"Not again," Dalton Castle whispered to himself as he laid looking up at the ceiling of the hotel room, "please God, not again..."

It had been almost seven years since the match in which Dalton had first injured his back. He didn't blame anyone for this injury, how could he? It was a cumulation of opponents and his own hubris. Had he realized something was wrong early on, maybe he could have stopped it from getting as bad as it had, but he was champion. For the first time in his career, he had been Ring of Honor Champion and no one could take that away from him.

The only person who could ruin it was himself.

His career had not been where he wanted it to be lately. The loss of his chance to be Ring of Honor Television champion at the hands of Johnny ROH or Johnny Honor or whatever he was calling himself at Final Battle had started that downfall. It had broken his heart to know that the one championship he had worked for was stolen from him by someone who simply didn't care. The loss had shaken Dalton to his core.

It was supposed to change the night before at World's End.

Before the actual show, there had been a twenty, or was it nineteen including Luchasaurus, man battle royal. Dalton had entered with the intention on making the prize, a contract for a match for the TNT Championship, his own. There was a hope that he had lost in his eyes once again. There had been that hope up until his husband, his Dakota, had swiftly eliminated him from the match.

The same Dakota who was now coming back into the hotel room as Dalton laid in bed, unable to get up.

"Being a lazy bones today, birdie?" Dakota tried to gently ask as he sat the Starbucks he had brought back for the both of them on the nightstand. When Dalton didn't answer, Dakota pursed his lips and put a hand on his hip, "You're still not talking to me?"

"I can't get up," Dalton's voice was an almost hoarse whisper.

"Can't or won't birdie? C'mon. I got cake pops for breakfast," Dakota jiggled the bad before setting it down alongside the drinks of the nightstand.

"C...can't," Dalton answered, eyes still on the ceiling, "my back spasmed and I..."

Dakota swiftly got into Dalton's bag that sat at the foot of the bed. He produced the Tylenol bottle and fished inside of it for two of the pills. He laid on the bed next to Dalton, giving the gentle command of, "Open."

Dalton opened his mouth, allowing his partner to put the pills in his mouth. It was followed by the straw of his drink, an iced coffee, to swallow down his medication. "Thanks bear," Dalton gave a soft smile before his expression turned back into a scowl, "but I'm still mad at you."

Dalton rolled his eyes, moving to lay his head on Dalton's chest, "You can be mad all you want, birdie. I'm gonna be here anyways."

Dalton's eyes lit up brightly as Dakota pulled the car up in front of the white barn shaped building with the bright yellow lettering on top. He may have been out with injury, but while his husband was in the States, Dalton had decided to tag along on the road with him. Dakota was getting ready to do Wrestling Revolver in Ohio and had told Dalton that he had a surprise for him. His bright eyed and face pressed against the car window was proof that Dalton was indeed surprised.

"Cheesebarn?" Dalton's voice was full of excitement, practically bouncing in the passengers seat.

Dakota cut the cars engine off, reaching to hold his partner's hand, "Figured you could use a pick-me-up, baby boy. Matt recommended it."

Dalton leaned across to peck Dakota on the cheek, "You are the 𝑏𝑒𝑠𝑡 Kota. The 𝑏𝑒𝑠𝑡."

The two made their way through the heavy door of the shop and Dalton's eyes scanned the shop. Jerky, local jams and honeys, chocolates. This place had everything, including a little cafe that Dalton planned on eating at as soon as they finished their shopping. While everything seemed nice and he would absolutely be picking up some jerky for the road, Dalton was much more interested in the wares upstairs.

That's where the cheese lived.

From wall to wall, warm and cold cheeses lined shelves and coolers. There were so many different blends and variants, at least one hundred to try. Dalton didn't know where to begin as Dakota put a hand gently on his lower back, "Well? Where do we start? This is your treat."

Dalton chewed his lower lip, eyes scanning the room as he tried to figure something out. Did he want to start with the curds or did he start with the cheese spreads? In the end, he decided to start on the left hand side and circle the room. There was not a kind of cheese that went untouched and though Dalton limited himself to buying only four blends to take on the road, he felt fuller than he had ever felt. He almost couldn't imagine going downstairs to the cafe to eat.

Almost.

Dalton had ordered the classic grilled cheese, pepperjack to be exact, while Dakota had decided on the Monte Cristo. Instead of sitting in the cafe, they had decided to take their food to the lake on property. The two sat on the grass together, Dalton with his head in Dakota's lap as they ate their lunches. Dakota beamed down at his partner, glad at just how happy with the days events he looked. There had been a time in both men's where this only would have been enjoyable if Dalton had a glass of wine and Dakota a beer. Now? Now they could be happy with just themselves. "This hits the spot," Dalton beamed around a mouthful of his sandwhich.

"It really does," Kota chuckle, palms on the ground behind him and eyes gazing across the lake, "it really does."

You had been trained to pay the iron price, broken by the salt and sweat of the sea. The Iron Islands offered little in the way of comfort, the craggy stone shores, and rocky terrain did not make for an easy ride or leisurely stroll. You were made to work for your pleasures. 

While others of the islands spend time reaping and whoring, you find your comfort in life’s simpler work. You take your time on your needlework, even though your mother never required it of you. You learned to read from books of great histories left behind by the Maesters banished from the Keep by your father for questioning his authority and the authors of the Drowned God. 

You weren’t sure what you believed, other than your fondness for maps. You have sailed the oceans of the world through the tapestries and scrolls, treasured by the Greyjoy fleet. New and updated maps from all over the known, and unknown world, flowed into the Keep with every tide. 

You could only imagine what treasures hid behind the walls of a real keep. A real castle, not some spit of stones in the sorrowful sea, surrounded by rocks and grey, but rather the grandness of the Red Keep in Kingslanding, surrounded by flying dragons and handsome lords. 

You were on a voyage in the cold and unforgiving north when you heard news of your father’s death, a long and treacherous one lead by your elder brother, The Red Kraken. He immediately ordered his fleet home, to claim his rightful place on the Salt Throne, as was his birthright. 

Your brother sat upon the Seastone Chair and called you and your younger sister before him. You were all so similar in ages, your childhood had been tangled together as Dalton had aged. You had grown custom to following his orders, as a faithful crewmate to the fierce captain. 

He had been the one to make fun of you for your likes of girlish things, tossing your embroidery overboard whenever he found you hiding it from the other crew. He knew of your desires, and he denied you anyway. 

“The Crown has sent a raven, all the way from King’s Landing,” he laughed, admiring the fancy paper, curled up tightly into a scroll. “They offer me a position on their councils, and a place in their halls.” It was clear that your brother had no intention of bending any knees and wearing fancy dress. 

“Dacey,” the new Lord Greyjoy mentioned to your younger sister, “you shall sail to King’s Landing with our answer. You can offer yourself to them, take a salt husband, whatever you wish, I care not–“

“Brother!” you pleaded, “You know it has been my wish to–“ 

He stopped you, not interested in what you had to say. “You are too valuable to loose, sister. You follow my orders too well,” he smiled a toothless grin, “I could not hope to lose you.”

You knew him to be cruel, you were a lowly member of the crew, only fit to scrub the deck and wrap the sails. Your brother mocked you, not allowing you to follow your dream. 

“Brother, please,” you try to bargain with him, try to make him see reason. “I could be an asset to you, I could sail to the capitol in your stead, I could represent House Greyjoy–“ 

“You!” he shouted, rising from his place on the Seastone Chair. “Are not fit to call yourself Greyjoy, you have not earned the name.”

“And yet my sister younger has?” he challenge, turning your ire onto the girl. 

“You are simply jealous!” she countered, knowing it to be true in her bones. “You are not true iron born. I bet mother bedded some weak landwalker to come up with something as ugly as–“

You struck your sister with your closed palm, aiming for her nose but hitting her eye. The two girls scrapped at one another until their brother pulled them apart. “My word is final!” he demanded, putting an end to the womanly foolishness.

“Presenting, Lady Dacey, of House Greyjoy, envoy from the Iron Islands,” the booming voice called as you are ushered into the great throne room of the Red Keep. It was more glorious and wondrous than you could have ever imagined. The hall was so high, you could practically imagine a dragon flying beneath the domed roof. The columns were carved with detailed conjurings of battles won with dragon fire and blood. 

The ladies were all dressed in gowns so fine and fashionable, you could hardly stop yourself from reaching out and feeling each unique fabric your eyes had never seen before. 

You had arrived, at your new life. You had made it. And you had paid the Iron Price. 

“Your Grace,” you bow before the King of the Seven Kingdoms. “It is truly an honor,” you smile. “I can not wait to serve you in any way I can.” 

“It is good to see an Iron Islander in their rightful place, on their knees before the throne,” the eldest brother said, his eyelids heavy as he gazed down at you. 

“Your namesake changed our traditions, yes,” you spoke, your head still bowed respectfully. “We only bow to one king, and he sits upon the Iron Throne.”

"Is...is that my shirt?" Dalton Castle asked as he watched his tag team partner through the Skype call that they were currently on. With the world shut down, Joe Hendry had been forced to go back home to Scotland while Dalton found himself so isolated. He was a being that needed other beings, be they friends or lovers or even just his Boys. It was starting to wear on his soul.

The shirt was the last straw.

"Does it look like a Planet Peacock shirt?" Joe raised an eyebrow, sitting back in his gaming chair. He ran a hand over the black t-shirt adorned with a pink heart under which an upside down crown sat. Arrows pierced through the heart with the words Head Over Heels written across it. "Nae, nae. I dinnae think this is a Peacock shirt."

"No, no it's a Head Over Heels shirt. I got it when I saw the musical! It's been missing and 𝐲𝐨𝐮 stole it!" Dalton huffed, sitting on the counter behind him in the kitchen, "How 𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐞 you!"

"Oi, come off it," scoffed Joe with a roll of his eyes, "Yer nae mad a' me. How can ye be mad a' me?"

"You 𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐥𝐞 my shirt! How can't I be mad at you?" Dalton crossed his arms over his chest, "That's how I can be-"

"I'm wearing it cause I miss ye, bird!"

There it was, the admission out in the open. Joe missed him. Joe missed him enough to be wearing one of his shirts. One of his 𝐟𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐞 shirts. "Oh...I..."

"It still smells like ye and..and if even for a minute I can pretend tha'...tha' yer here then I..." Joe wouldn't look at the camera anymore, but Dalton could hear the tears. Joe was a jovial man, the same as Dalton. It had never once occurred to him that if he was struggling from lack of people, then how was this effecting Joe?

"You can pretend the world isn't falling down around you? Around us?" Dalton supplied in an effort to show his tag team partner, his friend, that he understood. "You know...it's okay just to say you're not okay."

"One of us has tae be okay, Dalton," Joe gave a teary eyed laugh, "and somethin' tells me tha' is nae ye."

"Tell you what, Joe, we can be not okay. Together."

Dalton Castle knew how he must look to the outside world. Between the cheese, the wandering around listlessly, and the outbursts of frustration and anger, Dalton had hoped that the world would feel his pain. Instead, they found it 𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗻𝘆. They 𝗹𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗵𝗲𝗱 at him. He couldn't get over the severe depression that he found himself sinking deeper and deeper into and with every loss in the ring, every step away from the championships, he only seemed to sink to new lows.

It was his husband Dakota who had decided to take some sort of action in the matter.

The two had been happily married for a few years now, and Dakota was one of the few people who knew how to handle Dalton's unique perspectives on the world. The Boys helping around the house when Dakota was across the pond in the United Kingdom acting as one of the cornerstones of their death match scene? That was just family taking care of family. The need for cheese or sour gummy worms in whipped cream after a loss? Dakota made sure Dalton had a small minifridge in their bedroom well stocked for that reason. Seeing Dalton at a place where he couldn't escape from, where he felt so low? That was new for Dakota and he was willing to do anything to pull Dalton from it.

Dakota had just returned from the gym to see Dalton lounging in bed in nothing but a pair of white briefs, a paper plate of various cheeses on his chest. Dakota leaned against the door frame, hand on his hips as he watched his partner. "You look comfy."

Dalton's eyes cut away from the tv, a twinge of sadness in them, "Yeah, comfy and fat."

"Did I give you permission to talk about my husband like that?" Dakota crossed to the bed, taking the plate from his husband. He sat it on the nightstand before dragging Dalton off the bed, standing him in front of the long mirror that hung on the wall near the bathroom. "What do you see?"

"That you put my cheese on the-"

"𝙉𝙤," Dakota chastised as he stood behind Dalton, face visible behind his shoulder, "When you look at you."

Dalton drew in a breath, blue eyes brimming with tears, "An overweight, past his prime-"

"What I see," Dakota wrapped his arms around Dalton's waist, resting his head on the crook of his husband's neck, "are stunning blue eyes. I see a man who cares so deeply about life that not only does he experience the highest of highs, but everything so deeply. I see the man who helped me get clean, who stood by my side through it all."

His lips pressed little kisses into Dalton's neck, hands gently squeezing at Dalton's lips. Dakota's fingers circled into his hips, dipping into the waistband of Dalton's underwear. He pulled the white fabric down Dalton's thick thighs, kneeling as he pulled them completely down. With a kiss to his hips, Dakota moved to kneel in front of Dalton. He pressed kisses against Dalton's stomach, "I love this. I love that you are so confident with yourself, my little peacock."

"You have to say that," a small smile came to the corners of Dalton's lips, "you're my husband."

"I am," Dakota gave a little nod, hand wrapping around Dalton's length and slowly stroking up and down, "but it doesn't mean it's not true. I love everything about you. Just look at you."

Dakota lowered his mouth over the head of Dalton's member, sucking gently. Dalton let out a soft moan, one hand in Dakota's hair and one carding through his own. Desperate, needy moans left his lips as Dakota stilled his head, holding himself there for a moment before pulling it all the way off. "You taste so good, love," Dakota's voice was husky as he kissed the tip again, "You fill my mouth so good."

Dalton chewed his lower lip for just a moment, "Kota bear..."

"You're my favorite everything," Dakota whispered before lowering his head back to the task at hand. He ran his tongue along the underside of Dalton's member, eliciting a sharp moan from Dalton. He ran his hands through Dakota's hair, nails gently massaging into his husband's scalp. Dalton felt himself twitch under Dakota's touch, biting his lip.

"I...Kota I'm gonna..."

Dakota looked up at Dalton through his lashes, hand moving up and down Dalton's length, "Go on. Go on, my little peacock."

As if Dalton was given permission, he felt himself erupt, cum covering Dakota's face as he did. Looking down at Dakota, Dalton felt a little embarrassed, "I didn't mean to..."

Dakota chuckled, tongue swiping over what he could collect around his mouth as he did. He stood and crossed into the attached bathroom, cleaning up with a warm rag. "It's okay, ya know. Certainly not the worst thing that's ever happened during. How are 𝘺𝘰𝘶 feeling? Any better?"

Dalton leaned against the bathroom door, giving a cheeky grin, "Loads."

1. Debut fic:  Reverb by Fickelodeon

Post-Michael thru Season 4, Blaine’s just a little unwell, and it’s not long before everyone can tell. Physical and Mental illness. Hurt/Comfort. If Robin Cook wrote for Glee and General Hospital, the story would probably go like this. Universe Expansion for Seasons 3 and 4 wherein I add some elements to canon and leave some out but manage to get everyone back to place where they can still have the endings they got in canon. Honestly, I just wanted to write H/C, but the more I hurt Blaine, the more I realized he wasn’t going to handle that very well, so I added in diagnosed mental illness. All in all, it’s everything I love to read in fic all in one epic story, just in case I don’t ever get the chance to write these characters again.

This summer is either going to be a fairy tale come true, or result in multiple diplomatic catastrophes.Inspired by Meg Cabot’s Princess Diaries series and the movie adaptations, but no background knowledge is needed to understand the fic.

Blaine gets hit by a taxi and ends up in the hospital - so naturally, as his best friend and long-standing roommate, Kurt visits him at every possible opportunity until he gets to come home.

It only takes a couple of visits before Kurt notices something impossibly endearing: the beeping of Blaine’s heart rate monitor speeds up whenever his friends come to visit. At least, Kurt assumes it happens with all of Blaine’s friends, until Sam has no idea what he’s talking about.

tl;dr I’m really struggling to find my place in the pro-wrestling fandom.

(disclaimer: I’ve been taking a break from twitter and tumblr for the past couple of months so I don’t know anything about any recent iwc drama, what’s been going on in the dirt sheets or even the more legitimate wrestling news sources. i’ve been on tiktok some but unless it’s a ship or thirst edit, i hardly watch any posts on wrestle-tok.)

i feel like all i ever see in the wrestling fandom is people talking about how everything sucks. how terrible the product is. don’t get me wrong, people should be free to criticize pop-culture no matter the genre or medium. there is absolutely a LOT of problematic things in the industry that should be called out publicly.

it’s just, that seems to be all there is. wrestling makes me happy. i want to be in a community with other fans who are made happy by it too.

maybe it’s because i’m too used to the typical tv/movie/book fandoms. while i will jump at the chance to tell anyone who will listen how there is no greater performance art than wrestling, that is more “real” than marvel or star wars (which i both love) or any other popular franchise, that no “method actor” in hollywood comes close to what pro wrestlers do year round… but at it’s core it’s still about stories and characters and that’s the way i tend to approach it.

i want to have thoughtful discussions about current storylines like how luchasaurus is showing signs that he is breaking free from christian’s influence, theorize the possible motivations he had for choosing christian over jungleboy to begin with. i want to talk about how dalton castle is spiraling under the weight he’s put on his own shoulders to save ring of honor. i want to talk about the new version of warhorse and what led him to feel he had to change everything about who he was. my shipper heart wants to explore why jay white mentioned his “destino” only days before naito finally main evented wrestle kingdom. i want to read pages of meta about past arcs like the corruption of brandon cutler from his time with peter avalon where he refused to cheat to his becoming the “stooge” for the young bucks.

i am tired of “booking” and “pushes” and “ratings.” yes, i am aware that that is just as much a part of wrestling as the characters and the storylines. it’s just, for right now at least, i want wrestling to be a place where i can escape and lose myself in kayfabe just like i would in any other fictional world.

there’s just so much real life awfulness going on in both the world at large and in my own personal life, i want to be able to stay away from negativity in the things that bring me joy. and while it has been refreshing to just watch wrestling on tv without knowing about any of the back stage bullshit, i am longing for a community to discuss the things i love about it. i have a handful of wonderful non-wrestling friends who are always happy to let me word-vomit about what’s happening in kayfabe, but it isn’t the same as being able to have conversations with people who have the same knowledge and enthusiasm for the stories and characters as i do.

i just wonder if there is such a place in this fandom for me. or if that’s just not how wrestling fandom works. or if that’s how all fandoms are these days. admittedly, i’m a fandom old. i started out in fandom reading fics from yahoo mailing lists i accessed on dial-up internet.

anyways, i just needed to get this out. if anyone has any advice or thoughts about this, i welcome them, but please be patient if i don’t reply right away as i’m still not ready to be back on tumblr regularly.
