
âSo, everything with Steve was fake,â Eddie said when you two were settled on the couch, the movie you had put on earlier still playing. His words sounded slightly like a question, but also like he was still just trying to make sense of everything that you had previously told him.
âYes, and letâs wait at least a month before we start joking about this. I need to let my poor bruised ego heal first,â You responded, dramatically pressing your hands to your heart, a small smile on your face.Â
Eddie laughed a bit. âDeal.âÂ
And you expected that to be that. Everything was out in the open and everything was fine. You still had to tell everyone else the truth, but you knew that would end up being okay too. And once you did tell everyone, everything could all be put in the past and you could finally move on from it. There wouldnât be anything lingering or festering; no âwhat ifsâ or whatever else.Â
âCan I ask something?â Eddie asked, voice getting soft again, and you nodded in response, unsure where he was going to go with his question. âWas it hard keeping how you felt a secret? Iâm trying to think about if the roles were reversed, and I donât think I wouldâve been able to keep it from you.âÂ
âHonestly, sometimes it was hard, but also not really. And I know thatâs kind of a contradictory answer, but itâs true,â You answered, somehow finding it so easy to be honest now. âFor the most part, my feelings were shoved to the side and I pretended that they werenât there. Like, when you were dating Chrissy, because I obviously didnât wanna get between what you two had, and when you two broke up, because I knew that you werenât ready for anything new. They still lingered deep down, though. And it was always random moments when I would get reminded that they were still there. But, keeping our friendship intact always felt more important than admitting anything because I love our friendship.â
He nodded understandingly. âI love it too.â
âOkay, this is kind of random, but do you remember that frat party we went to freshman year right before winter break?â You asked, and before he could say anything in response, you continued, forcing yourself to say what you had never said out loud before. âWe were both stupidly drunk, and at one pointâ I think it was right before we were about to leaveâ you got, like, pushed into me by some random person, and we were standing really close, and then we, uh, kissed.â
The surprised look on his face was entirely expected. âI vaguely remember the party. But, I donât remember the kiss, though. Iâm sorry.â
âNo, itâs okay. When we talked about the party the day after, you basically said that it was all kind of a blur to you, so thatâs what I figured. I wasn't entirely sure if you didnât remember it, so a part of me had wanted to ask back then, but in that moment I thought it was just easier to let it go.âÂ
It was almost startling how honest you were being with him right thenâ saying things that you didnât think youâd ever admit out loudâ and how perfectly okay it all felt. And weirdly enough, this also felt like the most honest youâd ever been with yourself too.Â
âThinking about it now,â You continued. âThat probably shouldâve been the moment that I let myself get over you. Because I couldâve told you about the kiss right then and there, but I didnât want whatever your response would beâ whether it be a rejection or whatever elseâ to change anything between us. And it was the same thing when we came back from break, and I was so close to admitting everything to you, but you told me that you and Chrissy were together first. I probably shouldâve still told you then. And maybe I never did because deep down I always knew that nothing should change between us. I donât know⊠A part of me is still trying to make it all make sense. But then, at the same time, I've been trying to avoid it all and not think about it.â You sighed. âThe last couple of weeks have been pretty weird and confusing.â
âMaybe itâs not supposed to easily make sense, or make sense at all. And I know thatâs probably a shit response, butâŠâ Eddie trailed off and then shrugged after a moment.Â
âNo, I get what you mean,â You said, nodding at his words, and then you thought about something. âHonestly, the only thing that has ever really made sense with us is this. Watching movies together, listening to music, talking about unserious things, and also talking about the most serious things ever; stuff I never thought to tell anyone else.â You smiled at him. âOh, and getting stuck in elevators together too.âÂ
He smiled back at you before saying, âThe elevator thing sadly only happened once.âÂ
âWe can try to recreate it one day.â
âGreat idea,â Eddie responded with a nod. âThe elevator in that building is still probably shitty.âÂ
âSo true. And if not, we can just start jumping in it and thatâll probably do the job.â
âOr it will kill us.â  Â
You couldnât help but laugh at that and Eddie laughed too and then winced as he readjusted the towel on his hand.Â
That was what made you finally think about Steve. Was he even okay?Â
And then you immediately felt like shit for not considering that question sooner.Â
You abruptly got up from the couch and headed into your room before Eddie could question you. You grabbed the Advil bottle from your bathroom and then tossed it over to him when you walked back out into the living room.Â
âFor the pain. Take two of these and try to go to sleep. You can even take my bed if you wanna,â You told him and then headed to the fridge to grab a bag of frozen vegetables from the freezer. âI'm gonna go check on Steve. And yes, Iâm stealing your van.â
Eddie pulled his keys out of his jacket pocket and handed them over to you. There was an amused look on his face. âWhenâs the last time you drove?â
âDonât question my driving skills right now, Munson,â You said as you slipped the keys into the pocket of the sweatpants you were wearing and then grabbed the first zip-up hoodie you saw hanging on one of the hooks by the door. âGoodnight.âÂ
.ă»ă.ă»ăâă».ă»â«ă»ăă»ă. .ă»ă.ă»ăâă».ă»â«ă»ăă»ă
It wasnât until you were standing outside the door of Steveâs apartment that you realized that maybe he wasnât even here. Heâd been on a date, or at least, with someone when Eddie saw him, so there was a chance that he was still with her.Â
Still, though, you knocked. And, surprisingly enough, he answered.
His faceâ more specifically, his left eyeâ looked bad; very bruised, and already settled into the dark red and purplish color that it would probably be for the next few days.Â
âOh my god. Iâm so sorry,â You said, immediately handing over the frozen peas you had in your hand; they obviously werenât as cold as they were before the twenty-minute drive to get here, but they still felt good enough. âAll of this is my fault. It completely slipped my mind to tell Eddie that we âbroke up.â I didnât tell anyone, actually, except for Robin, but that was just today. Iâm really sorry. The last few days have been weird.â
Steve gave you a small smile that felt entirely undeserved and he pushed the door open further so that you could walk into his apartment. âItâs okay.âÂ
You shook your head. âItâs really not. You have a black eye because of me being an idiot.â
âThis would be the part where Iâd say that you should see the other guy to prove that this isnât as bad as it looks, but youâve already seen him, so that doesnât really work in this situation,â Steve told you jokingly and you shook your head, giving him a small smile back. You still felt like shit, but at least he didnât seem to hate you for causing all of this. âHow did you get here?âÂ
âI drove Eddieâs van. He came to my place after it happened,â You said and Steve nodded understandingly. âYouâre right, though. His hand looks worse than your eye.â You werenât entirely sure if that was even trueâ in all honesty, their injuries probably looked about the same on the bad scaleâ but it felt like the right thing to say at this moment. âI told him everything, by the way. About our whole relationship being fake and me doing it because I had feelings for him.â
Steve looked as if he didnât expect to hear you say that. âHow did that go?â
âSurprisingly good,â You answered honestly. He gave you an almost congratulatory-looking smile in response and you quickly shook your head. âNo, not good in that way. He doesnât feel that way about me. And I knew that. There was this conversation that I had with him before all of this that kind of solidified that for me. It wasnât some huge moment where he outwardly said that he didnât like me, but it gave me the push I needed to finally accept that me and him are only meant to be friends. I donât even feel any other way about him now.â You let out a sigh before letting out a different part of the truth. âI kinda lied to you in Mexico and the days leading up to it. I knew the truth about everything then, but I felt too embarrassed to tell you and I also just really didnât want to think about it.â
âShit, Iâm sorry this didnât work for you,â He sounded so genuine about it and gave you a sad look that reminded you of exactly what you didnât want to happen.Â
You shook your head. âDonât do that. Please donât feel sorry for me.âÂ
âI was the one that kept telling you from the beginning that this was gonna work so now I feel kinda bad that it didnât.âÂ
âOkay, yeah, thatâs true but it doesnât matter now,â You told him. âAnd just because this didnât work for me doesnât mean that I regret itâ I honestly donât regret it. It was dumb and a waste of time for me, but still, I donât really regret it. Also, you got what you wanted out of this, right?â
Steve nodded after a second. âYeah, I actually talked to my mom yesterday and she asked about you and I told her that we broke up.â
âDid you make me a cheater?âÂ
âYeah, and I think she actually feels bad. But, weâll see in a week or two if she brings up the Hamptons,â He answered. âI kind of doubt that she will, though. I tried to seem really upset about everything.âÂ
âI wish I couldâve been there for that phone call. I wouldâve loved to see your acting skills.â
He smiled at your joking words. âThey were fantastic.â
âGood,â You responded. âSo, no finding your future wife this summer?âÂ
âHopefully not.â Â
âCongratulations,â You told him. âAnd youâre welcome for me being the greatest girlfriend during the Mexico trip.â
âI donât know if I should thank you since I do have a black eye now because of you.â
You could tell he was joking, but you still decided to play into it. âWow, so, you are mad at me for that!â
He playfully rolled his eyes at you. âI was kidding.â
âItâs okay to be mad at me. It would be deserved, honestly. And Iâd completely understand if you hate me now. You should hate me.â
He gave you a serious look, but there was still the smallest smile on his face. âStop.âÂ
You held up your hands in mock surrender. âFine, fine. I did just give you a bag of sort of frozen peas to help with your eye, so I feel like you canât be that mad at me, anyway.âÂ
âAnd I will cherish this bag of peas for the rest of my life,â He told you as he placed them over his bruised eye and you could only laugh at that.Â
A comfortable silence lingered for a second, and it was what let you know that this should probably be it. It had barely been ten minutes, but youâd done everything that you felt as if you needed to doâ you checked on him, made sure he was okay, and told him the truthâ there was nothing else to do.Â
But, instead of saying something equivalent to the simple âGoodbyeâ that shouldâve left your lips right then, you said, âCan I stay for a bit?âÂ
âYeah, sure,â Steve answered with a nod.
âYou got throw pillows,â You pointed out as you sat on his couch. You grabbed one of the two gray pillows and placed it in your lap.Â
âYeah, somebody once told me that my couch looked sad and lonely,â He said and that made you smile.
âStill no curtains, though,â You responded, gesturing to the windows.
âOne day Iâll get around to it.â
You gave him a quick nod. âGot it.âÂ
Steve put on a show that you both had seen before and things were quiet for a bit as you rewatched the familiar episode.Â
âOh, you were sadly right, by the way,â You abruptly said, turning to look at him. âI finished the book and the son did die.â
âOh, yeah, I know. When we got back I wanted to find out what happened, so I finished reading it.â
Hearing that surprised you, and it also made you inwardly smile. âReally?â
âMhm,â Steve nodded and then gave you a certain look. âYou cried at the end, didnât you?â
âOf course I did. I really didnât think that he would die,â You answered. âAnd shut up, donât judge me about it.âÂ
âI promise I wasnât gonna.â
âI donât know if I believe you.âÂ
âScouts honor.â
âAnd now Iâm supposed to believe you were a boy scout?â You joked. âYou donât seem outdoorsy enough for that.â
âOuch, I feel offended.â
You laughed as you turned your attention back to the TV. You noticed that the show playing was the same one that you and him had been watching before the power outage; a night that felt like forever ago.Â
This moment felt like the exact opposite of that one. You remembered how weird things initially felt then between you two, or maybe that awkwardness had been entirely in your head. Either way, the main thing that was different here was that in that previous moment, youâd been stuck with him because of the storm and power outage, and in this moment, you werenât stuck. Â
It was then that you were hit with the thought of, What the hell were you doing here right now?
You two werenât even really friends, you remembered. You reminded yourself of what Steve said that night a few days ago and what you two both agreed on from the beginningâ going your separate ways once all of this was done and over.Â
Everything that had happened this past month was fake. And even though youâd been able to recognize that, you had still let a part of you miss it; let yourself miss something that you knew youâd never be able to get back. For the past few days, you thought it was okay to let the smallest part of you feel that wayâ miss the faking and the pretending and the brief friendship that developed because of all of that. But maybe it wasnât okay. Maybe it was only making things worse and more complicated.Â
âActually, I should go,â You abruptly stood up from the couch, placing the pillow back in the spot you picked it up from. You turned to look at Steve and forced a small smile that you hoped didnât look that way. âThis isnât following the âgoing our separate waysâ rule.âÂ
He gave you a confused look for a second, and then he was nodding in agreement. âYeah, youâre right.âÂ
âI know I was kinda joking about it before, but I really am sorry about all of this,â You said as you walked over to his door, turning to look at him before pulling it open.Â
He shook his head. âDonât be.âÂ
You decided against saying anything else right then and instead smiled at him one final time before forcing yourself to leave.

A (Not So) Meet Cute: Chapter Three
Chapter Summary: You're beginning to fall into a new routine with the members of Stray Kids. A phone call from the police stops you dead in your tracks.
Warnings: Descriptions of stalking, reader has a ton of anxiety (rightfully so), cops
Series Masterlist
A/N: will my MCs ever find peace? probably not.
When you woke up the next morning, you doubted that Seungmin would actually walk you to work. After all, why would he wake up early just to be your escort? You went through your routine as usual, making sure to double and triple check that your phone was charged and the charger was in your bag before heading out.
âMorning.â You jumped as you exited your apartment building. Holy shit, Seungmin was really waiting for you. He leaned against the back of a bench across from the entrance, eyebrow quirked in amusement. He wore a mask again today, but went without a hat.
âOh my god, Seungmin, you didnât have to get up early just to walk me to work.â You held your elbow in your hand, feeling guilty for burdening the idol.Â
âI know I didnât have to. I wanted to.â The corners of Seungminâs eyes crinkled and he stood properly to brush his knuckles across your cheek. You gaped at him, suddenly feeling warm despite the cool autumn breeze.Â
âOh, um, okay. If youâre sure. The bus stop is this way.â You led the way to your usual stop, the bus arriving not long after you. The commute honestly wasnât bad, yesterday had been a fluke.Â
âI havenât been on a public bus in years,â Seungmin mentioned as you found open seats. You raised your eyebrows.
âReally? I guess that makes sense, though. Itâs safer for you to have a driver.â You could only assume that being on public transport had too much risk of being recognized.
âTechnically, Iâm not allowed to use buses.âÂ
âAre you going to get in trouble because of this?!â You scolded with a glare. Seungmin shrugged in response, completely unbothered with his little act of rebellion. You shook your head, turning back to your phone to scroll on Instagram for a bit. You angled your phone toward Seungmin when you noticed him looking over your shoulder. Fifteen minutes and four stops later, you stepped off the bus and made the final ten minute walk to the bookstore.
âIâll be back later to walk you home,â Seungmin said as he held the door open for you.
âBut-â
âNo âbutsâ, see you later.â He nudged you into the store and went back the way you had come from. You were left baffled once again, but pushed it aside to focus on your shift.
Over the next week, every member of Stray Kids walked with you to and from work. Seungmin showed up the most out of everyone. It felt like overkill, but they wouldnât accept any arguments from you. Todayâs shift dragged on with how little there was to do. Everything was clean and stocked, there were hardly ten customers in the 3 hours since your shift started, and youâve closed and reopened TikTok at least five times. The soft classical music playing over the store radio threatened to lull you to sleep. You were jolted out of your stupor by your phone buzzing on the counter.
âHello?â
âGood afternoon, this is Officer Jeong. May I speak to Ms. Y/N L/N?â A serious-sounding man asked curtly.
âThis is she.â
âAh, hello Ms. L/N. I am calling on behalf of Detective Keng. She has some new information regarding your case and would like to call you today to discuss,â Officer Jeong explained.Â
âOh! Of course, I finish work at 3pm and should be home around 3:30,â you told the officer. He hummed, keys clicking swiftly in the background.
âThat should work perfectly. Detective Keng will be finished with a meeting at 4pm, so she will be able to call shortly afterward.â You quickly wrote down the detectiveâs name and the time sheâd be calling on a sticky note.
âOkay, thank you for letting me know, Officer.â You exchanged polite goodbyes and hung up. Cool, now that you were incredibly anxious, the next three hours of your shift should go by much more quickly.
You predicted correctly. After finishing the call with Officer Jeong, the afternoon flew by in a blur and soon enough Seungmin appeared to walk you home. You told him about the upcoming phone call and your subsequent anxiety while you sat on the bus.
âDo you want me to stay for the call?â Seungmin offered, albeit a little hesitantly.
âHonestly, that would be really nice. Are you sure, though? You sounded kinda nervous.â
âIâm sure. I just havenât been in your apartment yet and I didnât want to invite myself in, yâknow?â He assured with a smile hidden behind his mask. Back at your apartment, Seungmin sat on your loveseat, watching you pace around your kitchen. He tried to get you to sit down and relax while you waited for the detectiveâs call, but you needed to do something to release your pent-up anxiety. Why didnât Officer Jeong tell you if it was good news or bad news?! Finally, finally your phone rang. You rushed to sit next to Seungmin as you put the call on speaker.
âHi, is this Y/N L/N?â A womanâs voice asked.
âYes, Iâm assuming this is Detective Keng?âÂ
âIt is, I see Officer Jeong was able to talk to you earlier. Iâve been looking into Cho Siwoo, the man that harassed you, and Iâve found some information that may be disturbing to you,â Detective Keng stated. A pit of worry gnawed at your stomach.
âBefore you continue, I have a friend with me. Is it okay if he listens to our conversation?â You were terrified of having to deal with this alone.
âThatâs quite alright.â You sighed quietly in relief. âNow, Mr. Cho has been living with a friend for several months. We interviewed his friend, and searched the apartment. Ms. L/N, it appears that he has been following you far longer than we expected.â
âWhat?â An icy chill creeped its way into your bloodstream. Seungmin scooted slightly closer to you, resting a hand on your knee.Â
âHe has photos printed of you in a Ziploc bag amongst his other belongings. Some of these photos date back to April.âÂ
âBu-but itâs October now,â you stammered. Seungmin tightened his grip on your knee, but you moved his hand to hold in your own.Â
âIâm very sorry to tell you this, Ms. L/N, but heâs been watching for a very long time. There arenât any photos of the inside of your apartment, nor any of you in compromising positions. But weâve found that Mr. Cho has a reputation, and with that comes respect from others on the street.â
âWhat does that mean, exactly?â Seungmin interrupted. Detective Keng sighed tiredly, which only made you more nervous.
âIt means that he has access to information. Ms. L/N, do you have somewhere you can stay for the time being? Iâm afraid your apartment isnât safe at the moment, not until weâre able to confirm who all of Mr. Choâs associates are.â Panicked tears fell down your cheeks. You didnât have anywhere else to go, all you had was this apartment. The closest family member to you was still at least three hours away. You couldnât just leave.
âYes, maâam, she does,â Seungmin answered in your silence. You stared at him, wide-eyed, but he kept his gaze fixed on your phone.Â
âGood. Iâll need the address. I would advise against walking anywhere alone for now. I promise you, I will make sure you and your home are safe again,â Detective Keng assured. The sharp edge to her voice confirmed her commitment. She gave you the number for her work phone, should you need anything, then ended the call. A sob wracked your body. Seungmin pulled you so you sat between his legs, both legs over one of his knees, and wrapped you tightly in his arms. You trembled violently in his hold.
âWhy did you tell her I have somewhere to stay?! I hardly have friends in this city and my family is hours away, and I canât affordââ
âY/N,â Seungmin cut off your rambling, holding your face in his hands and forcing your eyes to meet his. âYouâre staying with us.â
âWhat? No, Seungmin, I canât ask you to do that.â
âGood thing youâre not asking. Iâm telling you, you can stay with us,â he insisted.Â
âHave you even asked the others about this? Even if you say I can, what if they say no?â Seungmin rolled his eyes, pulling out his phone and starting a call on speaker.
âHey, is everything alright? Youâre normally back by now,â Chan answered after a few rings.Â
âNo, actually, a detective called Y/N about her case. That guyâs been stalking her for months, Chan. Her apartment isnât safe.â You bit your lip, tears still streaming silently down your face. Seungmin guided your head to rest on his shoulder and exhaustion washed over you.
âHoly shit, are you serious?â You could hear the others shouting in the background. âGuys, please, I need you to be quiet. This is important.â
âI wish I was joking. The detective said she should stay somewhere else while they continue their investigation. Thing is, she doesnât have any family close by.â He was baiting Chan and he only felt slightly guilty about it.
âShe can stay with us,â the leader offered without hesitation.Â
âThatâs what I told her. You believe me now?â Seungmin directed the question at you.Â
âWait, am I on speaker? Y/N, I promise no one would have an issue with you staying here,â Chan confirmed. You hated that you were being such a burden to them. They have enough on their plate as-is. But you didnât have much of a choice.
âOkay,â you whimpered in a voice so tiny, it squeezed at the hearts of both Chan and Seungmin.
âWeâre gonna get some stuff packed for her, then head over. Iâll call for a car.âÂ
âGood, Iâll see you both soon.â Chan hummed in acknowledgement. âAnd Y/N? I know what youâre thinking. You are not a burden.â You inhaled sharply, digging yourself further into Seungminâs neck. He ended the call after another hasty goodbye.
For the next few minutes, you sat in silence to stave off your impending panic attack. Seungmin's chest vibrated as he quietly hummed the melody to Stars and Raindrops. You repeated the grounding exercise that Jisung showed you several times in your head. Now, with your panic dampened down to a nagging anxiety, you were suddenly very aware of the position of Seungminâs hands. With the thumb of his left hand, he rubbed soothing circles on the nape of your neck, and his right sat patiently on your thigh.Â
âIâll grab a suitcase,â you muttered, hoping your hair hid your reddened face as you moved to your room. Unfortunately for you, Seungmin was a very observant man. He smirked, but chose not to say anything. He offered to help you pack and you immediately refused. Your soul would have literally left your body if he accidentally caught a glimpse of your underwear. You rolled your suitcase and duffle bag into the living room once you finished, pausing to sling your bag across your shoulder.
âI called Dohyun, he should be here soon.â Seungmin stood and plucked your duffle bag from your hand. âLetâs get down to the garage.â The car pulled up right as you stepped out of the elevator. Dohyun tossed you a sympathetic smile after you slid into the backseat. Seungmin sat next to you and nodded to Dohyun, who promptly began the drive back to the dorm.
All of the Stray Kids members have seen your apartment, but this was the first time youâve been to their dorm. Honestly? It was much cleaner than you anticipated, considering eight young men lived here. Actually, the furniture and decor were really stylish. Jisung and Chan were the only ones in the living room. The leader stood to help with your luggage but paused when he noticed your red, puffy eyes.Â
âIâm so sorry this is happening to you.â Chan wrapped you in a firm, comforting hug. You gripped the back of his t-shirt to ground yourself and fight back a fresh onslaught of tears. âIs there anything you need right now?â
âI just really want to take a nap.â You reluctantly pulled back so he could guide you to the couch. You allowed Jisung to bring your head to lay on his lap. He carded his fingers through your hair and the tension slowly melted from your body. You vaguely felt a second pair of hands tuck a fluffy blanket around you before succumbing to sleep.

Spencer ordering breakfast in and serving breakfast in bed on readers first day of spring break!!! He knows reader has been working so hard and it being hard on the bth people while heâs gone on longer cases :,) reader would def send a pic to Penelope and sheâd show the others đ€
breakfast in bed | S.R.
your boyfriend surprises you with breakfast in bed to celebrate spring break
who? spencer reid x fem!reader category: fluff content warnings: fluff! fun fluffy fluff!!!!!! word count: 1.2k a/n: thank you for requesting!! it's my first day of spring break, so i figured today would be the perfect day to post this!!
At the click of the front door, your eyes fluttered open. The bright light seeping through the blinds of your bedroom led you to start squinting as you felt around the other side of the bed for your boyfriend, disappointment filling your chest when you realized he wasnât there.
Rolling on your back, you sighed and let gravity press you into the mattress, letting yourself enjoy the comfort of your covers before sitting up and reaching over to your nightstand. You used your water carafe to pour yourself a glass of water, sipping it while you allowed your mind and body to wake up.
A rustling in the kitchen got your attention, and it wasnât long until the door to your bedroom swung open, showing your boyfriend on the other side of the opening. âGood morning,â his voice chimed at you, âI thought you were still asleep.â
You shook your head softly, setting your water glass back on the nightstand, âJust woke up. Whatâs going on?â Quickly, you analyzed the sight in front of you. Spencer was dressed casually, definitely not his usual work garb â strange for a Monday morning.
He padded over to you and presented you with a tray, he extended the legs of the tray and placed it over your lap. âItâs spring break,â Spencer said matter-of-factly, pushing his glasses up on his nose.
Furrowing your brows in confusion, you looked at him. âYes,â you said warily, âitâs my spring break.â Spencer hadnât had a spring break since he finished his bachelorâs in philosophy, and even then, he had been working for the bureau.
âI wanted to make it special,â he told you, disappearing back into the kitchen before returning with a drink carrier and an unlabeled white bag.
Your lips parted in surprise, âYou went to Moeâs?â
He nodded enthusiastically. âItâs your favorite,â he explained simply, setting the drink carrier on your nightstand before distributing your coffee and juice to your tray.
You reached for the coffee first, swirling it slightly in the cup before responding, âItâs all the way across town.â That was part of the reason you rarely went, the last thing you wanted to do at first light was commute through the district.
Spencer hummed in response, leaning over to press a gentle kiss to your hairline, âYouâre worth it.â He set the white bag on your tray before climbing up on the bed with you, sharing the tray. âYou look pretty,â he observed, slightly out of left field.
Setting your coffee down, you cleared your throat, âI just woke up, Spence.â Gently, you reached for the white bag, opened the crinkly paper, and let the smell fill your senses.
âThe time that youâve been awake doesnât alter how beautiful you are,â he informed you, watching as you filtered through the food in the bag. You grabbed your phone off of the charger and snapped a picture of your breakfast in bed, quickly sending it to Penelope before typing out a message about being spoiled.
Putting your phone away, you grinned, âMaybe youâre biased by the fact that I wore your shirt to sleep in.â
He beamed at you and nodded almost imperceptibly, âThereâs also that.â
As the two of you ate, you checked the time as it got suspiciously late in the morning. Crumpling your napkin in your hand, you looked up at Spencer, âWhen do you have to go in?â
You knew that sometimes, after particularly rough cases, Agent Hotchner would tell the team they didnât need to come in until a little later in the morning, but it was pushing ten in the morning now and you were curious. Spencer perked up a little at your question, âI have to be there at ten tomorrow for the debrief, but Iâm yours until then.â
âYou took the day off of work?â Silently, you tried to remember the last time Spencer had taken a day off by choice, but nothing came to mind.
He nodded eagerly, âI wanted to spend time with you, while you donât have work or school.â He reached over and tucked a strand of hair behind your ear before getting up and taking care of the mess.
When you werenât at home or in school, you worked as a teaching assistant, so since classes werenât in session, work wasnât in session. âYou didnât have to do that,â you murmured, grabbing your coffee off of the tray before he could clear it.
Spencer smiled softly at you, leaning over, and pressing a chaste kiss to your cheek, âI missed you. We kept missing each other, I had to do something.â He slipped away to the kitchen, âI planned the whole day for us.â
A grin bloomed on your face, âYou did?â You laughed lightly, âWhat are we doing today?â
Upon his return, Spencer paused in the opening, leaning on the painted wood of the doorframe. âWe are going to go see the cherry blossoms, did you know Iâve never seen them?â
You cocked your head curiously, âYouâve lived in DC for eight years and youâve never seen the cherry blossoms?â Really, you were surprised that you didnât know that about him.
âAngel, I had to take the day off just to see you,â he reminded you, walking back to where you were perched on the bed. Tenderly, he cupped your cheeks in his hands, âDid you sleep alright? You looked tired last night.â
Nodding emphatically, you peered up at him, âYeah, sleeping in felt nice.â
Spencer furrowed his eyebrows, âYouâve been working so hard lately, I want to make sure youâre remembering to take care of yourself. Especially since Iâm not always here with you.â
You had to work hard, especially if you wanted to graduate early like you planned. âYouâve been gone a lot,â you concurred, âsaving lives is a busy job.â
Carefully, Spencer sat down next to you on the bed, pushing the mattress down slightly under the weight of him. âI know itâs hard on you when Iâm gone,â he whispered.
âI know itâs hard on you when youâre gone,â you echoed sympathetically. He had just been gone for two weeks, and when he came back, he didnât have the energy to do anything other than rest his head on your shoulder while you worked on a term paper. When you finished for the night, he had fallen asleep like that. You didnât have the heart to wake him up, so you both slept on the couch.
He hummed, dropping his hands to your waist, âI love you.â
Leaning up, you pressed a soft kiss to his lips, âI love you too, Spence.â You studied his golden irises, âSo⊠cherry blossoms will take a few hours at most, what do you have planned for afterward?â
A sly grin spread on your boyfriendâs face, âItâs a secret. Youâll find out later.â
Confused, you watched as he turned around to the bathroom. Shaking your head, you reached for your phone to see that Penelope had responded.
Penny G: EEK Penny G: Morgan wants you to tell Spencer he was not aware of his game.
Rolling your eyes, you dropped your phone on the mattress and went to join your boyfriend in the shower.

youtuber/streamer mc âïž
like imagine youâre in the middle of a stream and your entire audience just watches you get sucked into a portal.
and everyone is just freaking out in the chat like:
MCs_Husbando: POOKIE????
demonrizzer6669: WHAT HAPPEND TO MCâŠ
MCbiggestfan: DID THEY JUST GET KIDNAPPED??? đ°đ°
and then you fall flat on your ass infront of a bunch of men who you donât know.
âchat you seeing this right now??? lawd have mercy.â
diavolo you now know explains how you are an exchange student for one year and will be staying with lucifer and his brothers.
you ask him to grab some stuff from the human world and he (surprisingly) allows you to.
barbatos takes you to your house through a portal and you get a box and put the following in:
mic, pc, pc box thingy (canât remember what itâs called), mouse (and or pet mouse), phone, phone charger, some food to last you about a month, and your beloved cutie patootie alpha sigma [insert favorite anime character thatâs not obey me related] body pillow.
barbatos takes you back to the HOL and itâs dinner time. but you are NOT eating whatever they are eating. for all you know it could be HUMAN REMAINS.
so you eat what you brought. [insert whatever food youâre eating] was an EASY choice over human remains. you were enjoying your food when you suddenly remember-
you were kidnapped ON STREAM.
you set up your pc and start a different stream, your audience quickly filing in. you explain to them, leaving out the part about you being kidnapped and sent to hell, that you were picked as an exchange studen
then you tell them that youâll be going to school, so as an apology gift for sadly in the near future not posting as much, you promise to post an extra long video.
chat gets really happy at that and says goodbye as you end the stream.
before starting on that extra long video you promised you decide to be a jokester and post on twitter/X.
âif you saw me get sucked into a portal while screaming on stream, no you didnât. đ.â
you hit post and then coincidentally you hear a ding notification from the other room followed by laughing.
for a split second you think that whoever is in the other room may be a viewer of yours, but you immediately shake that off and get to working on the video.
you decide to make the video a mashup of random things you usually do. read fanfics of yourself, troll kids on roblox with admin, do commentary, say your opinion on current dramas. stuff like that.
you get the different games and videos ready and hit record.
fast forward forty minutes later and youâre finally done recording as you say your goodbyes to everyone.
you were gonna post it right then and there but it was super late and now you have to go to school, which means waking up early.
you decide to post it tomorrow and just go to sleep.
another fast forward and itâs the morning you get up somehow earlier than everyone else and decide to make yourself breakfast.
you packed pancake mix, blueberries, bananas, and strawberries so you just make that.
as youâre cooking the pancakes you hear rustling behind you, you turn around to see a ginger man eating your strawberries!
now, normally youâd be mad, but this man, aughsjsjsjvdjsjs, he just gave you the puppy eyes.
âdo you want some pancakes?â
he nods vigorously and you whip up some more pancakes, some for you and some for him.
you decide to make him a smiley face with banana slices as the eyes, some blueberries as the smile, and a strawberry as the nose. with some more fruit on the side of course.
he looks at the pancakes with pure hunger and digs in right away. you just smile, for once not fucking up your food, and at the way he smiles.
this man is adorable, but he also looks like he break every bone in your body within a millisecond.
a few minutes later everyone else comes to eat breakfast. you notice a violet haired man staring very intently at you, which is weirdâŠ
you already ate, but you decided to make the ginger, who you now know as beelzebub, some more pancakes since he asked so very nicely.
once your done you decide to go in your room to chill before you have to leave.
âoh I almost forgot!â
you quickly take out your phone and post the video, naming it âguys please donât be mad đâ and explaining your situation in the description.
once again, as soon as you hit post, you hear the ding notification from the night prior.
you turn around to see that same violet haired man pulling out his phone to show YOUR video. heâs subscribed and even is a channel member.
thatâs some dedication since youâre a smaller youtuber, not as big as people like penguinz0 or Flamingo. your not big, but still known.
he turns around to look at you and is instantly embarrassed.
streamer mc and dedicated fan leviathan â€ïžâ€ïž
this could be seen as a part of the you know them series but like THEY know you and you have never met.

The BĂ«ast Within
author note: Part 5! Ok this is the last part till I'm back in November. Will be gone from October 21st till November 18th. I'm getting married and then going on my honeymoon. So enjoy! I'll be working on other parts while I'm away. :) you can find the rest of the series here.
summary: Omegas are rare, in a world full of Alphas and Betas. Being a Omega was not only dangerous but they were highly sought after. After living your life has a Beta in disguise, you meet a scary Alpha, but not any normal alpha. But a gaint Apex Alpha who won't stop at anything to make you his.
tags: Alternative Universe, female reader. Slight smut. Reader edges König into an apology. Slightly submissive König (but don't tell him that.) A/b/o dynamics. Alpha König is big and scary but not to reader. not proof read
König showed his love through acts of kindness and gifts. He felt bad for smashing your phone, and also as you put it "ruined your life". But he knows your just being dramatic, he spent two full days sleeping in one of the spare bedrooms. You didn't leave the master bedroom, only opening the door after König pleaded with you to eat something.
That's why he's currently inside a jewelry store, trying to pick out a gift that says I'm very sorry but I also don't regret doing what I did. The sales person becoming annoyed cause he can not make up his mind so decided to buy all 3, a matching set.
The second day barricaded in the room, you spent most of the time crying in your nest and enjoying the deep soaker tub. König brought you lunch, and also your new phone.
Discarding the food on the dresser you laid in the nest, setting up your phone. Waiting for the thousands of notifications to pop up.
You immediately called Kalina, you missed her voice and knew she's probably in a panic. The phone only rang once before it was picked up. "Please tell me you're alive." you heard her panicked voice on the other line.
"I'm alive." you replied back. "What the fuck is going on?" she all but screamed your name. "It's a complicated story." you tried to explain but she cut you off. "Are you safe, do you need me to call the police? Maybe the military? Who do I need to kill." she was rambling so fast you could barely make out what she was saying.
"Kalina! Hey Kalina! Calm down will you. I'm fine. I'm alright. I don't need any of that." you were finally able to but in. "I went to your apartment and you were gone, like all of it." she explained. Remembering König's actions, rubbing your eyes and pinching the bridge of your nose. "Ugh I know." you didn't know where to start. "It's been a week! A week of no call, no show, no nothing. And Mr. Wojack said you quit? What the hell is going on?" her voice getting higher and higher with each word.
"If you'd shut up I'll explain. It started that night at the club." you started. "We should have never gone." Kalina but in. "Kalina! Please!" you pleaded with her to shut up. "Sorry, sorry!" shaking your head. "Their was a guy there, an Alpha. I guess he sniffed me out, idk how the hell he knew but he followed me home. I woke up to him in my room, and..... and he marked me. That night, and I've been at his place ever since. He helped me through my heat....I think we are mated now." you explained.
The other end was finally quiet, thinking the call dropped until you heard Kalina'a deep sigh." I knew, I knew he would try. I just hoped I got you out of there fast enough." she said, you were confused? She knew? "What do you mean you knew?" you asked. "Don't you remember me pulling you out of the club? Throwing you in that cab?" she asked. It took you a while to thinking back in it, and then I made sense.
She saw him too, just like you did. "You saw him?" you whispered. "It was hard not to." her voice trailing off. You heard a knock on the door, probably König again. "Kalina I gotta go. I call you back later." you told her. Hanging up before she could protest. Leaving your phone on the charger near the bed.
Walking to the door you could see König's shadow underneath. Another knock came "Omega, please let me see you." he pleaded through the wood. If he really wanted to he could break it down, and he was tempted. Since getting a taste of your omega pussy it's all his dick and brain could think about.
"Why should I? So you can lie to me again." you were being a brat but you deserved it. In less than a week you had your home, job and life taken from you. But you also knew your situation could be much worse.
König sighed, he was going to lose his mind if you kept up this act. He had every right mind to knock this door down and make you forgive him. Even when he didn't believe he needed to be forgiven. In the law he had every right to do what he did. Once an omega is claimed she loses all her freedoms and rights. As she now belongs to her Alpha who is responsible in taking care of her. And if he's unfit of that, then the courts step in and interviene. But you were an undocumented Omega and he was a dead excommunicated Alpha.
Slamming his fist against the thick wood, he rolled his neck to try and relieve the tension that's been bothering him. "Please my love, I got you something." in König's other hand held the name brand bag of the jeweler he visited.
Unbeknownst to him, you had been scheming. Spending your time locked in this room, snooping around. Taking out his military uniform and laying it out on the bed. Also finding a few medals that where also stashed away in the closet.
"I'll let you in if you answer some of my questions." Königs ears perked up, what was this? A terrorist negotiation? But the thought of being in your presence, he didn't care. "Whatever you want Omega." his words making you laugh, of course you'll give me what I want, you thought.
König heard the door click, you unlocking the bolt that secured it close. Opening it a bit before stepping away to sit on the bed next to your findings.
König wasted no time in barging right in, about to open his mouth but closing it immediately when he saw his uniform next to you. "What is this?"he asked. His voice getting deep and low, his instincts heightening. He wasn't an animal you wanted to corner and confront but that's exactly what you did.
"That's my question. And I don't want to hear anything from you that isn't a one word answer or anything that's not the truth. You understand?" you fingers ran along the delicate stitching, tracing it slowly. König didn't like any of this.
"If you aren't going to answer me, you can just leave. And take that with you." you pointed to the bag he was holding. He sighed, setting the bag down on the dresser. Leaning against it, he was feared far and wide. The stories men told about him, yet here you are. Standing up to him, and not backing down. The Beast was proud, laughing loudly in König's head. Mocking him for not being able to control you. But that's not what he wanted, he didn't want to control you he just wanted to make you happy. And right now you were not and it was his fault.
Slowly you were wearing him down, his dick hard and throbbing in his pants. Begging and pleading with him to do whatever you wanted just so it can feel you wrapped around it again.
"I served in the Austrian Special Forces, but things came up and now I'm here." hoping his answer sated you. He crossed his arms staring at you, dragging his eyes up and down your body. "Why did you leave?" you asked. Curious about the Alpha in front of you, his aura was dark and mysterious. "It no longer served a purpose in my life. I... uh I do different work now. Similar but different. That's all you need to know." König was trying his best to answer you but to also keep you safe from his world.
You sighed "König you said you'd tell me anything I wanted." you eyed the giant Alpha in front of you. The sight of him alone making you want to heel over and crawl to him. But it was just your horny omega brain. "I am Omega, there's things you wouldn't understand. I'll do anything to keep you safe." König was growing more frustrated. Pushing himself off of the dresser and making his way to you. Getting down on his knees and placing his head in your lap.
"I'm trying to keep you safe and protected. Don't you understand." he looked up into your eyes. His eyes pleading with you, his bottom lip sticking out. "Than say your sorry." you told him. Lightly brushing your hand through his hair. You slightly started to part you thighs, revealing a silky pair of panties under the dress you were wearing.
Königs ears began to ring, his mouth becoming wet with anticipation. If he was a youngling he'd might even start foaming. The smell of your wet Omega pussy hit his nose, a low growl starting deep in his belly. He tried to push your dress up more but was received with a smack. Knocking his prying hands away, he hated when you did that.
Nobody he knew would dare raise a finger at him and since knowing you, that seemed like your favourite thing to do.
"No." you scolded him like a juvenile pup. "Not until you say you are sorry." he heard your words but his mind and eyes couldn't leave the sight of your pussy. The fabric of the silky panties hugged you lips, a small wet spot slowly forming. König knew from that moment on you were going to be the death of him.
Only if one of his men could see him, if one of the many people he's snuffed out could look upon him from hell. To see this feared Alpha on his knees, drooling at the sight of sweet omega pussy. They would laugh, they would mock him. Just like The Beast was doing now, his laughter louder than anything.
König licked his lips and closed his eyes. Taking a moment to clear his mind, too shut up The Beast and to try and not cum in his pants.
"Omega, I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry. I'll never do anything and I mean anything without your approval." he was a starved man, if you told him to walk into fire he would. "Omega I promise to serve and worship you till the end of mine time." he didn't know what else he could say.
You smiled, your eyes turning bright at the words your Alpha was saying. Your heart skipped a beat and your pussy gushed with more fluid. Pushing up your dress a little and tilting your pelvis till it was in König's face.
"I forgive you." you said. You hands tangling themselves in his hair once again. König mouth attached its self to your clothed pussy. Sucking on the wet spot, trying to ripping through the material with his teeth.
Trying once again to touch you with his hands but only stopped when you smacked them again. He really hated that. "No, just your mouth. And be a good boy and I'll let you fuck me." you told him. Spreading you legs open even more, resting you left leg over his shoulder.
Yes, you were going to kill him. But he didn't care, as long as he died by your pussy he didn't care at all.

"I'm sick of all this, Natalie," Y/N declared, throwing her phone on the sofa. Her roommate diverted her gaze from the TV to her. "It's the fourth guy that ghosted me after I ask him out."
"Become a lesbian," said Natalie, turning her attention back to the movie.
Y/N let out a sigh. "I should. I'm tired of all men being assholes and manipulators."
She grimaced, thinking that maybe the problem wasn't men but her. She had studied Art History and had been the best in her class. Now, at 28, she was sharing an apartment and teaching preteens who called her 'ma'am.' Was she wasting her life?
"I need a change," she said to herself.
"The smell goes away with a shower, don't worry." Natalie looked at her, wrinkling her nose.
"No, damn it. A change in my routine," she explained. Nevertheless, she took a sniff at her armpit, regretting it. She'd shower later. "I need to get out of here."
She stood up, grabbed her phone, and headed to her room.
"Hey? And where are you going, if I may ask?" said Natalie, following her.
"Anywhere!" Y/N shrugged. She drank a glass of water and took out a couple of pieces of clothing. "I need to change the scenery as soon as possible, I'm stuck."
She pulled a small suitcase from her closet while her roommate rolled her eyes.
"Y/N, you can't just leave suddenly. Don't you have classes tomorrow?"
Y/N paused for a moment and then shrugged again. "I'll ask for the day off. The week, actually."
"The week!" exclaimed Natalie. Y/N was already looking at flights on her phone when Natalie covered her screen. "Y/N, you don't have the financial or mental stability for this!"
Y/N swatted Natalie's hand away to see her phone screen.
"Madrid is very cheap this time of year," she said, with a small smile.
"But you don't even speak Spanish!"
Y/N boarded a plane to Madrid with the idea of not talking to any men that week. This trip was for her, to reconnect with herself, the Y/N she had lost over the years.
She still didn't have a place to stay, but she would resolve that on the go. The journey from the airport to central Madrid was tedious; she didn't know how the metro worked and people ignored her like she was nothing. Frustrated, she sat in a café. She looked up things to do in Madrid on her phone, but soon the battery died, and she was sure she had forgotten her charger at the apartment.
She let out a long sigh and ran her hands over her face. As she opened her eyes, she heard a voice.
"Y/N?"
She looked up immediately, surprised that someone knew who she was in Madrid. When she met the gaze of the individual, she recognized him instantly.
"Carlos?"
She stood up immediately, greeting him. Was he a man? Yes but Carlos and she had gone to university together; they had been friends for several years. Probably best friends, though they never talked about it. He hadn't changed much; he looked older but in a positive way, with a more flattering haircut and surprisingly stronger.
"What are you doing here?" Carlos asked, leaning in for a short hug.
"On vacation," Y/N nodded. Running into him had instantly lifted her spirits.
"Damn, I haven't seen you in⊠six years?" Carlos tilted his head a bit.
"Since graduation, right?"
They both nodded; it had been quite a while. Long enough to realize they had lost contact too soon.
"I didn't expect to see you in Madrid," commented Carlos, with a smile.
"It was a last-minute decision," explained Y/N, wrinkling her nose a bit. She formed a smile. "I'm glad to see you, really. Do you want to sit for a bit?" she suggested, pointing to the empty chair.
"I'd love to," Carlos accepted the invitation immediately, sitting down.
A waiter approached, and Carlos ordered a coffee to accompany Y/N's.
"Well, tell me, what have you been up to all these years?" Carlos asked, crossing one leg.
Y/N told him a bit of everything, very sweetened. That she was teaching Geography and History at a public school, that her family was fine, and they reminisced about the time Carlos practically crashed her Christmas party because Carlos Sainz Senior was mad at him for his grades and that she was happy living in her city.
Carlos told her that he now worked at his father's company as an executive.
"Oh, I thought youâd be doing something related to what we studied," Y/N pressed her lips a bit, somewhat disappointed that Carlos hadn't continued doing what they both loved.
"I would have loved to⊠but there were very few job opportunities. And I didn't want to be a teacher, so I played it safe," admitted Carlos, shrugging a bit. For a moment, he thought Y/N would judge him for it, but her sweet and calm expression told him otherwise.
"Understandable not wanting to be a teacher," agreed Y/N, before sipping her coffee.
"Is it tough?" Carlos mimicked her, lifting his cup too.
Y/N shook her head a bit. "I'm sure there are worse things. But having a twelve-year-old try to cut your hair because his dad is bald is rather curious."
Carlos almost choked on his coffee from the sudden laughter. "Really?" He tried to stifle the laughter as best as he could, but Y/N was already glaring at him.
"No, no. It's not funny, it happens every damn day," she nodded vigorously. Carlos let out a laugh that ended up being contagious for Y/N too.
The conversation continued for the rest of the afternoon. It was like going back to university for a few hours, a time she missed a lot. When they decided to get up from the table, they had finished four coffees and at least one glass of wine. It was even starting to get cold outside.
"Shall I walk you to your hotel?" Carlos asked with a smirk.
Y/N grimaced, remembering she still hadn't sorted that out. She bit the inside of her cheek, embarrassed. "I haven't booked a hotel room yet."
"Oh," he pursed his lips and quickly said, "You can stay at my place, I have a spare room."
Y/N, hearing him speak, was already shaking her head. "No, no, no. I don't want to bother you."
Carlos clicked his tongue, looking away for a moment.
"How are you going to bother me? Come on, bring your suitcase. My car is parked nearby."
Y/N was intrigued by Carlos's initiative but kept shaking her head.
"Really, it's not necessary, Carlos," Y/N extended her arms a bit for Carlos to return her suitcase, but he even moved it away from her hands. "I'll manage."
She said that last part to ease him a bit, but it only sounded like she needed more help.
"Y/N, I'm not going to leave you out on the street," Carlos put his hands on his hips and she let out a sigh. "That's not very gentlemanly of me."
"You were never a gentleman, you idiot," noted Y/N. Carlos smiled, knowing that if Y/N started to insult you, she was about to agree with you. "Alright, but just for one night. Then I'll find a hotel."
"Whatever you say, cariño," Carlos smiled triumphantly, and Y/N tried to hide her smile while he put her suitcase in the trunk.
His apartment was huge, truly huge. A dream kitchen, a large living room, and definitely more than one spare room. As they entered, a beautiful brown and white dog greeted them, heading straight for Carlos's legs.
"And who is this?" said Y/N, petting his head a bit, enough for the animal to focus all its attention on her. He sniffed Y/N's shoes and licked the hems of her pants.
"His name is Piñón," said Carlos with a smile, surprised that Piñón hadn't started barking because of a stranger's presence. "I adopted him almost after we graduated."
Y/N crouched, petting Piñón's neck and behind his ears. "Hi, Piñón. You're so pretty."
"I'll show you the room," Carlos said.
Y/N got up, giving Piñon one last pet. "Thank you, really. I feel like an abandoned cat, but thank you."
They both chuckled softly.
"It's nothing," Carlos said as they went to the room.
Y/N left her suitcase in a corner and turned to Carlos. "Do you have a charger?"
She felt like she was taking advantage of him too much, even if it was just for a charger, she felt bad.
"Of course, here," Carlos handed her the charger, their hands touched for a millisecond. She tried so hard not to feel anything. He kept a flirty smile. "Are you hungry?"
"Well, yes," Y/N nodded. "But give me a few minutes and I'll help you cook."
Y/N took a couple of things out of her suitcase and went back to the kitchen to help Carlos. They quickly cooked some pasta with burrata. Y/N noticed how Carlos would get close to her or brush his hands against hers casually.
While cutting some tomatoes, the knife slipped from Carlosâs hand. "Shit!" Carlos looked at the cut and put his finger in his mouth, letting out several whimpers.
"Did you cut yourself?" Y/N went over to him, Carlos took his finger out of his mouth, showing her a small cut. Y/N pursed her lips, remembering how dramatic he could be. "It's nothing, Carlos. It's barely bleeding."
Y/N cradled his hand, gently caressing his fingers almost unconsciously. The room went silent, Carlos looked into her eyes, he adored that look. Y/N lifted her eyes, connecting them with Carlosâs. He leaned toward her, listening to her breathing and matching his to it.
"Can I kiss you?"
The question hung in the air. Y/N held her breath. This was the opposite of what she wanted. She blinked and slightly opened her mouth. To Carlos, it felt like an eternity.
"I'm sorry," Y/N said in a faint voice. She looked at him with pity and Carlos stepped back, feeling more embarrassed than ever. "It's just⊠it's not the right time. I'm in a bit of a strange phase and things aren't going well for me, I don't want to mess things up for you." Y/N fidgeted with her rings as she said it.
"I understand," Carlos said, nodding slowly. "I shouldn't have asked you that, it was out of place."
"No, I should have told you before," she contradicted, with a grimace.
"Don't worry," he said. "It's just thatâŠ," Carlos hesitated a bit. "In college I had a huge crush on you and seeing you again brought everything back."
Y/N blinked, absorbing those words. She had always wondered why Carlos barely dated any girls during their time in college, it never crossed her mind it could be because of her.
"You had a crush on me?"
"You didn't know?"
"NoâŠ"
"Damn, we spent so much time together,"
"Because we were friends! That's what friends do!"
They both laughed and Carlos leaned against the counter, crossing his arms.
"So, you're not having a good time?" he inquired, with a calm look.
Y/N lowered her gaze. "I'm trying to sort out my life."
"I understand," he bit the inside of his cheek. "Anyway, if once you sort out your life you feel like going on a date, I haven't changed my number."
That felt so good in Y/N's chest, as if her heart expanded a little. She laughed like a fool, taking a few steps back.
"I'm going to go to sleep,"
"You're not having dinner with me?" Carlos extended his arms, with a sad look.
"Maybe tomorrow," Y/N turned around and smiled over her shoulder before disappearing down the hallway.

Tiktok Trouble- Jake Seresin
Authors Note: Let me know if you like this, might do moreÂ
Warning: Allusions to smexy timesÂ
Word count:1519
Description: You learn you like pranking your husband....tiktok likes it too.Â
Enjoy!
It starts off with you being pissed at your husband, Jake.Â
To be fair it wasnât his fault. You both had planned a date night but he had been caught up helping fix a jet at work, so he called you and told you he would be missing the night. So although you were angry, you werenât super angry.Â
But you were just a little upset and took to watching tiktok instead of the date, and that is where you came up with the ideaâŠâŠthe perfect prank. You made dinner, making sure to set out a plate for him when he texted you he was heading home, moving to jump into the shower once you heard his car in the driveway.Â
You knew he would be upset but you had to set it all up, so you started the water and soon enough you heard him calling for you. When he got no response from downstairs he came up and opened your bedroom door. âSugar?â
âJust in the shower!â You call.Â
âRight now? Did you eat already?â He asks, trying to open the door. âIs it locked?â
âI ate! I just wanna shower.â You laugh and hear him give a dramatic sigh before making a kiss sound and disappearing. You finish your shower and rush to dress, waiting for him to come in and get ready for bed.Â
You wait until Jake is ready for bed, just down to his boxers as usual, crawling in and then you move to the dresser.Â
âWhat you doing ,sugar?â He calls, not looking as he tries to find his phone charger while you set up your phone to record. Once you are sure he wonât notice you give the camera a small thumbs up before heading over to the bed and grabbing your pillow. âSugar?â
Jake watches, eyebrows pinched together as you fluff it before grabbing a blanket, he sits up quickly when you go to leave. âY/n, whatâs goinâ on here?â
âI just kinda want to sleep on the couch.â You shrug, giving him a small smile.Â
â....Okay?â He looks confused but gets up as well, snatching his pillow and moving to you. âWe can have a little movie night-â
âNo no, I just kinda want to sleep by myself.â You laugh, kissing his cheek, a small amount of guilt filling you when he looks like a kicked puppy.Â
âButâŠbutâŠâ He looks to the bed, then back to you, then back to the bedâŠ..then back to you. âI promise Iâll be quiet. You wonât even know Iâm there!â
âBubs, I just wanna spend the night by myself-â You donât get to finish the sentence before he is snatching the blanket and pillow and storming past you. âWhere are you going?!â
âTo set up downstairs. I never sleep without you-â You break then, laughing your butt off which makes him gasp.Â
âIâm so confused right now.â
âBubs, it was a tiktok idea.â You explain, pointing to the camera and moving to shut it off as he gasps dramatically.Â
âYou were pranking me?!â
âDuh.â You giggle, turning to look at him and his eyes squint as a smug smile covers his features.Â
âY/n? Sugar? Bubs? Light of my life?âÂ
âYeahâŠâŠâ
âIâm going to ruin you.â You barely get a second to squeal and rush across the bed before he can catch you, the game of chase underway.
â----------------
You had posted the video, and it got popular fast.Â
Which wasnât a shocker considering you already knew how handsome your husband was and everyone else was more than willing to say the same. Him only being in boxers definitely helped. But everyone began sending in ideas and you just couldnât help yourself.Â
The next prank came a week later.Â
You had set up your phone to film at the window in front of the sink, pretending to do the dishes as soon as you heard the front door.Â
âSugar?! I am homeEeeEE.âÂ
âDoing dishes - OW OW OW!â You act hurt, pretending your hand is stuck in a travel bottle as he rushes in, dropping his keys and glasses on the way.
âWhatâs wrong? Where does it hurt?â He panics, rushing in to check you. You show him the bottle, doing your best to look like you are in pain.Â
âShit- under the water, put it under the water.â He rushes out, moving you to the sink and turning on the water to try and get your hand out. âJust relax, relax relax relax.â
âLetâs try soap-â You offer, taking your hand out of the cup to grab some soap and shove it back in. He nods, reaching over you to grab the bottle and add more, kissing your forehead in a soothing manner before his eyebrows shoot up and he steps back.Â
âWait-â You die laughing then, taking your hand out of the cup as he rolls his eyes. âOh come on! Low blow even for you.â
Heâs laughing too, and you canât breathe at this point. âThatâŠ.that wasâŠ..so funny-â You collapse to your knees cackling as he finds the camera and leans forward to look into it.Â
âI regret getting married.â He laughs, turning off the water before flicking your forehead and walking to go pick up the things he had dropped to get to you. âI want a divorce!â
The clip ends with you just cackling.Â
â------------------
Your weekly date night had come up, and you felt like being a really cute wifeâŠ..partly.Â
He was sitting on your shared bed watching some youtube videos on fixing sinks (yours wasnât broken so you honestly had no clue why) and he had left you alone in the bathroom to do your makeup, perfectly content to just be near you.Â
You shut the door, murmuring that you were going to the bathroom which he hummed to and once the door was shut you began recording yourself. Doing your best not to laugh as you took a lip liner and overlined your lipsâŠ.. Like a lot.Â
You had to take a second to reign in your giggles before you were heading out to where he was laying on the bed, shuffling until you were kneeling in between his legs, they came up to wrap around you instantly as he kept watching his video.Â
âBubs.â You smile, waiting. He hums in acknowledgement, one eyebrow raising as he listens but doesnât look. âBubs-â
âYeah sugarpi- holy crap.â His face turns to one of shock when he looks at you finally, eyebrows shooting up as one hand covers his mouth.Â
âI watched this makeup video while you were gone,â You smile, flipping your hair. âI think I like it.â
âYouâŠ.. o-okay.â He smiles, clearing his throat. âIt⊠wow.â
âWow? Like stunning wow?â You ask, doing a little pose.Â
âSure. Yeah. That.â He smiles, trying to be supportive. âHey, how about we stay in tonight?â
âReally?âÂ
âYeahâŠyeah for sure. I just- you just look so good I want to keep you to myself-â He smiles, leaning up to kiss your cheek. You laugh at that, allowing him to kiss you before he sits up and swipes at your lips. âLove the lip shadeâŠ.But sugar?â
âYeah bubs?â
âCan⊠can I be honest for a second?âÂ
âOf course?â
âYou look like a bee stung your lips.â You break at that, once again cackling and he looks very worried. âI donât wanna be the ass but-â
âIâll remove the lipstick. Just get ready to go you dork.â You laugh, kissing his lips and walking off.
â--------------------
âAlright, Iâm gonna head out. You need anything?â Jake asks, dressed in his errand clothes with his sunglasses on his head while he pulls the back of your neck to pull you in for a kiss.Â
You give in easily, moaning a little before pulling back. âOh bubs, your lips are chapped.â
âWhat?â He laughs, moving up to touch his lips and smack them.Â
âYes. Here.â You dig through your purse and pull out the chapstick that you had already replaced with lipstick. He smiles at you, kissing your forehead before generously applying it over his lips and smacking them.Â
Naval Aviator Jake SeresinâŠ..wearing bright red lipstick. âŠâŠ amazing.Â
He smiles at you, a big cheesy smile, and kisses you once more before strutting to the door. He does his little butt wiggle when he reaches the door that makes you laugh before he disappears through the door.Â
Once he is gone you turn and wink to the camera.Â
He gets back an hour later, you hear the front door slam and him call your name. You immediately turn your camera on, walking to the stairs and walking down them.Â
âYeah bu-â
âDo not bub me right now.â He sighs, pinching the bridge of his nose. âI ran into Maverick at the store.â
You crack out into laughter, covering your face as he glares.Â
âThatâs it. Pranking time is over. Your ass better be in those sheets naked by the time I get up there!â He snaps and you stand straight, heat traveling you. â3âŠ2âŠ.â You donât need to be told twice.
Comments:Â
âHonestly mom and dadâ
âCan you adopt me????â
âTell him to take his top off!â

A/N~ CHAPTER 7 SHIT IS GETTING REAL
Pt.1 pt.2 pt.3 pt.4 pt.5 pt.6
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Vanessa looked at Toto like he had just stabbed her. âThe fuck your mean the FIA is checking my car?â She said getting frustrated. âCalm down, they said that something might not match the measurements in your front wing.â Toto explained.
They sat there for almost an hour before they got answers. Vanessa got a penalty and moved back on the grid to p15, she was furious. Her team had checked the car multiple times.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was later at night Vanessa at the hotel laying in her bed scrolling on her phone. Lewis laying in his bed, but she couldnât deny the tension anymore.
âAre we going to pretend that what happened a few days ago didnât happen.â Vanessa asked out the blue. âListen kid, you needed someone and I helped you, what they said wasnât right, I helped you now letâs go back to normal.â He said and put his phone on his charger before turning his back to her. âGot it, youâre right, just wanted to help the hopeless kid who canât defend herself.â She whispered to herself and also plugged her phone in turning to her side.
Lewis just let out a sigh hearing her words but doesnât say anything. And like that they both go to sleep with tension still in the room.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Race day! Vanessa showed up to the paddock ready for this race, she had her confidence up and was ready to prove everyone wrong.
She did her pre race rituals and all that good stuff. Then she was in the car doing a formation lap. P15 she started, she was ready to dominate this race. The grid was now in their places after the formation lap. Vanessa watched the red lights turn on one by one, patiently waiting. As soon as the lights turned off she was off immediately gaining two lap.
Over the course of the first five laps she overtook to p9. Now behind lance, wasnât that hard to overtake. Now behind Checo, another easy overtake. P6 behind Carlos which was hard as she tried to overtake him.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was the 60th lap, 3 laps left of the race Vanessa was p2 behind max and was gaining speed in him. In her mind she knew she might just get podium again, but something else was saying she was gonna win. She was .978 seconds behind max, they crossed the line. 2 laps left, she pushed as hard as she could.
.865 seconds as she uses her DRS when she could and is now .372 seconds behind. They passed the finish line again. 1 lap left. Vanessa gave it her all to pass max. Between turn four and five she finally passed him.
âPush Vanessa push!â Calvin came on the radio. Vanessa pushed her car and built a 1.736 second gap between her and max for the rest of the race.
As she crossed that finish line Calvin came back on the radio. âVanessa you did it! You did it! God you did it! You won your first home race!â Vanessa couldnât hold the tears back. âI did it CalvinâŠI-i did it, for them this is for them, and to prove everyone who thought i couldnât do it, they can all fuck off!â Vanessa said through tears and sniffles. âOh okay now watch the language lady.â Calvin said with a laugh.
Vanessa pulled up to the P1 spot with max at p2 and Lando at p3. Vanessa couldnât get out her car quicker and stood at the front of her car and pointed at the sky. She then race to Mercedes who were waiting behind the barriers. She jumped over the barrier and they all hug and pat her back. All say something like âyou did it!â Or âcongratulations!â. It was like a dream come true to her.
As she was set down she took her helmet off and put the Mercedes cap on drinking her water. She could feel eyes on her, not from the team or other drivers, but him. She look in the direction and saw him standing with a soft smile and nodding at her.
She did her interview and was answering the questions she was asked. âI mean itâs like a dream come true, finally winning my home race. I mean i obviously wish they were here to see this but I know theyâre watching over with smiles. But I couldnât be happier, this will always be-â she was cut off by a tap on her shoulder, she looked and saw Ferrari team principal, Fred Vasseur, he was holding an Italian flag for her. She happily took it and gave him a hug before continuing her interview.
She took on the top step, listening as the Italian anthem played. She looked up in the sky with a smile closing her eyes, the Italian flag from earlier was wrapped around her like a cape.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It was late at night, partying with most of the grid and some of the Mercedes people. She had one drink, just a fruity drink as a treat for winning. It was midnight when the party had sorta died down, she had Daniel walk her back to the hotel to make sure she got back safe.
She walked into the hotel room and saw Lewis just on his phone. âHere you are, surprised you werenât at the party?â She said going in her suitcase. âDidnât feel like it.â He responded blankly. âNormally youâre a party type of guy?â She said but then she realized. âIs it because the party was basically for me?â She looked at him with a smirk. âNo.â He scoffed.
There was a tension in the room but they didnât know what. âYouâre really that stubborn to not go to a party thatâs about me?â She slightly teased him walking over to his bed. âNo I just wasnât in the mood alright?â He sat up and watched her walk closer to him.
They just stared at each other and Lewis stood in front of her. âYou feel the tension too?â He asked looking in her eyes. âYeah.â Was all she said and he smashed his lips on her holding her face in his hands. It was like a relief when he kissed her, she relaxed and kissed back. The kiss lasted for a moment before he pulled away. âYouâre not like drunk or tipsy right?â He asked wanting to make sure he wasnât taking advantage of her. âNo, no Iâm not, I donât drink.â She said and looked at him with honesty in her eyes.
He then kissed her again a little deeper this time, he then laid her on the bed and his hands moved down her body. He then pulled away again. âYou sure you want this?â He asked a little out of breath. Vanessa nods her head. âIâm sure Lewis, I canât deny the tension anymore.â She said softly and her hands moved to the hem of his shirt and pulled it up over his head and throws it to the side.
They fully undressed themselves, Lewis lays next to Vanessa but in his side. His hand traveling down and teases her by rubbing her thigh. Heâs kissing her neck, she then takes her hand thatâs trapped between their bodies and reaches down and starts to jerk him off. It makes him let out a breathy moan and he slips his fingers inside her.
He has two fingers inside her, rubbing her clit with his thumb. Her hand speeding up around his cock. âBeing such a good girl for me, always wanted to know what your had would feel like around me.â He said and sped his fingers up inside her making her moan a little louder. âLewis, feels so good, please!â She said feeling her stomach tighten signaling sheâs close. âCan feel you squeezing my fingers sweetheart, gonna cum for me?â He teased and rub his thumb faster over her clit.
She speeds her hand up on his cock. âWant you to cum with me.â Vanessa said between whines, he just smiles against her neck. âShit Lewis Iâm cumming!â She moans out, Lewis sits up more and smashes his lips on her to quiet her moans. As she finished her climax he slows his fingers down riding it out of her and he soon cums on his stomach and her hand. He pulls his fingers out and licks them clean before kissing her neck again. âDid such a good job for me.â
He then clean you both up, putting a pair of boxers on and helping you dress back up. Just as he went to lay in his bed you spoke up. âStay in my bed, please.â She said quietly as she was about to fall asleep.
Can you write fluff where Isaac takes care of his sick girlfriend? I got sick myself quite recently and would like to read something like this with my comfort character ~ đanon
Hope you like this, honestly i don't think he'd have much experience but he would definitely do his best to care for you. Just Isaac being the best boyfriend ever.
Isaac Lahey x gn!reader Word count: 840 Masterlist
You really donât have time for this. Everything has been going wrong once again, first, this weird deer runs into Allisonâs car, then the windows at school break because a bunch of crows thought it was a great idea to smash themselves against it. And now youâre stuck in bed, 3 blankets covering you, including a heated one. Next to you is a mountain of tissues because you canât be bothered to walk all the way over to the bin. And your bedside table stands full of half-empty medicine packaging.
You sneeze for what feels like the hundredth time that morning before groaning miserably. You can see your phone flashing once again from the corner of your eye but just like with most things today, you canât be bothered getting it. You close your eyes for a few seconds before the sound of your door slowly opening makes you open them again, albeit barely.
âDid you die?â You hear him before you really figure out that heâs standing in your room. âYes Isaac, Iâm dead, Iâve died a miserably, lonely death.â He nods before really taking in the view in front of him. He sighs before quickly walking over to your bin and dragging it towards your bed. Making an odd-looking face he starts throwing away the pile of tissues and lying next to you. âI was wondering why you werenât answering my texts, figured it had to be something close to dead for you to ignore meâ he explains while laughing.
You snort before taking the bin away from him and shooing him away. He does as you request, only to plug your phone into your charger. âAre you hungry?â You shrug before nodding half-heartedly, âI could eat.â Isaac nods back before leaving your room, making you close your eyes and rest while you wait for him to come back.
Fifteen minutes later your door opens again, Isaac is holding a bowl with what you assume is soup and in his other hand is a large bottle of water. He opens the door further by pushing it with his hip, before walking back towards you. âA meal made just for you by the incredible chef Lahey, youâre welcome.â He speaks with some sort of accent you canât quite place and a ridiculous look on his face, making you laugh.
âOh, thank you kind sir-â you interrupt yourself by laughing again when he makes an extravagant bow. He puts the stuff he got you on the bedside table that stands empty before jumping into your bed and laying his head down on your lap. âCaught a cold?â He asks while playing with one of the blankets covering you. âSome type of virus, againâ you explain rolling your eyes.
âWhatâs that- the third time? This month?â He says while laughing softly, but his hands move to hold yours softly. You nod in response, squeezing his hands before grabbing your bottle of water and taking a few big gulps. âShitty timing, like always,â you say once youâre finished hydrating. Isaac shrugs, a soft smirk resting on his lips like it often does. âAt least youâre safe here, no birds crashing against your window. No annoying twins running around.â
He moves to sit next to you now, handing you your bowl of soup before softly kissing the side of your head. âDonât think too much about the others, theyâre fine. You need to rest and get betterâ he says softly, playing with your hair as you relax into him.
Itâs quiet while you finish eating, heâs grabbed your laptop from the corner of your bed to try and find something to watch. When youâre debating whether or not to do another rerun of your favourite show, Isaacâs phone starts ringing. He sighs before picking it up, âItâs Scott-â âItâs okay, it might be importantâ you interrupt him.
He lets out another sigh before picking up, you canât hear what Scottâs saying but by the look on Isaacâs face, itâs important. Youâre about to tell him to just go when he responds to Scott. âLook Scott, donât you think you can do this without me? Call Derek if you need to but I canât leave right now.â You hear some distant words before they say goodbye and Isaac hangs up, throwing his phone to the other side of the bed.
You look up at him with a raised brow. âWhat? Scottâs a big boy, he can handle himself for one night. I need to make sure that you are okay.â He puffs his chest out, almost acting proud of staying here with you. âYeah, okay big guy- I really need some protection here in case a deer breaks inâ you respond laughing.
He laughs, shaking his head softly so his curly hair falls back in place. âThatâs what Iâm here for,â he says before grabbing the forgotten laptop again. âAnd to rewatch this show for the fifth time.â You smile at him before snuggling into his chest, ready to watch your favourite show again.
I'm Here
[Pairings]: FBI Agent!Samantha Carpenter x Fem!Reader
[Summary]: Sam overworks herself at the agency and you're always there to help her.
[Warnings]: blood, corpses, swearing (?), my writing
A/N: Well, I don't know what this is. It's shit but I'll post it anyway. So sorry for not being active!
-------------------------------------------------------------
âAgent Carpenter! Watch out!â
Agent Reyes shouts out to Sam, his gun held high as he fires towards the person in the ski mask behind Sam. Sam spins around, her eyes wide and breath heavy as she aims and shoots the person. The personâs body hits the ground with a thud and Sam lets out a relieved breath. Agent Reyes or, as his friends call him, Mark runs up to Sam and breathes heavily.
âShit. You okay?â Mark asks, putting his gun away under his belt. A little bit of blood has coated his brown blazer by a wound on his side.
âYeah.â Sam breathes out as she pushes her hair out of her face, sweat droplets littering her forehead.Â
Mark nods and looks around at the multiple corpses of the murdererâs sidekicks. âGreat job, Partnerâ Mark chuckles dryly.
Sam rolls her eyes and puts her gun back in its holder before adjusting her vest and turning around to walk back to her car when she hears sirens. âNot yet, Reyes. We havenât catched him yet.â Sam opens the door of her Grey and White Dodge Charger. She starts the car and rolls down the passenger sideâs window to look at Mark whoâs standing not far from the car with furrowed eyebrows. âI have somewhere I need to be. Youâll take care of the press.â
Mark scoffs when he sees Samâs smirk âOh come on!â He shouts but Sam just laughs and drives away.âFuck You!â He groans as the police cars and various numbers of vans from different TV News channels arrive at the scene.
â â
âBaby? Tara? You guys here?â Sam shouts out when she returns home, hanging her coat up before taking her combat boots off .
As soon as you hear your girlfriend's voice, you throw your uno cards at Tara and bolt out of the dining room, running to Sam and jumping into her arms.
âOh thank god youâre okay!â You exclaim as Sam catches you and wraps her arms around you tightly.
Sam chuckles and buries her face into the crook of your neck, breathing in your scent. âOf course, baby.â
Tara quietly pads into the room and smiles at the two of you before slapping your back gently. âHey, come on. Sheâs my sister whoâs just looked death in the eye today, my turn.â She huffs.
Sam gently puts you down and places a chaste kiss on your lips before turning to Tara and wrapping her arms around her.. âOh donât exaggerate, Tar. I did not look death in the eye.âÂ
You giggle before turning around and walking to the dining room, resulting in both the sisters following after you. âI made dinner, âcause the twins were here earlier and they were complaining about how they canât eat normal food in their dormsâŠâ You explain, pointing to the pot of food on the stove.
Sam nods softly and Tara goes to gather the uno cards that are scattered around on the dining table so that Sam could have her dinner.. After you heat up her food, Sam sits down with you while Tara goes into the bathroom to take a shower after looking at the time and noticing that itâs past midnight.Â
âSo? Did you catch him?â You ask, sitting across from Sam while slurping on a cup of tea.
Sam huffs and swallows her food before answering. âNope. Only more of his little âsidekicksâ showed up at the meeting spot which resulted in a bloodbath.â Sam sighs, her eyelids feeling heavy before she continues eating. âFoodâs delicious by the way.âÂ
You nod and mutter a small âThank youâ before standing up and putting your now empty cup away. Sam soon finishes her food and you wash the dishes while she goes showering, but not before confirming that Tara is already in her room.Â
About thirty minutes later, you and Sam are laying in your shared bed, your head on her chest and leg thrown over her front as she strokes your hair. Sam softly kisses the top of your head before closing her eyes and sighing.
âGoodnightâ
You smile softly and your hand strokes her stomach under her pajama shirt. âGoodnight, SammyâÂ
â â
The next morning -which for you is around 11 AM since itâs saturday- you wake up to a feeling of coldness and throw your arms around the bed, trying to look for Sam. You sigh and grunt when you realize that sheâs already up. Opening your eyes, you hiss at the brightness of the sun shining through the window. Â
Stupid Tara. What was she doing in your and Samâs room, anyway?
After your eyes adjust to the bright sun, you sit up and look at the clock on your bedside table.
10:47 AM
You sigh heavily before standing up and walking out of the room, walking into the kitchen still in your pajamas. You see Tara sitting on the counter, munching on a NERDS rope. You roll your eyes at her.
âArenât you supposed to eat lunch in like an hour?â
âYeah. So?â Tara glances at you, her legs swinging back and forth.
You shake your head and look around. âWhereâs Sam?âÂ
âAt workâTara answers, still chewing on the candy.
âWhat?! Itâs Saturday!â You exclaim, eyebrows furrowed. Tara nods, finishes the candy before hopping off the counter.
âYeah. But since itâs an important case, she has to go in and work on itâ Tara says, standing in front of you. You raise your eyebrows, arms crossed. Tara puts her hands up, the paper of the candy still in her left hand. âSamâs words. Not mineâ
You sigh. âMan, Iâm gonna be soooo boredâÂ
âHey! What am I? A roach?â Tara exclaims, slightly offended by your statement.
âWellâŠ.âYou trail off: âYou sometimes act like one.â You hear Tara grumble and she crosses her arms as well, looking up at you slightly with a deep scowl on her face.
âNo I donâtâ Â
âOh yes, you do!â You smirk, enjoying her annoyed state.
âNo, I donât!â She fires back.
âWhatever. At least I know youâre not self-aware.â You smile and turn around, walking away and into the living room.
Tara gasps and quickly stomps after you in a hurry. âHey! Thatâs...you know thatâs not true!â She stands in front of you when you sit down on the couch, now a frown on her face.
âOh come on! Youâre such a crybaby!â You whine out, now being the one looking up at her. She bites her lip and pouts. You let out a loud sigh and stand up, gently pushing her before holding out your arms and looking at her softly.
âForgive me?â
A wide grin spreads across Taraâs face and she hugs you tightly. You wrap your arms around her and shake your head, chuckling.
Suddenly, the front door opens and Sam walks in with a grunt as she drops her bag on the floor. You and Tara look up and you let go of her.
âSammy? Whatâs up? Youâre home early?â
Sam looks up and her gaze immediately softens. âYeah. Brad told me and Mark to go home. That we shouldnât work on our rest dayâ She mumbles and you walk up to her and she hugs you tightly, her arms around your lower back while yours are around her neck.
âAnd you shouldnât. Baby, I know you really want to catch this guy but you canât if you overwork yourself, okay? You need to restâÂ
Sam sighs into your shoulder and nods. âI know.â
You rub her back softly. âCome on, Iâll give you a bath.â Sam sighs and nods.
Tara perks up and shouts after you as you and Sam walk into the bathroom after she placed a soft kiss on your lips. âIâll make lunch!â
You reply with an âOkayâ before shutting the door behind you and Sam.
â â
Later, after everyoneâs finished their lunch and Sam had her bath, Tara is already out, deciding to pay a visit to the twins for a small study-date. You and Sam are laying in your bed, her head on your stomach as your fingers thread through her softly, silky hair. Sam wraps her arms around your waist and buries her face into your stomach.
âGod. I just..wanna catch himâ She mumbles and the sensation makes you hold back a giggle.
âI know, baby. I know.â You whisper softly, your other hand rubbing her back gently. âAnd you will. Iâd say thereâs no need to rush it, âcause heâs killing people butâŠ.you still donât have to do this to yourself.â Sam sighs and nods into your stomach softly, âYou promise me you wonât do this again?â She nods. âWords, Sammy. I need wordsâ
âI promise youâ
author's notes: i have returned with more (not proofread) writing !
Your eyes were practically filled with lead as you stared at your computer screen, the design you had opened on Photoshop blurring as consciousness continues to slip past your fingers. Whatever you had planned on fixing with the design in front of you was long gone with your sanity and will to stay awake. As darkness surrounds you, all you could hear is the clicking of your mouse and keyboard, your department completely empty aside from you.
Your eyes flickered to the bottom corner of your screen; 08:24 PM, it read. Everyone else in the department had gone home, at six, but because your annoying, and cutthroat new team manager was giving you so much crap for the designs you submitted for next quarterâs social media, you were forced to work later to fix the mistakes she had pointed out.
It wasnât unusual for the design team to stay later in the office to finish up projects, but your former team manager never allowed anyone to stay past seven. Safe to say, your new team manager didnât careâall she cared about was that you work quick, and efficient. If it requires staying overnight at the office, then better bring out your neck pillow.
âHello? Is someone still here?â Jumping in your chair, you looked over the dividers of your cubicle, spotting Seungcheol, an employee in the Marketing division, standing by the door.
Raising your hand, you announced, âI am.â
Seungcheolâs eyes squinted, trying to spot you through the dark before his eyebrows knitted together in confusion upon seeing you in the empty room. âY/N? What are you still doing here?â His footsteps echoed throughout the empty room, approaching you and seating himself in the cubicle beside you. âWorking on something?â
You weakly nodded, sleep returning to fog your brain. âI have revisions from Hyunhee.â
âHyunhee?â
âOur new team manager,â you grumbled, just thinking about the woman made your head ache in annoyance. âSince Jiha is on maternal leave, I have to handle both hers and my own projects, and Hyunheeâsafe to sayââ you motioned to the empty room ââsheâs a pain in my ass.â
Seungcheol couldnât help but chuckle, shaking his head. âAnd this?â He nodded his head towards your computer.
âItâs for next quarterâs Instagram feed, but Hyunhee has a completely different idea to what my former team manager had, so she hates every single thing that Iâve given her.â
âReally? Sheâs that bad?â
You nod, your lips jutting out slightly as you recall how terrible Hyunhee was to you since she became the team manager. âI donât get it, thoughâdonât get me wrong, sheâs a nightmare to everyone, but it feels especially bad when it comes to me.â
âHow come?â
âIt might be because on her first day, I had a septum piercing, and she called me out on that saying itâs unprofessional and that I should remove it,â you explained, the design on your computer long forgotten as you shifted in your chair to face Seungcheol. Your brows furrowed upon a realization, âWait, why are you still here?â
âI left at six, but came back because I forgot my phone charger,â he explained, âand since the janitor was mopping up the area in front of the lift, I chose to go down the stairs and walked past here and noticed the light in your cubicle.â
âIt must be nice having an overbearing manager,â you mumbled, adding, âyou can leave once work hours are over.â
âWhy donât you continue it tomorrow, Y/N?â He takes a gander at your work. âIt looks good, too, you can do finishing touches tomorrow morning.â
âBecause Hyunhee wants it tomorrow, before she comes in,â you responded, the urge to cry out of frustration growing stronger. âAnd this design is the one that she rejected, all of it.â You couldnât but chuckle at Seungcheol when he stares at you with widened eyes, shocked.
âIs this even allowed? I get staying an hour after work hours end, but itâs almost nine, Y/N.â
âShe doesnât really care, just cares that the project is complete and placed on her desk when she asked for it,â you informed him, and immediately looked away as he stares at you in pity. Itâs pathetic, really, to feel obligated to invest so much time and energy for something you knew could be completed within working hours. Maybe you were scared of Hyunhee. Rumors say that she got the job as team manager because she is indirectly connected to the Chief of Operation in your company, and you didnât want to find out what would happen if you crossed the line.
Or in this case, submit a late project.
âDo you want me to accompany you while you work on this? I donât mind staying in late,â Seungcheol offered, and your heart couldnât help but melt at his offer. You couldnât lie that being accompanied by an attractive guy as the hours grow late wasnât a bad thingâit could help keep you awake, too, but you felt bad. This wasnât Seungcheolâs project to complete, it was (unfortunately) yours.
So, you shook your head, giving him a reassuring smile, âNo need, Cheol. I might go home in twenty minutes, and continue then.â
âIâll accompany you until then, Y/N,â he states, sitting back and crossing his arms over his chest to indicate he wasnât going to move.
âSeriously, Cheol, you can go home, Iâll be fine.â
He only shakes his head, standing (or sitting) his ground. He then nods his head towards your abandoned project. âGo on, Y/N, move it to your USB.â
As you move the files to your flash drive, Seungcheol stood from the chair, eyes wandering around your cubicle space, noticing the little pictures you had all around the walls of the dividerâthere were a few of you with your friends and family, none that came off to be anything more than platonic.
Why was he even looking to see if you had a partner or not? His cheeks heated at the realization when his heart raced at the possibility of you being single.
âSeungcheol?â
âIâm sorry, Y/N, what?â You couldnât help but chuckle seeing his flustered face beneath the dim lighting of your cubicle. Your interactions with Seungcheol arenât daily, but theyâre enough to have you form an interest towards the Marketing division employee. Heâs also the only one from the Marketing division that doesnât give ridiculous deadlines like the rest of his team.
âIâm ready,â you repeated, and he nodded, taking a step back to allow you to walk ahead of him after turning off your desk lamp and the two of you left the office.
âDo you usually stay at the office this long?â Seungcheol asks as the two of you stepped into the elevator, and you shake your head no before answering, leaning your back against the metal walls.
âNot really, I get really bad headaches if I stay up too long, so safe to say Iâm going to have a blast tomorrow at work,â you answered with a bitter chuckle. âIt wouldnât be a problem if right when I get home, I sleep, but I still have a lot to fix before tomorrow morning, soâŠâ You trailed off with a shrug, Seungcheolâs look of concern not going unnoticed, causing you to chuckle. âItâs fine, Cheol⊠Iâll be fine.â
He only nodded, not convinced enough but didnât press on. âDid you drive here?â
âYeah, I did.â He nodded, and that was the end of your conversation as the two of you bid goodbye before climbing into your cars and driving separate directions towards your homes. As you had told him, the moment you stepped into your apartment, you didnât directly fall into the soft covers of your bed, knowing well enough that the second your head touches your fluffed up pillow, youâd be out like a light.
So, you placed your work laptop onto your coffee table, arranging your pillows in a way that allowed you to sit on your wooden floor without flattening your butt. You brewed up a shot of espresso, ordering something to snack on as you turned on your personal laptop for an ambience. Once you felt that you could comfortably continue the project, you put on your headphones and got to work, eyes flickering between the laptop and the sheet of paper that Hyunhee had revised, making sure that all details she demanded of were there.
It was 4:52 AM when you finally finished everything, double checking and adjusting all elements before saving and resting your head on your arms that were folded on the coffee table. Despite downing two cups of iced coffee, the caffeine could not completely erase your exhaustion and soon enough, you awoke to your alarm, indicating that it was already eight in the morning, and you needed to be in the office before nine-thirty.
As you pushed yourself up, your head immediately spun, your vision blurring and for a couple seconds, an aching feeling pierced through your skull, forcing you to have to sit for a minute to let it pass. Damn it, today was going to be difficult to get through with your obvious sleep deprivation. Not even taking an ibuprofen could aid the headache that was going to worsen the longer you stayed awake, but you couldnât call in sick, especially an hour before the day starts. Hyunhee has always nagged about last-minute excuses, asking (demanding) all of you to inform her 24 hours before, and anything after would not be allowed.
Pushing yourself, you quickly showered, deciding to grab breakfast on the way and within twenty minutes, you were out of your apartment and on the way to the office. Upon arrival, you practically sprinted to your office, eyes locking with your co-workers as they stare at you and shake their heads, indicating that Hyunhee hasnât arrived yet. With a sigh of relief, you tip-toe into your supervisorâs office, placing the printed results and found your cubicle, practically falling onto your chair.
âHey, Y/N, you okay?â You glance over at Yeeun, finding her staring at you with a look of concern. âYou look really pale, Y/N, how much sleep did you get last night?â
âBarely any,â you answered with a pout, grabbing your phone to see your face. Although, you couldnât really tell the difference. You did feel terrible, but safe to say, work isnât that fun for you to put on so much effort for a job that doesnât pay you enough. âI finished the Youngbok project just this morning.â
âSeriously? Youâre still working on that?â
Before you could answer, Hyunhee bid everyone a good morning as she entered the department, her heels clicking against the ceramic floor as she walks into her office. You could only share a knowing look with your co-worker as you sunk into your chair.
It was good twenty minutes of peace in the Graphic Designs department, the clicking of keyboard and mice, and soft murmuring of the employees filling the air before a shrill yell emerged from Hyunheeâs office, a shiver running up your spine as you realized in your sleep deprived state that she had called you.
Yeeun shared the same look of genuine fear with you, as everyone stared at you with wide-eyes. You stood from your chair, the steps you took to Hyunheeâs office felt heavy, as if the soles of your shoes were filled with lead. Dread began to fill your body to the tips of your hair as you gently knock on your superiorâs door, her eyes glaring at you before staring at the sheets of printed out designs you had laid out. You entered her office after excusing yourself in a tone nothing higher than a whisper, and she glances between the door and you, signaling you to close the door.
This isnât going to end well, you couldnât help but think as you push the door, the clicking of the lock practically echoing throughout the department, everyone outside of where you were, were sat at the edge of their seat, fearing for what was about to happen.
There was a deafening silence as you stood in front of her desk, watching as she flips through your designs, and you felt yourself disassociating for a second, in a daze as your eyes gloss over while staring at her crossing out everything with her wretched red marker.
A slam of the compiled prints against the ceramic floor broke your daze, and you found your designs by your feet, on the floor.
If you were pale from sleep deprivation then, you were now pale from pure fear.
âWhat the hell is that?â
âI-itâs the revised designs you asked of me,â you stutter, internally beating yourself up for sounding so scared.
âAre you sure? Because I asked for designs, not pure rubbish, Y/N,â she insults, her words laced purely with venom as she stares you down. Not knowing what to say, you stayed quiet and she took that opportunity to berate you even more. âI donât understand what Mr. Kim had saw in you, but it sure as well wasnât anything good, because how is that you have worked in this department for so long, and yet, are incapable of providing compelling designs, hm?â
âIâm sorry, Hyunhee, I will work on it and fix everything I did wrong,â you quickly apologized, kneeling down to pick up the papers.
She leans forward, resting her chin atop her hands, as she glares at you. âI want them today, before you leave the officeâeven if that means you have to spend the night here, I donât care.â
âI-I understand,â you muttered, ducking your head.
âLeave.â She didnât have to tell you twice before you dipped out of her office, tossing the paper onto your desk and slumped into your seat. You wanted to cry. You wanted to cry and scream, but you didnât want to give Hyunhee the satisfaction that she actually broke you apart. All eyes were on you, however, everyone knew better than to bother or ask someone after they had faced the devil incarnate. Yeeun found it difficult to turn a blind eye on your obvious disoriented state, from both sleep deprivation and having faced Hyunhee so early in the morning, but she knew youâd snap if she even poked you.
You wanted to leave, walk out of the office because you believed you didnât deserve to be treated like that unwarranted, but you couldnât. You couldnât bring your feet to stand up and walk out that door knowing well enough that you can never come back in. You would have lost your jobâall the work that you put into this job for the past year would be thrown out the window because a woman that has barely sat in that office feels that she has power over you, and your future. In a way, she did. Her words will always go against yours, and hersâbacked by the connections that got her this job with minimal experience in graphic designâwould always prevail.
So, all you could was listen and work on the revisions she had given. No word had left your lips since you had left Hyunheeâs office, and no one bothered you as you put on earphones and focused on the project opened. Your break times consisted of staying seated in your chair, opening YouTube to watch some video that you couldnât pay attention to, watching it for five minutes before closing and continuing the project.
Before you knew it, shades of orange had begun to bleed through the blinds of the office, people were packing up and sparing pitiful glances as they bid each other goodbye, their wary gaze not unnoticed by you. Nonetheless, you paid them no mind, completely set on finishing everything before the day ends. You were lucky enough to gain at least thirty minutes of sleep because Hyunhee had left the office early, allowing for you to close your eyes with no fear of being woken up by the she-demon.
You were tempted on sleeping, anyway, knowing well enough youâd wake up with an ache in your neck and an unfinished assignment. Your eyes were closing slowly, your screen blurring as you felt sleep take over you, only to jump, a scream exiting your lips when you felt a hand grasp your shoulder.
âOh myâIâm so sorry, Y/N,â Seungcheol profusely apologized when he noticed the tears brimming at your eyes from the genuine scare. âI called you earlier, but I didnât see you wearing earphones.â
Too tired, too angry, you couldnât muster up a comment, only shrugging off his hand as you turned your head to your computer, the jolt from Seungcheol giving you a bit of energy to work off of.
âHey, I heard, by the way, from everyone that Hyunhee gave you an earful,â he stated, sitting besides you.
You couldnât help but scoff, âAn earful? Thatâs an understatement.â
âAre you okay, Y/N?â
Aggravated, you removed both earbuds from your ears, spinning with a sharp turn on your chair to face Seungcheol, your brows furrowed and fury running through your veins. All you ask is to not be disturbed until you get this stupid, cursed project done, was that so much? âDo I look okay, Seungcheol?â
Noticing your hostile behaviour, his expression mirrored yours, with a touch of worry found in the glint of his eyes. âIâm just trying to make sure youâre okay, Y/N. I donât mean to be rude, if thatâs how I come off right now.â
âWell, you do, alright?â You lifted your earphones, waving it in front of him. âIf I have these on, itâs a universal sign that I donât want to talk to anyoneâyou noticed them, why are you bothering me right now?â
Taken aback by your words, he was stunnedâhis mouth opened then closed, unsure on how to react to your sudden behaviour. He has never seen you this angry, not even when ranting about Hyunhee. You watched as his jaw clenched, momentarily looking away as if that would allow him to cool down, before he clapped his hands on his knees and stood from his chair.
âYouâre obviously exhausted, Y/N, Yeeun told me you barely slept that might be why youâre being the way you are right now,â Seungcheol pointed out, âIâll leave you alone, alright? Iâm so sorry that I actually give a shit about you, and wanted to make sure you were okay.â Before you could take back all you had said, Seungcheol was out the door, leaving you in your office alone, the darkness encompassing you, seeping deep within to your bones.
The one person that genuinely was there for you, only ever cared for you, and put him on the receiving end of your shitty day. Way to go, Y/N.
Rubbing your eyes with the heels of your palm, whatever energy you had to work on the project was thrown out the window, and you couldnât find it in yourself to continue clicking the mouse or tapping the keyboard, not with the guilt from how you spoke to Seungcheol still plaguing your thoughts. You werenât going to get anything done at this point.
Packing your things, you quickly rushed out to your car, praying that he didnât completely hate you as you drove to his apartment. You werenât sure what you were going to do once you got there, but what you were sure was that youâll grovel, and hope he forgives you for being such an ass, unwarranted. Upon arrival, you practically jumped out of your car, rushing up the evacuation steps to his floor, and reached up to knock, but paused.
What if he doesnât forgive you? Itâs not like your friendship with him was more than as acquaintances. He didnât have anything to lose with losing you, but you felt you had everything to lose with losing him. He was the first person you got to know in this stupid companyâas he mentored you during your internship in the company. Then, after you graduated college, you reached out again, and applied for the Graphic Design division. Seungcheol guided you ever since, and admittedly, youâve grown fond of himâyou admired him as a role model, and more.
Heâs not obligated to forgive you, but you already came this far, might as well give it a try?
Taking a deep breath, you gently knocked on his door a few times, hearing rustling on the other side before the door swung open, revealing Seungcheol already out of his work clothes, and in a plain white tee and grey sweatpants. âI thought I said just leave it by theâ Y/N?â
âSorry, I forgot your delivery at the restaurant,â you improved, causing Seungcheolâs thick brows to furrow before he chuckled, your joke successfully amusing him.
âWhat are you doing here?â
âItâs definitely not to deliver your food, thatâs for sure,â you awkwardly smiled, feeling your heart race from seeing him in such a laid-back outfit. You had never seen Seungcheol wear anything other than the button-ups and slacks you were used to seeing at the work, so seeing him look so⊠cozy, was a sight you wish to never grow tired of.
The corner of Seungcheolâs lips tilted upwards, but he didnât laugh. Leaning against the frame of his door, he crossed his (muscular) arms over his chest, waiting for an explanation as to why you suddenly appeared at his front door.
âLook, Seungcheolââ
âDelivery for Choi Seungcheol.â A new voice caused you to jump, both your heads turning to see the delivery boy appear from the turn, his eyes looking questioningly at both you and your acquaintance. âChoi Seungcheol?â
âThatâs me, thanks,â Seungcheol uttered, reaching out and taking the plastic bags from the delivery boy, the latter leaving with a tilt of his hat towards you and disappearing past the corner.
âAs I wasââ You turn to face Seungcheol again, but he, too, disappeared. You peeked into his apartment to find him pulling out his order, arranging them on his coffee table before sitting on the floor. He glances up at you, wordlessly waving for you to come in, and unsure what else to do, you obliged, closing the door behind you and slipping your feet out your shoes.
âI didnât expect company, but dig in if you want,â he uttered, handing you a pair of chopsticks. It was only then did you realize that you barely ate today, too occupied with the stupid project. âIf itâs not enough, we can always order more.â
âSeungcheol, Iâm trying to apologize to you,â you spoke up, head tilted down at your knees. âIâm really sorry for taking my anger out on you⊠You of all people didnât deserve itâŠâ
When Seungcheol didnât respond, you looked up to find him slurping up jjajangmyeon, eyes trained on his TV. âAre you serious?â
He glanced over at you, stifling a laugh before wiping his mouth with tissue, âI thought you were going to go on a full rant, at least three paragraphs.â
You pouted, âMe coming here was on a whim, I didnât really prepare anything.â
He found your defeated expression adorable, couldnât help but chuckle as he pushes a bowl towards you, adding the noodles onto the empty space before tapping the rim, gesturing for you to eat. âYouâre really pale, Y/N, did you eat anything today?â
âProbably cup noodles,â you mumbled, eyes glimmering at the sight of the thickly coated noodles. âI couldnât really do anything other than work on that stupid project.â
âHyunhee made you stay late again?â You nodded, your cheeks full of the noodles. âLook, Y/N, I know you love being a graphic designer, but do you really think itâs alright to work under someone like her? This seems like sheâs abusing her power as team manager, and overworking you.â As he spoke, he reached out with a tissue in hand, wiping the corner of your lips. Why did he look so nonchalant about it, too?
âI donât want to quit, though, Iâve been here longer than she has, why do I have to leave?â You complained once you swallowed the noodles. âI just⊠I hate it, you know? Iâve just been trying so damn hard, yet nothing ever works out⊠Especially since she came into the picture.â
There was a brief moment of silence.
âHow about transferring divisions?â Seungcheol quipped, continuing, âIâm sure if you make a letter of intent to the department manager, you could be moved to a different division where Hyunhee doesnât exist.â
âIs that possible?â
He nodded. âDid you think I was always in the Marketing division?â
âI honestly thought youâd be a finance guy.â
âI was.â Your widened eyes caused him to laugh. âThen I moved, it was a few months before you came in as an intern.â
âReally?â He nods, and you thought about it. âYou think Iâd be allowed to move divisions?â
âYeah, why not? If you give a good reason to why you should be moved, then itâs possible.â You pondered over the suggestion, the two of you letting a few minutes of silence pass while eating before you spoke up again.
âBut I donât want to leave the department.â
âThen ask to be transferred to a different division.â
âWhat about your division?â Seungcheol stares at you with bewildered eyes, genuinely surprised at your suggestion. âI mean, itâs less work for you since I already have experience working with you, and I wonât need a mentorâI already know the head, so thatâs also less work.â
âNo, not mine, Y/N,â
âWhy not?â
âItâs a violation of our code of conducts, Y/N, donât you know?â
âWhat about me moving to your division violates the code of conducts?â
âEmployees from the same division are not allowed to fraternize with one another,â he explains, âif you move to my division, weâll be co-workers.â
âSo? Itâs not like weâre dating.â
âNot yet.â
âSureââ You froze, the chopsticks you raised to your lips dropping back into the bowl. ââWhat?â
âWhat?â Seungcheol asked, nonchalant. His tone mightâve been nonchalant and unbothered, but you could see from his cheeks to the points of his ears were flushed a bright red under the warm lighting of his living room.
âYou like me?â
He shrugged, âWhy do you think I walk by your office every day?â
âI thought you only did that because the janitor was cleaning the floor.â
He inhaled a deep breath, releasing the heavy sigh before standing to grab water from the kitchen, ruffling your hair on the way. âYouâre very oblivious, Y/N.â
âS-so, all this time?â
âNot all this time, Y/N, I just know that I see you more than just an acquaintance,â he explains, tossing you a bottle of water. âBut thatâs not important right now. Right now we need to get you out of Hyunheeâs team.â
How⊠How is he able to continue this conversation after admitting to having feelings for you? How is he so calm?
He wasnât. If you looked closer, the only reason why he tossed you the bottle was because if he handed it to you, then youâd most likely notice his shaking hands. The only reason why he changed the topic was because the longer you talk about him and his feelings, the redder heâll be and to be honest, he likes to come off calm and collected to you, despite being the complete opposite when it comes to being near you.
âYouâll help me with that?â
Seungcheol nods. âOf course I wouldâjust think of me as a helping hand now, Y/N. I help you, and you can help me when the time comes.â
âAnd what would you need help with, Choi Seungcheol?â
âI have two tickets to movie Saturday night, Iâll need help to make sure the other ticket doesnât go to waste, Y/N,â he proposed, causing your cheeks to ache from the smile on your face. âBut right now, I need help finishing this food. Are you up for it?â
You chuckled, nodding, âIâll gladly give you a helping hand.â
âSheâs helping GiGi put her shoes on upstairs,â Simone replied, standing next to Harry by the front door of the house. She was dressed comfortably in a pair of sweatpants and one of Harry's old crew necks, a pair of leather sneakers on her feet. He'd tried to talk her into a different pair of shoes for the flight, but she was going through a sneaker phase at the moment and wouldn't hear it.
Harry nodded at his oldest child and continued. âGreat. Twins?â
There was no answer. Looking up and down the front hall of the house, Harry wondered where two out of his five children were. âMaeve? Jules? Come on, weâre going to be late!â
There was more silence, and Harry silently worried about what his most troublemaking children were up to. But after a minute, he heard the sound of feet running around upstairs, and a few seconds later, the twins bounding down the staircase headed for Harry and Simone. Harry looked them over to make sure they were dressed and ready to go. They were, but had switched shoes againâJulian in his sisterâs sparkly pink ones and Marve in his plain black sneakers. Neither Harry nor Y/n knew why they switched their shoes, and sometimes their clothes. It was always a toss up when they came down the stairs dressed for school. Sometimes Jules and Maeve were in their own clothes, sometimes they werenât, and sometimes they were in some sort of combination. After the first couple times it happened, Harry and Y/n stopped questioning it; as long as they were fully dressed and out the door for school on time, it didnât really matter to them.
Not even batting an eye at the twinsâ shoe switch, he asked them, âReady?â
âReady!â they said together, following their older sister out of the house and into the car.
Harry waited for his three remaining children, smiling when Colette and Geneva skipped down the stairs together. GiGi ran over to him and leapt into his arms, and Harry caught her, kissing her cheek and fixing the little hat she was wearing. Five down, one to go.
"Mama! You ready to go?"
"Almost!"
"We're gonna be late!"
"Saying that doesn't make me go any faster!" Y/n called back.
Harry shook his head at his wife, but waited for her patiently by the door all the same, double checking in his head that they had everything in the carâsuitcases, iPads, sunblock, passports, chargers, etc. GiGi played with his hair and babbled in his ear while Collette ran off to the car with the rest of the family, curly hair bouncing with each step.
After a couple minutes, Y/n came down the stairs with Natalia in her arms, a tiny backpack resembling a giraffe on his youngest daughter's back. Y/n looked a little frazzled as she went out the door, but Harry didn't comment on it, just took the diaper bag from her and locked up the house once everyone was outside.
"I just spent the last twenty minutes trying to get her into the pull-up," Y/n explained.
"Does she really need it? She wears underwear now."
Y/n looked at him. "Do you want to deal with an accident thousands of feet up in the air?"
"Good point."
They got in the car in silence, and Harry did one last headcount before starting the car. "Does everyone have everything?" Y/n asked one more time, which meant Collette was unbuckling and running back into the house for something, Julian not far behind.
"Are we really doing this?" he muttered to her.
"We're really doing this," she murmured back.
"God help us."
The drive to the airport was full of chatter, the way it always was when Harry drove all six of his children somewhere. Maeve and Julian were off in their own little world, GiGi was singing along to what she thought were the words to the song on the radio, Colette was talking about the science project Y/n helped her finish from the window seat behind him, and Simone was sitting in the backseat with⊠Daniel, the boy she had asked to invite a couple weeks ago.
Harry remembered the night his daughter came into his and Y/nâs room as the two of them were getting ready for bed with utmost clarity, remembered how Simone switched from foot to foot and didnât meet either of them in the eye as she asked if she could bring a friend on their family vacation. Of course, Harry told her, not sure why she was acting so nervous. Her friend Melanie was always welcome to join them on their family outings.
But Y/n knew better, as she always did when it came to things like this. She hardly even reacted when Simone clarified that it wasnât Melanie, but a different friend. Daniel.
Harry immediately wanted to say no once he realized why his daughter was acting so shy about asking if Daniel could come, but his wife subtly pinched his side to keep him quiet while she told Simone yes and that she would call Danielâs mother in the morning to make sure it was okay. Harry kept his cool while Simone thanked him and Y/n, kissing each of them on the cheek before leaving their bedroom with a wish goodnight over her shoulder. The second Y/n heard the door to her oldest daughterâs room shut with a soft click, she picked up a throw pillow off their bed and whacked him with it.
âOuch! What the hell was that for?â he asked, giving his wife an incredulous look at her actions.
âYou better be on your best behavior,â was all she said, not apologizing for her pillow attack.
Harry rolled his eyes, trying to pretend like he wasnât freaking out on the inside. âI donât know what youâre talking about,â he said innocently, getting under the covers of their bed after turning the lamp by their bed off.
Y/n turned it back on, not believing him for a second. âI mean it, Harry,â she said, using the same stern voice she often reserved for their kids. Crawling over to him so that she was perched on top of him with her legs on either side of his waist, she poked him in the chest. âBe-have.â
âI donât know what youâre on about,â he tried to reason, but he already felt resentment bubbling in the pit of his stomach towards this Daniel person. When his wife gave him a look that told him she still wasnât convinced, he sighed. âIâm not ready for the boys, or the girls,â he added as an afterthought. Simone never talked about it, but Harry and Y/n always kept an open mind about such things. âSheâs too young for dating.â
Y/n raised her eyes heavenward, clearly exasperated by her husband. âHarry, how old were you when you had your first kiss?â
Harry grumbled under his breath, which made Y/n grin just a little. "You're not helping."
âWe're so far off from that anyway, love. He's just a friend from school. And a nice boy. I've driven him home from school a few times. He's an only child. He could use a dose of...us.â
Harry kept quiet, crossing his arms and pouting because while he knew his baby was growing up, that didn't mean he had to like it. Knowing he didnât have any sort of argument for that, Y/n continued. âShe needs friends, H. Donât you notice how she rarely invites anyone over to the house?â
He had noticed, but she was also constantly across the street at her friend Melanieâs house. âI know that, butâŠSheâs my baby.â
Y/nâs eyes softened. She shuffled around on the bed until she had her arms wrapped around him, her fingers as soothing as they always were as they ran through his hair. âShe is, and she always will be, so be happy that your baby asked if her friend could come with us on vacation instead of sneaking out of the house to see him.â
That image did nothing to relax Harryâs troubled thoughts in the slightest. He wanted to be comforted by the memories of Simone sleeping between him and Y/n, of when she was so small and only wanted to be in Harryâs arms when they went somewhere, of first steps, first Christmas, first everything. He didn't think they were at the stage of first boy.
âHey,â Y/n said quietly when Harry remained quiet for a few minutes. She knew her husband had a hard time seeing Simone grow up. He loved all their children equally, but his bond with their oldest daughter was a special one. In a time of uncertainty and chaos, Harry saw their daughter for the first time and sheâd become a beacon of light and love. The day he became a father was the best day of his life, and he had been protecting and loving Simone ever since.
"He really is just a friend. You think I would be okay with him joining our vacation if he wasn't? She's twelve, H."
Harry sighed, pouting his lips just a little. "I know. But can you freak out a little with me so I don't feel like the only crazy parent?"
Y/n chuckled and kissed his cheek. "But who would reason with you? Remind you about the beautiful resort we're staying at," she said, planting another kiss, this one closer to his ear. "And the master bedroom that's on a whole separate floor from the other rooms in the suite." Another kiss. "All the alone time we'll have once everyone is asleep."
She continued to whisper in Harry's ear about all the things she wanted to do with him once they were on vacation, one of which made his eyes widen.
"Really?"
"Mmhm."
"You mean it? We canâ"
He didn't even want to say it in case he jinxed it, but it didn't seem like his wife was joking. Y/n nodded, tracing his lips with the tip of her finger. "You know I don't joke about that."
He grinned, the reaction almost involuntary. Kissing her once, twice, three times, Harry responded with, âI love you.â
There was silence as Harry and Y/n continued to kiss, long and lazy ones that made Harry nearly forget about Daniel, especially as Y/nâs leg draped over his middle and his hands moved under her sleep shirt. Nearly. âHe better not try anything, or Iâllââ
âYour best behavior,â she intoned, hovering just above him as she used her stern voice again. âThink of the alone time.â
Harry rolled his eyes. âWhy do I get the feeling you enjoy telling me what to do?â
âIt gives me a rush,â Y/n said simply, pecking him on the nose. Harry flipped her over so that her back was against the mattress, his lips were just barely touching hers as he told her it was his turn to make demands.
For the next couple weeks, Harry had removed Daniel from his mind. But the time had come to drive to the address Y/n had given him when they got in the car. He hadnât paid much attention to where each of his children were sitting until he waved at Daniel, then raised his brows slightly as he climbed into the back row to join Simone. He wasnât a huge fan of that, but then Geneva accused him of not singing along to the song that was playing, and because he could never turn down singing with his daughter, his mind was temporarily occupied.
That didnât stop his eyes from flicking to the rearview mirror every few minutes to check up on Simone and her friend. He eyed the blonde hair that came down to the boyâs shoulders, the leather cord necklace that peeked out from under his shirt, the warm tan he had from spending time in the sun. Was this her type? Harry thought. Sheâs too young to have a type. Sheâs too young for all of thisâ
âDaddy, where are we going?â
Harry focused back on the road in front of him, making the proper turns that would take him to a more secluded parking lot of the international airport. Harry waited until he parked the car to answer Maeveâs question, helping Valen out of her car seat and resting her on his hip. âThe airport, peanut. We're going on our vacation, remember?â
Harry and Y/n didn't take the kids on proper vacations very often. It was hard for the whole family to be in one public place together without being noticed, and it was even harder now ever since the documentary came out and their family was brought into the limelight. People relentlessly tried to get pictures of Harry with any one of the kids, which only pushed them to go out even less or take even more extreme measures to ensure no one knew where they were.
But they all still deserved a vacation. Y/n and Harry researched and researched until they found the right placeâsomewhere remote enough that they could be left alone, but big enough to fit their family and had the facilities to ensure privacy. And somewhere fun. Everyone needed to have fun.
So they decided on a fancy island resort. There was plenty of activities for the kids, a big villa that accommodated their big family, and a spa for Y/n to relax. In a lot of ways, Harry wanted this to be the honeymoon he and Y/n never got to have. They would be strapped down with six, now seven, kids for most of the time, but they'd be watching them in a very nice resort.
Harry did another headcount when they got to the airport to make sure he had all of his kids and Daniel, then led them all to where a security guard was waiting to take escort them to the airport lounge where they would wait to take off, with Y/n rounding out the back so no one got left behind. As they came into the airport, in public where everyone could see them, Harry looked behind him for Julian, knowing he didnât love having so many sets of eyes on him. As was the side effect of being their father, all of the Styles children were used to or at least familiar with being photographed in public places or seeing large crowds of people in the most mundane of places. However, Jules was very shy and sometimes had a hard time with the shouting and the phones pointed in his direction.
Harry turned back with Geneva still in his arms to take Julianâs hand. At only four years old, Harry and Y/n tried to keep her and Natalia from having their picture taken the most. Theyâd done it with all of their children when they were babies, gradually letting them get used to all of the craziness. The documentary sped things up a bit, but outside of the kids' small appearances, Harry and Y/n made sure they were hardly seen in public. It was why Geneva was wearing her little knit hat with daisies on it, the brim wide enough to shield her face should anyone try to nab a picture of the four year old. Y/n pushed Natalia in a stroller with the hood extended low over her face so all one could really see was her little legs.
To Harryâs surprise, Jules was holding the hand of his oldest sister. It wasnât shocking that Simone was holding her little brotherâs hand in a situation like this, she often did so with one or two of her siblings when they went out together. But today she was with a friend, with Daniel. Harry figured she would want to just hang out with him, but there Jules was, laughing at something Simoneâs friend had said, not at all bothered by the people pointing their phones in their direction. Smiling, Harry reached out a hand for Maeve to take, and she happily obliged, Colette falling in line next to her.
When they finally got settled in the lounge, there was still a good amount of time before takeoff. The twins were on one side of him and Colette next to them, Simone and Daniel on his other side, and GiGi bouncing up and down in his lap. Julian and Maeve were off in their own little world again, only this time they took Colette with them as they played with a couple of the toys Harry packed for them in a backpack. Y/n was gone, having taken Natalia for one last bathroom trip before they boarded the plane
Trying to heed his wifeâs instructions, Harry did his best not to eavesdrop on Simone and Danielâs conversation, focusing on Geneva, who was more than happy to have all of her fatherâs attention. She squished his cheeks with her hands, pushing them up and down into various frowns and smiles.
Y/n came back just as Collette began to bicker with the twins. "Harry can you," she said, gesturing vaguely toward the three kids.
"Yep. On it."
By the time he settled the argument, it was time to board. The whole family was up and shuffling toward the gate, Harry leading everyone so he could hand over boarding passes to the woman waiting for them. "Have a wonderful flight, Mr. Styles," she said warmly, smiling at each child as they walked past.
Thankfully, they boarded before everyone else, which gave Y/n and Harry time to get all their kids settled in their seats. "Alright, change of plans. Maeve, sit with Collette, Jules you're withâ"
"Daddy!"
"O...Kay. JuJu's sitting with Daddy. Simone and Daniel, you'll sit across from me and Natalia. Daddy, you got Geneva?"
"Yep. Come here, peanut."
Snacks and iPads were passed out, and everyone was quietly waiting for takeoff. At first, Harry and Y/n used to feel bad about using technology to get their kids to quiet down, but now that they were six against two they did whatever they could.
"You have a wonderful family."
Harry was immediately on high alert. He was always hyper aware of strangers around his kids, but especially with Geneva and Natalia. They were so young, they didn't deserve strangers getting in their faces and all that.
But he supposed that having six kids, plus an extra, quietly entertaining themselves on a nonstop flight was something to be proud of. Looking up from where he'd been opening a pouch for Julian, Harry gave a close-lipped smile at the flight attendant who'd spoken. She looked about a few years older than Harry and Y/n, and if she recognized Harry, she didn't let on.
"Thank you. It's our first big vacation."
"That's so fun! It must be hard to travel with all these little ones on your own."
"Um..." Harry wasn't sure what the woman was insinuating. He looked across the aisle, but Y/n was completely occupied with Natalia. Her smile seemed sincere, though, so Harry just politely corrected her. "I'm married, actually."
"Oh! Sorry, I don't know why IâGosh," she stuttered, a blush on her cheeks. "Sorry. Well, um, can I get you anything?"
"Juice!" Geneva piped in from Harry's left.
Harry gave his daughter a look and said, "How do we ask for things nicely?"
"Can I have some juice please?"
The flight attendant smiled and promised to be back in a moment, then left their section.
"It must be so hard to travel with all these little ones on your own," Y/n said, raising the pitch of her voice. She was still looking at Natalia, but clearly, she'd heard the whole exchange.
"Oh hush. She was just being nice," Harry chided.
Harry never realized how exhausting vacations could be. Between swimming under the sun all day and keeping an eye on seven kids, he crashed on the bed each night completely wiped out. And even though Harry and Y/n were an entire floor above the kids, they could still hear the giggles as Simone, Collette, the twins, and Daniel stayed up past their bedtime playing games. It was fun, it really was, but it was no honeymoon.
He'd have about a thousand pictures by the end of it all, though.
"Daddy, I want a lemonade!"
"Gi, I just asked you if you wanted anything from the restaurant," Harry said, doing his best to give her a stern look.
They were having a relaxing day at the resort's pool. Yesterday they went on a boat and went all around the island, and before that was water sports, and the day before that wasâwell, today they were just relaxing. The hotel had reserved a cabana that was pretty well removed from the other ones, giving them a bit of privacy, though other guests had kept their distance for the most part.
âDad, we can take GiGi to get a lemonade. We wanted snacks anyway,â Simone said. At the word âsnacks,â both Geneva up, looking to their father for approval.
Harry wanted to say yes, but he didnât like any of his kids walking around on their own. At twelve, Simone and her friend were more than capable of going to the restaurant on the other side of the pool and coming right back, but there was always a chance of people following or coming up to her, and she thought the idea of walking around with a security guard was embarrassing, but it was usually the only way Harry and Y/n allowed her to go off on her own when they did things like this.
âErmâŠYouâd have to take Chris with you,â he finally said, nodding to the security guard who was currently sitting next to Natalia and seemed very interested in the water wings the youngest Styles was showing him. Chris was their family bodyguard and had become part of the family by this point. He was patient with the kids and played with them on occasion, but took his job seriously.
Simone didnât answer right away. She looked at Daniel first, a question in her eyes. Harry knew it couldnât be easy having to be tailed by a security guard all the time, especially when she seemed to already have a hard time making friends. So when Daniel just shrugged and said he didnât mind, Harry actually felt a little relieved and hoped that this friendship would stick. Perhaps Daniel was all right after all.
Fishing out cash from his wallet, Harry passed it off to Simone and told her to come straight back and hold GiGiâs hand the whole time. Simone looked like she wanted to roll her eyes at her fatherâs grave tone, but she refrained and took the money and her sisterâs hand. When they were gone, Harry sat back and sighed. His eyes flitted over the pool for a moment as he searched for his wife.
She was in the pool with Maeve and Julian, tossing them up and letting them splash in the shallower end. Harry cleared his throat and slipped on his sunglasses, trying not to stare too obviously.
Y/n wasn't even doing anything. But she just...she never failed to make his heart pound. And the swimsuit she wore wasn't helping. Her body had changed over the years, the same way his had, but he still thought she was the most beautiful woman he'd ever seen, and right now was no different.
Harry was debating joining his wife and kids in the pool or staying until Simone and the rest of his kids came back with Chris. But that decision was made for him when he saw her help the twins out of the pool.
"They put umbrellas in our drinks!"
Harry looked the other way and saw Geneva with a kids cup in her hand, a small cocktail umbrella sticking out of it. Simone and Daniel had their own drinks, and funnily enough, Chris had two.
"I want one!"
"Me too!"
Before Harry could say anything, Chris handed the two drinks over to the twins, who had walked up to the cabana with Y/n. Harry stood up and offered his spot up so all the kids could sit with their drinks without the risk of spilling them. He went over to Y/n, careful not to put his hands on her in front of the kids.
"You were staring," she murmured.
"Was not."
"You were."
Harry leaned forward and kissed the back of her head. "You would've had to be staring at me to notice."
"Mom, can Daniel and I go to the kids club? They have a ping pong table, and we wanted to play."
At the mention of the kids club, Simone's siblings voiced their desire to go too, but Harry could see the look on his oldest daughter's face. She'd been really great about hanging out with her younger siblings, but she deserved to play on her own with her friend.
"Sure, bug. Do you have your phone?"
Simone nodded, then squeezed Harry tight before running off with Daniel. His heart clenched as they left, but there were five other kids all vying for his attention. "Let's go to the water slide, shall we?"
Cheers went around the cabana. As they were all putting their cups down, Y/n came up behind Harry and squeezed his hand. "That was nice of you."
"Chris will check on them in a few minutes," was all he said.
"You're a good dad," she said, pinching his hip affectionately.
"You think so?"
"The best. "I wish we could sneak away so you could be the best husband for a little bit," she mumbled, kissing his bare shoulder.
"We'll have our moment," Harry assured.
"It would be even harder with another baby, you know that right?"
"Mm. We've always managed."
Y/n didn't say anything in reply, but Harry couldn't tell if it was because she didn't have an answer or because Geneva was poking her leg to get her attention.
"Can we go now?"
Conversation cut short, Harry and Y/n took the hands of their little ones and walked toward the waterslide.
"I'm so tired."
"I know."
"And sunburned."
"I know."
"It literally hurts to have my eyes open. IâWhat are you doing?"
"Shh," Y/n said, her legs on either side of Harry's lower back. "I don't have massage oil or candles, but I have aloe vera. Let me help you."
Harry couldn't have protested even if he wanted to. They'd spent the entire day at the beach, rounding the evening out with a quiet dinner courtesy of room service. All the kids were fast asleep, practically dead to the world, as soon as their pajamas were on, a first since they arrived a few days ago.
Mumbling some kind of assent, he let Y/n give him a massage. The aloe vera was cold on his back, her hands gentle but thorough as she rubbed in the gel and worked on the muscles in his shoulders and worked her way down. Harry groaned, sinking deeper into the bed as she began to apply more pressure.
"You've been such a good Daddy to the kids all week, hm?" she murmured in his ear, thumbs pressing into the muscles in his shoulders. "Planned this whole trip for us, work so hard so we can go to beautiful places like this, been so patient. Thought you deserved something nice."
It wasn't uncommon for Y/n to call Harry "daddy." When they were around the kids, they referred to each other almost exclusively as "mom" or "dad" or something to that effect. They were parents, it was part of their identity, and it certainly wasn't out of the ordinary. Daddy wasn't something that was inherently sexual to them, not when it was a word their children used regularly.
Though the gentle lilt of Y/n's voice and her hands on his back definitely had him turning his head to the side to peek an eye at her.
"Yeah?"
She nodded, still working out all the knots in his back. "Mmhm. So close your eyes. I'm gonna paint a nice picture for us."
Harry did as she said, focusing on her hands and voice.
"Imagine we're...twenty-two years old," Y/n said. "And...we just came back from the courthouse. The boys have finally left us alone for the evening."
The night they got married. They had to sneak out of their hotel rooms to do it, but Harry would do it all again in a heartbeat. "Mm. That was a good night."
"Yep. But this time, instead of putting Simone down and going to bed, we're packing for a trip. Our honeymoon. You planned the whole thing. Your mom agreed to watch Simone for a few days, there happened to be a break in the tour, and everything just fell into place so we could celebrate. Just you and me."
Y/n knew what Harry wanted this trip to be for them. She knew he always felt guilty about the finer details of their marriage. There was just never enough time for a proper honeymoon, and by the time there was, Y/n was pregnant with Collette. There were moments on the trip where they tried to slip away, but it just wasn't possible. Harry and Y/n were more than happy to spend time with their children, but a moment alone wouldn't have hurt, either.
"So we come to this beautiful resort," she continued, working her way along the broad expanse of Harry's back. "We drink too much champagne and sleep in too late because no one is jumping on the bed before sunrise. We kiss by the infinity pool and on the balcony and on top of a mountain after we've hiked to the top."
"Just kiss?"
"Easy. I'm getting to that. Where was I?"
"The top of a mountain."
"Right. And we make love everywhere. In the infinity pool, on the balcony, in that huge hot tub in our bathroom. For those few days, we don't care about getting caught or what people will see or think or say. We're so happy to finally be married, that the only thing that matters is us," Y/n said, leaving a kiss on the back of his neck, her teeth grazing the shell of his ear. "Flip over, baby."
Harry did as she asked, grinning when his eyes landed on her. Y/n normally wore a t-shirt and shorts to bed, but tonight she was in sheer pink, her breasts practically spilling out of the flimsy material, her hair framing her shoulders. She'd changed a lot over the years, and yet she was exactly the same. She still made him feel the same way she always had.
"We're not twenty-two anymore," he said.
"No, we're not," Y/n agreed. "But I still love you."
"I love you too, Mama."
Y/n leaned down and kissed him then, her body flush against Harry's as his leg slotted between hers. Their lips were chapped from spending the last few days in the sun, but that didn't stop either of them from getting more and more intense. Harry's tongue slipped into Y/n's mouth with ease, his hands rucking up her little pink blouse insistently. She lifted her hips to get her underwear off when his hands ventured there next but was quick to slide back against him, a smile forming on her lips when he groaned.
"I'm not feeling so tired anymore," Harry breathed, one hand dipping between her legs.
They could've been quick. After being together for so long, they knew what made the other get to the finish line faster, and had perfected it when free time came in brief, spontaneous moments. But Harry didn't want quick. All the kids were fast asleep, and he didn't think any of them would be waking up for a long time after the day they had. He wanted to take his time, and it seemed Y/n did too.
"Good. For a second there I thought you were an old man at the ripe age of thirty-one."
"You're gonna regret saying that in a minute."
Harry flipped his wife over so that he was hovering over her. Y/n's grin was full of mischief as she looked him over, her gaze fixated below his waist. She loved the moments where she could just admire her husband, and this trip had been full of them. So often she was stuck in full-mom-mode that she didn't appreciate how Harry still looked like he was cut from marble. His tattoos were faded with time, but they stuck out against his newly-tanned skin, there was a little more meat on his hips than when they were kids, but Y/n honestly loved him that way more. She loved his muscly thighs and broad back and his pointed nose and high cheekbones. She loved the smile lines by his eyes and the way his stomach jutted out just a little despite the muscle. She loved the soft parts and the hard planes. She knew every detail, every secret his body held. There was not one thing she didn't know about her husband or his body, and she was in love with every inch.
Y/n had been patient, she'd been a good mom this whole trip by not dragging Harry by the drawstring of his swim trunks and leaving Chris to watch the kids for an hour, she'd waited and waited for the right moment, for this moment. A few minutes ago, she could tell Harry was in the "make love" kind of mood, but she did away with that with a few choice words. She was usually all for it, but right now she really wanted a reason for them to be exhausted. Now, all she had to do was seal the deal.
Hooking a finger around his necklace and gripping him a little tightly between her fingers, she said, "Do your worst."
"Okay. It's our last night on vacation. What was everyone's favorite part?" Harry asked from his seat at the dinner table. "Maevie, you go first."
They were having one last dinner at the resort's outdoor restaurant. Their table was on a raised deck that stood in a shallow pool. The bottom of the pool was lit, making the water a blue-green color. There were lanterns in the palm trees, a warm breeze fluttering the leaves. Everyone was in varying states of tanned and sunburnedâpeeled noses, harsh tan lines, red shoulders and cheeks. The whole family plus Daniel were tired from days spent running around and swimming under relentless sunlight, but they were happy too. Content to go home tomorrow knowing that everything that could be done had been.
"I liked seeing the dolphins," Maeve said.
Each person at the table said their favorite moment or activity. From the hotel water slide to going tubing behind a speedboat to a whole day dedicated to shopping, all the kids enjoyed something different from the vacation.
"I liked when we took the Jeeps all over the mountains and Mrs. Styles drove really fast!" Daniel said.
Y/n smirked at Harry from across the dinner table as she cut up Geneva's food. He always had something to say about her drivingâthat she was too fast, that she drove like she was in a hurry when there was no reason to, and so on. Whether that was true or not, Y/n got to put her driving skills to the test with one of their activities. She took Simone, Daniel, and Collette in her car while Harry took the younger kids, and raced over the dirt path with them. It was bumpy, dusty, and full of sharp turns, but she and the older kids had a blast.
"You know, Daniel, I can't help but agree," Y/n said.
"What was your favorite part, Dad?" Simone asked.
"I think..." he said, taking his time to answer the question. "I think just getting to spend time with all of you was my favorite part."
"That doesn't count!"
"We all had to say something!"
"Boo!"
"Yeah, boo!"
"Y/n, really?"
Y/n shrugged when Harry looked over at her exasperatedly. He knew he gave a lame, sappy answer, but it was the truth. He knew his kids would give him grief about it, but he didn't expect his own wife to boo at him.
The night ended with one final walk on the beach. The kids all skipped ahead of Harry and Y/n, who were content to trail behind them and hold hands.
"We did it," Y/n said, twining her arm around her husband's.
"We did. With no trips to the local hospital, either."
"And," she added. "Daniel was a sweetheart. I think the twins are more trouble than he is."
Harry didn't want to be okay with Daniel when the idea of him joining the family on vacation was first proposed, but he couldn't help but agree with Y/n. He was nice, and hung out with all the kids, not just Simone.
"They're gonna give us hell when they're older aren't they?" he asked, referring to Maeve and Julian, who were currently wrestling in the sand.
"Definitely." They walked a few paces in silence while Y/n rested her cheek on Harry's shoulder. He was a linen shirt that was incredibly soft, and she would definitely be wearing it to sleep tonight. Then, as they got further down the beach, she said, "You were right, you know."
"About what?"
"Spending time with all our little monkeys," she said. "I'm glad we could give this to them. A trip with the whole family that's not just traveling with you on tour, you know?"
"I do," Harry agreed, kissing the top of her head. "I think I might have to give Chris a huge Christmas bonus, though."
Y/n chuckled. "He had fun too."
More silence, more walking and listening to the kids laugh and play by the shore. Then, "Our little monkeys aren't so little anymore."
"No, they're not," Y/n said. "But when they can play together far away, I can do this."
She stopped Harry in his tracks and tipped his head down to kiss him. His lips were light against hers, careful not to get too carried away. But it was nice to kiss out in the open, something neither of them would've ever thought was possible a few years ago. Their lives were so different now.
Harry kissed her a couple more times, his thumb tracing delicate patterns on the small strip of skin where Y/n's knitted sweater didn't quite meet her shorts. She looked and felt so cozy. All he wanted to do was get their kids up to bed andâ
"Eeeew!" someone shrieked, it was too dark to tell which one of their kids said it. "No kissing!"
Y/n pulled back, but Harry held her close still. "What? You mean like this?" he asked before nuzzling his wife's cheek.
That got everyone going. Simone claimed Harry and Y/n were embarrassing her, Collette told them to stop because kissing was gross, and Maeve and Julian went straight for the tackle, going for Harry's legs until he playfully fell over. Once he was down, Natalia and Geneva joined their brother and sister.
If someone had told a twenty-two-year-old Harry that not only did he have six happy and healthy kids with the love of his life, but that he could hold his wife's hand and kiss her on the beach and play-wrestle with his kids without worrying who might see, he wouldn't have believed them. Hell, he wouldn't have believed them just a few years ago. But things were different now, things were good. Perfect, some might say.
And Harry definitely had to remind himself of that when one of his kids accidentally had him inhaling a mouthful of sand.
