i think you can find therapy-speak aesthetically distasteful- i don't really care, but im not really the kind of guy to get really bent out of shape over shit that doesn't matter. if you are, then whatever. there does however seem to be a somewhat pervasive idea that there are real shifts in society straightforwardly along the lines of therapy-speak. and i mean. how would you even come to believe this is happening? listen for 3 minutes to anyone complaining about social drama (1.5 minutes for a gay guy, 30 seconds for a lesbian but only talking about exes) and i promise you'll be relieved to find that people are exactly as insane as they've always been. like this is not a take which can survive contact with the real world in any way whatsoever. uncharitably, it is a take which survives and thrives on a diet of posts taken completely at their word. maybe log off of twitter and form some actual relationships before writing that 140 character op-ed about how no one forms actual relationships. or god forbid a substack post

I personally would use multiple of these, but I'm curious as to the default assumption because a tourist I gave directions to told me I was wrong to phrase it that way

its a blunt instrument for a local dev environment but man docker really is the final word. sometimes you're angry enough at people who wrote python 10 years ago that you want a big club anyway

its definitely related to the nipple but nipples are pointy! the most kiki part of the boob
tits is such a backwards term for breasts. its kiki, and boobs are the most bouba part of the human body. its like calling a hawk a wubby

i really like verisimilitude in books, and find it detracts from visual art. other people seem to prefer the reverse. this is because their minds are feeble

there are in fact people who will write extremely good novels with absolutely no appreciation from the publishing industry. at least one of them is my treasured mutual. but its obviously desirable to enable more like. skilled-writing-hours. which is tough if all writing is done by part-timers. you don't need to believe that publishing a book someone else wrote is theft, sometimes we want to encourage certain desirable outcomes
many criticisms of copyright along the lines that making money on intellectual property requires capital, and artists get screwed anyhow. very silly! theres more than one firm with the necessary capital. copyright means there's an advantage to being the one who actually shells out for it. otherwise you're just gonna wait until someone else publishes a (for instance) book and fire up the presses yourself. which is obviously not, in equilibrium, a situation which leads to these firms funding a small caste of "creatives" who spend all their time making shit. really you just want to pirate shit, which is fine i pirate shit, but lets not fool ourselves

any day now someone is going to apply the sacred wisdom of the ancients to modern astronomy and we'll finally get telescopes good enough to pick up evidence of a background pneuma. meanwhile the immortal science of cybernetics will conclusively demonstrate the inherent beauty and order of the cosmos can be explained without reaching for soul
are you a soul guy or a spirit guy?
its hard to pin anything down about what is meant by soul and spirit. from text to text you sometimes find their meanings conflated, or even reversed. some common threads are that the soul is indivisible, eternal, unchanging, nonphysical, and concentrated, and spirit is fleeting, fluid, and physical (perhaps literally made of fire and air). im a simple reductionist man, and i respect the intellectual honesty it takes to say that an intangible soul needs some (still invisible) physical medium to interact with a physical world. spirit all the way
