No fraudulent purchases
Fraud; Deceit; Trickery, An Imposter, a Cheat. To put it lightly, not a nice person.  If you’ve ever been a victim of fraud, you’re not alone. I had my bank account emptied right before Christmas one year when my daughter was little- I eventually got it back, but if it wasn’t for my mom still being around to lend me the money while I waited, I would have had to explain to my 5-year-old daughter…

Nochargebacks.ca provides an online gateway or payment gateway, giving you and your customers peace of mind. With a nochargebacks.ca payment gateway, your clientele can spend money on their credit cards all around the world, and you receive payment within hours instead of having to wait 6 to 8 weeks to see reimbursement in your account.
With nochargebacks.ca, there is no more worrying about fraudulent purchases or having to refund your customers.
The only way a chargeback happens is if the customer doesn’t receive their merchandise following online payment. And, with the additional security in place, this almost never happens.
Why choose an Online Gateway with fraud protection
Online gateways have a number of benefits, but the greatest one is that, because of the fraud protection, the rates are cheaper. When both banks and merchants are saved the hassle of having customers call to complain that someone used their card to order a ten thousand dollar watch, they are happier.
Choose nochargebacks.ca. Better rates for you and your company, and better statistics next year from the Canadian Anti-Fraud Center!

Additionally complain to your bank/credit card company. Tell them you've tried to get the merchant/vendor to stop and they wont.
The credit card/bank will then cancel on their end and basically tell the merchant to pound sand. Do it enough often enough and the rates get raised on the merchant or even the relationship can be ended.
On your end, that card wont be able to used and/or your account might be banned but if you're trying to sever that relationship anyways? What do you care.
Hey. Don't fucking use Shutterstock.
So. I'm in deep shit because Shutterstock has no cancel plan button. Let me explain. Long story short, tried a free trial and tried to cancel after the free month was over. I called, they helped me cancel my account.
And then I got charged. Again.
So I call again. I think it gets cancelled again.
And then I get charged again. And I call again, get it cancelled. Repeat.
Keep in mind, I'm a fucking college student. I don't have much money to begin with. At all. My only money is for testosterone, groceries, and emergencies, and OCCASIONALLY one nice thing every like. 3 or 4 months.
So I email them, after continuously trying to get ahold of them for 8. Months.
And I get this.
Tumblr media
Read that closer, folks.
Tumblr media
They're charging me for the months worth of trying to cancel, thinking it was fine, and then trying to cancel again, only to be lied to.
Don't use this shit. I thought I was getting a free trials and then was gonna cancel, and instead I've had money charged every 3 months, and then told I have to pay 160 dollars for the shit I already paid for.
I know this ain't yelp but like. Fuck this bullshit.

So. Basingstoke Comic Con.
This is going to be a rant. I'm German, so I have a PhD in a) complaining and b) being blunt. Perfect combination for this post. It's going to be long, so buckle up.
I give explicit permission to repost, reblog, screenshot and post to other websites, comment, tag, and add to this in any way you see fit. Feel free to write your own experiences and criticism.
It's a modified version of the feedback email I sent them. Since then, they have put out a statement which directly contradicts some of the stuff other people have told us (and have evidence for) and which blames everyone from attendees to guests to staff to the weather.
First of all, despite all the mess with the actual con, I had a ton of fun. I hadn't seen some of these people in 20 years. I hadn't met some of y'all before, and I talked to so many people this weekend. I don't regret a single meeting, hug, smile, or laugh. I do wish however for the organizers to step on legos for the rest of their lives.
Frankly, they had a huge business opportunity and they blew it. They could have established themselves as THE Stargate convention in Europe. People were taking 15-hour flights to be there. We were willing to spend hundreds, in some cases thousands of pounds. With that lineup, they blew every other current convention out of the water. If they had done this right, this would have been a huge success and an absolute no-brainer for years to come. They could have been one of those cons that sell out in minutes.
Instead, they let greed and poor organization guide them. They severely underestimated the size of the Stargate fandom. They didn't bother to learn about what the fans wanted and who the guests actually were.
A few things stood out for me:
Health and safety at the venue. No a/c, running heaters (!!) in some rooms, not enough opportunities to get water, way too many people for this size hotel. We are lucky there wasn't a panic or more severe injuries. Crowd control was non existent.
An impossible, ever-changing schedule. You can't put talks back to back, or meet&greets, or photo ops. Everybody knows you will run overtime and then the whole thing collapses. Changes were not communicated. Nobody knew what was going on.
Poorly trained staff. No staff meetings beforehand. Staff had no way to communicate with each other. Seriously, give them radios! Some of them didn't now the names of the guests or in which autograph group they were.
People could not get the things they paid for. Out of all the autographs included in my pass, I only got one, and only because a friend got it for me. [Marion, you're a fucking rockstar] I don't even want to know how many people will be attempting chargebacks on their credit cards in the coming days.
And the most important thing, the one that makes everyone I talked to the angriest: The way they treated the guests was appalling. They are such generous, hard-working people, and BCC shamelessly took advantage of that. Richard Dean Anderson was signing until after 1 am. A 74-year-old man who just wants to make his fans happy.
[BCC are now saying they were told he was a „slow signer“, aka someone who actually takes their time by talking to fans when signing autographs. Oh really? Then why did you continue to sell autographs well into Sunday when it was clear that there was no way he could get through them all in a reasonable time??]
David Blue was setting up his own autograph table. Several Atlantis actors went and got more of their headshots (by taking pictures in the photo room and printing them) because they ran out. Joe Flanigan tried to bring some order to the chaos more than once. He went full John Sheppard in the photo op room and took charge. We are lucky they're such sweet souls and didn't raise hell then and there. Nobody would have blamed them.
Staff were amazing and tried to make the best with what little support they were given. Kathleen, Finn and Nick (with the Stick!) especially, and so many others whose names I sadly didn't get. They worked so hard, never lost their humor, and tried to help as much as they could.
This disaster is entirely on management. It's a failure of leadership and an example of what not to do when you're running an event.
If you want to put on a convention, you need to go to people who have experience and listen to them. You need to attend several cons before even thinking about doing one yourself. And before, during and after, you need to take care of your people. You need to take care of your staff, of your guests, of the fans. You need to adjust the size of the event to the size of the venue, or vice versa. You need to actually be interested in this event beyond the money it will earn you. You need to know when you bit off more than you can chew.
I'm not hoping for a better one next year, because all of us said we won't be back. What I do hope is that hey sincerely apologize to the guests and at least double what money was raised for charity.

I have to ask. How come Western Culture is so appalled with erotic stuff? For today. Because I’ve been seeing so many people being so… puritan lately.
It's a misplacement of blame.
People are, admittedly, scared shitless about current developments in the U.S. and the UK. However, rather than actually examine the legitimate backing causes for these developments (the widespread encouragement of ignorance, bodily-autonomy being interpreted by some groups as 'selfish', and certain groups insisting that an increased acknowledgement of the LGBTA population is a slippery slope for pedophilia and sin), it's easier to go for an easier target.
Hence the backlash against Erotica and 18+ content.
'Oh, my abuser used porn to coerce me! It's obviously the porn that's the issue!' Yes, and some of us were groomed with toys and video games, should we nuke those industries too?
'Porn is the leading cause in abuse towards women!' Okay, even if that was true -- which it isn't -- what about the erotica that... doesn't involve women whatsoever?
'Young people who are exposed to porn get their brains warped and think that that's what sex is in real life~!' Isn't that more a problem stemming from a lack of unbiased/unimposed sexual-education programs in American schools?
'If people see something in erotic material, they'll think it's okay to try in real life~!' Go watch Quills.
'Women and teenage girls shouldn't be exposing their delicate minds to such filth!' Okay, ignoring the fact that teenagers shouldn't be in adult spaces anyway, wow you just... said the quiet part out loud, there, didn't you?
'If 18+ material wasn't so dangerous, why would the big credit card companies want to ban it~?' The core reason why credit card companies claim to be against 18+ content is because 'Adult Content has a higher rate of chargebacks than other purchases'. It has nothing to do with dangers and, really, I'm certain that the numbers don't eve add up so, in reality, it's the big credit card companies trying to be authoritarian and police the private lives of grown people.
Something that everyone should be against but, you know... Porn is 'icky' so actions like these are seen as 'based' for certain camps.

Deep dive to Spam bots on Tumblr (Spoiler: FSB mentioned)
(TL;DR: Russian business man is heavily investing into companies behind the bots, mentions of FSB, Shell companies in tax-evasion and weak business law countries, Huge industry and money laundering)
I got annoyed about the bots on tumblr, so I decided to do some investigation into who is behind them and funding the operation, here is my findings:
Tumblr media
The graph shows how a network of “affiliate marketing” companies for “dating” services is connected and some of the key players behind said companies
Tumblr media
The first “company” I ran into is called “Digital international Inc” and it is shown as the “legal entity” behind of many of the websites the bots tend to link to, it also has its address listed in the Marshall Islands.
By looking at trademarks owned/filed by that company, we find 2 more companies/trademarks that are/were owned by the same legal entity.
First of these is called “Mirelia Services Co.”, currently known as “Mirelia Networks”, which lists its main business as “advertising and marketing” and is registered at the same address as “Digital International”.
Tumblr media
Where things get interesting is when we look at one of the trademarks that was passed between “Mirelia” and “Digital international”, a trademark for an LGBTQ+ dating app called “Hitwe”,
The trademark application for “Hitwe” is listed as “Rescinded/canceled” but from the original registration documents and later ownership transfer filings, we come across an interesting company
Tumblr media
“Matar Trade & Invest Ltd.” This company has other similar “dating” and “marketing” companies linked to it, and is owned by “Vladimir Mnogoletniy”, a Citizen of Russia, who has lived in Ukraine for over 10 years and his runs his businesses there, but interestingly does not seem to have officially moved there, and maintains his Russian Citizenship as his only one.
He is also the CEO or a major of many other companies, the main one being “Genesis”, the company behind a controversial fitness app “BetterMe”, which has been shown to aggressively sell user data to less-than-reputable ad companies and affiliates, as well as being used to redirect money from scam dating sites and lessen the impact of credit card chargebacks from those sites [See footnote 1]
Tumblr media
What makes him a particularly interesting individual is that his father, who is a Captain of the Second Rank in the Russian Navy, is doing security work for “Sevmash” - A Russian shipbuilding company, the only one that is making nuclear submarines in Russia. He also co-authored a research paper that talks about “Military Counterintelligence activities”, The other author of said paper is an FSB officer.[See footnote 2]
Sources and footnotes:
Footnote 1: “BetterMe steals traffic”  - Article by SH[IT]HAPPENS on Medium Footnote 2: “Why don’t I no longer shake hands with Vladimir Mnogoletniy.“ - Article by SH[IT]HAPPENS on Medium
Tangent: one of the other companies that I came across that seems to be working with Mirelia is “Traffichunt”, which seems to be one of the companies selling bot spam advertisements as well.
Tumblr media
Another interesting thing is that the lawyer who filed for most of the trademarks, has quite a repertoire of similar trademarks under his belt:
Tumblr media
Most of these seem to have been rejected because the address he listed in the applications does not exist
If you read all the way to here, thank you and I hope that bot’s never bother you again.

I'm in the process of getting married. I bought a wedding dress online. It had this whimsical and flowery aspect, with green vines going up the dress, that I loved.
Anyway, I got the dress, and it looks like this gaudy mess with hot-glued flowers on—nothing like the original photo. Honestly, if the flowers were removed, the dress would be cute.
What I wanted vs. what I got.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My friend and I tried to go to the tailor to see if I was somehow salvageable because there were parts I still liked about it. The tailor looked at it and said, no, I wouldn't even try for my daughter and shoved the dress in the trashbag I was carrying it in. So that's where the dress shall stay for now. In the trash.
That's what I get when ordering online. I'm getting a chargeback on my credit card because this is ridiculous.

Unlocking Opportunities with Credit Repair Merchant Processing Accepting credit cards remains a foundational step for businesses aiming to broaden their customer base. The convenience and trust associated with credit card payments can significantly influence your sales. However, for companies immersed in credit repair services, delving into credit card processing can pose challenges due to the perceived high risk tied to the industry. Fortunately, specialized merchant accounts and merchant processing solutions exist to serve high-risk businesses like credit repair companies. These tailored services are crafted to navigate the intricacies and risks linked to the industry, providing a secure and dependable means of processing payments.
A key advantage of incorporating credit card processing into your credit repair business is the boost in trust and credibility it brings. Customers inherently trust businesses that accept credit cards more than those with limited payment options. Displaying logos of accepted credit cards on your website or in your physical store signals to potential clients that you are a legitimate and established entity. Furthermore, credit card payments come with built-in security measures, safeguarding both you and your clients from fraudulent activities. With secure transactions in place, your customers can rest assured that their sensitive information is in safe hands, enhancing their confidence in your services.
High-Risk Merchant Processing: The Key to Success For credit repair businesses, high-risk merchant processing is not merely an option; it's a necessity. Conventional payment processors may hesitate to engage with your industry due to potential chargebacks and legal complexities. However, high-risk payment processing providers are well-equipped to tackle these challenges. Partnering with a high-risk payment processing provider grants access to a high-risk payment gateway designed to securely handle credit card transactions. This opens up doors to a broader customer base, enabling you to accept credit cards for your credit repair services.
When you partner with a high-risk payment processing provider, you're not just securing a solution; you're gaining a strategic advantage. These providers comprehend the nuances of the credit repair industry and have devised tailored approaches to minimize risks while maximizing potential. This partnership provides access to a state-of-the-art high-risk payment gateway, fortified against fraudulent activities and engineered to securely handle credit card transactions.
E-commerce Payment Processing: Your Online Advantage In today's digital era, an online presence is imperative for businesses of all types, including credit repair services. E-commerce is the way forward, and having a reliable e-commerce payment processing solution is vital. This allows you to accept credit card payments for your services online, reaching a global audience. With an e-commerce gateway and e-commerce merchant account, you can seamlessly integrate credit card payments into your website. Customers can pay for your credit repair services with ease, enhancing your online visibility and credibility.
In addition to reaching a global audience, embracing e-commerce enables credit repair businesses to diversify their offerings. By integrating an e-commerce payment processing solution, you can not only accept credit card payments for your core services but also explore new avenues. Consider offering informative e-books, credit management tools, or subscription-based services. The flexibility of e-commerce opens up countless possibilities, allowing you to cater to a broader spectrum of customers while maintaining the convenience of online payments. This diversification can significantly boost your revenue streams and solidify your position in the credit repair industry.
youtube
Credit Repair Merchant Processing and CBD Due to the stigma and regulatory complexities surrounding CBD, it's considered high-risk by many payment processors. Nevertheless, the potential for success in this industry is undeniable. CBD businesses can benefit greatly from specialized high-risk payment processing solutions. Just like in credit repair, the ability to accept credit card payments is a game-changer for CBD companies. Customers are more likely to make purchases when they can use their credit cards, and this convenience can significantly boost sales. Furthermore, having a secure payment processing system and a dependable payment gateway is crucial for maintaining trust and ensuring smooth transactions in the CBD market.
In this challenging landscape, CBD businesses can turn to specialized CBD merchant processing services to navigate these complexities effectively. These services are tailored to the unique needs of the CBD industry, providing the infrastructure required to accept credit card payments, process transactions securely, and offer customers a reliable payment gateway.
The world of credit repair can be highly rewarding, but it comes with its unique challenges. Embracing credit repair merchant processing and high-risk payment processing can unlock the true potential of your business. By accepting credit card payments, especially through e-commerce, you can expand your reach, gain customer trust, and ultimately fuel the growth of your credit repair business. In the ever-evolving landscape of online commerce, businesses need reliable partners. Accept-Credit-Cards-Now Merchant Processing services are here to support you on your journey to success. Whether you're in credit repair or CBD, these services provide the tools you need to thrive in the digital age. With the right payment processing solutions in place, your credit repair business can soar to new heights. Don't let the challenges of the industry hold you back. Embrace the power of credit repair merchant processing and watch your business grow.

so there's a whole twitter saga about some restauranteur in Boston tracking down a customer who did a credit card chargeback for a 250$ cancellation fee at her restaurant
and it's riveting and all (posting a customer's full email and last 4 cc numbers on instagram! deleting all negative reviews! alleged insurance fraud!) but the most charming thing about it to me is
the guy signs off one of his correspondence to the unhinged restauranteur with "i hope you have the day you deserve", which people on twitter and reddit are EATING UP
when that is simply, to me, regular tumblr parlance?????

copywriting my meme bc im at work and i can't make it yet:
- sites ban porn because they're greedy corporations
- sites ban porn because of government moral pressure
- sites ban porn because payment processors are greedy corporations that don't want to deal with the extremely high volume of chargebacks
- sites ban porn because government regulation means that in much of the world credit card transactions are reversible by the consumer

Ya wanna hear how much I hate Lowes?
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
I have had a horrible time dealing wizh Lowes.
I purchased a dishwasher early August.
It arrived at za store a week later. Zhey called and scheduled my installation for a week after zhat.
Install guy comes, sees za new dishwasher is damaged, says someone will call me in 24 to 72 hours, and leaves.
Nobody called me for over two weeks.
I get a call. For some reason, zhey skip my ringer and go to voicemail. Dishwasher update - new unit is on za way. Two days later, same zhing - skip my ringer. Voicemail says it arrived, but za delivery guy needs to return za damaged unit first.
Huh?
And she'll call za following Monday.
No phone call. Just an email canceling my whole order, and reordering za same dishwasher, but no delivery/installation, etc.
And no explanation.
And za email says za dishwasher will be ready for pickup za following week.
So I call za delivery line. Tell her everyzhing I just wrote. She says she'll pass on zhis info to zhat store and ask what's up. "They cancelled your order, rebilled you for the dishwasher unit, but must have forgot to rebill you for the delivery/installation."
Ya, no shit, lady!!!
But ozherwise, she is unsure what's going on. She says she will ask and call me in two days wizh an update.
Two days later, nozhing.
So I said "fek it" and canceled my order.
I ordered from another company za following Saturday and got my new dishwasher zhat Tuesday.
Zhat Monday, got a call, skipped za ringer, went to voicemail. Lowes delivery letting me know I have been refunded for za delivery/installation fee.
Good.
A week later, I get an email zhat zhere will be a delivery from Lowes zhat day.
Wut.
I check and see I have not been refunded for za dishwasher.
Za email says za dishwasher will be delivered.
HUH???
I try to stop za delivery but it's all "too late, lol. And if you wanna return it, gotta do it in store."
So I put signs on my door and mailbox saying I refuse zhis order. And go to work.
Come home, no dishwasher. Just an envelope. I check my email and za order email no longer says it was a dishwasher, but a store card.
Huh?
I open za envelope and is a latter from Lowes and a little gift card attached.
"In lieu of a refund, please accept this store credit."
Zhey don't wanna refund me, but give me over 300 bucks worzh of store credit.
So I email zheir customer service.
I do my best White Lady Email and tell zhem everyzhing I just wrote.
I eventually get an email back, apologizing for my experience, and zhey will contact leadership at my local store to see what zhey can do, and to expect a response in 24 hours.
It has been a week, yall. And radio silence.
Zhis saga started at za beginning of August. It's October 2nd.
Don't buy appliances from Lowes.
Shout out to PC Richard and Sons for actually doing zheir damn job, not just in a timely manner, but wizh plenty of communication and clear instructions.
Zhis saga ain't over yet, and I still have options, so I don't need advice. Zhere are reasonable zhings I haven't yet tried, like doing a chargeback via P@yPal or going to my local store in person or calling customer service on za phone.
But my point is zhat zhis whole zhing is ridiculous and stupid and annoying and I am just fucking perplexed at za incompetence of zhis company.
Fuck Lowes.

The people complaining about SOOM not using PayPal anymore need to realize how much of a hassle PayPal is to use as a seller vs a buyer, and the fact that SOOM is doing this BECAUSE due to people abusing the PayPal claim system against them highlights how much of a problem PayPal can be.
Sellers, especially makers and doll artists in this community, often get screwed over the abuse the system because of how often PayPal sides with the buyer vs the seller, and for a hobby that relies on pre-orders that lasts months for items that are hundreds and thousands of dollars, selling with PayPal can be extremely risky, even I have had issues with the PayPal claim system when I lost a PayPal case for not shipping fast enough, and the buyer ended up with their money back and my stuff for free. And before you say “people can still do a chargeback with a credit card” yeah they can, but some banks see the chargeback claims as a unauthorized charge claim and will block your card or disable it completely, so that one card that you may use for all your bills or whatever is unusable until you get your a new card, so no it’s not the same as a PayPal claim especially when the buyer risks not having a usable card in the process.
As well as PayPals high fees for non-US sellers and that PayPal also sometimes randomly withhold funds even from accounts that have been active for years, it doesn’t surprise me in the slightest SOOM isn’t using PayPal anymore, especially when they also had people in the community abusing their layaway plans where people were taking over a year to pay off multiple dolls from SOOM. So if you want to be mad at anyone, be mad at the people who pushed them to get to this point because I know it isn’t an easy decision to disable a very commonly payment platform.
